The Scent of Snow (The Winemakers Series) by Giovanna Siniscalchi – Review by Michaela Massie

The Scent of SnowThe Scent of Snow by Giovanna Siniscalchi
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

First, let me say that I highly recommend the Winemaker’s series by Giovanna Siniscalchi. It is the prelude to this wonderful little story and introduces all the characters and tells the majority of their stories.

The Scent of Snow is another absolutely beautiful historical romance set in Victorian Portugal. Pedro, Anne, and Anne’s family are together to celebrate the winter holidays. All is well until Pedro is haunted by the demons of his past, and he and Anne are forced to face the demons for their relationship to move forward and for them to find their true happiness.

This is an absolutely beautiful and wonderful continuation of Pedro and Anne’s love story, and I know I’ll be looking forward to anything that Giovanna writes in the future!!

This is a really lovely book that tells the love story of two people, Noah and Ebun.

Romance is hard. Love is difficult. What happens when you throw in a multiple cultures, threats, betrayal, death, suspense, and feelings of not being enough? You get a roller-coaster that is well worth the ride. This lovely story starts with the first chance meeting of Noah and Ebun in an airport, and their subsequent meetings after until they find love in each other’s hearts. While this was a little bit slower to read, it was absolutely beautiful and worth every minute!

This story is an absolute rollercoaster of a romance in the best and softest of ways. It includes many of the tropes that we all know and love when looking for more contemporary romance books: best friend’s little sister? Check. A too hot man with a heavy secret holding him back? Check. A sweet girl just pursuing her dreams? Check. A successful man with a bachelor reputation? Check. An amazing slow burn romance? Check.

Forbidden Blood (The Shadow Chronicles Book 4)Forbidden Blood by C.R. Robertson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Forbidden Blood (The Shadow Chronicles Book 4): This is the fourth book in the series, and while I usually suggest reading them in order, this book can stand alone. This is another wonderfully written piece of fantasy that I highly recommend taking the time to read!
This is Kimber and Fabian’s story: Kimber is a vampire with special powers, she is both an empath and a seer; she is able to feel read, sense, and feel other’s emotions, be it pain or joy and all in between, as well as see visions of the past and the future.
Fabian is Shaman; Shaman have used their magic for millennia to keep the balance between the worlds and the barriers strong. Although Shaman are supposed to only watch, he has always been more compassionate than his fellows, and it shows in his actions.
I don’t want to go into anymore detail, because this genuinely is a really good book and I don’t want to spoil anything for you! Please take a moment to read this wonderful piece!

This book of poetry is astonishing with how it combines so many things, with rhythm and rhyme, and so full of emotions. I highly suggest taking some time to sit, breathe, and read this.

Evan (Billionaire Blind Dates Book 2) by Toni Denise – Review by Michaela Massie

Evan (Billionaire Blind Dates #2)Evan by Toni Denise
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Let me start out by saying that this is the second installment of this amazing series, and I highly suggest you take the time to read Jake!
This book focuses on Evan, who we meet in the first book of the series. Evan is a silent backer of a dating business called “Blind Date”, which is owned by Kayla, a wonderful woman we also met in the first installment. Kayla and Evan have a good friendship, but that seems to be all, at least on the surface. Evan’s friends talk him into trying out the Blind Date, just as he had talked his friend Jake into doing. The rules stayed the same, four women would be chosen, one by each of Evan’s friends, and he would go on a blind date with all of them. Evan has a terrible experience with the first two dates, but the third seems so right to him, that he feels almost comfortable, almost familiar.
This is an amazing short and beautiful read, and I highly recommend that you take the time to read the first installment and keep your eyes open for the third book! I’ll be impatiently awaiting its release! <3
