In this new age, it can be so very easy to doubt ourselves and the mediocre lives we are living. Social media has broadcasted this skewed image of how we should be living our lives, especially when children are involved. Feeling inadequate and overwhelmed are inevitable, due to comparing ourselves to others and trying to combat the increased amount of stressors and expectations all around us. I would highly recommend this memoir for anyone facing self-doubt. The author learns and teaches us that it is okay to not have all of the answers and just live in and enjoy each moment given to us. This was a wonderful and inspiring read that I will continue to recommend to others.

I’m not sure what I expected when I picked this book to read, but I assure you, it exceeded every expectation. The openness and rawness of his emotions and the way he allows us into his world while sharing his ways of coping is awe-inspiring. David has done something with this book that I didn’t think was possible. He allowed me to grieve for a life that I lost, while still being hopeful for a life that I could have, as long as I was willing to put in the spiritual work. This book has given me so much, and for that, I am so thankful. I absolutely recommend this book to anyone looking for a different perspective on dealing with life and the processes of navigating its twists and turns without the grace and ease that so many people lead you to believe it comes with.

The stories John David Latta shares in this book are so heartwarming, incredibly honest, and powerful that they will definitely leave you thinking about your own life’s journey and how unconditional love might enhance it. I really enjoyed getting to see his life experience in his own words. His writing is so compelling and easy to read that it just draws you into each experience he goes through as if you were truly there with him. It’s awe-inspiring to see what one can go through in life while not letting it shake his unconditional love and faith. This book is definitely one to read for anyone, but especially for those who might need to see they aren’t the only ones that have or are experiencing bad things in life.

I thoroughly enjoyed this memoir and was glad to have picked it up as soon as I was drawn to it. I love reading all different genres, but something about memoirs deeply touches my heart. This is my first read by John David Latta but I hope to see much more from him.

The state of his life felt eerily similar so when he started opening up about loneliness, being a single parent, and still wanting some kind of connection, I had tears in my eyes. His way of writing is completely engaging. I felt like I was going on this journey with him and appreciated every moment of it. If you are looking for an emotionally raw, captivating, spiritual and inspiring story, this is the one for you. I highly recommend picking this up and reading his touching and eye-opening journey.

I’ve been very drawn towards reading memoirs, whether the characters or authors connect within their experiences or thoughts with their readers. Prior to reading this book, I’ve never heard of this author nor was familiar with any of his previous work. I was completely engaged from his experiences and approach on living in the moment and existing in the moment. Heartache and tragedies may challenge us with society making us think we must continue living our lives through thick and thin. These stories have allowed us to feel the moment we are enduring and be ok with that. Time and time again, there are people out there that do not support properly or understand the challenges others face but reading this finally made me feel ok at where I currently stand. I am present in the moment, taking minute by minute.

I wasn’t one hundred percent sure what to expect before reading this, but it was certainly worth the read. An inspiring story which must have taken a lot of courage to share with everyone.

I enjoyed how the book was set out, a chapter for each story, and the way it was written spoke to me. It inspired and encouraged self-reflection. It was what I needed to hear without realising it at the time.

Regardless of whether this is something you feel you need; I think this is well worth a read, it might just begin to open your eyes to your relationship with love.

This was a really eye opening and inspiring story. The author bravely tells us his journey from almost losing everything to finding himself, happiness and realising what it truelly means to have love in your life.
This books is set up in chapters and each chapter is a story about a certain aspects or event that happened which allowed the author to grow and develop spiritually.
As someone who loves to find ways to improve myself and improve myself spiritually it was a really great read. Reading about the author’s findings and then looking for similar things in my own life.
The author shares some really sensitive stories with us and their ability to be open and vulnerable allows the reader to see that if they can achieve this sense of inner peace and love then so can they.

I loved it.

John lost faith in religion early in life and felt lost when his life crumbled around him. He reads about a seminar on unconditional love and spiritual awakening and takes a leap thinking he has nothing to lose as he’s paralyzed by fear. The stories that follow as he embraces his awakening, interprets and listens to his dreams to be in a more conscious state and forgives and lives courageously is immensely satisfying. This book is relatable and not at all preaching anything at all except living as the authentic person you are and understanding no one is perfect and we are all on a journey. This book really hit home with me and I implore anyone to read this!

This tells of the life of John Latta from growing up as a wayward Catholic, to denouncing God altogether, to becoming a mystic and a healer. There are stories throughout his life and the things that he experienced and the journey he took to get to where he is today. He tells stories within stories and includes some poetry as well. The timeline of stories is not always in order and tends to jump back and forth quite a bit.

Eye opening. Before this book I had never heard of John David Latta and honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect from his first book. The title is what drew me in as June is personally a very hard month for me. This year marks the third anniversary of my Irish twin’s death and people are never prepared for the longer lasting devastation that loss leaves on your mind, body, and soul. Be it physical loss, or the loss of a marriage, the lasting effects of seldom talked about beyond the materialistic or more so the loss of the connection to the relationship.
Quickly I realized that this was much more than just a book or even a memoir, it is a physical book on accepting that everything is not okay. That you can feel like your world is falling apart and as habit human beings cling to what they know. Order, to do list, tight schedules. The author mentions these early on how he found a type of comfort in the rigidity of what he knew. Until one day he finally took a chance on what he was being told in his groups, he is good at “doing” but he needs to learn how to “being”, to slow down and just be in the moment. Achieving this he finds a deeper connection to his son, and an understanding that the women telling him to do so might be onto something with it. Like David I find comfort often in keeping busy, having a list, and completing it but seeing the glimpses of my sons’ growing up faster than I emotionally can handle sometimes I have learned to take a break and let myself just enjoy the little moments. I have always been good at using the phrase but in recent years I have been slipping on living by it.
In reading this book over the past several days when given a chance to sneak in a couple of chapters I have begun to focus more on myself in the quiet moments after bedtime. Not just for myself but for my two little boys that deserve to have a fully present mother that can let go of the things that shouldn’t be poison inside my mind, body, and spirit. The three seeds David mentions in chapter one were planted within me and I look forward to seeing how they grow and what other insights will come from the book as I reread it again not just reading the words but processing them deeper and finding how I can become more entuned with myself and learn to love unconditionally in all things to let go of the argumentative, competitive and deep anger for my pain that I hold so tightly within.

Synchronicity always directs us toward pieces of ourselves that we need to restore to become whole again. The author does a wonderful job of weaving the synchronicities in these stories. Sharing the journey of awakening the inner self through mediation, opening chakras, and personal insight give the reader an inside experience. Latta’s experience encourages and inspires the reader to cultivate they’re own seeds of transformation!

The author shares details of his spiritual journey. From a lapsed Catholic, to an unbeliever, to a self-proclaimed mystic- the author unabashedly provides his story. There is original poetry interspersed throughout the memoir. Aside from the actual poetry, the book is quite poetic in and of itself. The editing is fantastic, which makes for seamless reading and enjoyment.

The Synchronicity of Love: Stories that Heal, Transform, and Awaken by John David Latta. This is such a emotional read. Its about a man at his lowest who is on the verge of bankruptcy, alone with his child and who begins to sink into the deepest despair possible afraid that he’s not a good enough dad to his child. He’s very angry at his wife and so very afraid of death that it is consuming his life. When he finally realizes that there is more to life than despair and tragedy he sets off on a journey of self awareness and finds that there is so much more to live for.He begins to open his heart to live and experiences that bring him joy. He learns that not everyone is out to get you and that some people do love unconditionally. This is such a deep, emotional read that shows you the very personal side of one man’s journey. Showing all of us that we too can dig out of that pit of despair if we really set our minds to it.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Life as a teenager is tough enough . There’s nothing kind about war . Having to deal with both at the same time can’t be easy ……

Where most teens are thinking about fashion , hanging out at the local hotspots Nadija is having to concern herself with loosing the roof over gears , stray bullets , friends that became enemies
survival , having to steal to survive but despite her dire circumstance she still manages to make you laugh at times and being humour to a tragic and traumatic time 🥲 it shows me the power of hope because without hope we have nothing …

I value and appreciate vulnerability and transparency, you know where you stand and Nadija put herself , her experiences and emotions on the line and shared her story and fir that I want to say thank you ! It’s so sad when innocents suffer at the hands of politicians and or leaders and every war has always been for that reason 🥲

I’ve just taken a deep shaky breath and said thank you again for the freedom I so often take for granted 🙏

The Synchronicity of Love: Stories that Heal, Transform, and Awaken by John David Latta is a collection of short stories that take us on a journey of spiritual awakening- Mr. Latta’s spiritual journey where he reveals all the ‘seeds’ that took root in his soul, allowing for his own transformation, one small seed of awareness at a time- completely changing his life. He shares his personal journey leaving his own ripe ‘seeds’ for us to gather, plant, and nurture in our own souls, to inspire changes in our own lives.
This is a book about contemplation, reflection, introspection, empowerment, meditation, shamanic journeying, healing, love, light, energy, soul wisdom, awareness of self/of spirit/of the cosmos, changes for the better, and other inspirational new age spiritual teachings.
Highly recommended for anyone on their own spiritual journey or who are looking at wanting to change their life or habits and are not sure how or where to start.
A well written, insightful, and thought-provoking read with life-changing potential.
Happy reading…

Thank you, John David Latta!

The Synchronicity of Love is a memoir based on one man’s journey as he worked to transform himself and his life after a series of devastating blows and losses. After standing by his wife through her cancer journey the author finds himself alone and now a single dad. He is severely in debt and finds himself sinking deeper into despair as he struggles with the debt and fear of not being a good enough parent to his children. He is angry at his wife for leaving him and consumed with the crippling fear of death coming for him. The author feels bitter, sad, distraught, and overwhelmed at the circumstances that he finds himself in. To move forward he finds ways to cope and goes to a retreat that leads him on a journey of Unconditional Love that transforms his life.

This was a beautifully written, poignant, and thought-provoking memoir that many will be able to relate to and find inspiration from. Many of the stories are open, honest, and filled with raw emotions that will have you reaching for the Kleenex. Others are inspirational, encouraging and will have you looking at your life in a whole new perspective. Overall, this collection will pull on your heartstrings and reach into the very depths of your soul as you take the tumultuous journey with the author through his transformation. I want to take this opportunity to say thank you to the author for your courage and strength in sharing your journey and innermost thoughts and feelings with us.

With healing, awakening, love, wisdom and so much more from John’s words and experience there is potential for change in everyone if you are willing to look and embrace something new.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This memoir was a little disjointed to me, with seemingly random thoughts and words mixed in which made little sense. I felt like the author is telling this story in an oddly detached way. Maybe things were lost in translation. Despite this fragmented feeling, I found myself connecting to the author, Nadija, and her family. Going from relative normalcy to an all out war in such a short time, Nadija’s life is changed so drastically. Being so young and having to experience such horrific events would have been extremely difficult; my heart broke for the innocence left in young Nadija that was so quickly ripped away. So much death, hatred, fear, and many, many bombs. This book shows the strength of the human spirit, the devastation along with the innocence, and the toughness to endure hardships and war. Overall, a good, nonfiction read.
