This gives her a major mistaken identity and she is forced to rely on the MMC. He is a private investigator and is trying to bring down the not so nice guy. This collection of short stories has something for everyone. It runs the gammit of age gap romance to shifters. There are trigger warnings for any that need them so it’s easy to skip to the next story if that particular one isn’t your thing. Each story is well written and keeps your attention. This was a great collection!

The Missing Red Envelopes by Yobe Qiu – Review by Nichole Chrisman

The Missing Red EnvelopesThe Missing Red Envelopes by Yobe Qiu
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was a great book for early chapter book readers. It follows two sisters celebrating Chinese New Year and trying to solve the mystery of what happened to Weina’s red envelopes. This book helps readers learn about how a different culture celebrates New Year, their traditions, and explore a mystery at the same time! This was very engaging and a quicker read if you are reading it to someone. Very cute!

Fashionably Fake (Kings of Screen Series) by Morgana Bevan – Review by Nichole Chrisman

Fashionably FakeFashionably Fake by Morgana Bevan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the 4th book of the Kings of Screen but can be read as a standalone. The author is very adept at weaving in the important details of the previous stories and keeping the reader from feeling like they are missing something. The characters are so fun to read and go on this “fake” relationship with. It is told in both POV’s which I personally love because you get to see both characters fall for each other in their own words. This was a great read and will definitely leave you going back for the first three!

It sends him into over protective mode and also pushes him to find out who the Romeo is. There are twists, turns and secrets that will cause you to second guess yourself throughout the book! Nessie and the Viking Gold (Nessie’s Grotto) by Lois Wickstrom and Jean Lorrah – Review by Nichole Chrisman

Nessie and the Viking GoldNessie and the Viking Gold by Lois June Wickstrom
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is a great chapter book for an adventurous kiddo! Craig is still on the hunt for Nessie, the Loch Ness Monster, when he uncovers some gold coins. But these coins aren’t just regular coins, they are enchanted and allow Craig to discover the entrance to Nessie’s cave. Interwoven within this mystical book are historical facts about Scotland as well as scientific ones, and let’s face it it wouldn’t be a Lois Wickstrom book if there’s wasn’t a little science mixed in there! Overall this book is fantastic and will keep a young chapter book reader entertained!

Song of Earth and ClawsSong of Earth and Claws by Lena Abram
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This fantasy story will keep you reading. The author provides tons of details and has very believable characters. Lannahi has been overlooked and underestimated but it’s time for the Games and it’s time for her to prove herself. But can she trust who she thinks or will she be betrayed like her family was? Very good book with a very similar vibe to GOT and LotR.

A Heart So Savage (The Savage Duet Book 2) by April Moran – Review by Nichole Chrisman

A Heart So Savage (The Savage Duet #2)A Heart So Savage by April Moran
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the second book in the series and it’s amazing!! It picks up where book 1 left off. In the second installment we get more of Kingston’s pov and inner dialogue that helps explain his sometimes over the top actions over Ava. Ava’s problematic brother comes in as well again and it’s possible Ms. Moran has redeemed him enough to give him his own book in the future. This is the end of this particular set but again, maybe she’ll give us some more in the future!!

This is a dark romance full of a jealous alpha and feisty woman. This does end in a cliffhanger but the second book is already out so no wait!!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the second book in the series and while I didn’t read the first book I had no trouble catching up with what was going on. Joey used to be a star student until she was introduced to the things that go bump in the night. Now she sees potential ghosts and demons in the faces of everyone she meets. Not the best way to spend your first year in college. She also misses normal dreams, you know the kind you can forget. Now she remembers every detail, every emotion, and when the newest one is an explosion at the school she has to figure out what is going on. Can she figure out what caused the explosion before it actually happens? Will it actually happen or was it just a dream?

With his tattle tale sister and snack stealing dog in tow Dylan sets out to discover who took the mail. The chapters are short and easy to read with pictures to help your little reader feel amazed at finishing a chapter book. This is the cutest book on dog safety! Done as a rhyming story this book book goes over multiple interactions a child could face with both a known and unknown dog. Situations like using gentle touch, to respecting a dog’s boundaries by paying attention to their body laungage, to seeing and interacting with dogs out in public this book covers a ton! I absolutely loved the illustrations and the use of poetry form to help kids learn! This was very well written, organized and thought out!

Princess Isabel loves her country above all else and is willing to do whatever it needs to protect it. Henrique, her bodyguard, is scientific and practical and flirty and our princess doesn’t know how to deal with the feels she gets from him. This book is full of imagery of both Portugal and Spain , amazing dialogue, and a great story line. It is book 3 in the series but the first two are not needed ahead of time. The book was a wonderful historical romance and worth the read!

This is the third book in the series but you definitely don’t miss anything by starting with it. Wynter and Caleb have both been bitten before in love and have taken the once bitten twice shy idea to new heights. They flirt with the idea of each other but it isn’t until a will gives them a reason to stay in each other’s company that they finally start to give in. Plus you really just want Caleb to get that dog!! This can be read as a stand-alone or in a series. I will be going back to the first book in the series to start from the beginning!!

The Earl, Her Reluctant GuardianThe Earl, Her Reluctant Guardian by Wareeze Woodson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Imagine yourself in the past where you had to depend on a guardian to make all of your life choices for you. Now imagine that all he wants to do is get rid of you. Add in a crazy aunt and a ghost and you have this story! All Vanessa wants to do is live at her home and be at peace but her guardian, the Earl of Danville, wants her married off and to find the spy he’s been set to locate. Unfortunately he doesn’t expect to actually like the woman he’s in charge of, let alone be attracted to her. And now there’s a ghost?!? What’s an Earl supposed to do? This was a very well written book and while it sounds like there are a lot of different things happening in one story, the author makes all of it fit together. Wonderful book.

This is book 7 in the Assassins next Generation and my first book! That being said, while there is of course connections to previous books, I did not feel like I was missing anything coming in at book 7. The struggles Dimitri and Austen face independently while at the same time supporting each other was great! Their relationship developing throughout was wonderfully built and the comedy relief is hilarious. I will definitely be backtracking to read the other books in this series before the next comes out!

This is the first book in this series but there is a prequel that helps set up a lot of the issues the FMC faces throughout this first book. Lilliana has been dealing with major issues caused by Alex (and let’s face it her father) that Zeke and Slash have to watch her deal with and help where she’ll let. This love triangle between her, Zeke and Slash will get you to change back and forth between her men. Then there’s the plot twists that throw you for a loop! This does end on a cliffhanger but book 2 is already out so dive in!!!

Christy has struggled for 6 years to be a good mom to her twin girls with the help of her very talented (and psychic bff) before running into Ryan again. They quickly realize the feelings are still there but don’t want to rush into anything since the girls are there to consider. Cute humor, sweet moments and adorable 5 year old twins make this a super adorable read!

Now the MMC does have other partners while the couple is apart (which isn’t everyone’s cup of tea) but if that doesn’t trigger you dive in! He grew up without his family, she grew up wanting to change her destiny within her family. Together they may be able to get what they both want, as long as they get out of their own ways!! Great book! Can’t wait for the second!!
