Luke (Default Distraction #4)Luke by A.S. Roberts
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A jamming series
Absolutely in love with every rocking book in this series. With drama, self-discovery and hot rockstars – how could I not? The series is uniquely written in that events are presented in each book from a different perspective as each band member discovers what their hearts desire. They all were like family and with each book I felt closer. This book topped it all off with Luke and Nikki’s story. The paths that they have walked to get to where they are filled with heartache and tragedy. Little Brie just stole my heart. I can not recommend the whole series enough.

Fate, Frankincense & Funerals by Naomi Valkyrie – Review by Deb Robinson

Fate, Frankincense & FuneralsFate, Frankincense & Funerals by Naomi Valkyrie
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A short but poignant book. On the surface this book is a wonderful love story of finding a mated bond. When you look beyond the surface the story brings an awareness of racism and fear of others different then yourself. The author shows that love comes at any time in one’s life whether you are ready for it or not. The strength of our elders is given to the next generation to be brave and stand up for what they believe in no matter the consequences. A very enjoyable quick read.

Amazing addition to the series
This series keeps on surprising me. In this instalment we are back with Zelda and Scott as they navigate their life together. Scott is still struggling with his gift and Zelda with her mental illness. So mummy emotions bounce throughout the pages. Angel, Logan and Russ are all there too to offer support. Loved the writing and how the author presents everything so raw and real. Highly recommend.

Hold your breath – mafia action and romance
Second book in Amy McKinley’s amazing series and I can’t get enough. I was reading, rapidly turning the pages, soaking in the action, drama and suspense. Loved the characters, loved the world building and loved the storyline. This book follows Sofia and Enzo, told in dual POV and continues on from the heart-stopping events from the first book. Highly recommend reading the first book before this one as it really helps with the backstory. Now to wait patiently for book 3.

She is determined to be at her fashion show debut. Secrets are revealed from the past. Will everything be ok or will it blow up Sofia’s world. THIS IS A MUST READ.

Tenacious (Billionaire Bodyguards Book 6) by Via Mari – Review by Stephanie Chapman

Tenacious (Billionaire Bodyguards # 6)Tenacious by Via Mari
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Tenacious: Billionaire Bodyguard by Via Mari is a story about Allie and Nick. A human trafficking ring is after Allie and her best friend Lexie. After previously thwarting the plans of the leader, Allie assumes that she no longer needs a bodyguard. Unfortunately, both women are still in danger, requiring lockdown. Nick, Liam, Trent are her bodyguards from Prestion Corporation and are vigilant in their duties. Nick has an ulterior motive. Without Allie’s knowledge, he had privately funded her personal bodyguard services while he was stationed in another country. A noticeable attraction presents when they are together, and both of them recognize this. Allie refuses to have any relationship, still reeling from her childhood and a failed relationship that was a carbon copy of what her mother had endured. Nick becomes creative and starts chipping away at Allie’s defensive wall.

Via Mari created a quick read romance with Tenacious. Then she crafted a major side plot that intensifies that danger element from the human trafficking ring. By attacking a major and current social issue, this is a book that can raise awareness to the rising problem that is worldwide. This is a 5-star story worth reading, and I would recommend young adults and above pick up a copy. I caution readers sensitive to explicit scenes that this book does contain several scenes, including BDSM club play.

Magical and romantic
Book 2 is just as beautiful a piece of writing as book 1. This picked up straight up where book 1 left me dangling. Phillip and Kat’s commitment to standing by each other no matter the obstacle is amazing. Sacrifices are made and emotions tested in this epic tale. A brilliant conclusion to a wonderfully written duet that made my heart content.

This sexy story follows Lincoln (Mr Hottie) and Harper as they navigate life, love and a soon-to-be little one. Easy to read this book had laugh-out-loud moments, soul searching and romance. – oh and Mr Hottie Fischer.

Snowflakes & Stockings (A Wilton Hills Christmas Book 4) by Marianne Rice – Review by Sarah Vanscoy

Snowflakes & Stockings (A Wilton Hills Christmas, #4)Snowflakes & Stockings by Marianne Rice
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

“Snowflakes & Stockings” by Marianne Rice is a holiday romance novel. Liberty is an investigative reporter, who has been assigned to discovering Maine’s Secret Santa. Her search leads her to Sawyer, co-owner of a very successful tech company. There is immediate attraction, and she is soon introducing him to her large family. I loved the very relatable family gathering scenes in this book. The sibling banter and teasing warmed my heart, and gave us a better glimpse of Liberty and Sawyer’s personalities. This is the fourth book in the Wilton Hills Christmas series, but can be read as a stand-alone book.

Sweet holiday romance with a great story line
This book focussed on Liberty and Sawyer, a very level-headed couple which kept the story very real. Sawyer’s story is pretty sad and the way Liberty supports him was sweet. I loved the big personalities of the Johnson Clan and how the family is so close. A brilliant addition to the series.

Resistance is futile
I absolutely love this series. If I thought Hunter and Rain’s story pulled at my heartstrings – Derek and Julia’s story nearly ripped them out. This story follows on from the first book and we see more development and action from the Resistance. The brilliant world building and detail that I have come to love from Brittany Anne are delivered flawlessly and had me engaged from start to finish. I can’t wait to dive into book 3. Totally recommend

No Way Out (Mafia Elite, #1)No Way Out by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I just finished No Way Out. Wow. How so many families intermix and become enemies and allies. Lilianna is the daughter of mafia boss Benito. She is property and nothing else. She is to be used as a pawn to ensure alliances and power are gained. In the background forces from another side are trying to bring Benito down and save Lilianna in the process. This book had so many twists and turns. Just when you thought you knew what was going to happen, you get turned in a different direction. Author Amy McKinley did an excellent job bringing you into the mafia world. Going to be reading book 2. That’s a guarantee.

Come Back Tomorrow (Embrace Tomorrow Duet Book 1) by Amy Argent – Review by Sarah Vanscoy

Come Back Tomorrow (Embrace Tomorrow, #1)Come Back Tomorrow by Amy Argent
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

“Come Back Tomorrow” written by Amy Argent, is Book 1 in the Embrace Tomorrow Duet. It is a tragic, heartbreaking story about psychologist, Tori, who befriends Will, a young terminal cancer patient who has been admitted to the hospital she works in. There is so much mystery surrounding Will. He does not have any family or friends that visit him, and seems to have given up on hoping for remission. Tori begins to visit him every day and he starts to open up to her. Their bond is absolutely beautiful, raw, and honest. I couldn’t help but laugh out loud with some of their witty and clever dialog! This is an amazing story of finding peace, hope, and love, even when you least expect it.

Mystery, Royalty and Eleven magic
This was a brilliant first book to what I am predicting is going to be an awesome YA fantasy trilogy. I fell in love with Nix and Zoe and the world created by K. M. Wray. The story is full of action and doesn’t get hung up on drama. The romance is clean, almost innocent, and I really enjoyed that the major focus was on the adventure and the character’s self discovery. I absolutely can not wait for book 2.

Red’s Peril Part 1: The making of an MC Prez (Satan’s Devils MC Vegas Chapter) by Manda Mellett – Review by Deb Robinson

Red's Peril Part 1: The Making of an MC Prez (Satan's Devils MC Vegas #1)Red’s Peril Part 1: The Making of an MC Prez by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Author Manda Mellett had me in tears about 3 or 4 times in this book. She spins the story so you are emotionally invested in the characters. You feel like you know them and you certainly feel their happiness and trials. Red’s story can be broken down in several categories. He has gone through so much, from losing his dad and others close to him. He finds himself leaving on the road to who knows where but somewhere with no snow. The feeling of freedom to get on your bike and just ride south with no destination in mind. That would be amazing to almost all of us. Even if just for a short while. Red finds himself in Tucson Az where the story really starts to take off into the land of MC. Loved Loved Loved this book. The characters interact with characters from other books which I love but are not necessary to read if you start with this book. Amazing amazing author. You will not be disappointed with any book from Manda Mellett.

Enjoyable quick read
I enjoyed the story line and the paranormal aspects of this book. This is the first book I have read by this author and even though it is the tenth book in the series there is enough explanation to know what’s going on. The use of imagery is well done but sometimes I found the conversations between characters a little stilted. Overall, a series worth checking out.

Drama and intrigue
Another great legal mystery in Crawford. I found myself hooked into the drama of the court case. This had a very different feel to the first book but just as intriguing. Lauren finds herself right in the middle of a tangled web of lies, greed and corruption. The authors does a great job in delivering a balance between the legal terminology and a creative plot line that kept me turning the pages.

Incredible
The world Via Mari has created just blows my mind. I really enjoy her books and the level of crossover between her series is amazing. This book follows Nick and Allie. The alpha dominant Nick is swoon-worthy and has his work cut out for him with Allie. I really like the depth of the story. Even though each book follows a different couple, it is so worth reading all the books in the series for the backstory. You won’t be disappointed.

Fool Me TwiceFool Me Twice by Glede Browne Kabongo
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Wow, just wow! Browne Kabongo has blown me away with this novel. If you like the thriller genre and a fast paced read, then I highly recommend this one!

I was hooked as soon as I started reading, Browne Kabongo has a beautifully unique writing style and has done very well with this novel. Anytime I had to put the book down to do something I couldn’t get it off of my mind, definitely a page turner!

Very few novels I’ve read have had a character who shares my name, I believe it added an extra layer to the psychological element for me with this one.

I plan to go read Browne Kabongo’s other works, and I’m sure they will be as unique and captivating as this one is.

The synopsis peaked my interest as an original take on a dystopian world and had me curious about what this book would be like, it definitely lives up to its title: Born to Fight.

Cursed Luck (Broderick Coven Book 5) by AJ Renee – Review by Deb Robinson

Cursed Luck (Broderick Coven, #5)Cursed Luck by A.J. Renee
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed the continuing story of the Broderick Coven. All the brothers and sisters have such unique personalities, the author does a great job of portraying throughout all the books. This is the story of Mia and Edward. Mia grew up as a hippie/ flower child with an affinity for earth magic while Edward was a total loner after his dad died. He even pulled away from his growing family of siblings and their mates. Edward has the talent of helping others succeed. Mia and Edward could not be more opposite but when love is in the air, who knows what is going to happen to this dynamic couple. I’m not going to give the ending away but book 6 will be on the horizon. I’m excited to see what happens next.

WOW!!! This book had me on edge until the very end. I don’t usually read psychological thrillers but I have to say, that might just have to change. I loved this book. The author sure has an amazing grip on keeping your mind on twists and turns. I was trying to figure out who the murderer was and was stumped. This poor family went through hell and back over and over. I could not put this book down. If you are like me and don’t usually read this genre of book. This is a great place to start. I was thinking about this book even when I wasn’t reading it. I will be reading this author again and again.

Mia and Edward’s story is so multi-layered. Both need to understand themselves before they can understand each other. AJ Renee once again builds a brilliant world I love to escape to with characters that become like family. Highly recommend this book and the whole series.

Goddess of EverythingGoddess of Everything by Paul DeBlassie III
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is an intense read; be sure you are ready, as it is not at all a ‘light’ read. It is definitely not something anybody can read, especially if you’re sensitive to harsh subjects. With that being said, this book is one I would highly recommend!

This is my first read by Paul DeBlassie III, and you can bet it will not be my last. DeBlassie III has written an original, intriguing, page turning, edge-of-seat sitting supernatural thriller.

DeBlassie III has a one of a kind writing style, creating extremely vivid visual pictures and characters. There is a lot happening in this book, but it is layered very well with the characters and varying storylines. This book with suck you in and not let you go until you’re finished!

I really love the authors writing style and getting chapters from other characters POV. If you haven’t read the first two books – I suggest starting there as it will give you a better understanding of the storyline and the series as a whole. Fingers crossed that there will be a book four.
