Loved this book – second in this series (King of screen) and the first I have read by this author… I am definitely going back to read the first book.

This was a fun read and was a great light hearted romance that made the day pass quickly while i was engrossed in the book.

Amaleigha Loves a Good Story by Janice Pratt – Review by Michelle G

Amaleigha Loves a Good StoryAmaleigha Loves a Good Story by Janice Pratt
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Amaleigha is a back with her proven anything is possible attitude. Like the other book there are bright, colourful illustrations to hold children’s interest.

This story follows Amaleigha’s idea for her community. This book was fun and engaging and left the kids wanting more of Amaleigha.

Anything is possible – this book reinforces that belief. The illustrations were bright and colourful and the storyline was solid. The kids loved it and we ended up reading it a few times.

I must admit I enjoyed reading it as much as the kids did listening to it!

Let It Be Love (A Mustang Prairie Romance Book 5) by N.D. Jackson – Review by Michelle G

Let It Be Love (A Mustang Prairie Romance)Let It Be Love by N.D. Jackson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Loved this read! Nice, easy afternoon curled up in front of fire. I haven’t read anything by N D Jackson previously and i really enjoyed this book. On further investigation this is the 5th book in the series. Having said that it is a stand alone story of Kiki and Eric.

The storyline is well written and I loved the small town setting. I’d love to say Kiki was relatable but I’m no pop star. I loved the strong character development throughout the book. I couldn’t relate to Kiki’s famousness; however I felt I could relate to her wanting a normal life. The chance to experience falling in love like everyday, non-famous people!

Loved this read and highly recommend it.

Jake the Growling Dog Shares His Trail (Jake the Growling Dog Book 3) by Samantha Shannon – Review by Michelle G

Jake the Growling Dog Shares His TrailJake the Growling Dog Shares His Trail by Samantha Shannon
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

My 11 year old daughter is having trouble with her reading. She saw me reading this and asked if she could try it. I asked her what about this book had made her ask. She said that the pictures made her want to read it. We read the book together. She was engaged and enjoyed it. Not only was it entertaining but it had underlying messaging around disability awareness, that you don’t have to go through things alone and how to face your fears. It was great to see her excited to read a book for once. I have found out that there are a couple more Jake books so will be reading them with her too. It was a good wholesome book with great messaging. Highly recommend.

Distant Memories: A Nurse Morgan Series: Book TwoDistant Memories: A Nurse Morgan Series: Book Two by Kate MacInnis
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Nurse Morgan is back in another new paranormal romance. Just as funny and quirky as the first and loved it from first page to last. One of those books that makes you LOL and has something for everyone…. a bit of drama; some spooky interludes and a dash of romance thrown in. Kate has done an excellent job with the Nurse Morgan books. I love them and will keep an eye out for any future Nurse Morgan escapades.

Distant Heart Sounds (Nurse Morgan #1)Distant Heart Sounds by Kate MacInnis
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the first in the Nurse Morgan series. I was a bit hesitant having read the overview of it but it didn’t fail to impress. Loved it from the first page to the last. Having worked in the medical field I wasn’t sure I would enjoy it – but I did! I am looking forward to seeing what Nurse Morgan gets up to in book 2! It has some great LOL moments that kept me reading well into the early hours of the morning.

Oliver, A Story of Adoption by Lois Wickstrom – Review by Michelle G

Oliver: A Story about AdoptionOliver: A Story about Adoption by Lois Wickstrom
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I loved this story. It explained adoption in easy to understand terms for kids! Most importantly the messaging was that it doesn’t matter whether you live with adopted parents or birth parents so long as they love you. A cute, engaging read!
