The first in the series, this book added mystery, intrigue, and danger to the mix. The characters were great. My only complaint was more of a personal thing where I think I’ve gotten used to multiple pov books including who’s pov were reading in the chapter title. Other than that this was a hard to put down book with great detail In setting the scene. Excited to read more from the series!

Watcher and messenger two beings from opposite sides that are always supposed to be enemies. The two are forced apart and their bond is put to the test and when one thinks the other is dead all bets are off.
This book continues to bring the reader into the imaginative world of the paranormal. No matter what side they are on Jace and Cyrus are good together. The two work hard to find their way and they will fight to keep their love. Emotions are strong in this book and it will pull on your heart. Their story is fast paced and there is a lot going on. I enjoyed seeing the two stand up and fight for what they want. The love between the two shines through in everything that they do. Both of these characters endeared themselves to this reader and I was quickly pulled into their story. This is an interesting take on the story of Romeo and Juliet. The author has created an engaging world with interesting characters and I am eager to see what will happen next.
Make sure you read book one!!! We come back to our leading men, Jace and Cyrus. And the world’s are in turmoil. You have to like retellings to truly enjoy this. This conclusion didn’t disappoint and I am looking forward to getting more from this author! I am always a sucker for a retelling!
After reading the first book in this series, it leaves the reader hanging on what will happen with Jace and Cyrus’ relationship after Jace is exiled. Well as this book starts, Cyrus is on a mission to find Jace wherever he can think of in Las Vegas. He ends up finding something quite unexpected and gets attacked. Luckily a caretaker comes to Cyrus’ aid during his time. Word travels fast and Jace ends up hearing that Cyrus is dead. The unfortunate thing he comes back to is discover a more devious plan involving them. I very much enjoy the paranormal elements of this story interwoven with the R&J retelling background. If you enjoyed the first book, you will definitely enjoy this one as well!

Very creative twist on a Romeo and Juliet retelling. This is a MM romance and the 2nd (and final) book in the duology. Definitely read the 1st book before reading this one so you will understand what’s going on with Jace and Cyrus and everything they have to contend with. This book is filled with angels and demons and everything in between. Morrow has fantastic world building and I love the way they continue to develop the characters and plot line. Would highly recommend if MM, steamy romance, and great retellings are your thing!
This book is action packed and pretty sexy. It continues from Book 1, Watcher, so it is best to read that one first. However, I did not and still really enjoyed Jace and Cyrus’ conclusion! I can’t wait to go back and read book 1! And I am hoping there are more books that follow the other characters in this story, especially Hesper and those at the Ranch!
I liked this author’s writing style. It was easy to follow along in this fantasy-human world. There are several character types, Demons, Watchers, Messengers, and Humans. Being that this is the first book I have read in this series there may be more!
The romance in this story is MM. And definitely NSFW or young readers or those with sensitive reading styles. While it claims to be a Romeo and Juliet style star crossed love, I didn’t particularly sense that in this book, maybe if I had read book 1 first I would see that aspect more. Still really enjoyed this story.
Messenger is an incredible sequel, and it does not disappoint! I highly recommend reading Watcher, the first book in the series, just so you can get all of the wonderful backstory and learn about the characters. I think there would be some confusion if you skipped straight to the second book. The story of Jace and Cyrus is one full of paranormal romance, tension, and vengeance. You can feel the chemistry, love, heartbreak, and a full range of emotions as you learn more and more about them. Even as the odds stack against them, you never know what is going to happen. It is definitely a different twist on Romeo and Juliet, but this is one of my favorites so far! Will either of them get what they want or is it a fool’s errand? I definitely think you’ll enjoy this book if you like MM stories of the paranormal romance genre.
Book 2 of the Star-Crossed Celestials Duet and this definitely did not disappoint. I recommend reading book 1 first to know the beginning of Jace and Cyrus……and I just love them.
Forbidden love…Jace and Cyrus are separated…their future is uncertain. When Jace is accused he is totally exiled from the celestial community….meanwhile Cyrus tries to find Jace but trouble comes to Cyrus and he is left for dead. Jace is out coming for revenge….but will it be to late or will Jace and Cyrus be able to be together……
If you love MM Fantasy Romance with danger and action I highly recommend this series. Truly fantastic story!
This one is the first book by Reggi Depree that I have read. I’m glad I picked this book up because it was hard to put down. I was born in Texas so I could relate to this one. The characters were easy to relate to and easy to follow. Gwen is smart, funny, and fearless most of the time. I can’t wait to get the next book.

I love this interesting take on Romeo and Juliet with this MM Romance….and as I started the pages I love that the author provided a “cast” to get to know whom each character represents. Watchers, demons, messengers and danger….I really loved this story.
War is stirring…watchers and demons vs the messengers but what happens with Jace whom is a watcher and Cyrus who is a messenger….sparks and sizzle but love is forbidden. Will Jace and Cyrus be able to overcome the danger that comes their way and their feelings for each other no waiver?
I highly recommend this book..this is a great fantasy and the story line is top notch. I am looking forward to diving into book 2 to see what happens next!!
Well what can I say but I was really drawn to this book as I like supernatural books and this one hit the spot. The author has a very unique world that she has created. I just could not put this book down. I like how there is a lot of action and drama. The characters have a very unique chemistry and that is an added bonus. I also like how the plot was original and compelling. I really was on the edge of my seat to see what would happen and I am very excited to read more of this series. I really enjoyed this and am happy to have found another great author to add to my list.

Adventurous, creative, quirky Return to Hoodoo is a paranormal mystery that is engaging, quirky and full of crazy fun. This is a well written ghostly adventure that has witches, vampires, demons, magic and even a haunted house. I love the maturity of Gwen and her confidence. There is a cliffy so I will be keeping an eye out for the next book so I can go back to the antics of Azure House. Recommend.

This novel is well written. I have not read Romeo and Juliet (I know, leave me alone), but this love story is skillfully written and it is LGBTQ+ friendly. The storyline is similar to Romeo and Juliet, but the celestial twist kept me fully engaged. Each time I have attempted to read the true Shakespeare novel I have DNF’d it. This book I was not able to put down.
I did not read the first book of this series, but it is easy enough to put the pieces together if you start with this novel. I of course plan on going back and reading the first after finishing this one. The book was so good and I love the writing style of this author.
The characters and plot are well thought out. I enjoyed both Jace and Cyrus. I also enjoyed that there was more plot than erotica. These scenes were limited and the first one I came across was more than halfway through the book. I prefer more plot than erotica. It was very enjoyable and I highly recommend!

This is the first book I have read in this series and although I pick up the story it may have helped if I had read the first book The Watcher which may have given a bit more context to some of the angst between the characters. Although saying that I thoroughly enjoyed the unique twist on Romeo and Juliet and being set in a world of Angels and Demons.
I have to say the interaction between Jace and Cyrus was sweet, and the chemistry slowly built as the characters for most of the book were tackling their own dark demons so to speak. The secondary characters were a great addition to the story, and I loved the sassy nature and character of Jace’s sister Caz and would like to see how her relationship moves forward.
This is not my normal genre and picked the book up as it looked an interesting twist on a classic story. The Story was well written and flowed through at a great pace. I would like to read more for this author going forward.

Esprit De Corpse is a well written Historical Steampunk that I enjoyed reading. I had a hard putting it down. This is a new author to me and is their debut novel. I’m definitely looking forward to reading more from this Author in the future. This authors style of writing had my imagination going wild trying to picture everything along the way. Their characters are simply wonderful and relatable plus they had me feeling like I was apart of the story. Get ready to be taken back to mid 1800 in France as Angel and Jacquie take us on a journey as they try to solve the issues of ending an engineered war. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I can’t wait to see what this author brings us next.

This is the first book in this series and the only one that I have read, I didn’t manage to get my hands on the prequel yet, but I didn’t feel like it was missing anything other than the big elephant in the room concerning the ‘murder’ maybe back to how it all started. I enjoyed this book, the sass throughout, funny sarcasm, and the diverse characters made this a wonderful book. I’m definitely interested in reading more about the town of Hoodoo, not to mention it’s super quirky town, and citizens!

This is an amazing and hilarious book! If you love supernatural, paranormal, romance with a dash of southern, this is the book for you!
I enjoyed this book so much! All of the characters are absolutely delightful, they have snark, they are hilarious, they will keep you on your toes. The dialogue was EVERYTHING! The story was suspenseful enough to keep your interest while also keeping it fast paced and lighthearted.
My favorite part of this story is that Gwen, is midlife. So we get to see her past, present and future, as well as how some of those choices impacted others. She has more depth, experience, and balance than her younger self, as we all do when we get other. It was very relatable and refreshing.

Reign is a wolf, the brothers 9 are Lycans, and James is an angel of sorts, and then we have the wizard that is very powerful.
The above are a powerful group trying to keep evil from taking over Italy.The Lich is trying everything in his power to take down the group of immortals by any means possible. The use of mythology captured my interest and kept wondering how the immortal group was going to defeat Lich.
The author has an easy flow of writing and gets you interested in the story right away.

I wish there was more in depth information on the haunted house, I.e. the hidden passages etc. I understand why they are left out but I miss them all the same. This book is so captivating I was able to read it in about 10 hours. I loved this book and all the magic and different takes on all things otherworldly. The title drew me to this one and upon reading the blurb, I knew this was the book for me. This is the first book in the series and contains plenty of supernaturals, magic and mystery. Since reading I’ve learnt that there is a prequel so I’m disappointed that I didn’t get the full background, but that’s my own fault for not checking. The author does provide enough information to understand the characters and events for me not to had realised until after. But with how much I enjoy this book, I’ll be reading the novella next!
I was hooked reading this, it’s amusing and engaging, and the characters are great. The descriptive writing flows well, creating vivid imagery, making it easier to consume and made the book far more enjoyable. Not only was the scenery/setting written well, but the characters were also brilliant.
Gwen was so lovable. She’s been through so much and still holding it together as she makes her way through all the danger and relationships. She’s sassy (which I love) and relatable, but her approach to what she faces as she fights through the hardships is admirable and that’s what I love about her most.
I cannot wait to read more from this series, I’m impatient for the next book and I haven’t even gone back to read the prequel yet!

This is the second book in the series and I would highly recommend reading them in order. This was a great follow up to the first book and it took no time to re-connect with Jace and Cyrus. They were just as strong characters in this book as the first and I loved watching their development progress even further as the story went on. The story was a great follow on. It was more emotional than I expected it would be but I think that added to it. I really enjoyed reading this story and I am looking forward to seeing what else this author has in store.
Gwen has just returned to her hometown of Hoodoo to collect on an inheritance. Her plan is to only remain long enough to sign papers and leave again. For Gwen, Hoodoo holds nothing, but painful memories and she just wants to put the past behind her and leave town as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, things do not go as she had planned when she discovers that there are strings attached to collecting on the inheritance that require her remaining longer than intended. As if that is not enough to deal with, Gwen witnesses a murder and because of her past and subsequent reputation around town she becomes the prime suspect.
I absolutely loved this book and the author’s writing style which really drew me into the story. Not only were the scenes vividly described but the dialogue was brilliant and cracked me up more than once. The characters were ones that I was drawn to, especially Gwen. She was down-to-earth, unstoppable, funny, witty, real, raw, and did not take nonsense from anyone. Gwen is someone that I could easily find myself wanting to hang out with. The town of Hoodoo fascinated me with the fact that it was full of ghosts, vampires, werewolves, and witches. I want to take a trip there to explore the supernatural, starting with the house Gwen inherited. Absolutely amazing book and brilliant writing!

This book is classified as Paranormal Women’s Fiction, which is an amazing genre that you should definitely check out if you haven’t already.
I am in love with Reggi Dupree’s fast-paced, no-nonsense, creative writing style. Her style along with her satirical character’s personalities and clever dialogue remind me a lot of my favorite author, Daryanda Jones.
The main character, Gwen Carter, is a middle-aged woman of color who is as real as they come and truly a breath of fresh air. Due to unforeseen circumstances, Gwen must return to her hometown that she fled from years earlier. Hoodoo, her hometown, makes her feel abnormal in a town full of odd balls. It’s here that Gwen questions what she is? Who can she trust? How does she deal with the prejudices people believe about her past? She, along with a wonderful cast of diverse secondary characters, search for these answers and more. I can’t wait for the rest of this series, and honestly I plan on reading anything Reggi Dupree writes as she’s an amazing lyrical wizard.

I cannot explain the fullness I felt after reading Reggi Dupree’s Return to Hoodoo. She ticked off every box and exceeded every expectation I had for this book. Her characters are well-developed, multidimensional, and just full of life and her plot line is the same. I cannot wait for the next installment to see where Dupree takes Gwen and everyone else. This is the first book in the Boudin, Bourbon, and Barbecue series. This looks like it is going to be a fun series to read. It is full of adventure, mystery, danger, supernatural beings and magic. I really enjoyed this story, I loved Gwen’s character. She is very strong and sassy and after everything she has been through you can understand why she is the way she is. The only downside for me was that I didn’t realise there was a prequel before this story which would have explained the backstory to Gwen, however i will be going back to read this book and the prequel again before book 2. This story is definately a page turner with secrets being revealed and danger along the way. Gwens world is very entertaining with a strange family and all the other creatures only normally found in stories she has a lot to navigate. This story leaves you wanting more and I cant wait for the next book.

I personally would highly recommend reading these books in order, so you get the true feel for the story and the character arcs within them. This particular story is a MM twist on Romeo and Juliet. It is filled with the forbidden romance we know well, the parts that hit me were the emotions and inner torment for the characters.
