LUCIFER

My mother’s final wish was for me to embrace life and live it to the fullest. I intend to do just that. Despite the town gossip touting the dangers, and my best friend’s admonishments, I set my sights on uncovering the mystery surrounding the men of Eden Cove Manor.

After a confrontation with Mordecai – one of the hot, mysterious Manor men – he’s determined to teach me a lesson. But I’m determined not to let him win the game he’s playing.

Mordecai is running out of time.

I’m running out of fight.

I set out to find answers and got more than I bargained for.

Am I about to become the next secret of Eden Cove Manor?

MORDECAI

Lucifer is a nosy, impulsive, reckless brat. And I’m loathed to admit that I’m drawn to his chaotic energy.

At first, my only intention is to torment him for violating our privacy, but then I discover he may be the answer we’ve been searching for.

Can I convince him he’s the missing piece to our centuries old puzzle before it’s too late?

Lois is a former high school chemistry teacher and former head science teacher at Science in the City Summer Camp in Philadelphia. She has also been an adjunct science teacher at University of South Florida. Since retiring, she continues to take science classes. Her class in Forensic Biology led to Little Red, The Detective, in which Red is studying fingerprint identification, so she can tell that “Grandma” isn’t who she says she is.

Lois has taken so many science classes that she believes science is the solution to almost every problem, including the dilemmas in fairy tales. She has invented what she calls Science Folktales. In each science-based tale, the protagonist achieves a better ending than the original because of learning scientific principles. She has turned some of these tales into plays.

She has also created a series of Mermaid Science stories, which make use of water science.

Lois is married to the love of her life. She has two children, four grandchildren and a dog.

Some of her treasured possessions are several much-loved books by Marguerite Henry. Heidi Stark is a dark contemporary romance author. Originally from New Zealand, and after making her way across the US mainland, she now resides in Hawaii with her partner and her cat, Fang.

On the rare occasion she’s not writing, you can find her at the beach, voraciously reading dark romance, watching horror and thrillers, listening to podcasts, working out, cooking something new, or fulfilling her reality TV addiction.

Heidi enjoys writing badass FMCs and smoking hot, morally grey men who’d stop at nothing for the women they love. This includes enemies to lovers, forced proximity, protective and possessive book boyfriends, and the odd st@lker along the way. And while these stories are generally very dark and full of spice and angst, an HEA is always guaranteed.

Heidi loves keeping in touch with her readers, so feel free to reach out on one of the many social media platforms she’s on.

Necromancy the Musical by Debbie Hibbert – Review by Carrie Reed

Necromancy the MusicalNecromancy the Musical by Debbie Hibbert
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book is super entertaining. I wasn’t sure at first how I was going to feel at first based on the synopsis, but I was quickly hooked. Necromancy here is not viewed as icky, it is viewed as a power for good, and Cece uses her power to help her dad. The amount of awkwardness she has around her new “friend” Zach was cracking me up, and mad her character that much more lovable to me. The whole book I was playing detective myself trying to figure out who the castor was that was messing with Cece and I was surprised and not surprised at who it turns out to be, but the story behind his harassment and connections to Cece, and why he wanted her magic was icky. Zach and Cece’s relationship is sweet, and I really loved watching their interactions. Portia, her best friend is a riot and a truly good friend. The ending, there was no cliffhanger, but I am left wanting to know what will happen next with Cece’s mom. And will her dad ask out the FBI sketch artist!

Sarge by Stuart Ledwith – Review by Carrie Reed

SargeSarge by Stuart Ledwith
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I had read Mission 3047 before this book, and I do recommend reading Sarge first as it gives insight as to who Sarge is. I really enjoyed a look back in time to how Sarge grew up, and what he went through to get to the place he is today and how he came into his line of work. It is nice to see he had Mr. Blackburn and Miss Hattie supporting him and encouraging him, I don’t know if he would be who he is without them. Sarge’s love story is sweet and devastating, and his life story is very entertaining and interesting.

My Inner Critic by Christine Bernard – Review by Angela Hayes

My Inner CriticMy Inner Critic by Christine Bernard
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

3.5 Stars

My Inner Critic by Christine Bernard turned out to be quite an interesting read. Knowing that it is the authors own story told through a make-believe world, made this all the more engaging.
A women’s fiction story that has so many relatable details that touched close to home for me. Facing anxiety, insecurity, the feeling of not quite fitting in, worrying over everything, and spending way too long listening to the harsh opinion of the ‘inner critic’. This proved to be touching and thought-provoking!
“Part love story, part self-love story.
Part truth, Part fiction.”
Well worth the read!
Happy Reading…

Thank you, Christine Bernard!
