This series is the perfect mix of suspense, intrigue, and romance. Caffrey kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time and kept me turning pages well into the night. The plot line for both books flows so well and there are some really great twists and turns that had me gasping as I read. This series is really just all around fantastic. In the first book, we meet Evelyn and Patrick and their character development both independently and together is phenomenal. I also love that James, the cheeky wingman for Patrick, is really such a huge part of the plot but he doesn’t come off creepy or forced. In the second book, we get James and Tessa’s story and Caffrey does it again with the character development both individually and together for these characters. What I love about these stories is that you don’t have to read one to read the other, but with them combined why wouldn’t you?! Grab this today along with your hot beverage of choice and a cozy blanket and settle in for forced proximity, witty banter, suspense, action, forbidden love, protector, damsel in distress, and an ultimate HEA. I love stories by this author! They are clean, quirky, and full of fun! You don’t have to be a young adult to appreciate the writing style and stories either! Holland just moved from Arizona to Colorado and the adjustment is a bit. The climate change alone would do me in but add in teenage angst, trying to fit in, and life in general. It’s a familiar scene for anyone who’s been a teenager before! I felt like I was there in the hallways with Holland and her friends, but I really never ever want to go back to high school!

I enjoyed reading this young adult fantasy story. This is a well written story about what happens when you don’t know who to trust and believe. What happens when Arcella has to go deep into the darkness to save those she cares about? Question is, will she survive? I enjoyed her character and what she brought to the story. She made the story come to life for me. She is connectable and relatable. I enjoyed watching the story’s growth throughout the story which made the story easy to read. This is a fast paced, hard to put down story. An engaging story and series you don’t want to miss. I enjoyed reading this story. I highly recommend it and this series.

Be My Little Baby I was really impressed by Stephanie’s debut novel, Mistaken Identity, so I was eager to read more of her work. I didn’t have to wait long before the second book in the London Detective Agency series was released. In this sequel, PI James Moore is brought in to help when a woman’s peaceful life is disrupted by a stalker. The police were unable to assist, so she turns to James for help. The only problem is that there’s chemistry between them, but he has a rule against dating his clients. This thrilling story is packed with mystery, danger, and excitement that unfolds at a brisk pace. It’s a suspenseful romance that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Will James be able to uncover the stalker’s identity before things spiral out of control? You’ll have to read the book to find out. I’m looking forward to the author’s next work!
Absolutely riveting mystery series. I have read them both and I love the fact that they are now available in a complete set. This is a set full of action, humor and some romance. I loved the chemistry between the two main characters in each story. Each story had a very nice flow. The stories were written very well. They were very easy to become engaged in. The characters were very relatable. You almost felt like they were your best pals. This is a mystery set that I can definitely get behind.
This is a fantastic collection in Book 1 & 2 in the London Detective Agency series. I loved both books and the story-lines had me at the edge of my seat.
Book 1 – Mistaken Identity Wow! What a debut novel….Mistaken Identity is a intriguing, fast paced story fill with drama, mystery, greed, corruption, suspense and some romance. I really loved this story and I am excited to what is to come in this series. I was at the edge of my seat while turning the pages trying to find out what will happen next as the story unfolded. Already to say I very highly recommend this book… what a roller coaster of a ride this story took me on.
Evelyn Stevenson is to study abroad as a graduate student ready for a new adventure being away from home. While trying to navigate where to go next at the airport and accidental bump into a stranger leads Evelyn down a road of danger and mystery, especially when her bag is mixed up by this unknown stranger. Book 2 – Be My Little Baby Be My Little Baby is Book 2 in the London Detective Agency series and after reading the first book and absolutely loving it, I was excited to dive into this story featuring James. I highly recommend reading the books in orders as you get to know the characters and are captured in each of the stories. I loved the story-line, suspense, drama but also the sizzle and spark between James and Tessa that kept me turning the pages to see what happens next….
Tessa Lopez is a bakery business owner, building her business, but now becomes the target of stalker. When the police do not step in to help, she hires the newly famous PI James Moore. When James takes on Tessa’s case, he never expected for the instant connection to light a spark in him. When the threats toward Tessa become more evident…will James be able to find out whom Tessa’s stalker is before it is to late….. definitely read and find out…

This book is such an interesting read from the moment you pick up the book. It was much more intense and in-depth than I expected from the blurb, which pulled me in, in a way that I did not expect. I connected with the characters with ease and wanted to know so much more about them. It really felt like I went on their journey with them. This is the first book that I have read by this author and I really like the fact that I was so surprised by this book. Having read so much, it really does take a lot to present me with something I wasn’t expecting, but that is exactly what this author did. I am really looking forward to seeing what else she has to offer.
This book is a great addition to the Detective Dylan series and I think has to be our favourite one so far. Dylan is a great character to read about and, as a family, we always seem to become so invested in his adventures. For me, what made me really connect with this book was how engaged my son was. He thought the whole thing was so entertaining and has insisted on reading this book multiple times already. This series was our first introduction to this author but she is slowly working her way into being one we have to read more about. This book was a pleasure to read and we are already looking forward to more fun adventures to come.

Night Sweats and Hockey Nets is book 3 in the series. Each book can be read as a standalone however, it’s best to read in order so you don’t have any spoilers from previous books.
This books is about Coach Bowman’s adult daughter Chloe Cooper who recently became a widow and the best goalie ever who is currently with the Storm Chasers Nikolai ( Niko ) Drugov. Nikolai is going thru a rough custody battle with his ex wife over their daughter Ayana. He currently needs to find a nanny to show he has proper childcare for her. Chloe and Niko shared one kiss on Toronto which could’ve led to more if he didn’t get a call from his lawyer.
Niko didn’t know she was coaches daughter until they get back home but they seem friendly enough and she offers to help him out as his nanny until he finds someone he trusts to care for Ayana. She ends up being a live-in nanny when there is a flood at her place. Of course she keeps flirting with him but he does well keeping his distance until he can’t take it anymore. They both agree it will be casual and nothing serious.
Both are on board with that until one of them isn’t. Will they be able to remain friends when Chloe moves back into her place or will they grow apart and regret their time together. Another great read in this series. Cannot wait for more!

The perfect mix of spice, romance, and drama. The character development and pace of the story was perfect and kept my attention from the first paragraph.
The story takes place in Braebeach and follows Ash Chambers (up and coming rockstar) and Calla Bryson (university student) as they rekindle a past friendship leading to a summer romance. They quickly realize what they wanted to be just a fun summer fling was becoming way more than either of them intended. Calla and Ash both had a crush on each other during secondary school, however due to a mutual friend they never acted on it. They now have a chance to see where their relationship could go. Calla’s life starts to change as she discovers she has a brother, and the band Ash is apart of is about to take off. Will they be able to manage their relationship with the distance, outside forces plotting against them, and will Calla be able to handle all the newfound attention Ash will be receiving due to the bands fame?

This is the second book in the Braebeach Rockstar Romance series, which follows each band member and their current lives. Love and Fate has the perfect combination of drama, anger, grief (if death triggers you be aware this story does touch on a wife and her journey after), forgiveness, romance, and a few spicier scenes! Love and Fate follows the lives of Angie and Tommy while also giving us time to catch up on Ash and Calla’s life as well. Tommy and Angie shared a summer romance which ended in a not-so-great way ultimately leading Angie to the love of her life, Scott (Calla’s Brother). Angie, Ash, and Calla were faced with a huge tragedy which pulled Tommy away from his current girlfriend Chelsea so he could be there to help his chosen family through their hard time. Tommy’s feeling for Angie start to resurface leading him to ending his current relationship, shortly after this Tommy winds up trapped in a toxic marriage to Chelsea; after finding out she is carrying his child. This very toxic marriage eventually ends due to Chelsea not being faithful, leaving Tommy to parent Ozzie on his own. He moved back home to Braebeach where his friends (Ash, Calla, Angie, and the other band members currently live). Tommy never really lost feelings for Angie, however due to circumstances the timing has never been right. Will Tommy’s divorce and decision to move be the start of something more for Angie and him or will their timing never be right? Crying, laughing, irritation, anger, and happiness; If you want to feel every emotion possible within a short time this is the book for you!

The first quarter of this book is devastating. However it truly does capture several different ways people handle grief. It has captured raw and real realities for some and pulled out some horrifyingly traumatic truths. Throughout the book Tommy’s strength, resilience and love for the people he cares most about shines bright. Getting over the death of Angie’s husband, Scott, destroyed her and despite how much he loved her Tommy put it aside to make sure the surviving wife of one of his closest friends was okay in the best way he knew how. He offered space when it was needed and always made sure she knew he was there. Dealing with Chelsea was a whole different can of worms. Marrying her when he felt like it was the right choice and giving her chance after chance to do what was right despite all she had done to destroy her relationships was admirable. It speaks to his character growth. Calla, Scott’s sister and Angie’s best friend, was the rock every person needs. Despite mourning the death of her brother she was there for Angie from the beginning. She always had the best interest at heart for her best friend and it truly marked what a best friend is. Angie faced what was thrown at her with grace. Sure she had her moments but I can’t imagine going through all that she had and be the best version of myself at all times. She went at her pace to process everything that had been thrown at her and made sure her obligations were tended too. She showed so much tact and strength in the face of a gut-wrenchingly heartbreaking situation. While Tommy and Angie were slow to come together their stories were unique and it was very worth it. This book is captivating and emotional.

Heaven Only Knows was a really sad book. It started with a massive tragedy and ended with love. The characters felt real and the pain in their stories completely plausible. The tragic story of love lost and the deep pain it causes struck a chord in my heart. The inability to let go of the happiest memories of a person after their death all too real. Unconditional love was shown in many ways from Lou’s life choices after the death of Jacques to Barrett’s final declaration and grand gesture. The Louisiana swamp land feel was present, at least it felt that way to an outsider like me. The landmarks explored and true disasters Louisiana has faced added realness to the book that tethered reality to the fiction. The heartbreaking truth about what different families can look like and how hard it truly can be to see the side from the other point of view was captured. The familial love between siblings/parents and the fear attached to those cast aside by their own families a true testament to how people see the world in adulthood. Lou’s calm nature and desire to help others with compassion and communication derived from her own harrowing past.
This title says it all! It indeed IS Cool to be kind.
I read this book to my 3, 6 & 8 year olds and it held their attention. My 8 & 6 year olds loved the illustrations and the story. We continued our discussion after reading the book about other ways we could be kind in our neighborhood. A great feel good book for kids.

An enjoyable and engaging romantic comedy which kept me happily turning the pages. When pro hockey player Niko shares a passionate kiss with Chloe in a crowded bar, he didn’t know she was his coach’s daughter. However, having realised she’s off limits it’s proving harder than he thought to resist her. Nico is embroiled in a custody battle for his young daughter as well as coming to the end of his hockey career. Meanwhile, Chloe is a widow who is starting a new chapter in her life, whilst trying to ignore the annoying signs of impending middle age. Having decided to focus on fun and adventures she continues to flirt with Niko and show him her own impressive hockey skills. Chloe becomes Niko’s daughter’s nanny when he needs to prove to the judge that he can take care of her. With Chloe moving in and filling the house with her vibrant personality and fun energy, she’s soon winning over both Nico and his daughter. I loved the likeable and relatable Chloe and Niko and their chemistry sizzled off the page, leading to some steamy scenes! I loved the developing relationship between Chloe and Niko’s daughter. It was particularly nice to read a romance where the main character, Chloe is in her 40’s and slightly perimenopausal, as this made her a very realistic character, and one who I could relate to.

HOLY COW THIS BOOK IS AMAZING!!! I want to be a character in this book! I loved everything about it! Fantasy mixed with paranormal and suspense! The best part for me is that the group of amazing women in this are over 40!!! It’s so refreshing to read a book with women I can truly identify with, minus the magic! If you’re looking for a read that will keep you turning the page because you have to know what happens then this is it!!! I look forward to the next one in the series and following this group of friends as they navigate the darkness we can’t see and the darkness we can!
I am not sure how to feel about this book. The illustrations are beautiful, and the story is nice. Its about a girl who stands her ground when it comes to a bully and does her best to push forward, even when the odds are stacked against you. It also teaches you to be nice to a bully. Now- for the part that makes me iffy…. And this may be because of where I live… but the thought of a bunch of kids chasing around a piglet just irks me. It also talks about the injuries the kids get from chasing the kids, and even has an illustration of the little girl with a black eye from the piglet.

This is a great collection of the first two books in the London Detective Agency series. They are Mistaken Identity and Be My Baby
Mistaken Identity This was such a thrilling read that was action packed right from the start. The twists and turns in this story kept me hooked and the chemistry between out two main characters is recognisable from the beginning and sizzles throughout the book. This is also the first book in the London Detective Agency Series so I can’t wait to see what else the author has in store for us.
Evelyn was all set to embark on her new life and adventure but a accidental collision with another person and picking up the wrong bag has changed her plans and added a whole level of danger to her life. The problem is the woman she collided with and that she looks almost identical to is a lady on the run. As a witness for PI Patrick Miller against a crime family she decides to flee. However in doing so she has now placed Evelyn in harms way. When Patrick catches up to her the chemistry and attraction between them is instant but he knows has to protect her from the family who are looking to get rid of the witness against them. Together then now need to work together to bring this family to justice while making sure the Fitzgerald crime family don’t get to Evelyn.
This story is action packed and fast paced. I enjoyed how the romance between Patrick and Evelyn was slow burning in the background of this story which only made it better. The characters are both well written and likeable. Both are strong in their own way and I loved how Patrick was focused on getting justices, you get the feeling that even if there wasn’t chemistry between him and Evelyn he would still protect her with everything he had. I am really looking forward to reading more.
Be my baby This is the second book in the London Detective Series. After enjoying the first book I didn’t hesitate in picking this book up and I wasn’t disappointed. This is a romance suspense filled with drama, intrigue, danger, and investigation.
In this story we meet Tessa. She goes to the London Detective Agency for help when she starts to recieve letters and photographs. Knowing she has a potential stalker on her hands she enlists the aid of PI James Moore to get to the bottom of this. As they start to solve this case the chemistry between them also heats up.
However James has made it a rule of his that he doesnt date clients so what will that mean for the attraction between James and Tessa. And as they get closer together what will happen to Tessa’s stalker. The stalker is determined to have Tessa all to themselves so how will they react as the spark between Tessa and James grows. Will this lead them both into a dangerous situation with targets on their backs, or will they be able to stop the stalker in their tracks before they go too far.

A Safe Place is the sixth book in the Philly Heat Series and is a Romantic Suspense that will have you turning the pages till the end. There are plenty of twists and turns that had me on the edge of my seat trying to figure out what was going to happen next. There’s betrayal, tragedy, drama, suspense and so much more. I don’t want to give anything away so with that being said I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I’m looking forward to reading more from this Author.
