What an informative yet fun way to travel. I love this story! Some will never get the chance to travel and enjoy such an amazing country. This book is perfect. I enjoyed the pictures as well as the story. The information shared with the readers just adds to the events in the story. The author opens a whole new adventure with this book. Adults as well as children will all enjoy this story. I recommend this book be part of the curriculum in preschools as well. I for one have learned so much from this book. A must read and own book for all bookshelves. I hope you enjoy this story as much as my family did.

This is such a wonderful children’s book. I love that it introduces children to Israel. I definitely can see myself incorporating it into a holidays around the world activity. Or even during any of the many lessons that I teach about diversity. This really is an amazing picture book that I feel should be in all classroom and family libraries. I love that it uses colorful illustrations to show children a part of the world they may not know much about or ever get to experience first hand.

This was a great book to introduce the country of Israel to young readers. The mixture of real life photos mixed with illustrated children helped to keep this from being just like any other children’s book about a different country. The beginning of this book begins with an explanation of the meaning of the word shalom which absolutely would help a little one remember as it is repeated throughout the story. Readers will get a quick yet amazingly beautiful glimpse of the country and learn a little about the culture as well!

This is a great book for young and old…..not only my great nieces and nephew enjoyed this story of culture and learning but I loved this story as well….and you are never to old to learn something new.

Shalom Israel took us on a wonderful journey of cities, marketplace, food and rich history as your flip each page.

I love the glossary and interesting facts as well at the end to know what some of the terminology means. The illustrations really brought this book to life…..what a wonderful learning journey and a fun children’s book.

I enjoyed this peek of the different places in Israel. I loved the illustrations – a mix of drawings with real photos – they really gave me the vison of the places the book introduced me to. The story tells a history of Israel in a rhyme, it is highly engaging and educational – in a fun way!

Shalom Israel is a guided tour through the land of Israel and its culture. The author immerses the reader into the landscapes, culture, history, and beauty of Israel through poetry and colorful illustrations. As a photographer myself I must note that the photographer did an amazing job of capturing the history, beauty, customs, and culture of Israel through his photographs. I loved the colorful photos that capture the very essence of Israel and thought the cute little cartoon characters were a nice touch that added a sense of whimsy and fun. This book takes the reader on a journey from lush forest to deserts, beaches, The Dead Sea, graffiti, the food, and everything in between. The glossary at the end of the book with information on the words used and fun facts was a nice added touch. Although it is a children’s book, I feel that it would be a good read for anyone of any age that wants to know about Israel.

Even though this is based more towards children, I really enjoyed it. I learned many words and things about Israel that I never knew. I was extremely excited at the end when they had a glossary for all the terms I wasn’t sure about saving me the time of trying to Google to be sure I understood correctly. I think this book is a wonderful story for children to read and learn so much more about Israel. I would definitely recommend it to anyone, especially people trying to teach their children of the beauty and diversity in other countries.

Adventure through Israel
This brightly illustrated picture story book takes the reader on a journey through Israel. It’s an easy read, aimed at mid to upper primary ages and shows the changing landscape of Israel in engaging pictures and text. A great little addition to a school or home library there is even a glossary at the end. Recommend.

I picked this book for my eight and eleven year old just as much as I picked it for me. I’ve been teaching my kids about different cultures, backgrounds, religions, and traditions. Being Jewish but never seeing Israel had me drawn to this book. I could teach my kids a little more, but also myself at the same time! This book was so informative during a whole journey through Israel. You go through a huge diverse, fascinating, beautiful, and historic land. You can see the amazing lands of colors through the landscapes pictured in these pages. I really loved the fields of flowers, but my girls loved the camels and beach art. There is a wonderful glossary at the end of the book that explains some of the words, but also has some great facts about the photos and places. I would recommend this book not only to kids, but anyone who wants to visit Israel one day. This is a great guide to many places there. But also anyone who wants to learn a bit more about other places, culture, food, land, and traditions like I did. I can’t wait to check out some of the other books from this author!!

This book is really fun in the way it has the cartoon like characters and the backdrop is realistic, it catches the eye and makes you look. I loved learning about the different places around Israel and the many different things to love. The back has a glossary of the places and things mentioned and it is nice to be able to learn about things and places that are popular in other countries. I think the book will have kids asking questions and wanting to learn.

This is a lyrical story that describes Israel in pictures and prose. The story highlights the beauty of the land both naturally and culturally. The illustrations are within photos and make each page inviting and fun. My favorite part is the glossary in the back, it even helped me with some terms, and I am an adult! Adorable book!

This was a lovely and informative book aimed at kids. Saying that, there were things I learnt from reading this book, even before reaching the facts page.

The images were colourful and fun with a mi of photo and cartoon. I personally liked how many places within Israel were shown in the images and text.

This is another great kids book which combines fun and education, keeping kids engaged while they learn.

Teachers are all different but one thing makes them the same…they all have a big heart. This is a sweet book about teachers. I feel like it would be a good book for children who are getting ready to head to school for the first time or even those returning for a new school year to read.

The cadence and rhyme are spot on throughout the book (easy to read and follow). I really appreciated th glossary/interesting facts at the end- saves Googling some of the concepts of the book.

I enjoyed the graphics- very visual, and the skywriting of “Shalom” with clouds was really neat. I also appreciated the mixed media art (real photographs and clipart). A little long for the youngest crowd, but I think ages 4 and up would enjoy the lyrical narrative and the illustrations.

This book was adorable! I would recommend this book if your child is about to start school. The story will allow your little ones to understand that a teacher is someone who has a big heart no matter what they look like! That they are there to help and guide them to be their best self! The illustrations are cute and fun for the children to enjoy. Snuggle up close with your little one and read to them about how teachers are there for them!

Melissa brings her story to life by sharing the beauty of Israel through her eyes. Discovering new lands and historical facts of a land that is as diverse as its characters.
Shalom Israel is a wonderful tale, and the pictures bring the story to life and the clipart is bright and colourful. I love that Melissa brought something a little different to the norm of picture books.
It is a book told through rhyme which sets the tone of the story. Children will love this guided tour and give them a look at a place not many will have heard of.
Not only is it a great educational story but it is fun as you journey through this adventure.

This would be a great book to share with someone about to travel to Israel to give them a brief taste of what it will be like. It’s also great for someone like me who would like to travel but doesn’t.

This was a cute little story. I think it is a good story for parents with children who are getting ready to start school as it provides them with the knowledge that although teachers come in many shapes and sizes they all have something in common, the desire to spread knowledge. I think that knowledge will help the kids who have some fear when starting school. I enjoyed reading this book and recommend it to anyone who has children who are getting ready to start school.

What can I say? This book was absolutely beautiful. It captured all the aspects of different teacher styles and most importantly underlined the true essence of a teacher’s heart and why they do what they do. As an Early Childhood Education student myself, I resonated with the thoughts in this book and felt it was perfectly written for its target age group. A lovely gift for teachers or students!

Sweet book, lovely art work. This is great to show kids all of their teachers will not be the same every year, that they come in many different ages, races, sizes, and genders. That the teachers they have throughout school will all be different in regards to how they teach and how they act, but at the end of the day they just want to spread their knowledge onto the next generation.
