I recommend you read books 1-3 first so you will understand this book.
We pick up where book three left off, we continue with Friday Fitzsimmons, and her journey. In this story we see her mature greatly. You will enjoy this read, well done by author Mina Chara!

Hero High: Heartbreak Rebellion is the 2nd collection in the Hero High series. It is books 4-6, but reading it, I didn’t realize it was 3 separate books. There doesn’t seem to be an ending or a beginning of the next. This collection should be read after the first 3 books, as it picks up where those left off. I really enjoy this series. At first it seems cheesy, but it is wonderfully written. There is a great story line, so many characters, and a perfect balance. There is a little bit of romance, some sadness, a lot of action, its a perfect blend. It is really creative, a whole world and back story has been created. Each hero has their own unique powers and their own back story. I liked this part of the story because we get to see Friday mature. She isn’t just a scared high school kid, she is becoming her own person. She is learning to control her power and understand and own her feelings. She is standing up for what she believes and becomes a leader. I highly recommend this series, and look forward to more from this author.

I have read a few books from this author and she continues to blow my mind. This has been one of my favorite series of this year. I can see this turning into a television series or movies. These characters suck you into their world like you never left. This is the collection of books four through six. The names of these books are Depression, Acceptance, and Hero. You do need to read the first three books to understand what is going on. I was so excited when I got this book I stopped everything and started to read it immediately and I read it all the way through. It only took me a few hours to devour this addictive book.

Friday is still learning how to be a great superhero. She loves going to her school but the crime is getting worse and she doesn’t know why. Friday gets an unexpected visit from a well known villain and he tells her some top secret information that changes everything in her new life. She also is now on a new team and she meets Luke which is a nice guy but even though Ashley is a villain she still cares for him. Will Friday find out why the crime is increasing or is danger lurking right in front of her?

Hero High: Heartbreak Rebellion by Mina Chara is the second collection of this great series. This collection contains books 4- Depression, 5- Acceptance, and 6- Hero. In my opinion you have to read each book in order, that way you get the full effect. I have read each of the books and the storyline just keeps building. This book picks up with Friday waking up from her coma. She’s got her life planned for her by her producers but will Friday let them tell her how to live her life? Read this series to see what you’re missing!

I really liked reading Hero High: Heartbreak Rebellion (Hero High Collections Book 2) by Mina Chara. It is a set of stories that had me hooked from the start. This set picks up where the last left off so i would recommend reading this series in order. Friday is such an awesome main character, i absolutely loved her. She is relatable because she is strong but emotional and i loved that. SO much happens in this set and i couldnt put it down. There was secrets and drama and so much action and evilness, i was on the edge of my seat. The author did such a great job with this set and i am excited to see what else this author puts out! I would recommend to a friend! Happy Reading!

Hero High: Heartbreak Rebellion (Hero High Collections Book 2) by Mina Chara – Review by Francis O’Sullivan

Heartbreak Rebellion (Hero High, #4)Heartbreak Rebellion by Mina Chara
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Heartbreak Rebellion collects books 4-6 of Mina Chara’s Hero High series. It’s the second collection, following on from Figure In The Flames. The story follows young superhero Friday “Fitz” Fitzsimmons, who lives in a world where superheroes’ lives are the subject of reality TV and everything, from her clothes to her love life, is carefully chosen for her.
Fitz relies on the glitzy celebrity life to support herself and her sister. And she gets the training and resources to put her powers to good use and save the day. As a superhero fangirl herself, she can cope with the more commercial side of things. But she is forced to reconsider as she discovers that things might not be quite as they seem, and that the battles she is fighting may not be as justified as she thought.
This is a great series for young adults who enjoy superheroes. It’s critical of celebrities and media, and unpicks the apparent clear-cut binary of good and evil. Fitz is a fun protagonist and there are plenty of good supporting characters – I particularly like Lisa who’s very down-to-earth and balances being a superhero with looking after young children.
For me, this is a five-star book. An exciting story with plenty of twists and turns as well as fantastic action scenes! I’d recommend starting with the first collection to encounter the world of Hero High for the first time alongside Fitz.

Hero High:: Heartbreak Rebellion (Hero High Collections Book 2) by Mina Chara

Chara has done it again! Hero High is an amazing series and I hope there’s more. If I could give this more than 5 stars then I would. If you like Fantasy this is the book for you.

Friday, Fitz, is left with the fact that Ashley is no longer at Hero High. Then things change. Villains aren’t villains? Things aren’t what they seem. The quote I chose for Friday is: “And how’s that supposed to work? That’s not a conclusion! Fine me all you want, I’m not finishing your show!”

Ashley, Dr. Dangerous, is moved to the villain school. His mother is back in the picture, but she’s not exactly what you can call nice. His mother starts controlling people including him. The quote I chose for Ashley is: “Even if I wanted to help, Friday, I can’t. I’m surprised you’re even talking to me.”

Highly recommended for Fantasy lovers.

Hero High: Heartbreak Rebellion by Mina Chara is the second collection of this great series. This collection contains books 4- Depression, 5- Acceptance, and 6- Hero. You must read the first three books in the series first because each book is a continuation, and they all build on each other. Friday Fitzsimmons is a wonderful, realistic character. She has grown so much since the first book in the series. I love that her life hasn’t been easy, and she is often faced with tough decisions to make which have consequences. Imagine finding out you have special powers as a teen and that you are meant to be a hero or a villain. As if the teen years are not difficult enough. This is a fun, exciting series that is well thought out and not the same old story rehashed. I look forward to reading more from this author in the future.

Hero High: Figure In The Flames (HERO HIGH Collections Book 1) by Mina Chara

This is the first book I’ve read like this. Chara knows how to write a damn good book. Hero High is an amazing book with many twists and turns. It’s a highly recommended book!

Friday, aka Fitz, isn’t anyone special. Or so she thinks. She goes to Hero High with her friend, but it turns out she doesn’t know him all that well. She finds it hard to fit in. The quote I chose for Friday is: “Because I could be a better person. I will be a better person.”

Ashley, The Captain’s mentee, isn’t who everyone thinks he is. He’s the new Dr. Dangerous, but is he bad? All he wants is to get revenge for his father, but Fitz keeps getting in the way. The quote I chose for Ashley is: “Eat your soup, Fitz.”

I do highly recommend this for anyone and everyone!

This is the 2nd collection of books in the Hero High Series. The story of Friday continues in these fast paced books. I have loved all the books in this series and the twists and turns keeps you gripped. As the books progress its great to see Friday mature as as a person.

After waking up from her coma everything for Friday has changed. Her best friend for life Jane is in prison for attacking her, her love interest Ashley has been removed to villain school because of his father and Friday has now become popular.

As the demand on Friday grows she begins to realise that being a hero isn’t as great as she thought due to the TV series input. Will she follow along to keep her fame and popularity or will she go against them and be the true hero she always dreamed of being.

With new pressures and a new love interest on the scene Friday has matured and grown and now has to make a decision about what type of hero she wants to be.

This is a YA Fantasy, written for our Young Adults. Welcome to Super Hero High School.

Friday Fitzsimmons is right in the middle between stardom and hidden secrets behind the school. Along with the school, is the truths behind Hero T.V. and Icon City Jail. While she is looking for adventure, having choices taken from her, was not what she expected. She just wanted to enjoy high school. This story will open up a whole new world for Friday. Her love, her loss and an unexpected adventure.

Mina Chara, the author, has written this fast paced fantasy. Hero High, Heartbreak Rebellion, is quite a story! I love all the characters, but Friday is my favorite. Mina Chara has done a great job with this fantasy. I think it is just right for those teenage readers, as well as the adult readers. Such a fun suspenseful story. Well Done Mina Chara! Well Done!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Hero High: Heartbreak Rebellion by Mina Chara a thrilling five-star collection. This rebellion contains novels number four, five and six in the series and they are titled Depression, Acceptance and Hero and they all tell is a different part of the story, because of the storyline I would definitely advise you check out books one, two and three before this collection as the build the world is sublime and you would miss that if you missed the first stories. Friday is a sublime character, much like the day, they brings it all together, the difference I noticed with these three was a darker edge to Friday, like the clouds had darkened threatening bad times, they were also faster paced stories, maybe its because I know the characters better but there was an extra depth to the story that I adored.

Another winner from Chara. I love this series and this next collection is a must own if you’ve enjoyed any of the other installments. This storyline is a bit darker than its predecessors but in a way that fits the character development and overall story arc. I have really enjoyed getting to know Friday and following her throughout each book. This is a series worthy of owning in total. Once you start one you will want the rest.

Hero High: Heartbreak Rebellion (Hero High Collections Book 2) by Mina Chara was kind of a slow start for me, but once I got to the halfway point it was really fast paced. Friday is just a young girl and doesn’t really know how she is supposed to feel about things. She has just reached the threshold of adulthood and she is trying to figure it all out. I did catch myself once or twice wanting to just grab hold of her and shake her real good. It’s a good little story with a little unique twist on the whole superhero/villain narrative. I think you might like it, I did.

These adventures are books 4-6 in the Hero High Collections. One should read books 1-3 to get the meaning behind these books. The books are full of action and romance. The characters are fully developed and well written for these adventures. The story’s main character Friday is back. She makes these stories so real. She has a high adventurous soul that makes the story move faster. The stories are based in a high school/tv series. Fridays have adventures which include action, mysteries, and danger around every corner. Being that this is a YA book there is a little romance mixed into the stories Can Friday keep going or will she give up? I highly recommend this collection.

This is Books 4-6 in the Hero High series, I would recommend reading the first three books before reading these. I loved the series from the start. Following Fridays journey has been a whirlwind for sure, she’s a easy to like character and you will have a instant like for her. Mina Chara is a great Author, she’s very good at keeping the readers attention, the books are and the shorter side but you feel as if it’s a full length story and are not left with any missing links like I’ve found in some shorter books. This one isn’t as light hearted and hero-ey as the last ones. In here we get into the nitty gritty of the show and the school. I am saddened it has lost its flair for fun times. This one seems more serious. The characters are mostly the same with a couple added in.

While it the ending to the story I think it focuses too much on messages and the story gets lost in the mix.

Hero High: Heartbreak Rebellion (Hero High Collections Book 2) by Mina Chara was another great read in the building series. I love Friday and seeing her character develop and grow was really great to experience. We’ve been there from the beginning and at this point the experiences are getting darker and aren’t as much fun. There are still questions left to answer but you do get a lot in this as well. This Boxset of three books continues on from ‘Hero High, Collections Book 1, Figure In The Flames’ and we are back in the world of Icon City and with out feisty heroine Friday Fitzsimmons. The prologue at the beginning gives a recap of what happened to the world and how Icon City came about, which is also useful for new readers to the series. In Icon City power and fame are everything above integrity which Friday finds difficult. Friday must decide whether to go for the celebrity stardom which is within her grasp or follow her conscious as crime and corruption spreads throughout Icon City. The Hero Channel control every aspect of Friday’s life from the clothes she wears to who she will date, but when she uncovers the secret behind Hero TV and it’s connection to the Icon City jail she must choose which path to take. Torn between her feelings for the villainous Doctor Dangerous and Luke, a new team member Friday must use her supernatural abilities to save the school she loves and stop the Heartbreak Rebellion.
I have enjoyed this fast paced romantic/urban fantasy series so far and was not disappointed by this collection of three books. I liked being able to ‘binge read’ them one after the other which made me feel completely immersed in Icon City. I love the main character’s, both the hero’s/heroines and the villains as they all add to the story. I particularly like Friday, who really brings the whole series together and I find myself rooting for her throughout each book. The plot has plenty of action in it which had me gripped from beginning to end and I enjoyed being back with Friday in Icon City. The City really comes alive thanks to the authors wonderful world building. Escapism in a book, perfect for YA and adults alike.

Hero High: Heartbreak Rebellion (Hero High Collections Book 2) by Mina Chara is three books in one in this Young Adult fantasy series. It is fast paced, and a lot happens as we follow along with the students, future heroes and past heroes and villains who also happen to be on a television reality show as well. As this is the next three books in the series it would be remiss of me if I didn’t tell you to read the first three first. Friday grows in this collection and finds herself in situations and making tough decisions she would not have before. Whether you are young or old you will enjoy this series.

Heartbreak Rebellion (Hero High, #4)Heartbreak Rebellion by Mina Chara
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the next stage in the story of Friday Fitzsimmons, as she prepares to re-enter the life of Icon City and her second year at Hero High. In the prologue we recap over why Hero High was founded and how the Hero’s and their opposing villains came to receive their powers.

We then join Friday as she recovers from some injuries and tries to get her life back in some semblance of order. She is in her room in the dorms when Ashley comes to her window to see her, although they aren’t supposed to, they still enjoy spending time together. They decide to visit the Hero Museum and Friday shows off her knowledge of Hero trivia, through this they learn more about each other as well.

As the story moves on, we join her at her 18th birthday party where she catches up with friends and is surrounded by celebrations, as well as the fans of the Hero Channel who have followed her story from the beginning. Veronica appears and leads her away from the party and into the mall to pick out a few bits and pieces of her choice from both her own merchandise, those of her team and the other Heroes and villains. Friday does this and when finished she sees that Veronica is joined by someone else, she is then introduced to Luke, a student at Hero High. Friday finds out that they will be working together a lot during the season and is led to the offices to sign her new contract. After she signs it, she is given her new clothing requirements and her lines for the next week.

What she doesn’t realise is that the filming for the first scene has already begun at the party, as her teammates run towards her, they see that one of the villains has appeared at the top of the party’s ferris wheel. As they go to stop the villain, they realise that they are being filmed and that it is all just a set up. As Friday finds the device that the villain has hidden, it is apparent that Luke knew it was a set up from the start and continues with his lines as though Friday was doing the same. This leads to an argument with Veronica about it and the realisation that she and Luke are meant to be love interests this season.

The next day, Friday goes to try and visit Jake in prison with Captain Fantastic, as usual, she is refused, but she does hear something that doesn’t seem quite right, this is where she and the Captain discover the biggest secret that the Hero TV channel has. They are both shocked and in disbelief that this is actually happening and as they learn about what has been happening, they make a decision together to investigate what is really happening.

What will this revelation mean for her, the Captain and the school? Who is behind it all and how will it affect their lives? What about Luke and Ashley, how will this affect their relationships, both working and personal? Can Friday keep up with the demands of the show, the fame, the power and the stardom and all the while keep her integrity in place, or will she comply with the way her life has been mapped out for the season?

The only way to find out what happens is to read on and let your emotions go on this latest whirlwind ride through Icon City.

Hero High: Heartbreak Rebellion is the second book in the Hero High Collections by Mina Chara. This collection is books 4-6 and I enjoyed these books as much as I did when reading the third book in the series. The story takes place in Iron City where crime seems to be on the rise. Friday Fitzsimmons is part of the Hero Channel and sees stardom on the horizon. Unfortunately, fame comes with a price; her whole life is controlled by the producers. Friday really struggles with a secret she uncovers about the ties between Hero TV and the Iron City jail. On top of that she is having a hard time deciding between her interest in Doctor Dangerous, a villain in the city, or her new team member Luke. This story was a nice quick read with a good mixture of fantasy and romance. Friday is pretty kick ass in my opinion and I think she is a really good main character in this story.

Hero High: Heartbreak Rebellion is a collection of stories within the Hero High series from Mina Chara. These three books are actually books four, five, and six in the series so I would personally recommend reading the first set of books in the series so you know where and what is going on with the characters. This is a really neat premise of books and I have really enjoyed reading the stories since the beginning. Fitzsimmons is traversing Icon City and her Hero High. The unique spin on this is the tv show the characters have to be involved in. I can’t really give much more because I would fear ruining some of the good stories that are there but this is one you don’t want to miss. I love the fast pace the stories read at and the lack of over detailing that sometimes can be in fantasy or sci fi type novels. This series will have you sitting on the edge of your seat and guessing and hoping that your theories are right. I am anxious to see what else we will get next from Mina Chara and if there will be more books in the Hero High series.

Hero High: Figure In The Flames by Mina Chara . I have loved this series. Its not my usual genre but I have completely fallen in love with this set. Each book is a story of Friday Fitzsimmons who has just realized she has super powers and is sent to Hero High, a school for kids with super powers set in the futuristic city of Icon. She is also recorded 24/7 on Hero’s Highs tv channel Hero TV. The producers of the channel have her life all worked out for her from what she wears to who she hangs out with. She is also learning how to use the super powers she has found. When she finds out that Hero TV has a lot of corruption behind it she is struggling with just going along with the producers and letting them make her famous to finding out what’s really going on. Each book has mystery, suspense and love and they will take you on a crazy ride. Will Friday solve the mystery before the life she loves is destroyed or will she save Hero HIgh? Read the Hero HIgh series to find out. I do recommend reading the first books to get a general feel of the characters and places.

I was once again diving into the super hero world and not disappointed. I really like how the author has taken the story and expanded on it. The whole concept of the super heros being filmed is quite unique. The characters really jump off of the page and draw in the reader. I was not able to put this book down.

I was glad to be able to follow more of Friday’s journey. I like how the author was able to draw out the story and add a few twists and turns. I found that I felt as though I was there and seeing the drama play out. I really look forward to reading more from this author.

Heartbreak Rebellion is part of the Hero High series by Mina Chara. If you haven’t already, I would recommend starting this series from the beginning, otherwise you will be a little lost.
The story picks back up with Friday, who is still recovering from the last battle. She finds herself with a new love interest and thrust into the limelight once again. As her fame grows Friday finds herself in turmoil with some tough decisions to make. She finds it hard to know who to trust.
I love the character of Friday and you really get to see her grow up in this book. She has to stand on her own two feet a little more.
If you’re already a fan of this series there are lots of familiar faces. As always the story is action packed and fast paced. This was probably my favourite book of the series so far.
