John the Baptist: As His Soul RemembersJohn the Baptist: As His Soul Remembers by Stuart P. Ledwith
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was an interesting, historical story about John the Baptist and how his teachings about love and equality helped to change people’s thoughts and beliefs.

It is a heartwarming story as his relationship and connection with Mischa  grows but it is also heartbreaking because of the outcome.

Its a story that teaches us that everyone is equal no matter who they are or what they believe and that everyone deserves love and compassion. It is a very thought provoking story especially in the current world.

A Dead Man Speaks (A Clive January Mystery #1) by Lisa Jones Gentry

This is the first book by the author that I’ve read. It won’t be my last by Gentry. She’s got a great way of wording and her characters. I highly recommend this for Crime lovers.

Clive had a bad life. As a young boy his mom didn’t want him. His father takes him and they move into a boarding house. The lady of the house takes them in.

Clive loses his father and his mom comes to take him back. He takes off after he graduates because he can’t take living with his mom. The quote I chose for Clive is: “What did that guy really say?”

Rock Star on the Verge (Rogue Series Book 9) by Lara Ward Cosio – Review by Karyn Taylor

Rock Star on the Verge (Rogue Series #9)Rock Star on the Verge by Lara Ward Cosio
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Rock Star on The Verge is the 9th book in the Rogue Series by Lara Ward Cosio. This series is set around Irish rock band Rogue, the band members and their families. I had read a couple of the earlier books in the series, those with Danny Boy’s story and really enjoyed them and was looking forward to reading another book in this great series.
This book is a bit different in that the romantic element totally takes a back seat, the book is much more of a coming of age story for Donal and a re-evaluation of life for Conor. I hadn’t read the books with Conor’s story but I really loved getting to know him in this book. It was hard reading about him struggling with depression after the death of his father after losing my own father to Covid recently but could totally understand what he was going through.
I absolutely loved the camaraderie between Donal and Conor as they went on their journey, literally and figuratively. Donal has always hero worshipped Conor and I loved reading about him getting to see the real Conor.
Another thing that I really loved about this book was seeing the other Rogue guys and their families again. There is such a great bond between them all and the support they give each other is fantastic (as are the put-downs they give each other too).
I really enjoyed reading this book and would recommend it to anyone considering reading it.

Rock Star on the Verge(Rogue #9)by Lara Ward Cosio

5 out of 5 stars

I have read every single book in this series a few times. I loved seeing the crew and what they have been up to and what trouble they are causing. I have always though that Gavin was my Favorite but nope Connor F###ing Quinn is my favorite. I loved seeing how Ms. Cosio has shown how the characters have grown and they still go through everyday drama. We have watched these guys grow from boys to men and their families grow. Now we get to see what the younger generation and if they too have musical talent like their famous fathers.
This story is about a journey for two lost souls. Connor has been feeling the blues for a while now and Donal Martins eldest son has been making a name for himself but not in a good way. Connor is turning 40 and felicity throws him a surprise party. At this party Connor and Donal are talking and Connor realizes that all their kids are living the privileged life even though Donal has lived the ridicule and scrutiny. So, Connor suggests a road trip what goes on, on the road trip is totally different than Donal is used to and not just that Connor is not acting himself.
I am going to end this review like this because you really need to read the story to find out what happens and what their Journey has entailed and where they go from there,

A DEAD MAN SPEAKS (A CLIVE JANUARY MYSTERY BOOK 1) by LISA JONES GENTRY – Review by Francis O’Sullivan

A Dead Man Speaks (A Clive January Mystery Book 1)A Dead Man Speaks by Lisa Jones Gentry
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A Dead Man Speaks is the first book in Lisa Jones Gentry’s Clive January Mystery series. The premise of the book is that the deceased Mr January can’t rest until his murder is solved and is able to communicate with Detective Bob Greene to help him. Which should really make the case easier for Greene except that what he gets from January are a series of powerful memories from throughout his life which send him chasing up all kinds of leads which may or may not have anything to do with January’s death.
The story takes a while to get going. For the first twelve chapters it feels like January’s life is flashing slowly before his eyes. This gives us a fair bit of backstory which is useful later on, but I think interspersing this with aspects of the murder investigation would have given the story a more momentum. It is worth persevering, though, as it is an interesting story and the pace and tension do pick up later in the book.
Detective Greene is a complicated character. He testified against a partner who murdered a black teenager but did nothing in the moment to stop his partner. This means that pretty much everybody dislikes him, and his apparently confused morals make it hard for the reader to warm to him. He is persistent, though, and determined to find justice for January.
For me, this is a four-star book. It requires a fair bit of attention and patience but rewards you with an intriguing, tangled mystery with plenty of twists and surprises. I’d recommend it to mystery fans who are interested in ghosts and the paranormal. I’m looking forward to reading the sequel!

The Saint of Liars is the second book in the Lucky Devil series, i recommend reading them in order! I thought the first book was fantastic, but then i got my hands on this one! Old faces and new appear in this book, and it will keep you even more invested than the first one! Although both books have left me with unanswered questions, i’m sure the author will get to that in future books! I thoroughly enjoy this series so far and i just cant wait for more!

It’s never too late to discover yourself.

Connor is in a plato at the moment with life events catching up with him, turning 40 and losing his father he has kind of lost his purpose in life. Although his wife understands there is just no real drive anymore for his career until he takes his godson under his wing and they go on a road trip of discovery.

Dolan has been a part of the rock world ever since he was born, having everything handed to him, he does not seem to have the drive to make his band successful. His relationship with his father is rocky, so when his godfather and idol decides to go with him on a road trip to meet a girl he met online, they both discover things they didn’t know that they need to find within themselves.

This is the first story I have read within the Rogue series and I have to say although I followed the story and characters I would recommend reading the series from the beginning, I have missed the growth of these characters through each book and would love to go back to read them in the future to understand these complex characters.

Although I had not had the chance to meet them before this did not deter from the well developed story that was woven in the book, the relationship between the two main characters was heartwarming and believable. I loved the self discovery moments within the story as you are never too old to find yourself especially after tragedy. I would recommend this series to anyone who loves to read a great book and story.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Saint of Liars is the second book in the Lucky Devil series. I highly recommend reading the first book before you read this one to get a good grasp of the characters and events that set this book up. Plus, the first book is an amazing read too.
I truly love the blend of tech and magic in this series. In Saint of Liars, Rune discovers more about her abilities, which is a fascinating aspect of the story line.
The tension between St. Benedict and Rune is nearly palpable. I’ll be interested to see how that plays out in future installments. St. Rachel is kind of a person I love to hate. Well, not hate really, but she keeps throwing a wrench in the potential romantic works.
This book is a stellar read! Highly recommend it.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

As always another fantastic collection of 5 star stories in this anthology. I love all of the authors in this box set and I would never hesitate to pick up any of their books. It’s so hard to choose favourites when you enjoy all of them but as always I have to mention Tamara Ferguson! I absolutely adore her stories long and short! The characters she creates are just amazing and in the story included in this anthology Two Hearts Truce they were just as I expected wonderful, relatable characters who you just cannot fail to take into your heart. I love how her stories are always different, nothing is every the same. I also really enjoyed Whiskey sour by Jen Talty – I fell in love with this story straight away, Boone was so lovely and I desperately wanted everything to work out for him – there was definitely some chemistry going on in this story. I’ve read a few stories by this author now and I love her writing style, she never fails to engage me and writes about wonderful characters! Another story I really enjoyed was Falling into Love by Natalie Ann, this was a really nice read with wonderful characters.
Overall another AMAZING anthology that I would 100% recommend!

I have really enjoyed this series so I was looking forward to this fifth instalment and I wasn’t disappointed at all. I really like Ms Hamilton’s writing, I find it really engaging and I have definitely become invested in the characters after so many books! Although there is quite a lot going on in the story I never once felt lost or confused about what was going on, the authors writing was smooth and seamless. There are some great twists and turns that had me guessing what was happening and would Madeline and Mike being able to solve these cases!
I am very excited for the next book in the series! I can’t wait to see what awaits these two characters!

Self Made (Freshwater BOOK 2)
By Belinda Williams
5 out of 5 stars

I loved reading the book Self Made (Freshwater BOOK 2) by Belinda Williams. It is a story that pulled me in from the beginning and I was hooked. I love the characters of Jessica Jinks and Ant Monticello. Jessica is a woman who has an online fitness brand. She is smart, independent, and determined to be successful. She is the perfect one to help transform Ant. She doesn’t expect the feelings that she begins having for him. Ant is a man who has a comedic comeback for anything. He can make you laugh. His makeover has changed Ant. Is there a future for Ant and Jessica? Read this book to find out what happens. I grew to care about Jessica and Ant with each chapter that I read. I enjoyed the bantering that goes back and forth between them. I couldn’t help but wish for them to be successful and happy. I also enjoyed reading about the additional characters that interacted with Jessica and Ant. Each one has a part to play in the story. The author does an amazing job of making both the storyline and the characters come alive on the pages. I found myself lost in the book. Don’t miss out on an entertaining and exciting story. I highly recommend reading it.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the 3rd book in the Chase Security series and it was definitely my favourite! I liked the first two but I just found myself completely gripped by the story in this one. I really liked the characters Julian and Holly and I absolutely adored Holly’s daughter Sadie! She was such a special little girl to read about. Julian’s character appeared in book 2 of the series but I really enjoyed getting to know him more in this instalment. He’s such a lovely character, really genuine and I loved the connection he had with Holly. I was definitely rooting for these two the whole way through because they both deserved to be with someone special.
Overall a really enjoyable read, although part of a series it can be read as a standalone. I look forward to more from this author in the future!

Rock Star on the Verge (Rogue Series #9)Rock Star on the Verge by Lara Ward Cosio
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I struggled to write this review. In one way it’s great to see all these guys again. I love seeing the camaraderie between all these characters. It’s cool that it’s still the same even though they are now older. But I feel it’s kinda sad that Conor and Felicity have already been through so so much and now…they are struggling again. I hate that! I know “it’s life and all” but if you have read these guys previous stories…they don’t deserve this. Even though Conor is spending time and kind of teaching Donal on their trip…it is just sad. I would think it could have been told without Conor trying to find the excitement in his life…again.

This story is told from varying point of views. We get to see most of the cast members tell a little bit from their side. But it mostly focuses on Donal, Conor and Felicity.

It is well written and I do like the vibe of the story near the end. Donals growth as a writer/ singer as I’m thinking we are being set up for second generation stories. I do like this series I just thought enough is enough with these poor characters. My heart can’t take anymore.

The Saint of Liars (Lucky Devil #2)The Saint of Liars by Megan Mackie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book is so much better than the last one. I know..I know… I needed the last one to help make sense of some of this one. We see a lot of the same characters coming back into play. This story is full of suspense and has a lot of action. It just kept rolling right along and I could hardly put it down. Plus there is the whole side story between Rune and St Benedict. Will they or won’t they? Can they or can’t they? To be honest…this area still left me up in the air. I even read slowly and multiple times.

Overall it’s a real good story. Characters that are likable and you learn to care about. Sometimes it take you out to left field but the story doesn’t leave you there. It always brings you back.

THAT INCREDIBLE KISS (Kissed By Fate Book 3)THAT INCREDIBLE KISS by Tamara Ferguson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

When your life seems set, then a blast from the past arrives that you have not seen for 10 years. Can your heart survive another chink?

Ashley and Brian had a rocky start when they were at school, a brief kiss has played on both their minds ever since graduation. Brian then served his country and now finds himself back in Crystal Rock but will a chance meeting with Ashley brings back all those memories from back then.

Ashley was self centre as a girl growing up but as the years have gone on she has become a independent and strong woman, until one chance meeting with Brian all these years later may have her thinking anything is possible.

There are no words that I have already not expressed regarding this great author, all her stories draw you in and have you feeling you are living the relationships with them and this book is no different. I loved the way you are glided along with there story and get to see this relationship develop as you weave through the wonderful world of Crystal Rock and Dragon pointe Inn with the secondary characters just makes you feel like you want to visit this beautiful place.

This book can be read as a stand alone but to be honest you need to read everything by this woman there is never a bad story and they always make you want to read more by this wonderful author, go check her out.

I am so upset, This is book 9 and I’ve only read book 4 before this. I swore I’d read them all before the next came out and I didn’t yet…This series is going at the top of my list to get read…I love love love these characters, its weird that after only reading 2 of the series I still am able to feel a connection to all of them, this for me is a sign of an awesome storyteller. I truly though need to have the complete history of this cast of characters. I feel such loss when reading things I should know about and don’t. Will have this completed by the end of this year.

I have a serious girl crush on Felicity, she is everything I know I could never be. The connection between her and Conor is out of this world beautiful. I could never see myself handling things the way she did in this book. My heart literally broke for Conor because you could almost feel his pain and confusion through the words written.

The journey this story took me on was like no other, and I enjoyed every single second of it from the places to the experiences, the laugh out loud moments and the deep conversations. Realizing what life really means for each of them. Finding what they each were missing and wondering the whole time, who is really helping who here. I love that this author made this a new generation / old generation coming together to teach each other very valuable life lessons. I also love that we get so many different POV’s throughout…I remember that being a favorite of mine in Book 4. I also loved the emotions that were brought about in this book.

I can’t recommend this book enough, I do however recommend starting at the beginning, don’t do what I’ve done, these characters are so tightly woven together you will want so much more as I do!

Can not wait for more and will absolutely be ready when the next one comes along 🙂

LOVED IT!!!

This is one of the third books from this author that I’ve found myself enjoying. The author has a way of educating his audience in making his subjects more human than anything else that they are. Very good job placing the characters in a more interesting light than we’ve learned outside of a religious view.
