Queen Of My Heart is the first book in the Life Won’t Wait series by Nikki Lynn Barrett. It is a great contemporary romance novel that I thoroughly enjoyed reading. It’s not the first time that I had read this author’s work so I knew that i was putting myself in safe hands. I have to say that I’m a sucker for a fake marriage book so was really looking forward to reading this book. Quinn and Tucker just grabbed hold of my heart straight away and kept a tight grip throughout. I loved both characters and was rooting for them to have the HEA that they both deserved. I’m also a sucker for a cute kid in a book and Tucker’s niece is totally adorable. I loved that she couldn’t say Quinn’s name so she called her Queen. A total scene stealer. One of my big passions in life, after reading, is music and I loved that this book is set in the music world. We get to see a bit of the good and the bad about life in the music world. It’s not all sunshine and roses. I really enjoyed Queen of my Heart and look forward to reading more of this series.

I really enjoyed the author’s writing and the story she created. I enjoyed reading the characters and I loved both of these characters Tucker and Quinn were great characters. It had a nice happily ever after and was really sweet. They both came from messed up families but found each other. I felt the book dragged a little bit but other than that liked the book.

Nikki Lynn Barrett is one of my favourite authors and I especially feel this was justified with this novel. This novel was brilliantly written, and the characters were relatable and interesting. Quinn Winters is a daytime soap and straight to TV movie actress whose first love is country music. After one TV death too many she turns her back on acting, moves to Nashville and tries her hand at making it as a country singer. Tucker McGinnis has been labelled as not only the sexiest country music singer but also the ‘next king of country’. His second album however has flopped in the record labels eyes. Pairing with Quinn to launch her career and save his own, they help each other out in more ways than one. Barrett writes her characters story in such an intriguing and believable way that you feel like you could be hearing about your favourite singers’ lives.

Queen Of My Heart by Nikki Lynn Barrett is a solid first book to the Life Won’t Wait series. This is an endearing story that follows two lost souls who are trying to escape demons from their past. The writing is easy to follow and the characters are slowly developed as the story unfolds. A quick heartwarming read that held my interest from start to finish. This is a stand-alone but a little bonus at the end sets the scene for the next book in the series.

Queen Of My Heart by Nikki Lynn Barrett is the first book in the Life Won’t Wait series. This is a sweet contemporary romance which some lovely characters right at the heart of it. This whole story has a great feel to it. It is emotional and heartwarming. I found myself wanting to keep reading to discover more of the journey that the characters were going on. I thought the author did a great job of developing the story at the right pace. Nothing felt rushed or forced, everything felt like it happened naturally. This is a really well written book which such a great pace about it. As the first book of a new series it is a strong start and has me excited about what else is to come.

Queen Of My Heart (Life Won’t Wait Book 1) by Nikki Lynn Barrett is a romance connecting through music. There is so much in this story to love.
Quinn Winter is sick of being the actress with the most dead-end roles. She’s making a much-needed shift in her life after discovering her love of music while playing a country singer on a daytime soap opera. Quinn is unprepared for the demands and aspirations that come with becoming a successful musician in Music City. Her sister’s begging call places her in an all-too-familiar, but an unwelcome situation. Tucker auditioned for a reality singing competition five years ago, never intending to win. His sudden celebrity and success come as a complete shock. His second album is suffering from the dreaded sophomore jinx, despite a platinum debut. When he is plagued with guilt over an accident that affects his family, his artistic muse becomes inaccessible. Quinn astounds him when he overhears her audition singing his song.
An attraction develops, and a musical link is created. When life gets in the way, Tucker comes up with a new plan. A temporary union that will support them both before things get too real. Two souls destined, two hearts blending to make beautiful music as individuals, but even better as country music’s next power pair- if they can let go of their past selves.
I loved every page of it and can’t wait to read book two.

Queen of My Heart (Life Won’t Wait book 1)is my first book by Nikki Lynn Barrett.
Quinn Winters is looking for a change and she is going to try her hand at singing. She couldn’t ask for someone to help better than the next King of Country Music – Tucker McGinnis. But Tucker gets a little more than is expected when Quinn’s past crashes into her present.
The emotions and development of the characters were good in this book. But I felt there were times that things moved a little too slow, that it had me setting the book down and coming back to it.

Peaceful Slumber (Soul Connection Book 1) by Nikki Lynn Barrett was a great read! This book was full of thrills, suspense, twist and turns and romance that kept me reading late into the night and made me not want to stop. This is one of the most interesting stores I’ve read in a while. This is also the first book I’ve read from this author, and I was very impressed with her writing style and story telling capabilities. This book left me wanting more and I can’t wait for the next installment to this series!
I really enjoyed reading this book. I like stories with a bit of paranormal and love mysteries. I also love the sarcastic banter between Scott and Zelda. While some events of the story were anticipated, there were several twists that I did not expect and it made the storyline thoroughly enjoyable. The basics of the story was unique, and made for an entertaining read. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes paranormal and mysteries.

I thought I had read other books by Nikiki Lynn Barrett, but to my surprise this is the first! I am so excited to have found a new to me author that I like…no that I love! Even the cover is great and I really don’t care about covers!
Peaceful Slumber is a mystery with a little romance, with a little paranormal, with a big adventure! This is a story that I could not put down. I had to know what was going to happen, who was going to do it and why it was happening! Barrett put just enough suspicion in this story that anything was possible.
I love stories that touch on social situations. Barrett has chosen mental health. While it is a very serious topic, her story gives a little hope to those who also suffer. Finding that one person who is your one is hard enough and being anything different makes it even harder.
Zelda is the female main character and Barrett really puts her through every tough situation you could think of. Except Zelda doesn’t remember any of it. Including her own name. Scott seems like the only one that could help her. They are both lost souls who are a little different and they are perfect for each other. However, with so much unknown in this story it doesn’t look like there will be a happy ending.
The storyline is ORIGINAL…at least from my list of books. I really love this story!
I highly recommend this story and can not wait to read anything by Barrett! Since this is the first book in the Soul Connection series, there will be more!!!
This is one book I could not put down. I LOVED this paranormal story between Scott and Zelda. I can honestly say I have not read to many books like this but I am so happy I was able to read this amazing story. The characters of Scott being able to see ghosts and he meets Zelda and to help her is just touching. Wow, I cannot wait to see what the next books are in this series! Kudos to Author Nikki Lynn Barrett 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
After coming back from a brush with death a couple of years ago, Scott can now see dead people. This is not something he is too fond of because once the dead know he can see them, they flock to him. However, at his uncle’s funeral, he sees the ghost of a dead bride in a blood-covered wedding dress. He finds her intriguing and offers to help her find out who she is and how she ended up dead.
Zelda wakes up with no recollection of who she is or how she got where she is. She can see that she is in a wedding dress (which is covered in blood) but can’t remember anything. She quickly finds out that no one can see her, so she must be dead. When she comes across a funeral, she is surprised to find one person who may actually see her. When her and Scott begin to uncover the truth about her past…it comes as quite a shock (to both Zelda and the reader).
Can they uncover the mystery behind her death before she has to move on to whatever afterlife awaits her? And even though they are both in different realms, what is this connection that can be felt between Scott and Zelda?
This is a new-to-me author…but it definitely won’t be the only book I read from them. I found myself pulled into the story from the first chapter. I couldn’t (or wouldn’t) put it down until I got to the end to find out what really happened. There were twists and turns…tears and relief…suspense and mystery…this story has it all. I enjoyed it and will definitely be checking out the rest of the series.
Peaceful Slumber will have you flipping pages faster than you can blink. Nikki Lynn Barrett has really outdone herself with this “ghost story”. After reading the synopsis of this story i was hooked right away, and Nikki definitely did not disappoint. Peaceful Slumber is an emotional roller coaster ride so make sure you have a box of tissues handy for all the tear jerking moments, but youll have quite a few heart-warming moments and be smiling by the end. But if you want a ghost story full of twists and turns, love, deceit, wonderfully developed characters and a plot that keeps you guessing until the very end then I highly recommend Peaceful Slumber.
Scott is a teenager and a bit of a recluse, he is jaded and sarcastic and pushes people away and keeps his own council, he doesn’t get along with his parents, or at least he doesn’t now, not since he died and was brought back, but the only problem with that is that now he can see the dead when nobody else can and that is why he is how he is. She is a ghost, she is wearing a wedding dress covered in blood and has no memories of who she is or what has happened, apart from that she is dead and nobody can see her, that is until she locks eyes with someone at a funeral and that all changes.
I have woken up in a dark place with fog swirling around my feet, I can’t feel anything and I can’t see anybody else around me, but I’m shivering and can feel a cold wind swirling around me, but as I start to panic, I can hear voices, someone sobbing and others trying to comfort them, but when I try to make contact, they can’t hear me. Scott is at the funeral of his Uncle, they are gathered around the grave while the ceremony is conducted, he is there for his Aunt and nobody else, but the dead are all around him and trying to get his attention, so far he has managed to ignore them all, if not, then they will swarm him and ask for his help, that is until one female ghost catches his attention, she is wearing a bloody wedding dress and for some reason he can’t look away and she notices and looks relieved. After he has finished avoiding his parents, he goes over to talk to her, and albeit he is short with her, she doesn’t back off and he is surprised to find that he invites her back to his house so he can help her.
Why did I have to find the one sarcastic guy in the world who can see me, even worse, I’m slightly attracted to him, as I ask him question and he does in return, how little memories I have are worrying and I don’t know what to do, but as Scott seems to be my only ally and we seem to get on well, I’ll take a chance. I get annoyed with Scott when he keeps calling me Ghost Bride, so I ask him to give me a different name and one he likes, he comes up with Zelda, apparently a character from a video game, but I like it, so that is one thing, as he suggests getting the laptop out to start on the research, I realise that I am happy that he will help me when nobody else can. Scott meanwhile is realising that this ghost is attractive, funny and can give the sarcasm as much as he can, so he decides that helping her could be fun, until she leaves, but still he cannot stop himself from noticing how attractive she is and how even though he knows she is dead, he still can’t ignore the fact that she makes him feel alive again.
Will Scott and Zelda be able to figure out who she is and how she died and how will this affect them both of the mystery can be solved? This is a romance with a very paranormal twist, with a mystery you will want to solve as well.
After being brought back to life after a close call with death, Scott can now see ghosts. It is not something he relishes in and he tries to avoid the spirits that seek him at all costs. That is until one particular ghost in a wedding dress appears to him at his late uncle’s funeral. Not having any memories of who she is, Scott works with her to figure out who she is and how he can help her. I really enjoyed this book. Both the main characters are likeable, and you really find yourself rooting for the. The plot is beautifully written and well thought out, there is lots of twists and turns to keep you interested but the main focus of the story is still there. I was intrigued to find out about Scott’s part and why he had such a connection to this ghost in particular. Seeing both characters develop over the book was particularly exciting. A great read.
Scott has died before. When he is brought back to life, he has a side effect. He can see ghosts. He usually ignores them until he sees a bride in a bloody wedding gown. He tries to help her find out what happened and his life is permanently altered. Opinion I was a huge fan of the show Ghost Whisperer and still love the paranormal. This book certainly called to me. I completely enjoyed this story as it told about Scott and Zelda. Some of the parts of Zelda’s story were quite a shock. This is definitely a great romantic suspense book.

Peaceful Slumber is the first book in the Soul Connection series by Nikki Lynn Barrett.
This story took me well out of my comfort zone. After literally facing death, for a few minutes at least, Scott’s life changed forever. Everything he knew, or thought he knew, has been turned on its head. He not only has the ability to see and talk to ghosts, but he finds himself helping to solve the puzzle that will help set someone free.
This book is very well written, it is easy to read and the characters are fantastic. There are plenty of surprises to keep you guessing, and the twists and turns throughout the storyline will keep you turning pages. If, like me, ghost stories aren’t your usual pick I would definitely recommend giving this book a chance.
When the next King of country music offers to take you under his wing, what’s a girl to do?
Pinch herself, of course. Repeatedly. Then take the offer!
Quinn Winters is tired of being the actress known for most killed off characters. After discovering her love of music when her last role portrayed a country singer on a daytime soap opera, she’s making a much needed change in life. Quinn is unprepared for the demands and expectations needed to succeed in Music City. One pleading call from her sister puts her in an all too familiar, but unwanted position.
Five years ago, Tucker McGinnis auditioned for a reality singing show, never expecting to win. His sudden fame and popularity comes as a major surprise. After a multi platinum debut, his second album is suffering the dreaded sophomore jinx. His musical muse becomes elusive when guilt plagues him over an accident which affects his family. He is blown away by Quinn when he overhears her audition at his record label, singing his most personal song.
An attraction builds, and a connection through music is formed. But when life gets in the way, Tucker makes another offer – A temporary marriage which will benefit both of them, until things become too real.
Two souls destined for the stage, two hearts blending together to create beautiful music as individuals, but even better as country music’s next power couple- if they can shed the images of who they used to be.
No matter where she goes, USA Today Bestselling author Nikki Lynn Barrett hears voices in her head. Instead of calling her crazy and locking her up, her family realizes it’s just a product of being an author and allows her to write the stories so that the voices shut up.
But they don’t. And probably never will. There’s no need to lock her up, Nikki knows she’ll never escape the voices, not until each and every last story is written. And for every story she writes, about ten or more ideas pop up.
When she isn’t slaving away at her computer writing books that will probably make you cry and keep you in suspense, Nikki plots to take over the world one book at a time. What? It’s a sickness. One she can’t escape!
Books aren’t her only addiction, though. Nikki can be found making up parodies to drive her son crazy, and bantering back and forth with her husband, who somehow manages to steal her away from the fictional world she lives in all the time.
Nikki lives in Arizona with her husband and son, where she can be found using every creativity outlet she can find through music, photography, handcrafted things, and random interests that she may pick up from time to time.

I absolutely recommend this story. Nikki Lynn Barrett has written one heck of a ghost story. Three years ago Scott died, for 10 minutes. After he was revived, things had changed for him. He could see ghosts. Scott has to work his way through a maze of lies and deceit to make the lovely Zelda whole again. A ghost story with suspense and a mystery all wrapped up in pages that basically turn themselves.

Scott and Zelda are connected. She wants to remember what happens he’s her only connection to the outside world. He died for 10 minutes now he has a connection to the Ghostly realm of the undead who haven’t moved on. Throughout time these to gain a stronger connection. They have an amazing journey together.
Wow. So I knew by the summary I would be interested in this book. Boy did it ever hold me captive as I flew though the pages. Such an original story. I loved how it moved and the different points of view we got through it all. Very fascinating and original. I really enjoyed it.
I’m not normally a paranormal genre fan, but the writing in this story had me hooked. I’ve never read a book written by this author before, however she really carried me on a ride of emotions with her writing. These characters are very interesting, the writing is phenomenal allowing the plot to flow easy. All things that I love in a book. I loved the paranormal aspect of this story as it’s not something I normally seek out. However, this one was intertwined with a mystery and a love story, so it kept me thoroughly intrigued with the ending. I was on the edge of my seat at certain points of this book and was not disappointed with the ending. I highly recommend you pick up this book and read it.
This book was a really enjoyable but emotional read. It has all the elements I love in a story, Romance, danger and mystery. The characters were really well written that you can’t help but go through the emotional journey with them.
Scott has a gift or a curse depends on the way you think. After he suffered a near death experience he can now see ghosts. Its not something he wants to encourage so he just ignores them. That is until 1 spirit comes to him for help.
Ghost bride or Zelda as Scott names her arrives into his life. She has no memory of what happened to her, she doesn’t know who she is or how she got there. Together they need to try and piece her story together. As their journey progresses their connection grows and soon they have feelings neither can deny.
Is Scott falling for a ghost? Is Zelda alive or dead? What is Zelda’s story? Who is she and what happened to her? Can Scott help her recover her memories and uncover the truth?
Peaceful Slumber (Soul Connection Book 1) by Nikki Lynn Barrett is a book full of mystery and paranormal. The lines between life and death seem to blur.
Scott used to be a fairly average person before he died. For a short period, he was able to see ghosts. He sees her for the first time in a graveyard, dressed in a bloodstained wedding gown. No one else is aware of her presence. He seems to be at a loss about how to assist her. A ghost stuck in her version of hell with no memory of her life or death is the one that makes him feel alive for the first time in eons. It almost sounds like the beginning of a horror story. Zelda is an amnesiac ghost bride who has no recollection of her life or death One person can only see her. Scott is her only hope of unlocking her memories since she has no idea who she is or how she got into this condition.
This book has a little of everything. I enjoyed every last chapter. I can’t wait to continue reading the series.
This was such a fun evening read! I have had the pleasure of reading some other novels by Nikki Lynn Barrett but this little gem has to be my favorite yet. This is one ghost story you will not want to miss out on. We get the story of Scott, a man who died three years ago. He may have only been dead for ten minutes but those ten minutes forever changed his life. He now sees ghosts, but a particular one, a woman in a blood stained wedding gown, really calls to him. He ends up naming her Zelda after the game because hello it’s cool, and he is determined to figure her out. Zelda can see Scott, but she doesn’t even remember who she is, no memories to be found. These two characters suck you in and will make you fall in love with them. I couldn’t put this sucker down and I sure hope we get new stories like this in the near future from Nikki Lynn Barrett.
This is the first book in the Soul Connections series. This is a Paranormal Romance and is 390 pages. This story follows Scott, who can see ghosts, and Zelda, a ghost bride who cannot remember her life or death. Scott finds Zelda in a cemetery and she is completely lost and scared and has no idea what is going on. Scott is the only one that can see her. Scott is her only hope of helping her remember. Her blood-stained wedding dress is the only clue they have.
Peaceful Slumber (Soul Connection Book 1) by Nikki Lynn Barrett. This is a fun paranormal mystery and will keep you turning the pages to the very end. Its the story of Scott who 3 years ago died for 10 minutes and was revived. Once upon his revival he became able to see ghosts. When he keeps seeing one particular ghost he decides he needs to help her. Zelda wakes up in a wedding dress covered in blood with no recollection of anything. She feels so lost and alone and feels like she needs help but is not sure what kind. When she meets Scott she feels like he will finally be the help she needs. Scott invites Zelda home with him inviting all kinds of trouble with her. Will Scott be able to give Zelda the help she needs? Read Peaceful Slumber to find out.
Peaceful Slumber by Nikki Lynn Barrett a fantastic five-star read. This is number one in the Soul Connection series and well I am so eager for the rest, I have read this author previously but not this genre and well it is done so well. This has it all, its very easy to read, and the multiple POV keeps the story fresh, and keeps you hooked and reading. The whole story will enrapture you, and keep you guessing all the way through. Scott and Zelda will just keep you hooked as you meet them and get to know them both remembering with Zelda. This is a great story, and I can’t wait for more.

September Breeze (Cinnamon Bay Romance Book 2) by Nikki Lynn Barrett – Review by Randall Murphy The setting is a quaint quirky little Bay-side town with all the adorable characters and close-knit environment that normally accompanies them. The plot is deep and had me laughing, smiling, and even misty-eyed at times. This story will draw you in and hold you captivated while it teaches some important life lessons. The characters will make you fall in love with them as well as the story. This story will make you want to know more about the town and the “magic love potion” that the old ladies brag about.
