Detective Dylan is super excited when his new detective kit comes in the mail. His sister is also excited but told to stay far away from his kit, as it cost him 8 weeks worth of allowance! When the neighbor lady can’t seem to locate her missing mail, including pictures of her grandkids, Dylan and his faithful sister assistant jump into action. They interview the neighbors, collect fingerprints, and keep notes in their notebook. When a set of symbols occur in the mud, they have a big clue and they are eventually able to solve the mystery of the missing mail.
This was a great book that includes some slightly bigger words that some kids may not know. There is a section at the end of the book that goes over these words. A great vocabulary builder for the eager reader! I’m looking forward to the next book to come out, expected in 2024!!

I wasn’t sure what to expect from this one as I’d never read anything by this author before. I was pleasantly surprised by this quick and interesting dive into military adventure with TJ/Sarge. Sometimes I get a bit worried about short books as I feel they can leave out too many details that could’ve connected the reader to the story, but this author pulled it off very well. I have not read the related book, Mission 3047, but I plan on picking it up since I enjoyed this so much. I was pulled in from the very beginning as the author knows how to create engaging characters that have you invested very early on. I highly recommend picking this book up and reading about a determined Sarge!

Maeve (pronounced like Brave but with an “M”) has an exhausting but rewarding job as a midwife/nurse. She’s surrounded by people in all walks of life and gets to help them bring new life to the world. Her husband, Will, is in a new life of his own while his catering business gets up and running.
When the Chief Obstetrician (Maeve’s coworker/boss) dies suddenly at a wedding her husband is catering, her world is suddenly plunged into more chaos. Suddenly Will is il under suspicion and Maeve is trying to find out who killed the doctor and clear her husbands name.
I’m a race against time, she’s got to stay ahead of the game and pray the killer doesn’t catch up.
You’ll jump right into action with this book. It moved at a very fast paced and I was definitely surprised along the way. It’s not my typical read and I found the blurbs at the beginning of chapters to be very interesting.
While I don’t think I’ll read the rest of the series, I was pleased with this book and definitely recommend it for someone who enjoys cozier mysteries.

As soon as I saw a new book by this author I knew I had to read it straight away. This book is absolutely fantastic, and everything I have come to expect from this author. I loved this story. There is so much going on and the book could have been twice as long. I thought it was a well written and exciting book, which I could not put down. The characters we’re perfect for it too. The whole cast were brilliant but the main two were the best to focus on. I connected with them so easily and loved everything about then. This author has very quickly become one of my favourites and I would urge everyone to read their books. A fantastic read and I cannot wait for whatever this author does next.

This children’s book tells a story about a little bird who is eagerly anticipating the hatching of an egg that has been laid in her nest. However, as time passes, the bird becomes worried when the egg won’t hatch, and she tries everything she can to encourage it to hatch. She sings to the egg, sits on it longer, and even tries to teach it to hatch. But nothing seems to work.
As the story progresses, the little bird learns an important lesson about nature and the different ways that living things develop. She comes to realize that some things are out of her control and that sometimes the best course of action is to let nature take its course.
The book is beautifully illustrated, and the story is engaging and informative for children. It teaches them about the natural world and the importance of patience and acceptance. Overall, “This Egg Won’t Hatch” is a delightful read that is both educational and entertaining for kids.
The Men of Eden Cove Manor by Naomi Valkyrie is a unique and intriguing tale that will keep readers on the edge of their seats. The author does an excellent job of bringing her characters to life and creating a world that is both mysterious and alluring.
Lucifer is a fun, spirited character who is determined to uncover the secrets of Eden Cove Manor. His bravery and determination make him an admirable protagonist, and readers will find it easy to connect with him.
Mordecai, on the other hand, is a complex and brooding character whose motives are not always clear. He is the perfect foil for Lucifer, and the two characters have excellent chemistry throughout the book.

Overall, The Cold Kid Case by Rosalind Barden is an exciting and engaging mystery novel. The story follows a determined and spunky eleven-year-old girl named Sparky who finds herself on the run and wanted for murder after discovering a dead girl on a park bench. Set in 1932 Los Angeles, the book paints a vivid picture of the tough times and struggles of the era.
The plot is well-crafted, with plenty of twists and turns to keep readers engaged. The characters are memorable, especially Sparky, who is easy to root for. Tootsie, the former silent film star, and the mysterious goblin also add an interesting element to the story.
The writing style is engaging and well-paced, making it easy to get lost in the story. The author does an excellent job of capturing the time period, and the dialogue feels authentic.

Mission Target is the seventh in the Jack Wolfe Thrillers series, although each book can be enjoyed as a standalone. Jack, and his highly trained dog Cody, have been called on to help eliminate a vast terror threat facing the US. Jack also faces personal threats that put those he loves in danger.
Jack and Cody are a great team, taking care of each other and combining their skills to great effect. I also really like Sarah, Jack’s partner, who can keep a cool head in a crisis and shares Jack’s affection for animals. This is really a great series for readers who love animals and thrillers!
There’s plenty of detail around each action scene or stunt that takes place. I’m a particular fan of the ones where we find out afterwards important details that made things work out, a reminder of the careful planning going on behind the scenes (and Jack’s tendency to throw that out the window and improvise!).
I’ve enjoyed other Jack Wolfe books I’ve read before and this continues the trend of gripping, intriguing thrillers with plenty of humour and lightness for balance. It gets five stars from me!

This is a nice addition to the series. The beginning confused me a little since I didn’t know why the couple was on the run already. It worked itself out but was a few chapters into the story. I enjoyed getting to know Dingo since he hasn’t been a huge character in past books. His lady was a surprise but worked out well. They have had difficult pasts they are working in overcoming. It is nice to see past characters and a few from the authors other series. I lije seeing where they are now and what is going on in their life. Emmie and Brick surprised me the most even though they had a small part in here. The other three (I wont mention their names) always add a different element to the story. Overall this is a good solid seventh book in the series. There are some changes and growth to the story and characters. Oh and beware…This one does have a gruesome factor near the end with a couple characters showing off their work.

After reading Rowan and Arryn’s story and meeting Rowan’s brother Phaedron, I was hoping to get a book for him. Alindra has been through a lot, being a magician in the Kingdom of the Summer, a life altering secret and an escape plan foiled by Phaedron showing up in her room. Phaedron while searching for his brother stumbles upon Alindra and she agrees to help him find Rowan if he helps her flee her kingdom. Along the way Phaedron drove me absolutely nuts. I could tell Alindra really fell for Phaedron, but he was too stuck in his own insecurities about his arm that he couldn’t look at the woman who saw him for who he was. Rowan in this book really goes through the ringer, I am so sad to learn of his role in bridging the kingdoms, and how he was used by his own father. Even with an appearance altering injury he was still upbeat and fun loving. This has been such a wonderful series, very enjoyable.
Terri Sabol’s book Kneading a Winning Idea is beautifully illustrated.
I enjoyed how the story was told through dialogue making it feel authentic. I also enjoyed Ben’s trial-and-error experimentation and thought process as he tries to perfect his recipe. I also thought exposure to more than one “knead” definition would broaden kids’ vocabulary. Loved the twist of what/who helps Ben save his recipe! Overall, a sweet never-give-up boy that shows grit and has a fantastic story to tell.

The illustrations are bright and colorful, adding to the charm of the book.

Sarge by Stuart Ledwith. We first meet Sarge in Mission 3047 but don’t really learn a lot about him. This is his story and we learn all about him. It can be read as a standalone though. Its the story of Sarge and his many life lessons in growing up. He is a deep character that grew up in a rough way and ended up becoming a very decorated Navy Seal. Its tells of his marriage and all the trials and tribulations they went thru. Its a very telling story of a man making something of his life after he was dealt a hard hand. Such a informative, interesting read. I highly recommend it.

This children’s book was cute but not one of my favorites by this author. I read it to a 3 year old and she loved the pictures but wasn’t a big fan of the story. A little girl thinks there is a monster under her bed and her brother doesn’t believe her. Her monster is there and scares her until she isn’t afraid of him anymore.

Saint Con by Seelie Kay. This is such a good romantic suspense read. I love this author and this genre so it was right up my alley. Its the story of Jessica a corporate attorney and Con a former priest turned street lawyer who tries to help the homeless. When Jessica runs into Con at a wine bar she instantly dislikes him. He’s rude and not friendly at all but there’s something about him that intrigues her. Con is smitten with Jessica and he finally wears her down. Their relationship is moving pretty fast when Con goes missing. Jessica had devoted her life to her job and was very rigid in life but Con had changed all that and now she will do whatever it takes to find him. This is a quick read and a great romantic suspense!

Oh my gosh this book was so good!!! So good that I went right away and ordered book two and three as soon as I finished it! Yes, it was that good!! I love the whole take on the werewolf mate bond in this book. It was a nice twist and I can not wait to see what happens next with all these characters! Jasmine is a good girl. She follows all the rules. She goes to temple. She doesn’t date. She gets straight A’s. She trains more than most. And she is just overall a well rounded good person. Well that all goes flying out the window when she finally meets her mate. Unfortunately, he’s already been with someone else and because of that her whole life is falling apart. Not all wolves follow the strict rules like Jasmine was. She was brought up to save herself in EVERY way for her mate. Blake is the soon to be alpha of the pack. His mate was taken from him before he even had the chance to mark her. It almost killed him to lose her. He’s not the same person at all. Leaving for a few years helped, but now he is back and after meeting a shy quirky girl his world is tipped on it’s axes. His common sense flew out the window. Self-control melted away and who knows where his discipline went!! He can’t help but like her, but she is destined to be matted to someone else and he can’t mess with that gift for the Goddess. Luke messed up. And I mean, big time!! He keeps trying to right all his wrongs, but he just can’t seem to get anything right. He betrayed his mate in HUGE ways. Arriving Home is a New Adult MM romance tale. This is the second book I have read by Chelsea, and it pulled on my heartstrings. The Evergreen family where a little cooky, a lot loud, brash, and definitely an eclectic bunch that are in your face, but you can’t help but like them. Sounds a bit like my family. But it is not all sunshine and roses in this story as both characters are complex with lots of flaws and pain and have a lot of issues but Eli by far has so much to unpack before he should even think of a relationship thanks to the cruelty of his previous relationship. It makes my heart ache for what he went through and there is definitely a lot of angst. The story does contain some sensitive topics such as abuse that may be a trigger for some readers. There is pain, suffering, longing, wants, denial, fear and much more. We see inner struggles and journey along as they work through the demons and hopefully find love. I like Chelsea’s writing style and I wanted a little more in the end, but the story felt like there was more too be said before it ended, and I needed a few questions answered but it just kind of stopped. Any way I look forward to what Chelsea gives us next. As I said about Underneath The Whiskey this book will not be for everyone, but I encourage you to give it a go.

I cannot ever get enough of dystopian novels. YA dystopian novels always seem to have the best storyline, too. This book has a very similar feeling to Divergent or the Hunger Games, but it absolutely has its own plot and storyline which I loved. You get to know Lexi, part of the white administrative section who takes her placement test with the green garden section in mind. Her plans do not work out and she ends up in the brown trash separator section. I know, but trust me, there is never a dull moment in this book.
Reeves is the man she is assigned to marry. He seems to take his vows seriously and supports her through thick and thicker. I do not blame Lexi for wanting nothing to do with the person they assign you to, but I do not know that she would have been able to find a more perfect match for herself if she tried. She just needs to get past her stubbornness and realize it!
Also, I had goosebumps and chills galore while they were caring for Janie. All of these characters have such a personality that it is difficult not to form opinions about each one. I am not one to spoil the end of the novel, but I promise you will not be disappointed. I cannot wait to read the next in the series!

Never one to shy away from any topic Naomi brings us another wonderful M/M paranormal tale. I have read everything Naomi has written and I have fallen in love with the characters and their stories and this one is just the same. I love that this story is different and unique, interesting and fun, I loved it. I love the way it is told in dual POV’s of two characters even though there are more characters, as it is the perfect way to get a true feel for the characters and who they are. They are complex and well developed fully realised individuals with their own flaws, quirks and personalities. As usual I was blown away by Naomi’s unique narrative that brought the characters and their world to life. The Men of Eden Cove Manor is quick read, but a captivating tale and I wished it was longer. There is drama, mystery, secrets, banter, a centuries old puzzle and much more. There are more than a few surprises, and twisty turns as well as sizzling chemistry in this M/M romance as we unlock the layers and mystery of Eden Cove Manor. I am not going to tell you anything about this story other than it is a must to be picked up and enjoyed because as Naomi says – The men of Eden Cove Manor have a secret, and it’s about to be discovered. And what a discovery it is. Girl, you have done it again!

Rise of the Y is the first book in the YA dystopian series, The Y Chronicles. This was my first experience reading Angela’s work and wanted to see what she brought to the table. Angela has created an interesting world. It is a short, clean story with a Christian element that I found to be a little slow in the beginning, but it did pick up. I am not a religious person so I kind of skimmed over those things. I really wanted to like it and the storyline was intriguing, and the premise was a good one even though I did not connect with the characters. Whether it is because of my age or not I don’t know. Lexi no longer knows who is friend and who is foe as she is thrust into a world that she no longer trusts. She just want the freedom of choice. With tragedy, secrets, rebellion, danger, deceit, forbidden alliances, lies, hidden diary, rebels it has a bit of everything. Overall, this story wasn’t for me but please give it a try, I am sure YA’s will enjoy it.

4.5 stars I have not read anything by this author but it looks like she writes in a few different genres which is good because I really enjoyed this book and her writing style so I will be more than happy to read more of her work. Eight mail order brides for eight Marshals I can’t wait to read more. Joy’s Christmas Escape is a sweet, heartwarming historical romance story. This captivating mail order bride tale is fast paced, interesting with plenty of drama, some suspense and tension and a little danger in the wild west. It is the first book in The Marshal’s Mail Order Bride series. This is Joy and Jacks story and add in a little Christmas elements and it’s a winner in this new series from Ms Creeden. The characters were wonderful. The plot and the characters were well thought out and well written. Luck has never been on Joy’s side. Now she needs to escape the clutches of a man she wants nothing to do with and becoming a mail order bride may just do the trick. She hopes against hope that she is not going from the pan to the fire. Marshal Jack finds himself in a situation he never thought he would be in. However, that necessitates him to step outside his realm of comfort to find what he needs. What he finds is something he never thought he wanted nor needed. I look forward to reading more books in this delightful series.

This talented author has done it again! He has brought us a really entertaining read which gives us a much better insight into the character Sarge who I first met in the book Mission 3047 and I am so glad I read it. I am really enjoying this authors writing style and creative stories. If you haven’t read either book I would start with this book first but don’t worry if like me you are reading them out of order your reading experience will not be hindered in any way.
