Such an amazing inspirational story about women empowerment. The main character development is inspiring to say the least. She shows that women in any stage of their life can go out and try or do new things. This is not my normal type of read but I am not disappointed. I recommend this read.

What a gem! Pun intended. This book is part of a series but it can most definitely be read as a stand-alone. If you are interested in the world of jewelry or gemstones, this is the book for you. The book was very knowledged and informative on the subject which I both loved and respected. I recommend this book.

There is teen angst, drama, action, oh and a test that picks your life mate for you! “Y” evolves so much in this book, I cannot wait to read on in this series and see just how great she becomes. This book is more of a short novella and I personally love it that way. Short, simple, sweet, and to the point, this book has just enough. Sarge is complex yet a simple man at the same time. While it is part of the Mission 3047 universe, this novella can definitely be read as a standalone. I recommend this read.

Hannah, a lawyer is being stalked by someone unknown. Her brother was murdered the year prior in what everyone thought was just a random crime. Noah aka Doyle is on sabbatical when he’s brought in to protect Hannah. Doyle and Hannah do end up falling in love with each other. When Doyle thinks they arrested the stalker, they are wrong. It’s someone Hannah works with. There is so much to eat up in the book, leaves you for twists and turns your not expecting. I have not ready any of the other books. But cliff hanger much?? I need more!! It was so well written!!

This book was so well written, I had a hard time putting it down. I adore the main characters, Roman and Olivia, their banter throughout the book had me losing it and they are both so relatable. Olivia deals with menopause like a boss. Roman is making an effort to make up for all of those times he wasn’t there for his daughter. One thing is for sure, the heat and chemistry from these two was on point! I highly recommend.

Wicked Games (Hidden Valley Elite #7)Wicked Games by Isla Vaughn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This series is becoming one of my favorites and thus author is becoming one that I will read anything she writes. This is the 7th book in the series and these books keep getting better and better. This is the first part of a duet in a series. So, make sure to read this one-first before you move onto the next book. This is also a book that you will want to read the rest in the series before this one, just so you have some background info about this amazing group. This book has everything you could dream of from angst, to steam, to intrigue. Since this is a duet story it does end in a cliff hanger and I normally detest cliffhangers but this one actually makes me want to read the next book, instead of being angry. I suggest that if you absolutely hate cliffhangers that you could wait for the second book to read it but you would be missing out on the start of an amazing story. The enemies to lover vibes that is given will have you turning pages faster than you can read them. The mystery into who did what will have you creating how things are going to go. This book has you wondering if they will figure things out. It also feels like everything is coming full circle with the series. It makes me sad that it is ending but happy that I get at least one more book.

Wicked Games (Hidden Valley Elite #7)Wicked Games by Isla Vaughn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I am LOVING this whole series!!! I can’t wait to read them all! If you haven’t read the others in this series I personally suggest that you do. You don’t NEED to, but trust me when I say you will WANT to. Not only does it give you so many great books to read!! But they also, all give you SO MANY insights into all the other characters and what leads up to this story. When they mention certain people or things you won’t know everything and you’ll miss some great bits!! Trust me just read them all! PLUS the prequels! Again, those are not NEEDED, but they give you some back story each time that I personally really enjoyed. I really hate and love that you are left on a cliffhanger with each book. I hate it because I have to wait for the next one, but I love it because it keeps you clutched into their series wanting more and more. The author, I’m sure, gets this all the time!! Wicked Games is about Winter and Shane. They went to school when they were younger. Before Winter’s life imploded and she moved away. Shane remembers her though and he can’t get past that she was so horrible to him. Now they’re at Thane University together. Shane comes up with a plan for revenge. Pretending to be someone named Landon, he starts to “date” Winter. Winter is at University to work through some things in her personal life. Memories in nightmares that she can’t seem to understand. Memories that she’s scared to even understand. Winter was warned to stay away from Shane, but she just can’t seem to stay away from him. He has this grip around her soul and she can’t place it or him! As they get to know each other and things heat up they both start to really enjoy each other. Unfortunately, things never work the way you plan. I won’t say more because I don’t want to spoil anything, but trust me!! Read this WHOLE series!!!!

Here we are at Shane and Winter’s story, this is one twisted tale. Shane hit a guy to protect a girl and he’s dead. Winter’s sister drowned and she’s accused of doing it. Lies, deceit, hidden secrets, stalker, and so much more, this author will have you buy the heck gripped in her story. She’ll have you right from the beginning so engaged that you won’t want to come up for air. I couldn’t put the story down. There is a cliffhanger!!! I’m eagerly awaiting book 2 of this set.

This book grabbed my attention and held it until the last page. The fourth book in this series and all of the books can be read as stand alones or in order. Hannah and Doyle do not necessarily like eachother mainly because of her occupation and him being a cop. When Doyle becomes her bodyguard to protect her from her crazy stalker, they have the opportunity to get to know eachother better, building a bond, and it drove her crazy stalker absolutely mad. This was a great book full of so many ups and downs, I loved it.

The Christmas Escape by Belinda Williams – Review by Jaimie Salmon-Colburn

The Christmas EscapeThe Christmas Escape by Belinda Williams
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

What do you do when you lose your job two weeks before Christmas, your about to lose your apartment because your roommate is moving in with her boyfriend, your best friend’s boyfriend cheats and leaves her with a non-refundable ticket, and you don’t want to deal with your family over the holidays because of it all? Well you grab that ticket from her to help her out, and you have a Christmas getaway!!!! Well, that is what Lizzie does anyway. Christmas away in Australia is just what the doctor ordered. She can go, get away, and forget all about Christmas. And avoid her family and their judgement and questions! Right? Well maybe not… She’s checking out the beach and soaking up the sun when she’s hit in the head with a football. And just like that the whole vacation is turned upside down. Getting a black eye at the beginning of her trip was not what she had in mind! Plans shift and she ends up thinking a holiday romance might be in her cards. But can she really have a holiday fling? Loads of people do it. But can she? Jaz is a single father and has loads of baggage. Although he seems sweet and wants to get to know Lizzie, she’s worried things won’t work out the way she had planned. Invited to his Christmas get together is the last thing she expected. What will happen with her non-Christmas vacation? And what about when she goes back to her life with no job and no place to stay? Moving back with you parents is humiliating! Lizzie has her own baggage to unpack. Maybe a fling isn’t a good idea after all…. I haven’t read many Christmas themed books, but I am so glad that I grabbed this one! It was so, so good!! I LOVE watching Christmas movies and this one I could TOTALLY see on the big screen!! You can laugh, you can cry, and you can yell at the characters when they’re being stupid! If you love holiday romances, witty banter, and just an overall cute Christmas story this one is for you!! I didn’t want to put it down and now I can’t wait to read more!!

Master SardiniaMaster Sardinia by Sylvia Black
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book is really well written. It is the 8th book in the series and I decided this was the one I was going to start with. You can just start like I did or you can read the whole series. I would highly suggest reading the whole series. I am personally going to go back and read them. I feel like I wouldn’t have been as lost as I was and would have a lot more background information with the characters in this story. However, I was able to pick up on things rather quickly and my lack of knowledge didn’t hinder this books plot at all. The way the main characters grow throughout the story and the steam that they give off is amazing. It is a quick read as I couldn’t put it down. This book has everything from steam, too romance, too crazy vampires. I was highly entertained and found myself a little disappointed when the book ended. I then remembered that I get to read the other 7 books in the series. That made me happy. If you are one that like vampires and steam and mystery, this series seems to have all of that and more. You won’t be disappointed when you pick this book up to read it. Again, I would probably read the first books in the series because I feel like I would have enjoyed the book more had I had more information but it didn’t deter from the story.

The Mating Call (Long Claw Pride #1)The Mating Call by Brooke May
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book is a great way to start a series. Shifter romances are not my normal go to for reading. I was not disappointed with this book. The author does an amazing job describing details of the MCs and the settings that you actually feel like you are there as a fly on the wall. All of that being said, this book explores the shifter world of a mountain lion, which I have never heard of before. I probably shouldn’t have been surprised as anything can be a shifter. That is was intrigued me with this book. It was my hook into it. Once I started reading, I was not able to put it down. I kept turning page after page to see what was going to happen or how something was going to end up. It was a very fast paced read and kept me entertained the whole time. I highly suggest reading this series. If you aren’t into the shifter genre, this book is still worth it. If you haven’t dabbled in this genre before, this is a great series to start with.

This book does not disappoint. I was intrigued with the blurb about this book. The haze that could surround the MCs of this story if they don’t take the mating mark right away. This is something that I haven’t read about in other shifter books. It is something that I can come into this series and consider a new take on the shifter genre. That said this book was excellently written and very descriptive. I was able to picture everything in my mind like a picture. There are some twists and turns that I didn’t see coming. It definitely kept me turning pages to see what was going to happen and where everything was heading in the story. The romance in this book is spit on for the story. It isn’t too much and not too little. I feel like this book was really thought out. It is part of a series and I would highly recommend reading them all. I was bot disappointed at all while reading this book and I intend on reading the rest of the series. This is a fast paced book and will keep you turning pages. It will allow you to loose yourself for a few hours while reading it. I always feel that a great book will make you loose track of time and this book did that and then some.

Sins of the Father (The McIntire County Series Book 3) by Winter Austin – Review by Kirsten Berkebile

This is book three in the McIntire County Series. Jolie Murdoch is the newest deputy in McIntire County. Her first job is to find a missing girl. While looking for the girl, Deputy Murdoch finds herself in front the suspect (the father of the missing child). The problem is that he is dead but he is not alone. There enters Xavier, a former marine who has a TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury), finds himself in some unwanted attention for the death of the missing girl’s father. However, he doesn’t remember any thing that happened before, during or after because he blacked out. It’s a lot of twist and turns in this one, but Winter Austin really has a knack for bringing all the twists and turns into an amazing story. I would like to point out, that I am reading these book out of order, I don’t recommend that you do. I should have started with book one and worked my way down but I will finish this series.

Sheriff Shane Hamilton is not very thrilled with an FBI agent in his county. Little did Shane know that this Liza would be the opening he needed in his personal life as well as his professional life.  Love, anger, resentment and a little sass is throughout the story. I could not put this book down!!!!! I literally read it from Sun Up to Sun Down. It had me on my seat the entire time. There are dead bodies, fires, and a some drama from the police department. I promise you that this book is one of the many that you will not be able to put down.

This book drew me in with the blurb that the author wrote about it. I want to tell you, that I was not disappointed. The MC’s are amazingly well written and you can actually visualize everything that the author describes as the settings in the book. The situations that the characters find themselves in are not typical but make complete sense in the book. You know how sometimes things happen and you just can’t imagine it any other way. That is this book. The series of events in the plot are amazing and once you read it, you realize that yep that needed to happen. The character growth is great and that is normally what really draws me into a book but this book it was the plot itself that kept me turning the pages. It is a really good read that had me flipping pages as quickly as I could because I was so engrossed in the storyline. I am actually having a hard time writing this review because I want to spill all the beans about the story but I don’t want to give anything away. That is how you now this book is really, really good. There are many twists and turns. Just when you thin you have everything figured out, boom, n something happens and all y0ur thoughts are gone. It allows you to get comfortable with the characters but will have you knowing that at any page turn something crazy could happen.
