Speechless. Just speechless. I don’t know how the author ties it. Makes me so mad to be left standing without the second piece of the story and loving her all the more for it. Emotional and raw, this book – no words. I’m going to be reading this over and over until Part Two arrives. Major book hangover!

The Halfling’s Court is an amazing far story, personally I couldn’t put it down. Ms. Ackley-McPhail gives us everything that we could hope for including drama, fantasy, magic, mayhem and more. Her characters are so descriptive, and her scenery descriptions leave you breathless with the right imagination. Ms. Ackley McPhail certainly has a wild imagination that creates incredible stories for her readers. This will be my second series by Ms. Ackley-McPhail and I can’t wait to see what happens next.

Not all heroes wear capes. I enjoyed the complexity of the plot and the development of the characters. I admired the approach that Manda took in creating the main characters, the vulnerability of Grumbler regarding his age and how the opposite sex views him (this alpha male combating his insecurities). There are two sides to a coin; with Grumbler there is no difference; he is a badass who gets things done and on the other hand, he’s an absolute sweetheart when it comes to those he calls family. Can Mary be a more kick-ass understanding mom! I loved how she was portrayed in this novel. Go, Mary! There were certain situations in the novel that did not sit well with (unfortunately for some this is a reality); bless the heavens justice was served. Readers beware. I recommend this slow-burn intriguing page-turner.

Manda Mellett does not disappoint. This is the second book of hers I read, and once again, the characters are flawed, relatable, and complex. It’s easy to get Lost (see what I did there?) in the world of bikers that she builds. I loved that the MC’s were older. I love the close bonds of family and friendship that exists between the members of the Satan’s Devil MC. The mystery was intriguing, and the character and story development was exciting to experience. My only problem is now I think I will need to read her entire collection… Oh no, there goes my TBR!

The Halfling’s Court is a truly great story, and the characters and plot produced in the writing of Danielle Ackley-McPhail are remarkable. I loved reading this book because of love for all things fae and the motorcycle club angle. The loyalty of an MC goes beyond anything that I have ever encountered.
Lucas Cosain is a halfling. He is somewhat baffled by his roots as his family will not share with him the secrets of his origin. He knows that his mother was fae and his father is human, but his mother died in childbirth. His father, Cameron Cosain, is a human who left him with his aunt and uncle, seeming to care little about Lucas.
As the leader of the Wild Hunt MC, Lucas is grounded by his human side. He has nubs where his wings should have developed, but his human side keeps them at bay. That is until his old lady is taken captive by none other than a dark fae. During the scuffle to get her back, his ride hand, Gavin, a fae, took him away from death’s door which threatened to send him back to ashes.
With fae magic now whispering in his head, Lucas is an adversary for the high king of fae, Dair na Scath. The king has known about the halfling, but now wants Lucas destroyed and his MC obliterated. Who will come forth as the victor…Lucas or the high king of fae?

Danielle Ackley-McPhail’s The Halfling’s Court (A Bad-Ass Faerie Tale Book 1) is a Fae MC a modern urban fantasy tale. Where Sons of Anarchy meets Lord of The Rings. He is half human and half fae and this guy is a great leader of an MC. He is on a journey to reconcile with a past he knows nothing about. Danielle pulls out all the stops to give us a mixed-up cast of fun characters with secrets and lies, trials and tribulations, danger and perils, good vs evil along the way. I would have liked to see this as a full novel and more depth in the characters but having said that it is an engaging read. Hang on and enjoy the ride.

The Halfling’s Court: A Bad-A$$ Faerie Tale is book one in Danielle Ackley- McPhail is the first in her Bad-A$$ Faerie series. This is an interesting take on Faerie and Fae stories.
I’ve never imagined Faeires as big, motorcycle riding, MC leading burley men. Lance Cosain changes that aspect to the very core. No more are they these little Tinklebell fairies we have come to know. If you love motorcycles and the paranormal then this is a book for you.
Ackley- McPhail has created characters that will stick with you in this action packed fantasy she has created. This book is written in a Lance’s perspective, so males should have no problem getting behind this protagonist.
This has been an enjoyable read. If I was to have anything bad to say it would be, it took me awhile to get used to her writing style. While there’s nothing wrong with it, I did not enjoy it. That being said, I can’t wait to read the next in this bad-a** series.

This the first book in the Bad-Ass Faerie Tale book series. This is a motorcycle story with some magical characters in the storyline. I went on a motorcycle ride through this story with the characters. There were twists and turns which made it an exciting ride. The characters are fully developed and complex in nature. All Lance wants to do is live with his love, but that is not so easy. He has some obstacles and is in a race to find an ancient realm to sit on the throne as the king. I highly recommend this story to take the journey with Lance and see if it was worth the journey.

Another great read by Manda Mellett that deals with some issues that teens face today. I like that she tackles the issues bringing awareness to them. I was not crazy about the female lead in this story. I realize she acted like a lot of people probably would act, but I just didn’t relate to her. The romantic relationship wasn’t my favorite as much as the parental relationship that develops – don’t want to give too much away. One of Manda’s talents is her development of relationships in the story, and she doesn’t disappoint in this one.

I get so lost in Manda Mellet’s story telling that I read her books in one sitting. The characters are amazing and deal with real life situations. This is Grumbler’s story. Grumbler decided to pimp out his bike to a photographer that takes pics for book covers. When he doesn’t get paid what he is owed he starts to dig into the photographer. What he finds opens a whole can of worms, I was not expecting. Mary let her daughter model, but only if Mary goes with her. There she meets Grumbler, a gruff man whom she was quite attracted to. But would their paths even cross again? Being in my late 40’s I rooted so hard for Mary and Grumbler. We may be older, but we aren’t dead! Be aware there are trigger warnings, rape and of sexual nature. Very gritty story that I absolutely loved.

This is the first book in the Satan’s Devils MC. I really got into the book from page one. The characters jumped off the page for me. Lost having taken over as president from a backstabbing prez that tore the MC in two, finds that he is more prepared and ready to lead then he thought he was. Patsy is moved with her son as part of a witness protection order. Due to a message from an unknown source, the MC moves into protect Patsy and her son from danger as they investigate what is going on. Can Patsy and Lost come together and find love amid all the turmoil? I love the ride that Manda Mellett takes me on, a page turner for sure!

Manda Mellett has drawn me into a genre I hadn’t read before, and I am completely in love. This book was so heart wrenching. This is Saffie and Narin’s story. Saffie has literally been through hell and in a chance meeting with Narin and his sergeant-at-arms old lady, Mary, Saffie finds some comfort. At least until Saffie finds out that Narin is part of an MC. The Devi’s take Saffie under their wing and offer her their protection, but can she trust them and let them try to protect her? This book ended on a cliffhanger, and I am impatiently waiting for the next installment due out soon.

Avenging Devil: Part 1 (Satan’s Devils MC – San Diego Chapter #3) by Manda Mellett was a great read! I swear I think each book by her just gets better and better and this one definitely wasn’t a disappointment. I was hooked from the beginning, and I didn’t want to put it down. This was a tear jerker novel and very emotional. Definitely not for the faint of heart. This book does end on a cliffhanger (hence it being part one) and I absolutely can not wait to read part two when it’s released!

This is my favorite Manda Mellett book so far, but I have a feeling she will keep surprising me. Everything, the characters, the plot, and the action sequences seemed so real. Lost, man, I loved Lost. I have dealt with that voice in my head and could totally relate. It will be a while before I forget his character’s story. I loved the way the MC was kind of dragged into the situation instead of being in it to begin with. I also loved that the hero/heroine are older. I enjoyed the fresh perspective and being reminded that growing old isn’t the end of new relationships or new experiences.

Avenging Devil part 1 is the third installment to the San Diego and as the title reveals there is a part 2. Part 1 was so good that I was on the edge of my seat the whole time and went a little crazy anticipating part 2 due to the way that Ms. Mellett leaves part 1. As much as I love her other novels this story is so descriptive, her characters so amazing that I find myself craving more. She weaves layers upon layers of tension, drama, complexity, and romance, making sure to put her readers and characters through a dramatic roller coaster ride. Ms. Mellett gives us so much that she will have you flipping the pages until the very end.

HOWLY COW this is the best book I have read in the Satan’s Devil MC. Avenging Devil is part 1 Niran and Saffie story and it ends in a big cliff hanger. The characters are written amazingly. They are strong minded and they way these characters play off each other are great and their quirks make them feel real.
Saffie has been hurt by an MC before so when she finds out Niran is part of an MC she kicks him out and is scared that he knows her ex so she wants nothing to do with him.
Niran was discharged from the army because he lost part of his leg he was floundering until he met the Satan Devils. So, for Niran to be apart of her life he either must leave the Devil’s or show Saffie that the Satan’s Devils are totally different then the one who hurt her.
Will Saffie’s Ex find her? Will Saffie realize the Satan Devils are different from the other MC before its to late? Can Niran keep Saffie safe? Can they work against the odds to be together or are they doomed?

Grumbler’s Ride is the second chapter in the Satan’s Devils MC San Diego series, personally I enjoyed this second chapter even more then I enjoyed the first. I love that Ms. Mellett is writing more mature characters. The fact that she writes more mature characters gives the story a different take then if her characters where in their mid thirties. While this series has some scenes that could trigger some people it is still well worth the read. Ms. Mellett is slowly becoming one of my favorite authors she always seems to tackle sensitive subjects and handles them with immense care. The care she provides in her writing makes her books flow well and her series come together beautifully.

I have read a few of Manda Mellett’s series but I have to say that the San Diego chapters are some of the best by far. Being Lost was such a good start, I couldn’t put it down. It was such any easy read for me kind of like pulling out my favorite jean jacket in the fall, or watching a rain storm in the fall, it was calming and relaxing with just the right amount of edge. As usual Ms. Mellett’s characters are wonderful, her scenery descriptive, and her story line intriguing. So if your looking for a great series to read I highly recommend Ms. Mellett’s San Diego chapters.

Wow, I continue to be blown away with this series. This book in particular is just pure dark, raw and emotional. Please be aware of adult content and triggers. My heart hurt after reading this for Saffie. She is on the run, trying to get away from her ex, whom we find out belongs to a mc. Niran, is ex military and protective. I loved his character as tries to help Saffie but once Saffie finds out that Niran belongs to a mc, she flees. She wants to feel safe………..The ending…………..holy cow………like…..I need part 2…

Ah yes, Grumbler, so set in his ways. I loved his character in this book, even if he is a little rough around the edges. We meet Grumbler when he meets a photographer whom wants to take pictures of his bike, and a monetary deal is made. Needless to say, that photographer is not what he seems to be, conning Grumbler of what is due. Mary and Alicia come into the picture and my heart! Mary lost her husband and trying to raise a 17 year old daughter on her own. Alicia is in a situation and Mary tries to be there for her daughter, something is not right and Mary senses it. Grumbler is there for both Mary and Alicia. Some twists and turns in this book (don’t want to give away to much), but at the end there is love between Grumbler and Mary. I love them together.

Fairies, motorcycles, MC clubs, what do you get? An action packed story that is one of a kind and the best story in the fantasy realm I’ve read. I love fae and MC stories. Lance is half-human, half-fae and the head of Wild Hunt MC club. The adventures are wild and crazy starting with his old lady, Suzanne, disappearing to assassination attempts by family members. The emotions will flow all over the chart as you read the story. Wonderfully written characters that are not all tutu and wands. The struggles are real. Watch out for the road gremlins as you’re reading….

The Halfling’s Court by Danielle Ackley-McPhail is the first book in the A Bad-Ass Faerie series. This is an interesting mix of Fae and MC genres, in a way that I don’t think I have seen done before. The author has taken the best elements in each and combined them into a great and exciting story. It is an action packed story the whole way through. The author has created relatable and engaging characters inside a world that feels new. Each book this author seems to write is completely different from her last and you never know what you are going to get. For me this makes not just the books exciting but the author as well. I though this was a strong start to a new series and I am looking forward to the next book.

Avenging Devil Part 1: Satan’s Devils San Diego MC is the first part of Nirans story. I love each and every MC story Manda Mellett has written and this one didn’t take long to suck me in like all the others. This story is a cliffhanger, because it’s a two part book, and I can’t wait to get my hands on remaining story to see what happens with Niran and Saffie. Avenging Devil Part 1 is the third book in the Satan’s Devils MC San Diego Series by Manda Mellett. Ms. Mellett is one of my go to authors. I have read most of her books. I’m not really a big MC reader, but this author puts such interesting twists in her Satan’s Devils Universe that her books are impossible to put down. This one is different as it has two parts and the first one ends on a cliffhanger, which I can’t wait for the second part to see how it ends. This book features Saffie and Niran and is a bit darker than the rest of Ms. Mellett’s books. There may be triggers for some, but the author does a good job of diving into deeper subjects of things that happen in some MC clubs. This book took me on a roller coaster of emotions and I was grabbing for the tissue box more than once. If you love MC Romance this is the series for you.

The Halfling’s Court had such an intriguing synopsis that I just had to pick it up. Danielle Ackley-McPhail is definitely going to be an author I follow in the future and go back and read previous work. The way she blended faerie and MC worlds was well done and had me captured from the beginning. I love stories with fairies and enjoy the MC novels I have read and so to put them together was generous of Danielle. So, if you enjoy either of these themes definitely try this one out!! Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a mystical, fast paced read.

Avenging Devil Part 1 (Satan’s Devils MC San Diego #3) by Manda Mellett. First off I LOVE Manda Mellett so I was super excited to read this book and it was amazing. Its the story of Saffie who has been assaulted by members of another biker’s club and is notably terrified of biker’s. Her ex boyfriend was a biker as well and she’s always looking over her shoulder to see if he’s hunting her down. He told her he would kill her for leaving him. Niran is a biker like no other, he’s kind, caring and compassionate. When he meets Saffie she is a shell of her former and scared of everything but Niran can’t help wanting to protect her. This author seems to pull at your heartstrings in the most profound ways through storytelling. I’ve read numerous books by this author and have captivated me after reading them. This book is no different as worlds collide but don’t end like you’d suspect. You will enjoy this one just as much as I did.

This is the first book by this author that I have read and it was great. The Halfling Court is a well-crafted and thought-out book. The Characters are well written I loved the way they played off of each other and their quirks.
If you like motorcycles and paranormal then you will love reading this book. We meet Lance Cosain, the halfling leader of The Wild Hunt MC, he protects his turf and his people from attacks ordered by Dair na Scath, the high king of the fae. With the help of his MC, they hold their own against rogue fae, redcaps, and the gremlins of the road. Why can’t Lance just settle down that’s all he wants just to settle and peace. But instead, he goes toe-to-toe with the high king’s champion over an ancient dagger and the claim to a throne. Who will win? Who would be the best king for the realm? You need to read this story to find out…

This is an interesting mash-up of faerie lore and motorcycle bad-assery. I was intrigued how that would play out in a novel. The mystical beings were described well, and were easy to imagine. I liked the development of Lance’s powers as a halfling. There were parts of the story that got a bit mundane for me, and I would have liked a little more character development of the side characters. However, it was an interesting read, and the first I’ve read that delved deep into the motorcycle culture, so that was cool and different for me to learn about. If you like paranormal and motorcycle themes, give it a go!

This story is not safe for work, not for children and definitely not for readers with triggers due to rape, torture, or abuse. Everyone else will love this story…well maybe not the ending!! UGH those cliffhangers! But the title does say PART 1 for a reason!
Mellett loves her MC stories and she does an amazing job with each one. Every story digging deeper into the lives of Satan’s Devils and securing these characters into our hearts. Avenging Devil is no different! Saffie and Niran are strong characters on their own but they really need each other and we need them to work it out and realize their need is more than just about sex. The need for a friend, the need for protection, the need for love, and the need of feeling safe. Just plain safe.
This series needs to be read in order so that you can experience the other characters in the club and understand the brotherhood. Since this story ends with a cliffhanger, I am patiently ish waiting for part two.
