The Lies Between Us by Cynthia Cooke
Four Stars

The Lies Between Us: A Psychic Romantic Suspense is the fourth book in the Deadly Secrets series by Cynthia Cooke. This is the first book I have read by Ms.Cooke, but definitely won’t be the last. I had no trouble reading this story, so it can be read as a standalone. I’m looking forward to going back and reading the first three books in this series. Tom and Cat’s story is full of twists and turns I didn’t see coming. I was up late reading because I just had to find out how it would end. It was definitely worth the loss of sleep. I haven’t read a Romantic Suspense in a couple of months, so this was a great book to jump back into this genre. Highly Recommend!

CAFE CONFIDENTIAL: An unfiltered and intimate memoir by Lynda Filler

5 out of 5 stars
I have read a few books written by Ms. Filler I jumped at the chance to read her memoir. I wish I could just up and sell everything I owned and buy a one-way ticket for amazing adventure. While reading Ms. Fillers memoir you could feel her emotions and her strength through her journey. The way she describes the countries and places that she visits each country is very vivid and the people that she met on her journey make you feel like your there with her and I loved the pictures.
I really recommend this memoir written by Ms. Filler and see what she gets up to in her amazing journey.

Big City Heat: A High-Rise Romance Anthology is a collection of 12 short stories in just about every genre of romance. From a different city comes different romances from billionaires – fake relationships – older men – LGBTQ – office to mafia romances. With a lot of these authors being new to me, I only really read A Hole by Phoebe Alexander.

The Queen’s Dog (Empire at Twilight Book 3) by N.L. Holmes
4 Stars!!!!

I have to say that I do like to delve into history and have a bit of intrigue and all the drama of the royal courts. I really found myself glued to this book as the drama played out. I really like the twists and turns. The author does a great job of building the story and the drama around the characters. I really got caught up in the deception of the royal court and the plots.

I like how the author is able to use historic reference and keep it realistic. The characters really come to life and seem to just jump off of the pages. I found the whole story to be quite well balanced with court intrigue and drama along with just enough of the characters history mixed in. I really look forward to reading more from this author.

Faerie’s Magic is the second book in the Seasons of the Fae series.
The cover is magic all by itself! It puts a spell on you and you can’t resist getting the book. I don’t want to give the story away so I will simply say this – Faerie’s Magic is a wonderfully spun web of paranormal adventure, danger, magic, drama, and of course, romance. The world building and detail of the characters makes the story come to life.

The Queen's DogThe Queen’s Dog by N.L. Holmes
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Queen’s Dog by N.L. Holmes is the third book in the Empire at Twilight series. This is my favorite book in the series so far. What will you do for the love of another? This question falls on a eunuch slave who has fallen for his Queen in the Syrian kingdom of Ugarit. This becomes not a story of failed romance but of mystery and intrigue. I really enjoy the descriptive powers of the author taking me back in time to an ancient kingdom. The characters are well written and interesting. I want to know what is going to happen next as I am reading which causes me to stay up all night. I usually enjoy my historical fiction in the Victorian age but this has me hooked. I look forward to reading more from this author in the future.

This is the third book in this series which I enjoyed just as much as the two previous books. This is a well developed story that has characters that bring the story to life. They made the story engaging and entertaining to read. I had no problems connecting with them. The twins, Izara and Kain are back in another supernatural story. In this story they find themselves being pulled in opposite directions. They also find themselves battling their inner demons. Will they lose everyone the love and care about? I really enjoyed this series and this book. It is a fun story that the author has written easy to read. Izara and Kain made such great characters and really made this story for me. I highly recommend it.

This is an easy, engaging story that kept me turning pages to the end. It has twists and turns that keep you wanting to know what will happen next. Logan makes a great character and always finds herself in the middle of something. In this story she finds herself in the middle of two murders. My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Interesting new YA read by C.A. King.
The name caught my attention first with it’s double meaning…. it gave a great insight into the direction the Author took this story.
With some humor and tepicle teenage problems mixed together with a new take on supernatural fantasy, Super Sorry has it all.
Great world building and the MC is funny and spunky just how I like them.
But the stand out in this story was definitely her sidekick……

This is my first read by McKenna Dean, not knowing what to expect I went in open-minded and I was really surprised at how much I enjoyed it. This book is full of action, adventure, mystery and suspense and I was hooked from the get-go! This was a mentally visual read, and with the author’s brilliant descriptions it makes it that much easier to connect to the storyline and the characters she has created. Being part of a series I thought I would need book 1 to really get an understanding of it, but it flowed effortlessly on its own. I highly recommend you pick up this read.

Wendigo Forest is a YA Paranormal story by C.A. King and is everything you would want in a short story. It is full of fantasy and myths that are well written and fast paced. You will be brought along on the adventures that Clara experiences and discovers.
Thank you Ms. King for well developed characters who become realistic the deeper you get in the book. My only complaint is that it would have been amazing if it had been longer so that we could have gotten even more in depth and close to the Fawns.

The Lies Between Us: A Psychic Romantic Suspense by Cynthia Cooke is action packed, has dangerous moments, and includes romance! Once you get started, you’ll have a hard time putting it down. Even though this book is part of a series, I had no trouble figuring out the characters and how they related to each other. I especially liked learning about Cat and Tom’s relationship. The book starts out with Cat finding out that her husband Tom is in danger, is not a pharmaceutical rep like she believed, but is actually an undercover FBI agent. Tom found out not long ago that Cat is not only an intelligent woman but also has psychic abilities. What will all these secrets mean for their marriage?

In this story Adam and his friends use their experiences and skills as survival. They now find themselves in a war which they have to fight the past, will they survive? The Magic of Christmas by Christi Barth is an enchanting enemy to lover’s romance tale. It is a slow burn, sweet and fun read with witty banter. I enjoyed Christi’s writing style and the setting of the story. Two people after the same promotion, one a workaholic and the other the son of the owner. It is a vivid world Christi has outlined for us and it makes you feel that you are right there with the magic of Christmas. It is a simplistic and easy story for a quiet afternoon read.

Thunder on the Moor by Andrea Matthews – Review by Jenni Bishop

Thunder On The MoorThunder On The Moor by Andrea Matthews
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Thunder On The Moor by Andrea Matthews is a historical romance story that has been born from historical events from the 16th century and it is easy to see that Andrea is passionate about it. It makes for an interesting read with time travel and being set in Scotland (as I love Scotland, it is my favourite place from my world travels), but I found the story long, a little tedious at times and slow going. I also found it hard to connect at all times with the main character, Maggie and found myself skimming through the pages. There is plenty of action and danger and interesting facts, as we learn about the life of a Border Reiver, clan wars and the events of that time.

3 stars.

I have to say that C.A. King has a wild imagination. I have never read a story quite like this. I loved it! It was quirky and original. A Merry Texan Christmas (Prentice Brothers of Sweet Ridge, #3)A Merry Texan Christmas by Nicole Flockton
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a series I have enjoyed from the first book. I was happy to find a third book out and Christmas to boot. This author has continued to impress me with her attention to details and her writing skills. I was pulled into right from the beginning and kept engaged to the end. This is a shorter romance story that will pull at your heartstrings as well as your soul. The characters bring the story life and make it feel realistic. I had no issues connecting with them. This is a story about Trey and Maggie. Trey is looking forward to a quiet life as he opens his new bookstore. He is excited to decorate for the holidays but he never expected to compete with Maggie who has been nicknamed as Miss Christmas. What will happen as they compete against each other, will they find more than Christmas spirit? Who will win? This is such a great Christmas story that I really enjoyed. I enjoyed watching the growth between Trey and Maggie. They have great chemistry whether they see it or not. I found myself hoping that they would find their HEA. What happens with them you will need to read this book which I highly recommend. It will put the Christmas spirit in your heart for sure.

Bishops Gambit by McKenna Dean is the second book in the Redclaw Origins series. This is a brilliant example of a great detective novel and I liked the fact that it was set in current times. It meant the book had a unique feel to it and the story feel new and refreshing.
The characters were great as well. They had such a strong connection and just seemed to work really well together – both professionally and beyond. It felt like you could really get to know them!
The author has a great writing style as well. She kept the story moving at all times and really gave the characters the room to tell their story. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I am looking forward to what comes next.

The Fire God Tour (Moore Family Saga Book 3) by Michele Sims – Review by Karyn Taylor

The Fire God Tour (Moore Family Saga)The Fire God Tour by Michele Sims
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Fire God Tour is a fantastic paranormal romance by Michele Sims. It is the 3rd book in the Moore Family Series. This was the first time I had read any of Michele Sims work so was unsure what to expect from this book.
What I got was fantastic characters and a storyline that I was gripped to from the very beginning. What I also got was a huge shock as I didn’t realise that this was a paranormal book and the first time that there was paranormal activity in the book, I had to read it a few times to make sure of what I was reading – oops!
Although this is the third book in a series this book can be read as a stand-alone. I hadn’t read any of the previous books in this series and could follow and understand the storyline without feeling that anything major was missing. I do, however, now want to go back and read the books that come before The Fire God Tour.
Ari (Miles) is a fantastic character to read. He has so many different facets to him. I could read about him all day long. I also adored Bella and loved the interactions between the two of them, reading Bella’s angst at her growing feelings for Hip-Hop sensation Miles.
This book is a fantastic paranormal romance and if that is your kind of thing then I’d definitely recommend this book.

When I first read the blurb for this book it sounded like something I would enjoy and it absolutely was! It was a fast paced thrilling read and I really enjoyed it. I’ve read a few books by this author previously when they have been included in anthologies and always enjoyed what I read. I loved the main characters, married but so many secrets between them. There was quite a lot of action in the story and I loved trying to guess what was going to happen. I was interested to find out if Tom and Cat’s marriage could survive so many secrets!!
The story is on the shorter side but it definitely was not missing anything at all!! I am definitely looking forward to more to come from this author in the future! A highly recommend read!!

Super Sorry was a wonderful read full of everything I’ve come to expect from this author. I really liked the main character Sarah; I did feel sorry for her at ties with everything she was trying to navigate in her teenage life. This book has so much going on in it, in a good way- from espionage, an undercover investigation, history, romance, paranormal elements, suspense, action, danger, and some unexpected developments-which all made for quite an intriguing read.
As expected, the story is really fascinating, and Ms. Dean definitely didn’t disappoint- proving once again that she has a real gift for storytelling!
