Shalom Israel by Melissa Lavi – Review by Jennifer Crain
Shalom Israel: A place like no other by Melissa Lavi
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
The cadence and rhyme are spot on throughout the book (easy to read and follow). I really appreciated th glossary/interesting facts at the end- saves Googling some of the concepts of the book.
I enjoyed the graphics- very visual, and the skywriting of “Shalom” with clouds was really neat. I also appreciated the mixed media art (real photographs and clipart). A little long for the youngest crowd, but I think ages 4 and up would enjoy the lyrical narrative and the illustrations.
