The Elements of the Crown (The Elements of Kamdaria Book 1) by Kay L. Moody – Review by Trish Ann

The Elements of the Crown (The Elements of Kamdaria, #1)The Elements of the Crown by Kay L. Moody
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This started out slow for more me but as I got more involved, it really picked up for me. I enjoyed the elemental magic as well as the competition and strategy. There were several plot twists which really helped keep the hook that initially piqued my interest. This book felt like others I have read in this genre but with its own unique twist. I read this with the mindset of the target audience and I think that is what helped me feel connected when reading it. Overall worth the read.

Spoilsport (Pierce Brothers Book 2) by Belinda Williams – Review by Trish Ann

Spoilsport (Pierce Brothers, #2)Spoilsport by Belinda Williams
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I love books like this one. I read the first one and fell in love with the Pierce Brothers. This story was no different. I really loved Luke and the way he go Nadia to turn around. Nadia bothered me in the first story as Chelsea’s best friend. This story I got to understand her a little more which made her come around for me a little more. If I didn’t enjoy the story and Luke as much as I did, I would have probably only given it 4 stars since it really took a lot for me to get around Nadia’s attitude and almost immaturity. The back and forth between Nadia and Luke was fun to see unfold as renovations went on. I hope that there will be more in this series with the other Pierce brothers.

Cross-Country Christmas (A Silver Buckle Brides Romance) by Laurie Lewis – Review by Trish Ann

Cross-Country Christmas (Silver Buckle Brides #1)Cross-Country Christmas by Laurie L.C. Lewis
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

There is great chemistry between CC and Reese. This was a good mix of romance with life lessons along the way. It gave a good picture of why it is important to not let the past hold you back from moving towards your future. I liked the part that Emmie and Carlos played in the story and the setting was a bonus for the story. This was a cozy Christmas read for sure. I would definitely read more by this author.

The GroomsmanThe Groomsman by Marina Hanna
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I absolutely enjoyed this book! I loved the chemistry between the two characters from the moment they met until the end. While I guessed parts of the story (which annoyed me yet I understand that Lauren did not), I found it really well put together. I felt at times that some of the immature/mature behaviors between Mark and Lauren got in the way of the flow even though I understand as a reader why they were built that way. I appreciated the arc their relationship had and I liked the way their outside friendships/relationships played a part in their development, too. I would definitely read other books by this author.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Rock Me To the Top was a phenomenal read. I love how you could feel the push and pull of the characters emotions. The love of 2 best friends and whether or not they should take it further. Victoria Zak did a phenomenal job illustrating the story, how their relationship grows, with her words. If I didn’t have 3 kids to take care of I would never have put the book down. It definitely had me in all my feels. I honestly can’t wait to read book 2.

Fate, Frankincense & Funerals by Naomi Valkyrie – Review by Ashleyann Sanabria

Fate, Frankincense & FuneralsFate, Frankincense & Funerals by Naomi Valkyrie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

An MM Romance with more than meets the eye, Fate, Frankincense and Funerals was a quick, cute read. If you are a fan of fated mates, shifters and MM romance, definitely give this one shot. It was a pleasant journey discovering the whole truth behind the events of the story. My only complaint is that I wish I had more time to spend with these characters. Acheron and Errapel were definitely two MCs to route for. I am keeping my eyes open for a continuation to this story, hoping to get a growth arc for Acheron and a push for change in the society they live in. Carissa’s story was also intriguing and I am excited to see how that would affect things. Here is to hoping there is a sequel!

Practically Pagan – An Alternative Guide to Magical Living by Maria DeBlassie – Review by Lorrene Huisman

Practically Pagan - An Alternative Guide to Magical LivingPractically Pagan – An Alternative Guide to Magical Living by Maria DeBlassie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I can not express how happy and how much joy I felt as I read this book. I do choose to walk the path of being Pagan, and this book had wonderful excerpts of spells and magical things I could add to my way of life, so that was beautiful to me, and I found there was a lot of good neat things for me!

I find more than ever we need to find that spark or that magic in our daily lives. Before the pandemic I did and am Pagan. A book as this with ideas how to find those moments of magic were very enlightening to me, I am going to have to get a paper book copy of this to high light and mark pages for myself, as there was a lot of beneficial things in this beautiful book with a magical cover!

Besides the ideas and spells which I really wanna try them all out, I loved the author wrote her experiences to her way of life, living magical, and magically in life to the fullest each day. always found it interesting and breathtaking how people choose their path! Besides all that, I also enjoyed how its empathized (as I always try to live with my mind set) to live well within yourself! You matter and the earth and the elements are all around you, but no matter what kind of life you live, keeping yourself as well as your soul well is vital especially in todays world! This was a calming fulfilling book to read for me!

Again I am someone who walks the path of being magical. Sometimes life happens though and my energy is literally brought down, this book gave me wonderful reminders to why I walk my path, and extra and new ideas and such I can do to add to my days to make the magic bright and shiny as well. If your someone curious on magical living, or even like me who walks the path, I suggest you read this book! You may learn new things, and find these things are the sun you never knew you needed!

Ashes of Aldyr (The Obscured Throne Trilogy Book 1) by Russell Archey – Review by Netania Lim

Ashes of AldyrAshes of Aldyr by Russell Archey
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I usually love fantasy but am not really into horror so I was interested to see how the author added that to the genre. I think that darker aspect was done really well. However, this is more of a series of short stories related to a single event called the ‘Rupture’, which I didn’t realise going in and was very confused. Although I like short story collections, I found it difficult to connect with the characters and there wasn’t really enough about the Rupture itself to really learn any details about it. I also found the world-building almost too descriptive and I would have preferred much more dialogue and action. Having said all that, I did enjoy the writing and that seems promising for the rest of the trilogy. Overall, a unique dark fantasy read.

Luke (Default Distraction Book 4) by A. S. Roberts

Please, please, please let there be a next generation of this series.   I love these guys and I’m so not ready to say goodbye to Default Distraction.

I loved all of the guys but I think Luke may be my favorite.   Was it his back story?   Maybe  that has something to do with it but there was something about him that made me love him just a bit more than thenother guys.

Nikki is almost as amazing as Luke but for totally different reasons.   She had a who cares what people think attitude and it was a perfect fit with Luke and the boys.

I don’t know if I could gave enjoyed this book or series more than I did and I will keep my eye out for the kids stories one day. 🤞🤞🤞

The action continues with Scott and Zelda in book 3 of the series. If you thought the first two were full of twists and turns, buckle up because this book has you in for a bumpy ride! I would highly recommend reading the first two books before attempting this one, as there is a lot of backstory that will add to the emotion of this one. Overall a very good addition to the series, though definitely not for the emotionally faint of heart!

If you enjoyed book 1, you will definitely enjoy this one as well! It continues with our favorite characters from Peaceful Slumber, Scott and Zelda, but follows new characters this time around. While you don’t have to read the first book to follow this one, it definitely adds to it. Like the first, there are many twists and turns that you won’t see coming! It’s another enjoyable read that I would highly recommend!

This book uses a somewhat common theme – the ability to communicate with and see the dead. However, it spins this theme into an unexpected romance, and it works better than you would think! I enjoyed this easy read, especially how the two characters, Scott and Zelda, developed throughout the books. Both had satisfying stories and character growth, and there were twists that I definitely didn’t expect! There were times that I thought the book was over and questions were being left unanswered, but all the loose ends were tied up by the end! I would definitely recommend this book!

Love’s Reverie (The Stardust Duet, Book 2) by KG Fletcher – Review by Tamisha Janay

Love's Reverie (The Stardust Duet, #2)Love’s Reverie by K.G. Fletcher
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the second half of the series from KG Fletcher. I was just as satisfied with this book as I was with the first. The characters are just as unique here, and the story keeps you on the edge of your seat. We start right where the last one ended. Phillip decides to follow Kat into the future and potentially get his happily ever after. Brand new identity to avoid anyone realizing he’s a time traveler? Check. An altercation with Spencer AGAIN? Check. Surprises that cause everything to go wrong more than once? Check. I have read multiple time travel novels. I stayed away from them for a long time out of fear that they would all have the same premise and not keep my attention. I am so thankful that these books crossed my path and will gladly be reading any and everything that I can get my hands on by this author. If you’re looking for something that will keep you engaged from page one until the very end, these are most definitely the stories for you. If given the opportunities and challenges they were given, what would you do? Grab both halves of the story today! You will not be disappointed!

Snowfall Serenade (Soul Connection, #3)Snowfall Serenade by Nikki Lynn Barrett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I read this series in less than a week, back to back, I couldn’t put it down!
So. Many. QUESTIONS! Of course, I loved it (can I note that I am not normally a huge paranormal fan, but Barrett has written this series in such a way that it doesn’t have me rolling my eyes for how unrealistic ghost stories tend to be… like, I can actually imagine this all happening to someone as it’s being told. COLOUR ME IMPRESSED!) but I am now impatient for the next installment as there was a teaser at the end and it did its job. It teased. I have been teased. Now I want the book!
This installment followed Scott and Zelda again as they went through their lives; their family fuller and happier thanks to the addition of lifelong friends, but of course something is missing. Tragedy strikes, and then it strikes again, and again. They really cannot seem to catch a break. Meanwhile the three-year old little princess is taking everything in stride and their friends are assisting in every way they can. Secrets are revealed, boundaries and relationships are tested, and characters are introduced.
Can’t wait for the next book and to see what literary 180 Barrett will take this time!

by Manda Mellett

4 out of 5 stars
I have read quite a few of Manda Mellett’s books in this series and I really loved them. Red’s Peril was slow going in the beginning but it picked up speed ½ wat through. The main character was well written and I loved his way of thinking he is also strong minded and hell bent on the road.
We met Red in a few other Satan Devils books he is the president of the Vegas chapter. Book one shows us how and why he became the president and the man behind the name. We watch him grow from a teenager taking care of his family to him on the road with a few twists and turns.
I will definatly be reading book 2 because I really want to find out what happened. I just hope book 2 has a greater punch for me…

Fate, Frankincense & Funerals by Naomi Valkyrie – Review by Moriah Venable

Fate, Frankincense & FuneralsFate, Frankincense & Funerals by Naomi Valkyrie
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Fate, Frankincense and Funerals is a novel by Naomi Valkyrie.

The title of the novel caught my attention and I thought it was perfect for Halloween.

Acheron is a Vulture shifter that is shunned by society because of his involvement with the dead. He takes an assignment to go to the city of Mandara. There he encounters Errapel, the nurse that is looking after the soul he is there to assist. Errapel is also the reason he was pulled to the city in the first place. Law states that Vulture shifters are not to take mates so what is Archeron to do? Leave the man behind or fight society’s rules?

I love how Archeron tried to fight his attraction to Errapel at first. Even walked out the room when he suggested they could try. But I had a feeling he would give in eventually.

I really wish this was longer. It ends on a slight cliffhanger so I am hoping we will see these characters and learn more about their future together.

I have read a few books from this author and she always blows my mind. This is the second book in the very addictive Maffia Elite series. This book could be read as a stand alone but there are some previous characters in this story as well. I love a good mafia romance but this author always exceeds my expectations. I was so excited when I got this book I stopped everything and started to read it immediately. I was hooked on the very first page and I couldn’t put it down until the end. I can’t wait to see what this amazing author will write next.

Enzo and Sofia have known each other for a long time. They have been through a lot together since they both live the mafia life. Enzo told Sofia that he would always be there for her but when tragedy strikes they are ripped apart. Sofia is now a clothing designer and she loves what she does. The Groomsman (Unexpected Series – Book 2) by Marina Hanna – Reviewed by Dr. Anya Schultz

The GroomsmanThe Groomsman by Marina Hanna
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A great romance is portrayed in “The Groomsman”. This is a story about an unavailable, lifelong bachelor, Mark, and a hopeless romantic, Lauren. They meet at a wedding, like so many singles, but instantly have a strong connection. Only problem is Mark is emotionally unavailable and only like to have sex with women, but never a relationship. Lauren has him questioning all of those original insights he thinks he has. What he doesn’t tell her is that there is another person in his life that takes precedent. Lauren is a great character and while always wanting to find love, she is patient, genuine, and willing to work for what she wants. I loved watching her grow as a character and feeling pleased in the end with how she handled herself. Mark, however, over complicates everything and you kind of want to shake him into reality. However, in the end, the two characters find their way, flaws and all, in order to find everlasting happiness. I really enjoyed their love story and watching the ups and downs so many of us have dealt with in our lives. I think they could also teach us a few things about love: it is worth waiting, don’t over complicate an existing feeling, and if you stay true to yourself, but learn from your mistakes, anything can happen!
