Madeline and Mike keep you in the action, on the edge of your seat, and guessing how things are going to turn out. In this episode in the series, Madeline is retained for a missing person’s case and a suspicious identity case. Slowly as Maddie and Mike start to put the pieces together, they realize they are linked. Things get even muddier when a second missing person’s case is dropped in their lap and becomes linked to the two cases.

As Madeline and Mike get closer to the perpetrators, how the three cases are linked becomes clearer. With two found persons and a dramatic ending the cases come to a conclusion.

The action will keep you clinging to the corner of your couch cushion. Take the time for this thriller. It is worth the nail biting!

So Madeline gets reunited with her former bestfriend because Jane needs help. It was easy to follow along considering I haven’t read any of the previous books. Though I do plan on reading all of them. Especially to see if there as good as this. Money seems to be the problems in all her cases guess the saying money is the root of all evil is correct.

Other People’s Money
By Cynthia Hamilton

Cynthia Hamilton is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. Her books always feature wonderful characters and fast paced plot featuring plenty of suspense. This story is definitely not an exception.
Madeline, Mike and the rest of the team receive another complicated set of cases. In the first, they must determine where some money has gone from a friend’s company. In another, a worried family seeks to find information regarding their father’s fiance. However, the team gets very confused when nothing is what it seems and the cases begin to cross into one another.
If you love a good mystery with well developed characters and many plot twists this is definitely the book for you!

Madeline Dawkins the PI is back and she has some new cases to investigate, hot on the tail of her last case, two more fall into her lap and they both happen to be old friends of Madeline’s, as she brings her team up to date on the details of the first case, she outlines that it is money related, a trusted bookkeeper has disappeared after calling in sick at work, nobody has heard from her since, however, it has been found that a serious amount of money has also disappeared along with her. In the second case, a friends widowed father is embarking on nuptials with a much younger woman who he met while working on a project and a whirlwind romance has taken everyone by surprise and his son is worried that he may be being blinded by rose tinted glasses.

Madeline is both intrigued and worried by both these cases, especially when she and her team start to dog deeper into the fact surrounding them both, but as they do this digging, more questions than answers appear, especially when some facts are coincidentally very similar to other cases they have been involved in. As for the background check on the fiancée it turns out that she is not all she says she is and nothing is as it appears on the surface, but as their options run out on her true intentions and identity, it appears time may be running out.

In the investigation, it all seems to boil down to money and the trails it leaves behind, but can the team find the missing bookkeeper and retrieve the money which has been stolen, or will they end up with a less than satisfactory ending? Can Madeline find any information about this mystery woman with apparently no background at all before a widower is taken advantage of and his life thrown into disarray again? This is yet another fast paced thriller where a team of private investigators hunt down the answers to multiple mysteries, all while trying to stay out of danger and the implications of chasing financial trails, as you follow along these trails to their final turn.

This is the 7th book in the series, but this is the first I’ve read. This can be read as a standalone, however I will be going back to read from the beginning for character backgrounds to better understand them.
I found the author’s writing style easy to follow, which was great as the plot has a number of cases ongoing at once. Firstly I’m impressed by the author’s ability to have multiple on going cases at once and being able to communicate these in a clear way, even when they appear to link. The tension was built in the right places at the right time which kept me reading ‘just one more chapter’.
There are plenty of twists to keep you guessing and I like that there is a feeling that you are investigating these cases alongside the PI characters Madeline and Mike.
My only (very minor) issue is that there were times that things could get a little repetitive in relaying information but this is small price for such an enjoyable read.
I look forward to reading the rest of the series.

This series is brilliantly written with great characters and intense storyline. Book seven sees Madeline and her sleuthing crew following a trail of money that leads them through twists and turns until the very end. So much tension, suspense, secrets and complexities makes this a page-turner. Highly recommend the whole series.

It has been quite a while since I have read a mystery and I’ve got to say I am so glad I read this one! I am new to this wonderful, creative authors writing and this particular series but I can honestly say it wont be my last. If anything I am a little sad I didn’t start from the very beginning of the series however I will definitely be going back to the beginning of the series and reading more. I am sure you will be hooked from start to finish just like I was. With so much happening and so many secrets and lies to untangle you will be turning page after page as quickly as you can in order to get answers just like I was.

Other People's Money (The Madeline Dawkins Series Book 7)Other People’s Money by Cynthia Hamilton
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Other People’s Money is Book Seven in the Madeline Dawkins Series. Madeline and her team have taken on several new cases. Jane, a friend from Madeline’s past, asks for her help to figure out who is embezzling money from her husband’s company. As Madeline and her team begin to investigate the first case, a second one pops up when a woman goes missing. The third case involves a wealthy man and a gold digger. The man’s son asks for Madeline’s help to uncover the truth about the woman and save his dad from her greedy clutches. As Madeline and her team start to investigate, they end up with more questions than answers and discover that the cases are somehow intertwined. Madeline and her team seem to be hitting roadblocks in their investigations of each case.

This was a fantastic book with a great storyline. One seemingly straightforward case leads Madeline and her team to other cases. Each case seems to be wrapped up somehow with the other cases as Madeline and her team follow the trail of other people’s money. The team works great together as they follow the trail of clues and even though they hit a few roadblocks along the way it does not deter them from being relentless in solving each case. Madeline feels overwhelmed by tackling so many cases at once, but it does not deter her from doing what she needs to do in order to solve the cases. She is tough, smart, and determined. This book has embezzlement, a missing bookkeeper, a clever gold digger, elaborate cons and scams, manipulation, secrets, tension, drama, suspense, mystery, and a few twists and turns.

This book is the 7th in this incredible crime/mystery. The loveable characters, Maddie and Mike are back and ready to dive into another round of crazy cases. As PI’s they find their workload a bit overwhelming with the incoming volume of new cases, but the main focus is for a missing bookkeeper. This book follows the cute married couple through their adventure into mysteries, claims of embezzlement, strange disappearances and more.

As usual this author provides a lot of twists and turns. You will thoroughly enjoy reading due to the easy flow of the plot. Also you may find that the ending was not as you thought it would be.

Overall it was a wonderful read and a great addition to this series!

Madeline is off on another case when an old friend asks her and her team to help solve some missing monies within her husband’s company. So while the team investigates the missing bookkeeper, the case gets more and more stranger.

As Madeline runs into another case from a child who are worried regarding their father’s younger fiancée and wonder if she is all cracked up to be, but as her team delves into the case they are struggling to find any information on her, but strangely things are starting to cross over in all the cases and, Madeline is left wondering what is going on. Can she solve were the missing bookkeeper is, tackle the gold digger fiancée and understand how everything seems to lead back to single point.

I love this series and as this is the seventh book in the series, all the books can be read as stand alone stories, the author is really good at filling you in on some of the history of the main characters and you go, but if you have enjoyed this book I recommend you read the others as you will not be disappointed.

I love the way that Madeline, Mike and the team work together to solve the mysteries and that you feel like you become a Honorary member of the group. The story flows brilliant through the clues and conversations which you devour with enthusiasm and can’t wait to carry on to see the outcome.

Please keep writing more as I think I am totally addicted to them now and would miss to be part of the group. Thank you.

This is book 7 in the Madeline Dawkins series and I can’t believe these books keep getting better every time. These books can be read as a standalone, however I do recommend reading them in order so you get the backstory of the main character Madeline and wow what a story it is.

In this book we are with Madeline and Mike that their PI Agency as they are handed new cases. Both cases are from people Madeline used to know before the scandal of her ex husband.
There is a case of embezzlement, a missing bookkeeper, a possible gold digger and more secrets and lies then you could ever imagine. The question is are these 2 seeming unrelated cases connected in any way? And if they are does this mean Madeline and Mike are about to uncover something so big neither of them could have anticipated how far it reaches?
This story is fast paced, full of twists and turns and what I love is just when you think you have it all figured out the author sends up for another loop and makes you question everything you think you know. I love feeling like i am part of these investigations solving the clues along with Madeline and her team.
Another amazing read. I can’t wait for more.

This was a good 4 star read. The series continues with more cases for Madelines team. It felt like I was reading several stories at once with all the clues and things they would discover. You’re on the edge of your seat waiting to see if they can solve all of the cases. We get adventure, mystery, suspense and so much more. Will they solve the cases before its too late? Overall this was a good read, I was pulled in right from the beginning. All of the characters added a great element to the story. The author does a great job of pulling you in with her writing. This is part of a series but can be read as a stand alone. If you’re looking for a thrilling read that has you guessing throughout the book. 1-dlick and get started today. Maddie and Mike, a married Private Investigative team, are hired to investigate three separate cases. Funds are missing, people have vanished, and Daphne is marrying a man thirty years older than she is. Full of suspense, secrets, and surprises these three cases intertwine and provide a shocking ending.

Other People’s Money is the seventh installment of the Madeline Dawkin’s Mystery Series. Although part of a series, this installment can easily be read as a standalone. This one was a binge reader for me. I could not put it down. Just when I thought I had it all figured out, Hamilton threw in another wrench causing another twist and turn. The characters within this novel were very well written; lovable and relatable in so many ways. The plot was well developed and believable. This was my first introduction to Cynthia Hamilton. After reading Other People’s Money I will not hesitate to pick up another book written by this author.

This was my first book by Cynthia Hamilton and it absolutely won’t be my last. This was a fantastic read that drew me in from page one. It read so vividly it was like watching a movie or TV show. I typically imagine what I read while reading and sometimes my mind is filling in the blanks, but for this read Hamilton had everything covered the detail and the characters were fabulous.
I must say I was a bit hesitant to read this since it was book 7 in the series, but it certainly could be read as a stand alone. Although I will be going back reading 1-6 and then re-reading this one.
Three cases in one book wasn’t something I thought I would be up for and thought it would be too much to follow along, but Hamilton’s writing made the reading very smooth. I read it in one sitting.
A must read for any crime/mystery lover.

I’m a big fan of this series of mystery crime thrillers and so was excited to be back alongside main character, the likeable and relatable PI Madeline Dawkins. In this storyline Madeline is asked by two old friends to help them with delicate and personal matters that could have lasting consequences, involving embezzlement and gold digging. In one case Madeline and her team at MDPI have to search for a missing bookkeeper after her employer is being blamed for missing funds. The team are also asked to do a background check on the much younger fiancé of one of her old friends widowed father. Madeline soon discovers that the women is definitely not who she’s claiming to be, but then has to find out who she is. The longer the investigations go on, surprising connections begin to appear, leaving both Madeline and the reader following the trail of other people’s money. Another fast paced, gripping story with plenty of suspense and plot twists that leave you turning the pages quickly to find out what will happen next! An enjoyable and engaging read, and I look forward to book eight!

This is a great mystery read. This book features a private detective agency run by a husband-and-wife team. Three seemingly unrelated cases merge together in an explosive conclusion. I really enjoyed the characters of the private detectives, especially as they sought ways to let people have control and even dignity throughout the revelation of some pretty tough truths to handle. I wish that we as humankind in general sought ways to preserve the dignity of others.

Other People’s Money (The Madeline Dawkins Series Book 7) by Cynthia Hamilton. I love this series so much I don’t want it to end. Each book is so good and each one I read is my new favorite. These can be read as standalone’s but I recommend reading them in order to get the most out of them. In this book we find Madeline taking on 3 very time sensitive cases at the same time. These 3 cases are all intertwined with one another but they aren’t aware of that at the time. In one case Jane, Madeline’s best friend asks her for help because her husband has been accused of embezzlement. In another someone has come up missing and in the third a older gentleman has become entwined with a woman that his family and friends believe to be a gold digger. Of course anytime Madeline is involved things go awry and her husband has to always help her out. Missing people, money and a gold digger all in one book. What more could you ask for.

Other People’s Money was the first book I have read by this author. It is the 7th book in the Madeline Dawkins series, however can be enjoyed as a stand alone. There is references to the past, but with enough detail that I didn’t feel like I was missing important details. It was a pretty good mystery, that did not reveal all until the very end. The characters are well developed and the story was a steady pace. Madeline and Mike are married and private investigators. They are debating expansion, after a busy period, when they are landed with 3 cases at once. They have 2 missing women, and a possible gold digger after a friend’s widowed father. I liked how the cases wound together, but I didn’t like the ending. It was not what I expected, and I felt it wrapped up suddenly. Over all, it was a decent book that kept me engaged, and I would read more in the series.

I read several of The Madeline Dawkins Series a couple of years ago. Through the books, Madeline’s character grew from a trophy wife to a private investigator. This all came about due to Madeline’s ex-husband embezzling money through a Ponzi scheme.

Since starting the private investigation business with her friend and now husband Mike, they have proved themselves to be good investigators that complete jobs and also assists the police. In this book, Madeline and Mike are working on solving three different cases that bring them work but stress too.

I really missed reading the series. I love Madeline and Mike’s personalities and how they work together. The author does a wonderful job of creating the atmosphere and locations the PI business takes them to. I look forward to catching up on reading the books in this series that I missed.

Other People’s Money is the seventh book in The Madeline Dawkins series by Cynthia Hamilton. Oh boy- Madeline and crew have their work cut out for them solving this slew of new cases. From embezzlement to unearthing a Gold Digger, every clue they uncover leads to more questions, complications, tangled web of secrets, manipulation, scams and cons, in the grab for other people’s money. But nothing is as it appears to be and the team seem to hit block after block- so will they ever manage to uncover the truth and finally close their cases- or will this be the time that Madeline and team get outplayed by the bad guys? Add in some tension, adventure, drama, mystery, suspense, doubts, and interconnected details- and things take quite an intriguing turn.
This book could be read as a standalone- but I highly recommend reading the previous books before starting on this one, as even though each book is a self-contained mystery/adventure, and each delivers its own fantastic read- all combined, they help to build detail, character information and development, and impart other important and intriguing information that creates a bigger picture, which, in turn, will enhance your overall reading experience. So, trust me, it is definitely worth starting this series at the beginning!
Cynthia Hamilton is one of my favourite authors, and Madeline Dawkins is one of my ‘must read- no questions asked’ series that I have loved since devouring book one. I doubt if I will ever tire of her adventures, so I hope there are many more to come.
Looking forward to diving into Breach of Trust (Book #8)!

Other People’s Money is the seventh book in the Madeline Dawkins series. This can be read as a standalone book but is much more enjoyed if read after the preceding books in the series. Madeline is on the case again with her husband, Mike, and associate Samir. What starts as one case quickly grows to three in this book. Are the cases related, or do they have a common thread of “Other People’s Money”? I always enjoy the build-up of suspense in this author’s books, and this one didn’t disappoint. Madeline and her team work well together and always figure out the case, but I enjoy the journey. The cases in this book were intriguing and kept me questioning who was at the bottom of everything. I look forward to grabbing the next book in the series soon.

Mike and Madeline Dawkins are faced with a new case to solve. As they begin to investigate the case of the missing bookkeeper who’s also embezzled money, other cases start to land in their laps too. Jane is concerned for the business she and her husband run when their bookkeeper and tenant has disappeared over the weekend. She was last seen with a man driving a black Range Rover.

George and Daphne are ready to go get hitched but George’s son has an inkling that Daphne may not be on the up and up. She is, after all, thirty years younger than George. Mike and Madeline are hired, along with their team, to investigate who Daphne really is and try to prevent this union from taking place.

Stacey has insider information when her company is about to go public and she begins shorting her shares of the company. Then she disappears. It seems she may have more than one love interest so could one of them be the culprit?

With all these cases going on at once, Mike approaches Madeline to see if they might want to employ more help in their PI business. As if Madeline needed anyone stress in her life…or could this be a help to them?

This is book 7 in a series that is new to me. I have not read the previous six books but I thoroughly enjoyed this one enough that I will be seeking out the previous books. I felt like this was able to be read as a standalone even though this is part of a series. I enjoyed the writing style of Cynthia Hamilton and how she weaved together multiple cases and tied them all up in the end with a bit of a twist. Several times I thought I had figured out the case but I was wrong!
