Winter’s Mage (The Outcast Mage Series Book #2) by Miriam Greystone – Review by Angela Hayes

Winter's Mage (The Outcast Mage, #2)Winter’s Mage by Miriam Greystone
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Winter’s Mage is the second book in The Outcast Mage Series by Miriam Greystone. It is an epic Urban Fantasy that’s packed full of action, adventure, mystery, magic, danger, mages, and mythical creatures.
We met Amy (Asa) in the first book, Truthsight. She is a Doctor, but also a very powerful Mage, with the gift of Truthsight. She had been unable to use her gift, because in doing so she would be discovered and then executed (I won’t go into more detail because I don’t want to spoil it for you if you haven’t read it yet). But when a patient’s life hangs in the balance, Amy has no choice but to use her powers. She doesn’t regret saving the mother and newborn, even though doing so gets her captured. But before she can be executed, she is saved by Rowan, who had his own agenda at the time. But, situations arise which sees them setting off on an adventure and has them joining forces with mythological creatures, to fight the forces pitted against them.
This story picks up a while after the events of book one. Amy is still recovering from her ordeal, but life is beginning to return to ‘normal’. Until she tries helping a cursed creature and ends up afflicted herself. Now it’s a race against time to find a cure.
As expected, Ms. Greystone wove her magic throughout this spellbinding story, it exceeded all my expectations, and then some. I loved the first book so much, and this one is every bit as good.
Ms. Greystone has created a complex, vividly detailed and exciting storyline- seamlessly blending the human world with that of the mythical/supernatural realms. She bought it all to life- using the power of her words alone. The characters are all fantastic- fully developed with their own personalities, quirks and flaws. I love them all. It was great to find out more about Jason, too.
The story is fast paced, and action packed. It’s addictive reading that I couldn’t put down till the very last word! I read it in one sitting.
A fantastic second instalment to an excellent series!
I can’t wait for more from this talented author.

Thank you, Ms. Greystone!

Truthsight (Outcast Mage Book 1) by Miriam Greystone – Review by Jenni Bishop

Truthsight (Outcast Mage #1)Truthsight by Miriam Greystone
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Truthsight (Outcast Mage Book 1) by Miriam Greystone is the first book in the series and is great. Miriam’s magical world is a unique take on paranormal romance. The creatures are different and wondrous, from mythical creatures such as Centaurs and Leshies, Pixies and Gnomes to Mages and magical powers. Dr. Amy, who is a magical healer and who has the power of Truthsight, helps save the creatures who come for help. But the evil is let loose and she is being hunted. Will she be able to keep all those she cares about safe or will they fall prey to the evil? This book was hard to put down and had me enthralled from start to finish. It is a refreshing change on from the norm of paranormal. Miriam has weaved an amazing tale of fantasy, paranormal and romance..

I am looking forward to the next book in this world.

Winter’s Mage (Outcast Mage Book 2) by Miriam Greystone is the second book in the series and is great series. Miriam’s writing is spot on and everything is a wonder to read, from the characters, to the magical world and creatures she has created. The fighting, the wonder, the betrayal, the truth, the lies make this book hard to put down. Just when you start to think you know where the story is going, then BAM you are twisted around and off on another route. Miriam’s words just flow from the page and brings to it, it’s to life, she is truly master of her craft.

I am looking forward to the next book. So get to it and grab a copy of Truthsight and begin your journey, one which you will not be disappointed in.

Magic Cries (Echoes #2) by Miriam Greystone – Review by Jenni Bishop

Magic Cries (Echoes #2)Magic Cries by Miriam Greystone
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Magic Cries is the second book in the Echoes series by Miriam Greystone and doesn’t disappoint. It is full of magic and wonder, mystery and deceit, love and heartbreak, action and drama and a great follow on from the first book. In this book we see a lot of stories interwoven with others to make a whole. Each character’s story is told from their POV and each has a part to play towards the climax you never saw coming.

Jake is better but he is not well, having an addiction never goes away but he has been trying to be strong for Molly. Molly is still coming to terms with understanding just what she is and has decided what matters in life and what she will do to keep that.

There were a few tears shed whilst reading this story and from the ending there is more to come. I can’t wait for the next book!!

Magic Calls (Echoes #1) by Miriam Greystone – Review by Jenni Bishop

Magic Calls (Echoes #1)Magic Calls by Miriam Greystone
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Magic Calls is the first book in the Echoes series by Miriam Greystone and the first book I have read by this author and I am impressed. Magic Calls is very well written and shows Miriam’s creativity and imagination, in this paranormal fantasy. You are taken on a journey with mythical creatures and their will to live with the on coming war see you wanting to stand beside them.

Molly loves to sing, singing is her life, it takes away all the pain and fills her with joy. But now she has just found out that she is more than she has ever known. More than even they thought possible. Treachery and lies have shown that no one is safe, nowhere is safe. Safety as she knew it, is no longer a possibility. Standing together they may just have a fighting chance.

Magic Calls is a must read for paranormal book lovers. Even if you are not and looking for a change then this is a book to do it. I am awaiting eagerly for the next book.

Truthsight by Miriam Greystone – Review by Anna Hirsch

Truthsight by Miriam Greystone
5 Stars

Miriam Greystone weaves an enchanting tale of ancient supernatural creatures. The characters and their stories are so real it’s as if you are there beside them. I was intrigued from the moment I started the book and remained enthralled until the very end. I couldn’t put the book down, needing to know what would happen next. I loved the fact that she used mythical creatures such as centaurs, pixies and gnomes instead of the usual vampires and werewolves. She even introduced a creature from Slavic folklore which really impressed me. Her research on all the creatures was spot on which added depth to not only the characters but the story as well. I loved the book.

Amy is a doctor who turned her barn into a night clinic for all the creatures that live in the forest. Her patients includes pixies, gnomes, trolls, harpies and even centaurs. Amy is a Mage and healer. She has the power of truthsight which allows her to see the real you. The part which you hide away from the world, your true self. She has been on the run for years with mages hunting her. When she taps into her power to save the foal of a centaur, she knows they will find her.

After being captured, waiting to be executed, a creature rescues her. Hearing about her abilities to heal, he knows she’s his only hope of saving his father. Things don’t go according to plan and both their lives end up in danger. All creatures must stand together to fight a common enemy and save not only Amy but themselves as well.
