Within the first few pages I was drawn in and I could not put it down at all. I love how the author uses the other previous books in the series to intertwine what’s going on with this one. Also, there is a backstory on the history of Shane and Winter which is very well thought out. The story does flow very well together, goes from one character’s point of view to the other, very easy to follow.

I loved this book; it started right off where the last book in the series had left us hanging on the cliffhanger! Isla Vaughn is one of my favorite authors, she is an absolute genius when it comes to keeping you engaged in a book, that you never want to come to an end. The fact that every single major character that we met in the very first book in this series continues to get their turn at being the star of their mini-story in the Hidden Valley Elite series is so amazing. Not only do you get to know and understand them as if they are the stars, but their story does not end when their mini-stories, they continue to develop and grow as the story progresses in this series. Wicked Games allows us to get to know Shane, one of the twins, stories, as we learn about his struggles from childhood with the mysterious Winter. As Shane seeks to exact his revenge on his childhood bully, he doesn’t realize that he is starting to fall for her, all while dealing with his trial from a fatal accident he caused. I could not put this book down and am dying to see where the next book in this series will pick up, there are so many new questions that are left unanswered. I love the intrigue and the mystery that this latest installment in this series brings, from the twin’s dad and the role he’s trying to take in the boy’s lives. Aspen’s pregnancy is coming so close to her due date, the mystery behind Winter’s sister’s death, and her mother’s impending parole hearing. I’m on the edge of my seat waiting for the next book to come out!!! @Brandy Rymer 11/2023

Wicked Games: A Dark College Bully Romance (Hidden Valley Elite Book 7)
Just when I think I can’t get more addicted to these characters and this series I end up even more so then with the previous books. I have been involved from the very beginning and will there until the bitter end. These cliffhangers are killing me, but what a way to go.
Shane isn’t having the best year between what happened to his twin Phoenix, dealing with his grandfather and dealing his issues with his father and unfortunately it doesn’t improve from there.
Winter transfers in to Thane after a semester at her local community college not expecting to know anyone outside of her brother Jaxon. But runs into an old friend she hadn’t seen in several years.
So many things to discuss and questionsto ask, but won’t since I’m expecting all of it to be cleared with the next book. Though the thought of having to say bye to this group makes me sad.
I’m once again impatiently waiting for the next book to be released and have no doubt I will finish the same day as I have with each and every book before.

Wicked Games by Isla Vaughn is book seven in her Hidden Valley Elite series. I would absolutely read them in order because they do all tie in and follow the same group from high school to college. After the way the last book ended I was shocked and so nervous for Shane. I’m glad to see things wrapped up but boy did he have quite the story with Winter. And Winter herself, she’s had a rough go with life and the things that she has seen and what happened to her sister. Without realizing it, Winter walked right back into Shane’s life and she can’t remember him. Shane on the other hand sees red when he looks at Winter, remembering the lowest point in his life. And yet, the attraction and pull between them is hard to ignore. Truly, I love this series and look forward to how everything plays out. But come on with these cliff hangers! I mean I’m going to keep reading so you don’t have to do that to me!!

This is the 7th book in the Hidden Valley Elite Series, and it can be read alone, but I would recommend reading all the series and the prequel in order as you get to know the other characters and see glimpses of who they are. As for this book, I have to say, “Wow, what a read!” This book has so much emotion mixed with highs and lows that I didn’t know whether to grab a tissue, or scream bloody murder during parts of it. Shane and Winter have a somewhat tortured past, but only one of them remembers, as the other has been trying to deal with things that completely altered her life. To me, this book by far has the most complex and well-written story yet! The way Isla Vaughn has interwoven such a storyline that evokes so much through the written word is so amazing and such a talent. I can’t wait to read the next book and find out what happens. Be aware this, like the rest of the books in this series, is a duology with the next book and ends in a cliffhanger that you definitely want to know more about.

In this book we get Shane and Winter’s story, well at least the first half of their story as this ends in a cliffhanger that I didn’t see coming! Defiantly read the other books first as everything is intertwined. Winter has been raised by her foster parents and is now attending Thane University. She has memories that bleed through as nightmares that she can’t quite figure out. Her dad’s death, her sister’s murder. She meets Shane and she feels familiarity, but she can’t quite place it. She has been warned to stay away from Shane because he’s dangerous. She tries her best to stay away, but she can’t help the feelings that draw her to him. When Shane see’s Winter, all of the painful memories come back to haunt him as he sees the girl, now woman who nearly ended his life. He vows to get his revenge, but when Winter doesn’t recognize him, he starts to question if it’s really worth it. He has his own demons to deal with. I do not like his dad one bit. I think he’s got an ulterior motive and is up to something. I can’t wait to read the second book in their story. I have so many questions that I need answers to!

Winter never wanted to go back to where her life turned upside down. She was ready to face the past but she had no choice with her mother’s parole hearing coming up. What Winter didn’t realize is that going back to the source of her pain was exactly what she needed. Shane Bennet was going through his own turmoil. But when he had the chance to get revenge on the girl who nearly ended his life he couldn’t pass up the opportunity to get revenge. What Shane didn’t know was that Winter was exactly what he needed. I am absolutely in love with this series. I can’t put any of the books down by this author. I can’t wait to see what else this author publishes.

I love Isla Vaughn’s Hidden Valley Elite books. Wicked Games is a stand alone but it’s still amazing to know the backstory of Shane. Watching Shane and Winter fall is the best ever especially knowing his ex. I do hate her cliffhangers but just builds anticipation and Isla always delivers. I definitely recommend this story and all other Hidden Valley Elite stories!

This series has been absolutely incredible, but the installment I just read was astonishing!! I’m not sure how the author finds new ways to build the Hidden Valley Elite world that keeps me so intrigued, but they do it over and over again. I dove right back into this universe and was hit with ALL the feelings. I mean, this is such an emotional rollercoaster that kept me on my toes and guessing. Reading about Winter and Shane’s story was heart-wrenching and filled with danger, drama, and an intensity that made it impossible to put down. I definitely recommend reading the series from the beginning to get the best experience, but you won’t regret it whatsoever. This is one of my favorite series of the entire year!

Wicked Games is Book Seven in the amazing Hidden Valley Elite Series. The characters in each book intertwine with the next book and builds on the previous one so I do recommend reading previous books in this series first. This book is full of angst, betrayal, love, deceit, lies, bullies, drama, tension, chemistry, passion, and an enemies-to-lovers romance. It centers around the characters of Winter and Shane and is told from each of their POV. The storyline starts off with intense tension and drama as Shane is pulled into a situation that could result in him going to jail on charges of involuntary manslaughter. Shane is a football player and is strong, smart, intense, dark, and dangerous. As one of the privileged ones of the Elite he has a reputation for playing to win at all costs and not allowing anyone to stand in his way. Winter has just started the semester at Thane University and is trying to put her dark past behind her. Although eight years have passed, she is traumatized by having to return to the place where her father died and where her mother killed her sister. When she runs into Shane at a local coffee shop, Winter is attracted to him and warnings of how dangerous he is fall on deaf ears. Shane recognizes Winter immediately and memories of her from his past come flooding back. Winter tormented him in grade school so horrendously that he wanted to end his life. When Shane has the opportunity to get to know Winter, he initially decides to plot his revenge against her for the years she bullied him. However, once they spend time together, he begins to see her in a new light. Can the two of them move past the hurt, lies, secrets, and dark pasts to have a bright future? This book took me on an emotional rollercoaster ride and was full of intense twists and turns that kept me riveted until the final page. And that cliffhanger, wow! Cannot wait for the next book in this fantastic series!

This book is book seven of the series. It is the first book of Shane and Winter’s Duet. This book was quite the ride!
Winter hasn’t had an easy life and now she’s choosing to go back to the source of all of her pain. She needs this though. She needs to work through and come to terms with the memories. When she sees Shane, she doesn’t know who he is but she can tell she’s meant to know him. The only problem is, Shane remembers exactly who she is. Shane didn’t think he’d ever have to see Winter again and now that he has, he’s not happy about it. He will, however, use this as an opportunity to destroy her. Will Shane’s plan work or will things change?
This book is just as good as every book in this series. You get sucked in and can’t wait to find out what happens. The character development is great. You can see them grow through the whole story. I absolutely recommend this book!

I am so addicted to this series, but these cliff hanger endings are killing me! Wicked Games picks up right where Cruel Love left off. We get to know Winter and see a new side of Shane. I can’t wait for the next one so I can see what happens next for them, both individually and possibly together. I hope the author releases a box set or the whole collection together so I can re read all in order. Now not so patiently waiting for November 30 so I can read Wicked Ends. But I don’t want it to end. I love these characters and am so invested.

5 Stars Wicked Games (Hidden Valley Elite Book 7) by Isla Vaughn
Wicked Games is the seventh book in the Hidden Valley Elite Series and is a wonderfully written College Romance/New Adult Romance/ enemies to lovers Romance that once you start reading there’s no stopping until you finish. I’m addicted to this series and I swear each book gets better and better. I’ve been patiently waiting for Shane’s story and holy heck she didn’t let me down. Listen folks if you haven’t already started this series do it now. There are characters that overlap with each book plus you get everyone’s backstory and get to know the characters better. This is Shane’s and Winter’s story we are taken back to where it all started. He’s out for revenge and she’s looking for answers . She doesn’t remember him but he remembers her. These two definitely had sparks. She is living in a nightmare that never ends and he’s dealing with his own personal nightmare as well. You guys this is a must read if you want to know what happens next. Bring on Wicked Ends I can’t hardly wait. I look forward to reading more from this Author.

Shane Bennet feels like the whole world is on his shoulders: after his injury, football is on standby position, school takes time if not effort, he cannot longer fight in order to release some tension, and now after an accident he must stay as close to perfect as he can. But life is ever so easy, why not test his resolve to be better by putting an old enemy right into his path?
Winter is back to the place where her nightmare began. After being adopted and cared for, she is back to the city of her upbringing and things are getting good and bad: good he met a gorgeous boy and she might fall for him, bad her mother is about to be free from jail after killing her sister.
This story is full of tension, vengeance, love and predicaments, you will not be able to let the book down.

I don’t know why I expect any less than the best from this author’s books. I have been sucked into this series from the very beginning. I am so very sad to see the ending in sight.
This one picks up right where Cruel Love ended, with Shane in deep doodoo. Even though most of that situation is taken care of, the dark cloud it leaves hanging over Shane isn’t. He feels guilty about what happened and it is affecting him, probably more than he realizes. When a blast from his past is sitting in the local coffee spot, Shane just about melts down. The one girl he cared about since he was 10 years old. The only problem is that she did not return his affection, she teased and tortured Shane.
Winter needed to spread her wings after living with her foster parents for 8 years. Transferring to Thane University, where her foster brother goes, is one step she is taking to reclaim some of her independence. When Winter receives a letter about her mom’s upcoming parole hearing, being back where it all happened may not be the best thing. WInter’s mom killed her sister and nearly killed Winter when she was just 10 years old. Winter’s world was in turmoil when she met Shane and she did the absolute worst thing, she was cruel to him because she was in pain and no one seemed to care.
When Winter saw him on campus, she didn’t immediately recognize him. Shane had grown up and changed in the last 10 years. Shane understood this and, as part of his revenge plan, gave Winter a fake name. When Winter finds out who Shane actually is, it brings back a flood of memories from that time and the guilt and shame of what she did to him. Before Shane has the chance to explain, things start to heat up.
I don’t know if I can wait for the next book. I don’t know if I want to read it. I mean, I completely and totally do because I need to find out who did it. But that also means that the series is over and my heart will be broken. I imagine that the book hangover from this series will include a weekend in bed with some ice cream and binging the entire series again. I want to find out. I need to find out. I don’t want to find out. Bring on Wicked Ends.
Oh just in case I didn’t spell it out, this book was brilliant.

This book has some twist and turns. It was a great book. It’s a duet two strong stories in one. Winter was back and trying to work through all her trauma that she held. She has a trial hearing for her mom who killed her sister. Shane is the guy that always has one thing happen to him after another. He was facing charges for hitting a guy. Winter sees Shane and thinks he is soo cute, but Shane remembers what she did to him when they were younger.

This book was so suspenseful. I can’t give enough praise about this entire series. This author really nailed it with these 4 cousins and their stories. Shane and Winter see eachother at the coffee shop and are instantly attracted to eachother. They have a past that Winter doesn’t seem to be able to remember until close to the ending. Winter lost her entire family as a child. Her dad died, her sister died, and he mom is in prison. Her mom is looking for an early release but even if isn’t granted, she’s only got 2 years left. Someone has stalking Winter and leaving her scary threatening notes. Winter and Shane have a mutual attraction. Shane tries to remember what type of Person Winter was but that was a long time ago. Maybe she has changed…become nicer..He still plans for payback Shane has had a rough go these last few months. His luck doesn’t seem to be changing. I cannot wait for the final Book in this series but I also hate for it to end.

Once again, I find myself flying through another Hidden Valley Elite installment… this time while literally flying. I really enjoyed learning more about Shane’s back story in this one, as he’s always just been on the outskirts previously. My ONLY complaint is that I wish we didn’t end on a cliffhanger. Each installment in this series ends on a cliffhanger and could easily have each duet be one book. But I will wait as patiently as I can for the next one.

Be prepared for a heck of a rollercoaster of emotions and so much more. Winter returns to university, she is struggling with some things from her past. When Shane see’s Winter his need for revenge ignites. But as he spends time with her will he be able to go through with it? What will happen if Winter finds out his secrets? Overall this was a great dark read. There are so many twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat. The author does a great job of pulling you in with her writing. I highly suggest reading this series from the start. I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book in the series. 1-click and get started today.

OMG! I was super duper excited to read this next installment of this series. This one follows Shane from the previous books. This one was just as fantastic as the other. No, i think it was better, TBH. It’s filled with so much deceit, lies, emotions, drama, betrayal, spicy romance, and ups and downs that it’ll leave you dizzy and want more at the same time🥰. Some of these characters are a real piece of work (not gonna name names you’ll see lmao) but that’s just extra kudos to Isla Vaughn for creating them so well that you’ll feel such strong emotions toward them. Get ready to be left on the edge of your seat because this one leaves you on a cliffhanger 😬😬😭.I can’t believe that this series is about to end. I’m gonna miss the amazing characters and the complex world this brilliant author has written, but with that being said, I CANNOT WAIT to see how Shane and Winter’s story ends. Bring on the Wicked End 🥰

After how the previous in the series ended i was so curious on what was to happen in this one and i was not disappointed. I would definitely read this series from start to finish in order to get to know the characters but also to get the whole flow of the stories and how they lead us to here. This one is full of twists i wasnt expecting and the way it ends i need the next one now please!

This book was a hard book to put down. This book series has been amazing and keeps you wanting more at the end of every book. I do suggest reading the other books first but can be read by itself.
This book follows the stories of Shane and Winter. Shane has worked his whole life towards one goal but one night that all could change for him. One action with good intentions that could cost him everything he has worked for. As a son and brother, he just wants to make his family proud and follow his dreams. He is highly determined and goes for what he wants.
Winter came back to town with one goal. Which was to find answers to things that happened to her family a long time ago. She does not want or need any distractions and that is what men can be.
What happens when the person you collide with seems familiar? Can someone who you can’t place be a key factor in your life? Do opposites attract or will a war ensue?
Read this book to find out what happens with these two.

Emotions run high and she struggles to move past certain aspects of the past.
The feeling that something is very wrong follows both Shane and Winter.
There is certainty a past aspect of bullying, and the constant angst that there is someone in the background, but who it is?? It could be a family member, a jilted lover, a stalker.
The rollercoaster of story keeps Aspen and Pheonix, their Grandad, Joe, the Uncle and cousins all continue to develop. The world building and continuity is great. I really am anxious to know what happens next.

View all my reviews

I was so excited to get my hands on this book and start the next in the series. I was pulled straight back into these characters and their lives and couldn’t wait to see what was in store for Shane and Winter. This series has become one of my favourites and this book just reinforces exactly why. It is well written and I fell in love with these characters immediately. This author seems to be able to create an incredible story no matter what she turns her hand to. I have already read the previous books in this series multiple times and this one is going to be exactly the same. It has made me even more excited for the next book and everything else this author has to offer.

Book 7 in the Hidden Valley Elite Series, Wicked Games exceeded my expectations. After reading the first 6 books in the series, I had high hopes for this one, since it seems to be coming up on the end of the series. Isla Vaughn did not disappoint. Excellent world building and solid, fluid writing, coupled with suspense, drama, and so many twists and turns make the world of Thane University come to life. The same great characters return and are, once again, thrown into some heavy stuff. Shane and Winter not only have a wicked history with one another, but seem destined to be torn apart before truths can be revealed. The cliffhanger at the end of Wicked Games took me by surprise and left me biting my nails until the 8th book is released!
