Well hey there vodka. I sat on this book for a bit debating if I wanted to read it and I kept seeing so many amazing reviews coming in! I have never read anything by either author and I am glad I read Scarlet Princess. Rowan is brave, witty….amazing! This book has romance, laughs and the ability to keep you going. I can’t wait for book 2!
Fool Me Twice by Glede Browne Kabongo

A thrilling twisted ride.
This was an amazing suspenseful thriller. It is layered with deceit, envy and revenge. A word of warning, this is the type of book that you can not start when you have other things to do. Once you start it grips you and you won’t be stopping until the end. The writing just flowed and the author was very skilful in placing the twists that took me by surprise. Absolutely brilliant – highly recommend.
Born to Fight by Brittany Anne

Terrific series starter
This was an unexpected surprise. I was intrigued by the synopsis but I really didn’t think that I would be so drawn in so quickly by the story. The story moved along at an easy pace and the world building was brilliant. I became quickly invested with the characters and their plight. This story has it all – suspense, romance, action and drama all presented in a world that could one day be our future. I really enjoyed the multiple POV as this gives a good balance to the story. Looking forward to reading book 2.
Stranded: Cetacea Chronicles Volume 1 by Feather Chelle

Informative and creative
This was a very engaging and cleverly put together read. Most people, especially children, have a natural curiosity about the ocean and this book presents the facts in such a creative way. I was drawn in by the natural imagery and the story built around real life issues. Highly recommend as a must-have addition to any home and school library.
The Bastard Prince by Alix Nichols

Treasure hunting and healing
Even though this could be read as a stand-alone, I feel it’s a much better read having read book 1. In this book we get to know Arnaud, the half-brother prince. I found this book had a more serious edge compared to the first book. There was still banter, fun sexy times and treasure hunting adventures but they each have their own emotional traumas to deal with and the author did a great job in keeping it real. Loving this series and can’t wait for book 3 – so intrigued by Theo.
Silent Gavel by Merissa Racine

Mystery, suspense and drama
Silent Gavel is the first book I have read by this author. I found the writing had a good flow and the story had enough mystery to keep me guessing. The characters were interesting and the plot well developed. An enjoyable cozy-mystery read for a lazy weekend.
