My second Notebook mystery, I chose this for the cover- not only does it show a stunning Victoria era dress, it is very festive. Normally I don’t read a ton of Christmas novellas, but this one was intriguing, especially because it centered around Emma, a character I very much enjoyed in A Parisian Intrigue.

The entire story line revolves around the 5 W’s of the party- the who was pretty easily figured out, but the rest took until the end of the novella to uncover. I enjoyed how this was kept down to a novella- I think the idea, while great in the less than 150 pages, would have suffered in a longer text.

I enjoyed finding out more about Hen, and can’t wait to figure out if her story line continues. Like A Parisian Intrigue, the pacing and world building of this novella made it a one night, but rememberable read. The only thing I wish was stronger was the conclusion, which I thought was rushed.

I love this series and this little novella didn’t disappoint!

It’s Christmas time…a time of cheer, happiness, and overall well wishes for everyone. Parties are in full swing and Emma and Jeremy receive an invitation to a local party. Others in their company do as well. However, the invitation is not sitting right with Emma. Something just seems off about it.

As life goes on, there are some insiders scoping out the party location. Certain aspects of the location change over a few days and Emma receives word of it. She’s prepared for the party and whatever will happen therein.

These stories are just great little cozy mysteries with historical aspects thrown in. Some of the books in the series are full-length, while others are more novella style such as this one. There is always at least one adventure taking place, and usually more are starting in the background. Emma is a strong character to endure all the things that are thrown at her, often times last minute.

This is yet another great book to add to a series of great books. It was lovely to reconnect with the characters that we have become so familiar with over time. As usual, it took no time at all to become invested in their story and what was going on. It always feels like you have never been away from these characters each time you pick up a new book.
The story was well written and enjoyable from start to finish. It is rare a series has the longevity like this one and yet the author shows no signs of slowing down. Each book is as good as the others and this one is no exception. This is a great read that I thoroughly enjoyed.

A Party to Remember is part of the Notebook Mysteries series. It is a historical crime novella that takes place in 1889 in Chicago and centers around the characters of Emma and her friends. Emma has a nose for solving mysteries and seems to find them everywhere she goes. When Emma and Jeremy are invited to attend a Christmas party, she cannot shake the feeling that something seems to be off about the party. As the day of the party draws nearer her suspicions increase especially when she learns of the list of guests that have been invited to the same party. The guest list seems odd and those invited do not seem to be those that Gregory and Geoff, the party hosts, would normally socialize with so why have they been invited? Emma begins to conduct a small investigation with the help of her friends, Jake and Ethyl, who go undercover as hired help for the party. As they report back to Emma about the going-ons at Gregory and Geoff’s home, her suspicions only increase, and she knows that something is wrong. Who will win the deadly game of cat-and-mouse that Gregory and Geoff have planned?

Another brilliantly written novella by this talented author. I love how she uses historical events that occurred between 1880-1890 in Chicago as inspiration for her stories. The storyline was intriguing, and the characters are engaging. I have grown to love this close-knit group of friends that have become family to one another. Emma is a smart, feisty, stubborn, young lady with a knack for solving mysteries. She can sense something is wrong and pick up subtle clues that many might otherwise overlook. Christmas is a busy enough time of year but for Emma this year she certainly has her hands full. An invitation to a Christmas party that has her suspicions raised. Helping her friends Savannah and Ethan plan their wedding. Added to that, Emma and Jeremy have just become guardians to young Henrietta who I found was a wonderful addition to the story. I look forward to reading future stories with Henrietta to see if she becomes involved in helping Emma solve mysteries. Such a brilliant-minded young lady will surely aid in solving future mysteries that Emma stumbles onto. I highly recommend this book.

This is a festive novella that is part of The Notebook Mystries series. It can be read as a standalone however I do recommend reading the series so you get a complete idea of the characters and how they are connected. This is a great historical mystery which yet again sees Emma and Jeremy trying to solve a crime and stop the bad guys.
There is a lot happening in this story. From the marriage of Savannah and Ethan and Emma and Jeremy becoming guardians to little Henrietta everyone is distracted.
When they all get invited to a party the day before Savannah and Ethans wedding everyone decides to go. However Emma can’t help but feel like something is off with this party. That it isn’t the fun evening they want and that something sinister is about to happy.
Is Emma’s instincts and gut feeling right? Or is she just being paranoid and looking for danger where none exists.
I have grown to love Emma’s characters through all of these books and I love that fact that it’s a historical story however Emma is respected and listened to when she speaks about her gut feelings. She is a strong and determined character who is like a dog with a bone when it comes to getting to the bottom of a mystery.

A Party To Remember is a festive novella in the Notebook Mysteries series. I’d recommend it to fans of the series looking for an enjoyable holiday read. If you haven’t read this series yet you should start with Emma to get to know the characters and their circumstances! It’s a fun historical mystery series with a great cast of recurring characters working together.

A suspicious party invitation has Emma and her friends curious and excited. On the one hand, it’s a chance to wear the fabulous dresses they bought on a recent adventure in Paris! But the strange choices in who has been invited, and the private or secretive nature of the hosts means they have a feeling something isn’t quite right.

There’s plenty going on in this book as characters have lots to prepare for – a wedding, the party, performances. Add in a young girl that Emma and Jeremy have suddenly ended up responsible for, everyone’s got a lot on their plate!

This book gets five stars from me. A great addition to the series!

Great short add on to the Notebook Mysteries series. Finally Savannah and Ethan’s wedding has arrived, but not without some mysterious goings on. It was nice to see Emma and Jeremy being parental, I can’t wait for them to finally get married, and that John Harden and Emma kind of buried the hatchet. She is of course still wary of him but he was just as shocked as she was at the party. Gregory is a little mad and it was time he was stopped.

This is an author that I never hesitate to pick up. Her books are full of mystery and characters that bring life to the story. This book is no different. I highly suggest reading the previous books in this series as well. They will help your enhancement of the characters and series. This is a shorter Christmas mystery that you don’t want to miss. A story about Emma and an invitation to a party that she is confused about why the invite was sent. Emma is my favorite of the characters. I enjoy her determination and what she adds to the story. This is a fast paced story that I read in one sitting. It is hard to put down and kept me engaged to the end. I really enjoyed reading this book. I highly recommend this book and this author.

Emma and gang are preparing for the holidays, as well as a wedding for her co-worker and friend. In the midst of all the preparations, an invitation arrives for a party thrown by an acquaintance. Normally, Emma loves a good party, but this invitation falls under suspicion when she finds out who the rest of the guests are. Is Emma’s intuition, correct? Will this be a party to remember?

This is such a great addition to the Notebook Mysteries series. This novella was fast paced and full of moving parts in the plot. Past characters resurface and Emma is thrown into the middle of trying to figure out the line between trust and suspicion. And on top of that, she and Jeremy are now guardians of a small girl. I really think we are going to see Emma grow more in her roles as the series continues. Looking forward to the next installment!

This has to be one of my favorites in the series yet. Some old favorites made appearances with some new ones. I loved reading how Emma and Jeremy dealt with taking on Henrietta and how the whole family dealt with it. The whole Christmas party, that was a total mystery that had me guessing. I love Emma’s events and what comes up. Such a wonderful series. All of the characters and the writing make for such a great cozy series. This Christmas novella is my favorite in the series so far just because of the cases and issues that came up. The way they were dealt with is easy to relate to. The whole family is so easy to love and they all take care of each other. Just one question, will Emma and Jeremy ever marry?

Off all the Notebook mysteries this is my favourite cover ❣️📚 and I couldn’t wait to discover what Paris held in store for us ….

Who in their right mind turns down an all paid trip to Paris !? I get their reservations and suspicions but let’s not look a gift horse in the mouth , right !?

Imagine being part of those to see the Eiffel Tower ! So our quartet make friends along the way but all is not as it seems and people are not always what they give forth….our friends need to keep their wits about themselves …

A lot of effort went into this story and there’s a certain realism to it which makes one live the story while reading ❣️📚 I’m ready to pack my bags and travel back in time to old school Paris ❣️

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

It is 1889 when Emma and family return and this time they have been given an all expenses paid trip to Paris, so as they prepare for the very short notice excursion, they wonder who is behind it. It is out of the blue, but it is something none of them want to miss out on, especially when they find out that there will be a special exposition on at the same time.

The trip involves a few trains and a boat across the ocean, so Emma is excited that she isn’t on her own this time and that Jeremy, Dora and Tim can enjoy the experience with her. The first night, all four find new people to get to know and so they split the journey between new found friends and family, but they don’t mix together and that puts Emma on edge.

When they get to Paris, they are surprised with their hotel, it is much nicer than expected and bigger too, settle in and make a plan for what they want to see at the exposition over the next few days. As they explore the sights and sounds of the halls, their new friends seem to appear everywhere they do and unusual things start happening to and around them.

They think they can finally have some peace and quiet until a young girl arrives on their doorstep looking for Emma and collapses, when she wakes up, there are more questions than answers for the dynamic duo. Meanwhile, Dora and Tim become privy to a secret they wished they had never found out, but can they solve the intrigue surrounding it by themselves?

This is another thrilling mystery on a beautiful setting as secrets, lies and technology mix to form a dangerous and twisted web around the four intrepid investigators until all the loose ends are ties up in this race to uncover dangerous plots and marvellous discoveries.

Another book in this series that has enforced my love of this author. Another round of mysteries for Emma and Jeremy but this time, Dora and Tim are involved. The four are invited by a mystery organization on an all expense paid trip to the exposition in Paris, France introducing new and upcoming technology. They all decide it would be a nice trip and getaway but it doesn’t take long for Emma to feel like something is not right. I love the prologue that instantly pulls you in. From there you will find two mysteries seemingly not connected, intertwine for an exciting fast paced mystery where surprises keep you on your toes. This is part of a series but can easily be read alone as the characters are described in detail and gives you just enough to not be lost.

This was the first book in the Notebook Mysteries series that I’ve read, and I must say that Kimberly Mullins did not disappoint. I will be going back and reading these books in order and cannot wait to reread this book once I’ve got all of the backstories read. As a standalone novel, this book had me intrigued, I loved how the characters were developed so strongly that I understood them right away, there was no doubt that they were there to solve a mystery and would be successful without a doubt. I love the fact that this not only draws attention to the characters, but you get to experience the beauty of Paris and the excitement around the Eiffel Tower. The setting was portrayed perfectly, I felt like I could reach out and feel the scenery as it went by, I was on the train with all of our characters. I was in doubt of who was a friend and who was a foe, developing a deep mistrust for several of our new characters that are a part of the story. This is a great mystery book, and I am excited to go back and reexperience it all anew as I pour over the previous books in the series. If you love a good mystery book, this series is definitely for you!

This is the 6th book in the Notebook Mysteries series. These books can be read as a standalone however I do recommend reading them in order so you get a complete picture of the characters and how they have grown throughout the series.
This is a great historical mystery story. The author does an amazing job of researching the time period and the attention to detail really pays off as the past comes alive and the reader is transported to that time period. This story like the others are full of twists and turns, danger, intrigue, Mysteries, secrets and lies that Emma and her companion have to unravel and solve to be able to solve the mystery.
The team are in Paris for a big event and while they are there 2 Mysteries appear. One is a young woman who appears and disappears. What is it that she wants or needs and and can Emma and Jeremy help her? The second mystery happens when Dora is told a secret which could have a devastating effect on the exposition. Should she investigate and try and solve this with the help for Tim or will it be to late?

I was completely captivated by this story and couldn’t put it down until i reached the end. I love the characters growth through this series and how strong, confident and resilient Emma has now become. I can’t wait to read more

Emma and Jeremy are in the swig of their business, until one day an invitation arrives for them to travel to Paris, although at first this seems like a gracious gift from a benefactor it all seems just too perfect. Although to there better judgement they decide to take the trip and explore the sights of Paris and the Exposition which is due to be there too.

So while they are seeing the sights and wonderful innovations Emma and Jeremy stumble upon a girl who requires there help but as soon as they are helping her she vanishes, can they find her an understand what is going on, while Dora and Tim are caught up in a plot which they have been told about regarding the exposition, can they race against the time and find out what is really going on, you will have to read the book.

This is the sixth book in the series and although this is a series each book can be read as a standalone, the nice thing in reading the whole series is you get to see the relationship grow between Emma and Jeremy over the time and how the whole crew got together.

I love the historical aspect of the story and the vivid descriptions and words feel like you are transported back to 1889 and experiencing all this with the characters of the book. I love the way these stories weave a web and thrilling adventures that feel like you are with the characters and helping them solve the mysterious as you go along.

I can’t wait to keep reading more and look forward to the next book in this series.

Emma, Jeremy, Dora, and Tim receive an anonymous gift of a trip to Paris during the time of the Exposition. After checking to make sure the gift is legit, they hop aboard a train to get to the ship that takes them across the pond to France. Both couples make new friends on the trip over, and Emma has a hard time adjusting to the idea of not having Dora to herself. She finds herself feeling suspicious of Dora and Tim’s new “friends”. She tries to put those fears aside and just enjoy the trip, but too many “happenings” pop up to keep it all as innocent as it seems. Of course, there is mystery and hijinks happening… I mean, it’s Emma! How could there not be? As the mysteries begin to pile up, Emma finds that her reputation precedes her, which works out fortuitously for all involved!

I truly enjoy this series! The antics, the banter, the characters, they all draw me into the story and time. The author does a fantastic job of finding historical stories and adding her characters into the mix of what could have been happening behind the scenes. The amount of detail and care taken to describe what is going on around them and how the characters feel about what is happening was perfect for me. I felt like I could see their expressions and excitement as they first beheld the Exposition and all of its grandeur. I felt the crush of the crowds as they tried to work their way inside or out of exhibits. It was engaging and very well thought out. I look forward to the next one!

Parisian Intrigue is the sixth book in the Notebook Mysteries series. I love this series, and I’m always excited about reading the next book! Emma is a sleuth solving mysteries in the late 19th Century. Her adventures often coincide with interesting historical events – in this case, we get to visit the Paris Exposition! That’s one of the top things I’d go to if I had a time machine so it’s wonderful to be able to see it in the story.

The setting of this book is great, the author paints a vivid picture of everything from the boat they travel to Europe on to the wonders of the exposition. It’s a wonderfully immersive read!

I like that Dora and Tim come along for the adventure. It’s good to learn more about those characters and see how they get involved in different situations.

I’d recommend reading the whole series – it’s great! And you get to know the characters properly. But you could jump in here if you’ve got a particular interest in the Paris Exposition. It gets five stars from me!

Parisian Intirgue is the 6th book in the Notebook Mysteries Series. While it could probably be read without reading the other books, I wouldn’t recommend it. The series is really great, and I’ve really gotten to know the characters over time. This book takes place in Paris, during the unveiling of the Eiffel Tower, where Emma and Jeremy, and her sister Dora and her husband Tim have gone on vacation. They received a letter with free tickets, and while they assumed there was ulturior motive, they decided to go. Like all the stories, Emma is found in the middle of drama and crime and saves the day. I love seeing the strong women characters, and the support she has from her family. Emma goes way against the norm of women at her time, but her family and friends are beyond supportive. This book is a page turner, and I love that there is a little bit of history tied in. I loved that the author made Dora and Emma’s dad part of the Eiffel Tower building committee, and the tie in of electricity. Can’t wait for the next book. Keep them coming!!

The story starts out with enough information for those who jump into reading this book. I enjoyed reading about the Paris Expedition. Notebook Mysteries – Parisian Intrigue
By: Kimberly Mullins

This is the sixth book in the Notebook Mysteries Series. I have read several of them, but not all of the books. They are all able to be read as a standalone. I definitely enjoyed each and everyone I have read.
Emma is definitely one of my favorite mystery heroines of all time. Emma and her friends have been invited to Paris on an all expenses paid trip. While they are suspicious about the invitation, they aren’t about to turn down a free trip. Therefore, they aren’t shocked when weird things start happening, starting with clingers on on the ship to Paris.
I have absolutely loved how this series has developed. I feel that this is an amazing series and Emma is just a enjoyable character. I love how the author writes and the amount of details she puts in each story. She puts enough detail into the setting that you feel that you are there, I feel like I successfully traveled to Paris back during 1889. I would have loved to go see the world’s exposition back then.
If you are looking for a good mystery series with an outstanding heroine look no further!

I love how the story of Emma and Jeremy has progressed. Not just their characters but all of them. I have loved this series and this book did not disappoint.

This time Emma and Jeremy are able to travel with Dora and Tim (Emma’s sister and brother in law) and go abroad. They land in Paris, France during the exposition.

Of course this trip quickly turns into solving several mysteries but keeps you guessing on all of them. They were invited on this trip, all expenses paid but who invited them? Who is footing this bill? Mysteriously a girl shows up to their room but no one believes her that she was originally there with her mom. What’s the deal with the missing woman? Is there a group against electricity? Will they cause havoc during the exposition?

Now this particular book was full of loosely based facts and based loosely on real people/events. Which this is what I love about this series. It pulls you in because you want to know what trouble Emma is going to come across next but the author does an amazing job at adding in historical facts which keeps it authentic. I truly hope we are able to continue following Emma and Jeremy some more!
