I have read a lot of books this year and this is in my top 10 favorites for sure but I’m a sucker for an awesome billionaire boss story and this author writes a great one. The characters are complex and their story is one that hasn’t been over done In my opinion. I really enjoyed my time with their story. There’s enough twists to keep you on your toes and I found myself wanting to know what would happen next as fast as possible. I was completely hooked and I was sad to leave these characters at the end but I’m excited to see where the author goes from here. It’s well written and kept me completely captured definitely giving this one five stars! Highly recommended!

I absolutely LOVED this book! From beginning to end I was completely hooked. I honestly could not believe that this was the authors debut novel! This makes me very excited to read future books from her – absolutely outstanding writing! I just loved every single minute of it. Remi and Audri – the tension between them was just amazing, I could feel it coming off the pages as I read. I do love a forbidden romance, and this one was definitely that! The storyline was complex but not so much that it was difficult to read, the author did an amazing job with making sure everything flowed really well. I am definitely going to be waiting in anticipation for more from this author and I absolutely would recommend this book to other readers!

This book The Mastermind by Nadia Han started out with a BANG hahaha. But forreal this book was so freaking good.I really didn’t want to but it down and was annoyed when I kept getting interrupted 🤣 . It had everything: Love, Action, and A plot twist. The Mastermind is the first book in the WaterFyre series by Nadia Han. This is also her debut title, which is pretty impressive! As someone who has been actively exploring the romance genre, I really appreciated this story! The story centers around Audri Wu and one of her brother’s best friends, Remington (Remi). Remi not only brings the sexy, but he also brings a lot of dark, dangerous and suspenseful vibes to the story as Audri tries to navigate one of the oldest taboos…don’t mess with your brother’s best friend! Definitely recommend this title as it’s a nice mixture of suspense and sexy. Looking forward to more of this series!

The Mastermind is not your typical brother’s best friend romance story. He is also a billionaire and the new boss. The suspense, the intrigue and the mystery are intricately and cleverly woven together to give the reader an intense read. The plot had me eagerly turning the pages waiting to see how it all unfolds. The story has a little bit of everything from danger and deadly secrets, lies and drama, tragedy, angst and let’s not forget the push/pull romance.
Remington Starke is living with a past that has tormented him and has kept him in a dark place. He knows he shouldn’t but she has always been his light but she is off limits. Now he is back and wonders if there could be more.
I look forward to seeing what Nadia gives us next.

Wow! What a read this was. I really am at a loss for words but wanted to try and get my thoughts out while still fresh and I can’t even form a cohesive sentence without gushing about how great this story was.
This author draws you right in and you are taken through the emotional ups and downs and loops until you are trying to turn the page and there is no more pages left. I will be reading more by this author and cannot wait for the second in this series.

I’m always up for a best friend/little sister romance and then author throws some suspense in the mix, you know you will love it! She does an amazing job right from the beginning grabbing our interest and drawing you in quickly. The characters are easy to connect to and you love them from the start. This my first read by this author and I’m in lust with this book and can’t wait to read more of this amazing series.

This book was great from beginning to end. I love the friendship Remi has had with his closest friends since they were so young. Those boys will always have each others backs. Remi has grown up to accomplish anything he put his Mind to no matter what it is. He’s a very rich man who still loves the simple things life has to offer. Remi has come back to his hometown for business and aside from Audri being there, so are so many other memories he may not want to remember. This book kept me on the edge of my seat wondering what will happen next. I highly recommend this book and am Glad to have stumbled across this author. Cannot wait for more!

Romance with a thrilling twist This was brilliantly written. Remi and Audri are amazingly characters – well developed and with underlying flaws that made them so real and relatable. The story is multilayered with suspense and drama that kept me vested right until the end. Starts as a best friend’s sister romance but moves in to so much more. A strong first book in the series (can be read as a stand-alone) and I can’t wait to read more about the Waterfyre Men.

The Mastermind : A Brother’s Best Friend Romance (WaterFyre Rising Book 1)
I am once again amazed by a first time author and their debut. I was hooked from the very beginning and had a hard time putting it down. I dropped my kindle on my face a few times because I had to keep going.
This book had a little bit of everything and several twists that I didn’t come close to expecting which may have made me enjoy it that much more since so often books can be predictable.
Remington and Audri are more than perfect together. They had a lot to deal with, more than the normal couple to get to their moment.
The sparks were flying from my kindle as I read the beginning of Grayson’s house warming party, the description of the car was perfectly detailed and just wow.
There is so much more I could say but won’t since most of it pertains to certain pivotal moments. What I will say is be ready to be surprised, there is nothing typical about this book.
This is an author I will be looking forward to reading again in the future.

Nadia has brought the characters in life and the book isn’t what is seems by the title! She has found a new way to bring us the brother’s best friend romance type book! I love a story that draws you in. This is just that story. Remington is not only dangerous, he has a past that is about to catch up with him. Audri is also hiding secrets, yet she is up beat, creative as well as cautious. One is a sister, the other is her brother’s best friend. Neither one of them wants or desires a romance or the commitment that lies in the waiting.There you have it! No Spoilers! That is all I needed to read this suspenseful romance. The story is fast paced and keeps you reading until the very end. Leaving you wanting so much more from this author and this new series. Every emotion will be brought forth in this story. What an explosive and forbidden story. This is the first book that I have read from the author, and I was not disappointed. I was completely and utterly hooked on the book right from the beginning and loved every second about it. It’s very intriguing and the mystery really draws you in. The characters are what really makes the story come alive. The author has done an amazing job of creating the story. It is well written and the development throughout the book is amazing. I loved how she portrayed the characters and the journey they are on. I’m excited to see where the author takes the story as she continues the series.

Implant she works for and soon realizes she isn’t so little any more.
Audri Wu, is just a girl trying to find her way, she’s tired of breaking her back for a company that doesn’t respect her, but is unwilling to rely on the money that her brother tries to provide for her. With a passion for making beautiful jewelry, she’s just trying to find a way to make her passion her full time job. After years apart, both having grown up quite a bit, Audri and Remington cannot deny the burning attraction they have for one another. Unfortunately dark secrets and even darker dangers from their past and present seem to be following them both closely. I’m pretty big on alpha male romances, and this one did not disappoint in that aspect, the fight for Remi to deny Audri the one thing he wants most, made my toes curl with anticipation the entire book. I love that the author made Audri soft and vulnerable, but strong willed and career minded at the same time. I love a strong male lead but I LOVE a stronger female MC. This book does all that an more, with a dash of suspense, due to hidden secrets and dark past to add spice to a book that could solely be a romance brings this book to a whole new level.
This is the first book from this series and from this author!! I’m very excited to explore the world she creates and to get to get to know all the WaterFyre men a lot better.

This book was really good, but it also wasn’t my favorite. I hate it, because I wanted to love it so much and it just fell short to me. I loved the characters, and the sexual tension was amazing. But what got to me was the internal monologue of both characters, and then the sex scenes just felt super awkward to me, and I just didn’t connect to the story like how I wanted to. The plot was amazing, and the whole video game idea was very interesting. I enjoyed this novel, I just didn’t love it and I hate that I didn’t because as stated above the story is great. I will definitely read the next installment of this standalone series though!

This is the fantastic first book in a series that looks like being a cracker. This is an author that was totally new to me but I was totally sold by the blurb. It sounded like it was exactly the type of book that I’d really enjoy. Sexy billionaire, brother’s best friend – what more do you need? Remington (Remi) Starke is a dark brooding sexy billionaire with the world at his feet. Audri Wu is his best friend Grayson’s little sister who is struggling to come to terms with events from her childhood that changed her life. This isn’t just a contemporary romance story. There is so much more to it. It has the added bonus of being a romantic suspense story with loads of drama, danger and intrigue that totally keep you gripped to the story wanting to know how the story will unravel. Let’s just say that the author has a few surprises that might just throw you. If you are a fan of the romance part of a story then I can assure you that this story is hot and steamy and does not lack at all in the romance stakes. I really loved this book and can’t wait to see what the author has in store for the other guys in the WaterFyre Rising world.

This book is book one of the series. It’s the first book I’ve read by this author but I was blown away!
Audri, despite being plagued with guilt, is the purest soul. She’s so sweet, determined, hard working. Remington is her older brothers best friend. He’s driven, intense, successful. As they spend more time together, it’s harder to ignore the chemistry. In the background, there are lots of secrets and a lot of suspense.
I could not get enough of this book! It has everything! I loved Audri’s character. She was very self-assured but also had moments of insecurity that was very relatable. Remi was so intense. The absolute definition of alpha with his inherent need to protect those close to him. I highly recommend!

What a great way to start the series and debut for the artist, it was a great 5 star read. I was done before I knew it.
Remi, oh Remi where to start with this main. He is a hot alpha with a dangerous streak. Due to a bad experience early on in life, he has no desire to have a relationship with a woman. But when his bestfriends sister comes back into the picture will he be able to keep his walls up? Audris new boss is Remi, her brother’s best friend. The more time they spend together the hotter the sparks and chemistry get. Will they give into their desire?
Overall we get danger, mystery and so much more. There are several twists and turns. All of the characters added a great element to the story and I can’t wait to read the rest of the series to get to know the brothers better. I really loved both characters. This is a story that took me on NUMEROUS ups and downs and twists and turns! It really kept me on the edge of my seat and reading late into the night. I really enjoyed all the character development as well. This is slated as a brothers best friend and billionaire boss story. I would disagree with that..oh it has a touch of those elements but I feel it is more of a romantic suspense story. Each of the lead characters has a problematic past. Remi and Audri do have that push and pull because of their joint childhood and her brother which I loved.
Overall I really enjoyed this one! I loved the characters, the dramatic suspense plus that sexy romance between the alpha male and his desired lady. One of my favorites things is the whole backstory to these boys/friends. What a wonderful idea to base these books on. I am hoping each of the guys creating the game will get a story! I am SO looking forward to it!

The Mastermind is a contemporary romance about a self-made brilliant billionaire, Remi. This is book 1 in the series, but it is a stand alone. Remi was a genius from a young age and a millionaire by the time he was a teen. After his mother’s death, his father remarried and life changed forever. No longer did he feel loved or wanted, but that fueled him to work hard and find a way to ensure a future for himself. It all starts with his friends (more like family to him) and him skipping school and witnessing something that they should have, but ultimately changes the course of their lives. This started a path of secrets that Remi will have to keep. In all of these successes and secrets, Remi has become seen as a dark hearted individual, however, his best friend’s sister has always seen something more. Now that they are both successful and adults, they are starting to see each other in a different light, partly due to her own demons that she holds. The two of them decide to blur the boundaries and try to find the light through all the dark that they are. Will light and dark be able to find that balance to create more than coldness, to create love?
This was my first book by this author and I really enjoyed it. It gave a contemporary romance a bit of an edge and I was here for it. One, the storyline had twists and turns throughout and I loved the process of trying to figure it all out. Two, the characters were great. Remi, although has a rough exterior, was an amazing leading man. He was demanding, protective, but seeing his vulnerable side peek through you just couldn’t help but fall in love with him. Audri was just as equally amazing as the leading lady. She was driven, confident, creative, intelligent, and straight forward. Her patience and love for Remi, along with her confident, adventurous side was something we could learn from. I look forward to reading more of this series.

A steamy romance with a whodunnit plot “The Mastermind” is a powerful read that keeps you pulled in and wanting more. The character development and relationships were so thick and poignant that you were able to seriously envision the back and forth banter, love, and tribulations described throughout. The plot was a typically mystery where some scenes had you holding your breath. The ending of the book is so satisfying and will leave you wanting more from the author. Absolutely recommend!

Will they finally let each other in? Will they ever get past the friend zone? What dark secrets lie in their past? Will they get a happy ending?

The Mastermind is the first book in the WaterFyre Rising series and debut novel by Nadia Han. It is a brother’s best friend/billionaire boss romantic suspense. It is well woven with enough intrigue, danger, mystery, tension, chemistry, dramatic developments, angst, push-pull, agendas, and deadly secrets to keep me flipping the pages to discover how it all plays out in the end. I loved the camaraderie between the WaterFyre men and look forward to finding out more about each one, as their stories release. This is Remi’s story, the Mastermind of WaterFyre (you’ll have to read the book to find out what WaterFyre is), billionaire businessman, and brooding alpha-male. His latest business acquisition brings him back to his hometown, with all the painful and disturbing memories associated with it. But it is also home to his best friends, and a certain woman who intrigues him on so many levels. He shouldn’t feel attracted to Audri, after all he has known her since she was a child- she’s his best friend’s sister, and therefore totally off limits. But he also happens to be her new boss, and pretty soon it is hard to ignore the chemistry that has ignited between them. But danger seems to be stalking them, and dark secrets will soon be revealed- so strap yourself in for a bit of an intense ride as all is revealed. There were some moments where I felt the story lagged just a little, or was slowed down by ‘flashbacks’- I do understand that the author was building backstory, but I felt that some of the momentum of the story was lost at these times- but, in saying that, this issue did improve as we got further into the book- and it didn’t detract from my overall enjoyment of the story. Looking forward to ‘The Daredevil’ (Book #2), due to release in Nov 2022. Happy Reading!
