CAPTIVATED BY THE MILLIONAIRE BY NINA SINGH – REVIEW BY MELISSA AGENA

Captivated By The Millionaire (Mills & Boon True Love)Captivated By The Millionaire by Nina Singh
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is not your typical Harlequin novel. At least it wasn’t what I was expecting. Captivated by the Millionaire is written by Nina Singh. I was very surprised by this book and I loved every second of it. Jessalyn “Jess” has lived on Martha’s Vineyard for the last few years and has been very comfortable there being a part time art teacher. Jordan just moved the island with his sister, Sonya, whom he has just taken custody of because their father had recently passed. From the moment that these two have met there has been a spark but they each thought each other were enigmas. Not understanding each other since they both come from different circles and lives. Jess is a little bit bohemian and kind of goes with the flow. Jess also doesn’t come from money. Jordan comes from the city and comes from structure and has quite a bit of money. So on paper these two should not match one iota. Like I said, this book was great and it truly surprised me. I enjoyed this author and cannot wait to read more from her!

Yes, I too would be Captivated by a millionaire lol. This was a really good short story. I didn’t feel like the author was rushing the characters to get to the point. The characters had a unique chemistry that went well together. Once old insecurities and hurts moved out the way. I really liked how different they were from each other. The author did really well in the pacing of this story. It flowed together and created an effortless romance. I really like Jess she reminds me of my best friend. She has such a carefree soul. The joy she brought by just being was beautiful. I believe she gave Jordan something he was missing from life.

Captivated By The Millionaire is a sweet romance with a wonderful storyline. The main characters Jordan and Jess were wonderfully depicted. I loved the inner turmoil the two struggled with throughout the novel. It really helped develop their characters and their romance. Sonya, who is Jordan’s little sister, also stole my heart. She was precious. I also loved that the author depicted her with a hearing impairment. I felt that it made the book itself unique and unforgettable. She was a brave and fun child and I loved how she interacted with Jess. I really enjoyed this easy to read love story and I highly recommend it!

Captivated by the millionaire by Nina Singh was a great read. There was the emotional feelings, happiness and a bit of romance. Jordan is a billionaire who has just moved from NYC for a better life for his sister. When he comes into his new house to find Jess painting on a wall, he is down right rise to her. However Jess and Jordan are immediately attracted to each other even though they try fighting the attraction. Jordan’s little sister seems very happy with Jess and they just keep running into each other. Jess gives them a tour of the area and they are the picture perfect family…all 3 of them!
Will Jess and Jordan overcome the issues they have that is holding them back and finally go for it and have a shot at a relationship?
I thought the author did a great job with this book and look forward to reading more by her.

Captivated by The Millionaire is the first book I’ve read by Nina Singh, but it certainly won’t be my last! This romance read had me hooked from the beginning and wishing for a happy ending and I was not disappointed. Jess and Jordan’s story is sweet, emotional and steamy with a few twists and turns along the way which made for a really entertaining read.

The story flowed seamlessly, and all the detail made it easy for me to picture everything playing out in my mind. I would absolutely recommend this book to anyone looking for their next romance read, and I look forward to reading more from this author in the future!

I really loved this story. Its a proper romance about how two people from different social worlds come together and bring out the best in each other and complete each others lives.

After an accident Jordan moved to a quiet country with his sister who he has guardianship over. There he mets Jess who works at the community centre as an artist. Even though their first meeting isnt great there is definately a spark. The problem is will Jordan allow himself to fall for Jess.

This is a story full of ups and downs but does show that love can win over anything in the world

Captivated by the Millionaire by Nina Singh give us a storyline that I adore. The odd couple that no one thinks will work and when they do, the sparks fly and the attraction is through the roof. This book has everything that a romance reader will love. The sweetness, the drama, and the angst that we all love. A lot of the drama following the two leads in this story stemmed from miscommunications and misunderstandings that got to me but I still found myself unable to put the book down and was drawn into the storyline. I am new to this author and would for sure read more from her in the future.

Jessalyn, a free spirit artist who has had her fair share of heartache so she throws her compassionate loving self into the work at the Children’s Centre. She is a free spirit and she loves that about herself. Jordon, a millionaire from New York, has his life turned upside down when he becomes the guardian of his little sister Sonya. He doesn’t have the time to raise a child, he doesn’t have the time to give a home, and he certainly does not have the faith in ladies to give Sonya an environment that she needs. A encounter with Jessalyn, he finds himself unable to stop thinking about her. No matter what happens, these two always seem to be running in to each other. What happens when two people not looking for love, are drawn to eachother!!

Captivated By The Millionaire by Nina Singh is a book in the Mills and Boon True Love series. It is the first time I have read a book by this author and also the first time I have ever read anything Mills and Boon. It is certainly not what I expected from a Mills and Boon novel.
This book has a fantastic storyline and I was drawn into the story from the very first page. The characters are very well written and the author gives them great depth and you can’t help but get behind them and hope they get their HEA.
The book has many of the factors which make for a great romance novel – angst, sizzling chemistry, broken characters and very much an opposites attract story.
Jess is an artist who teaches at the children’s centre in Martha’s Vineyard. She’s been hurt badly in the past and a romance is definitely not on the cards for her. While painting a mural on a child’s bedroom she has her first meeting with brooding, gorgeous millionaire Jordan Paydan. Let’s just say their first meeting doesn’t go very well, or their second for that matter.
Jordan has uprooted his to take care of his 6 year old sister Sonya who has been left in his care after the death of his father. Jordan’s priority is Sonya and he definitely does not have time in his life for a woman. So why can’t he stop thinking about the beautiful artist Jess?
Neither of them are looking for love but they are drawn closer and closer together due to Sonya (who I must add, is the most adorable little girl). Will they give into the sizzling chemistry between them and admit their growing feelings for each other? I would thoroughly recommend you read this book to find out.

I do have a soft spot for these kinds of stories (millionaires/billionaires – I think I just secretly want to find one!!) and have read quite a few however this is the first book that I have read by this author and I really enjoyed it! It was everything I love about a contemporary romance read. I loved the characters, Jess and Jordan. They really were opposites but as they say opposites attract! They did have an amazing chemistry that felt real and genuine. The first interaction between them was really sweet and melted my heart a little.
I thought that the story was well written and had a great pace to it. I like the plot to the story and it definitely flowed really well.
Overall a really lovely story that was well written and one that I highly recommend!

Captivated by the Millionaire By Nina Singh. I’ve always been a fan of these types of romance stories. And this one definitely didn’t disappoint me. While these stories aren’t super long they give you everything I’d want in a cute romantic read. Characters that you can relate and connect with. Each having their own stories to tell and fate stepping in when it seems it needs to. I like the authors writing style and am excited to explore more. It’s well written and paced nicely, had me unable to put it down until the end. I’m giving this story a four star review and highly recommend it.

Romance at its best. Is what you will find in this book. Full length novel filled with life’s unexpected romance.

Jessie dreamed of being an artist, and she went after that dream. Unfortunately she had to learn the hard way to get what she wanted. She had to stand up for it as well. Romance was not in her cards. But painting is!

Jordan is a millionaire, plain and simple. But after losing his father and getting custody of his little sister, life is very different then he expected. So he bought a home in a quiet little town. Nothing is too good for his sister. Again romance is not in his plans! But giving his sister the best is!

Nina Singh has written this beautiful romance story. I fell in love with it on page one and could not put it down. Yes I had to finish it, it is that good. I love the characters, they are so down to earth. I am looking forward to reading more of Nina Singh’s books.

This was a captivating read with two characters that while at first glance and read, really do not seem like they could be a couple, but the more you read and the more interactions that Jess & Jordan have you can see that the developing connection that they have could end up being the perfect thing for them both. This is a quick easy read, that’s heartwarming and real. With real characters that you can’t help but feel for and love through-out their journey. This was a great feel-good romance read that’s captivating and engaging from the start, and I’m glad I got the chance to read it! You are taken along the journey with the characters. I loved the fact there was a small child involved, I think it added a different dynamic to the story.
As a new author to me I didn’t know what to expect from Nina however I enjoyed her writing style and the detail in the book. She is someone I will definitely look to in the future.

Captivated by the Millionaire was a great 4 star read.

Jess is an artist and loves working with children. She is painting a castle mural on the wall of a child’s bedroom getting it ready for when the family moves in. This is when she meets Jordan, the first meeting didn’t go well and they clearly started off on the wrong foot. Jordan was irritated with her and made her leave without letting her finish.

Jordan is a millionaire who has recently gotten custody of his 6 year old sister, Sonya. He is hardened against any relationships due to what he watched his father go through and his two priorities are his job and sister. Needless to say Jordan ends up eating crow and apologizing to Jess for his actions.

What manner of sorceress was this young lady? She beguiled him. Did something to his senses he wasn’t familiar with nor prepared for.

There is so much more to this great read. I loved the connection that Jess had with Sonya and Jordan. They were all meant to be together. Of course nothing comes easy and there were some ups and downs as both Jordan and Jess dealt with their fears of being in a relationship. This is my first read from Nina Singh and I really enjoyed it. I look forward to reading more.

This is the first time I’ve read a story by this author. It has also been a very long time since I’ve read a Harlequin Romance. It still holds the same formulaic charm the I remembered it to have.

This is a sweet romance with closed door sex scenes; hot rich guy, a beautiful artist and a sweet little kid. What more could a romance reader want? Oh yeah, it also has angst, a bit of a slow burn and HEA.

This was a quick and uncomplicated read.

Captivated by the Millionaire by Nina Singh. This story is a slow build of the relationship between Jess and Jordan. The first two meetings they have are rude, brutally honest and funny. But living in a small town has it’s bad moments when it comes to trying to avoid someone, it’s almost impossible not to run into them. Especially when his sister goes to the center where Jess volunteers. As their relationship grows from strangers to where they can tolerate each other you get a nice mix of he needs slapped with laughing and thinking I can’t believe he/she said that. Overall I enjoyed the story and characters.

It is a quick and easy read that is both heartwarming and heartfelt.and these adorable characters drew me into their wonderful journey, which is both believable and realistic. Captivated by the Millionaire: Mills and Boon True Love by Nina Singh is a very sweet romance, with angst, push/pull, and a sprinkle of drama. The story is clean (with closed door intimate scenes, and has a theme around loss, rejection, major changes, obstacles, forgiveness, redemption, and finding love when and where you least expect it.
Jessalyn Raffi has felt the sting of rejection and isn’t too keen on experiencing it again. She’s a gifted artist who lives and works on Martha’s Vineyard. She loves her job at the Vineyard Vines Children’s Centre where she teaches painting and helps co-ordinate other programs. She’s free-spirited, genuine, kind and compassionate.
Jordan Paydan lives an organised and structured life. He’s a multi-millionaire Venture Capitalist who had a great life in New York City. But his life turned upside down when he unexpectedly became guardian for his six year old sister, Sonya. His world was turned upside down in an instant- life would never be the same. He wasn’t cut out to raise a child, something he was only too aware of. He would never let himself forget. Sonya and work were his only priorities. Relationships were definitely not for him. First of all, he didn’t have time, and secondly, he didn’t put a lot of faith in women and relationships- he’d seen first hand how hurtful they can be. So, imagine his surprise when he walks into his new home after a long drive, to find a stranger painting a mural he never asked for, on a wall in one of the bedrooms. She quickly leaves after an awkward and rude encounter with him. But he can’t stop thinking about her. After another disastrous encounter, they just can’t seem to stay away. Not the best first impressions that’s for sure, but because of Sonya, and their intense attraction, they decide to play nice. She feels he’s out of her league anyway and doesn’t want to get hurt again. And he has his issues with relationships, and really doesn’t want any more complications. Will they finally see what’s right in front of them? Will he finally ‘let her in’? Will they take a chance on love, or will they both let their fear of being hurt drive a wedge between them?
There is quite a bit of push/pull happening in the story that drove me crazy at times. There were a lot of misunderstandings, miscommunications, and misinterpretations which added to the angst and drama.
The author has a free-flowing and descriptive style- and writes beautifully. I just wish the story wasn’t quite so sweet and predictable.
A minor point that really doesn’t detract from the story but made me take notice- was the cover of the book. Although attractive, I felt that the cover model didn’t fit the description of Jordan in the story- as the model very definitely has chocolate/dark brown hair- but, in the story Jordan is described as having sandy blonde hair that’s just dark enough to not be a true blonde. It confused me, I guess?
This is my first read by Ms. Singh and I would definitely like to explore more of her work.

Thank you, Ms. Singh!

This is a good story! I loved that Jess was an artist so that makes her a more open person and colorful. In contrast Jordan is all dark, bland and closed off. That’s why there are fireworks on the first couple meetings. So so different. But sometimes those two contrasts can compliment each other.

This is my first book by this author. To be honest i don’t usually read about millionaires /billionaires (they always want to buy everything) but i picked this up and I really enjoyed the story. It was different having a small child involved that was not a son/daughter. She is so sweet! The characters were interesting and I can not even imagine either of there childhoods. I really enjoyed the interaction between the two main characters. There was so much push and pull. As I get further in the book I can see why each of them feel that way. I loved that Jess was so talented. Again I can’t even imagine that talent. Jordan is actually a nice guy and I love what he does in the Epilogue. Did i laugh or cry while reading this? No but i did LOVE that first HUG between them! This is a story of strength, love, that pesky guilt..Oh and yummy ice cream!!

It will show you how strong fate is and getting its own way. This story is creative, engaging and I had a hard time putting it down. Jess loves her life in the Vineyard and Jordan is a CEO, opposite of Jess. Neither one feel they are ready for a relationship but will one little girl bring more to their lives then what they realize? They are great characters with strong chemistry. Its like opposite attract but they are able to find one common ground, I loved them. I highly recommend this book.

The story Captivated by the Millionaire by Nina Singh is a wonderful book that I loved reading. It had me hooked from the very beginning and not wanting to put it down until I read the last page. I loved reading about the characters of Jess and Jordan. Jess is an artist. She is talented, independent, and beautiful. She is caring and compassionate. She is taken by surprise at the attraction that she feels when she meets Jordan. Jordan is a successful businessman. He is a man that believes that right now he has priorities other than being in a relationship. He is trying to understand why he is so attracted to Jess. The attraction that these two have for each other has them distracted. She feels that she is getting mixed signals from him. He can’t stay away from her. Will these two admit their feelings for each other? What part will fate and an adorable little girl play in this story? What does the future hold for Jess and Jordan? Read this book to find out. Both Jess and Jordan are characters that I grew to care about and found myself wanting them to be happy. The story has moments that had me feeling sad and others that warmed my heart. There is inner conflict felt. My emotions went up and down the entire time that I was reading this book. There were also a few other additional characters that are introduced, and I enjoyed reading about them and their interactions with Jess and Jordan. This is a story that will pull at your heartstrings. It is a book that I highly recommend reading.
