Dark romance? Sign me up! I love a good dark romance! So I started reading this and after the first chapter I’m like “where’s the romance???” And this is way beyond dark…evil, gruesome, bloody, and I’m not sure what I’m reading! BUT – I keep reading and then I can’t STOP reading! I’m not sure what it says about me but I became totally invested in these characters!
My mother always told me I was attracted to guys who I thought needed to be fixed. I always see the good in people even when there isn’t any there. That is this book in a nutshell. I want to see the good…but there isn’t any there! Even if you think someone is good, they’re probably not!
There are so many twists and turns in this story and you’ll never see them coming! Trust me, you won’t be able to put this down and you’ll be left wanting more as soon as you finish the last page. But do prepare yourself to be swallowed up in the darkness that is Breaker Beneventi and 327 along with all the others you will meet between these pages!

Brutal & Raw: Mafia Romance & Psychological Thriller (Beneventi Family Book 1) by Sonya Jesus. Wow what a story!!! Honestly wow doesn’t even come close to how incredible this book was but it’s all I can think. I knew I was in for quite the story but this book blew me away with its twists and turns. I found myself ignoring real life to sink into this book, I simply couldn’t put it down until the last page and I was sad when I reached it because this story is so good! The characters are complex and unique I loved reading their story. I was completely hooked from start to finish. It’s dark and Everything I was wanting. It’s well written and paced nicely never feeling rushed or lacking anything. If you’re looking for an edge of your seat ride take this book for a spin. Five stars all the way and highly recommended!

Wow, I was literally hooked from page one until I turned the last page of this psychological mafia romance thriller. This was a fast paced attention grabbing book by Sonya Jesus which I could not put down. The story centres around the Beneventi Family, a dark, powerful and dangerous mafia family. We are introduced to a female known only as 327, “327. That’s what he called me. That’s all I was to him”. Breaker Beneventi a handsome, powerful but extremely dangerous man with a dark side and a damaged soul takes a liking to 327 and tells her his secrets, secrets which could bring down his whole organisation if she ever gets free of him. Having ordered her death she is let go. However 327, knows this is just another twisted way of Breaker trying to control her with fear, knowing that he will be sending the ‘Butcher’ after her. Breaker searches everywhere for the, on the run Lyla Vaughn, but is that who she really is? No spoilers, you just have to read this book.
This is more a suspenseful psychological thriller than a romance, any romance there is has an underlying dark essence. The book is packed full of great characters, even if you don’t and can’t like them, such as the main alpha character, Breaker. It has an action packed storyline which had me holding my breathe in anticipation in parts and it is full of plot twists which keep you guessing so it’s definitely not a predictable read. Jesus is so detailed in her writing that the dark, twisted and dangerous world of the Beneventi family and the mafia as a whole is bought to life. “Breaker’s world is not light-hearted”, and I would say this book is not for the faint hearted either.
A great read which will have you up reading all night, I recommend it and I am looking forward to further books in the Beneventi Family series.

This was a dark and thrilling book that had me wondering what was going to happen next. Sonya was a new author for me, but I fell in love with her writing and her mind instantly. The two main characters were so strongly created I slipped into my favorite part of reading and became part of the story! I don’t want anyone to think this will be an “easy” read. It was emotional and the situations that our characters are put through are horrible. This isn’t your typical mafia romance story at all. With every twist and turn of this book I was held captive! It took me one day to read this. I will absolutely read the next book and will read everything by Sonya Jesus.

Brutal & Raw is Book 1 in the Beneventi Series by Sonya Jesus. Jesus is a new author to me and if this book is anything to go by then I’m sure this series is going to be outstanding. I absolutely loved this book. I was instantly gripped from the very beginning and was not let go until the story ended. Even then, I think I was still enmeshed in this fantastically woven tale. Lyla Vaughn has escaped from the clutches of mafia boos Breaker Beneventi and has no intention of ever being captured by him. So why does he still control all her thoughts? And why can’t she forget how good he made her feel at times? Breaker Beneventi has recently killed his mafia boss father and has taken over the family. His head is all over the place though and not totally in the game. The one woman who has ever interested him (Lyla, or number 327, as she’s known) has been allowed to escape and he needs her back, to kill her, as she knows far too many of his secrets. This is a fascinating tale, told from both POV’s as Lyla tries to evade capture by staying at a woman’s refuge and Breaker does everything possible to find her. The author does a fantastic job of keeping you on the edge of your seat, wondering what the hell is going to happen next. I can add that there are a few curveballs thrown that I never saw coming and totally surprised the hell out of me. I guarantee any reader will love this book if you like a good psychological thriller. I really could not put this book down and eagerly anticipate more of this series.

If you like Psychological Thriller, this is a must read. Brutal & Raw by Sonya Jesus.is just that a Psychological Thriller with a little bit of Romance thrown in the mix. Sonya Jesus does a great job of keeping me the reader on the seat of my chair. Not only this book a Psychological Thriller and Romance, but also a Mafia story as well. The characters are complex on many different levels. It was written with so many details that the images flew off the page. This is about a Mafia boss who told too many details of his life to a woman. The woman ran away and could expose the family with what she knows. What will the Mafia boss do to contain the woman and her knowledge? This a must read for all Psychological thriller fans

Brutal and Raw: Mafia Romance and Thriller Psychological Thriller by Sonya Jesus is the first book in the Beneventi Family series. This is an intense and thrilling book. It felt like for most of this book my heart was absolutely racing. The emotions were so raw and stripped back to the bare bones of what they are about. The characters were so dark and twisted, and yet strong and intriguing. I was drawn into them so easily and they captured my attention for the entirety of the book. This isn’t my first book by this author but it has to be my favourite one so far. It was a thrilling story and one I didn’t want to end. I cannot wait to read more from this series.

So before i get into this, I will say if you haven’t read Thirty One Kisses, read that first. Its an introduction of this family and will help answer questions that would arise in Brutal & Raw if you didnt meet them yet. This book, wow where on earth do i start? 327 is just a number and has somehow made her way into Breakers heart in a very fast amount of time. But being a mafia boss, a new one at that, he can’t have a weakness and he definitely doesn’t believe in love or feelings. 327, has many names in this story and I will call.her that as to not confuse in this review. She escapes a game and is now terrified of being found. As we see her grow a little in the months of hiding, we also see the pull she has to the man she should hate.
I can’t go into too many details as there’s twists and turns I didn’t see coming but just because you’re in charge doesn’t mean everyone listens to you or doesn’t have their own agenda to get to where they want to be. While a lot of things in this book were disturbing, it made connecting with the character a bit easier to me as if that was how I grew up, I would probably feel the same way they all did. I can’t wait for more in this series,and to see where it goes with the ending we get here.

I’ve read Sonya Jesus’s phenomenal Knight’s series before, so anything else by this author I knew was an automatic read, but I never thought this read would be better than them, but boy was I wrong!
This read is dark, suspenseful, psychological, it has romance and leaves me on the edge of my seat with anticipation wondering what could happen next. It is full of twists and turns that have you completely captivated and entranced with this read. This author had created incredible characters and a storyline that is incredible from the start and takes you along an emotional journey. What made this read even more thrilling was how mentally visual this read was, it was as though you were there alongside the characters, it was real, brilliant and I cannot fault it what so ever. I can’t wait to read more from this series and what is to come next!

Oh my word!! WOW!! Not sure where to start with this review….
This is my second book by this author and I’m completely blown away, like sitting here trying to figure out what I just read. I have to confess that when I was at the very beginning I was a bit worried because I was more than a little confused as to what was happening, but that lasted about 5 minutes and then I was so fully immersed in this story that putting it down physically hurt…then at 5% left I closed the book and immediately went to see if the second was out yet because I was scared to death to finish it, I didn’t want to finish it! In looking for the second (which to my sadness is not out yet) I found the novella that came out last year..I quickly purchased that and will be starting that the second I’m done with this review.
No book I’ve ever read has matched a title more than this book! My mind is still all jacked up, there are so many moving parts of this story that take your emotions, squeezes the life out of them then twists them up and has you questioning so many things about how you feel about certain characters in this book. Then add in the twists and turns that have you spinning like a top and I’m telling you right now I feel completely raw.
I’m not even going to attempt to sum up this storyline…the author’s blurb is enough. I am going to attempt to convince anyone that loves to read to buy this book. I’d say buy the novella and this one even if I haven’t read the novella yet, I knew without a doubt I had to have it. Some of the content of this story was completely cringe worthy but that didn’t stop me from becoming completely invested in these characters.
I will be the first in line to buy the next book and will be stalking or I mean following this author everywhere waiting for news on the next!
As I mentioned above..Completely blown away with this authors writing style and the way she made me feel the emotions described.

Ok, So a woman named 327, falls in love with Breaker who’s the Mob bosses Brother, things don’t go as 327 hopes for and Breaker being the non-typical mob guy nice and may have feelings, winds up helping 327 which could end badly for him as well. I love mafia, murder, all that dark dangerous stuff so when I saw this book I knew it was for me. But WOW! It even blew me away. Its all the things a Mafia book should be and more. Its the story of a woman named 327, yes a number. She ended up falling in love with one of the Mob bosses and all she was to him was another notch in his belt. After he had his way with her he ordered her murdered. Breaker the boss’s brother isn’t cut out for this world, he’s too soft, too nice so when he starts trying to help 327 he knows he could go down with her. It is gruesome, it is so very dark and twisted, it is gritty and raw, it is violent and it is I nothing like I have read before and it is like watching a horror movie, a train wreck and a massacre and not being able to look away. But you know what? I could not put it down. Sonya always writes shock value and with this book she has certainly done that and more. I often felt sick and my heart was in my throat, but I had to know where it was going and what was going to happen. Underneath all of this darkness is a love story that is so tragic and twisted but had you feeling for them. Sonya writing is so vivid it is not hard to believe the world and the characters she has brought to life.
I am not going to share any of the book with you this time because I think you need to read it for yourself and see where you stand.
If you love something that will make you sick to your stomach and is so depraved you can’t imagine, then this is a book for you.

Wow!! This book certainly lives up to the title- Brutal & Raw!!! This latest offering from Sonya Jesus is a dark, gripping, and intense ride. The action starts right from the beginning, and drags you into the story kicking and screaming. So many times I wanted to shut the book and turn away from the bloody and violent details, but the story is so compelling I really needed to know how everything turns out. The characters are fully realised individuals, with their own personalities, depth, and flaws. There is definitely a love/hate relationship with them, for me- the MC’s really messed with my emotions as I really felt for 327 and everything she endured. I wanted to hate Breaker and did at times, but my heart broke for how he became the brutal man he is. He is such a complicated mix and that is what both drew me to him and repulsed me at the same time. Then there are the supporting characters, who got as much development as the MC’s. Sonya Jesus unleashes the monsters as there are some totally despicable psycho’s to be found between these pages! This book is not for the feint of heart- there are gruesome and shocking developments that will twist your heart, turn your stomach, and leave you reeling! So, consider yourself warned!!! This is definitely a series I have to follow- so bring on Book #2!!

What an amazing book! This one grabbed my attention from the summary and the amazing cover and then just never let go. Will Breaker find the girl that has escaped and could destroy his organization? Read this book to find out. This story pulled me in from the very beginning and didn’t let me go until the final page. There are many different characters that are introduced besides the two main ones. They range from helpful to the downright dangerous. Some of them you have to wonder about their motivations, and some are only out for themselves. I found myself reading far into the night to find out the ending. The author did an amazing job of making me feel like I was there with the characters. This is the first book in a series and after reading it I can’t wait for the next one.

Wow that was one heck of a ride with Brutal & Raw: Mafia Romance & Psychological Thriller, the Beneventi Family. I could not put this book down, literally from the moment I saw the cover. Once I did have it I couldn’t wait to see if it the story inside would live up to the epic cover that graces this novel. I have always appreciated the way Sonya Jesus can take a dark and twisty world and still make it feel as if you are reading a fairy-tale at times. This one however takes the cake, and has become my favorite of her to date!
In Brutal & Raw we have the story of 327, a woman who has found herself among the worst of the worst and in a mafia ring she can’t escape. She meets Breaker there and he completely shatters her first impressions about all of it. Breaker is one of those Alpha’s that you want to hate and not fall for but I can assure you that by the end it will be hard to deny the goodness that hides in the soul bathed in darkness. I loved all the twists and turns and I can’t wait to see where things will go with the next book.

Brutal & Raw by Sonya Jesus was a thrilling read. I could not put this book down. I was shocked at first with how quickly the author moves the reader through the terror and horror of what the mafia was doing. Wow. I was at the edge of my seat. I also lived the main characters and how well they were developed. They were easy to visualize as the story progressed and realistic. This was such an invigorating and addictive read. I highly recommend it.

Do you want a dark story that will keep you reading into the night? How about on the edge of your seat? Well I couldn’t put this one down! The story left me Brutal and Raw! This isn’t your normal hearts and flowers read. It is dark, suspenseful and thrilling. The characters are evil, difficult and manipulative. I couldn’t get enough of them! Being inside Breaker’s head…I am twisted up! I can’t even say whether I like or hate Breaker for his choices and decisions. 327 is strong! She struggles with herself over thoughts and feelings, living or not living. Does she want to be free of him or free with him?
This is not my first book by this author. Each one is better than the last. This story blows me away! The characters are so hard and difficult but yet a small glimmer of softness. But Day-Um she knows how to manipulate my heartstrings with them. I will tell you she doesn’t give all the answers. I can’t wait for the next one!

I loved this book. This is the first book in this author’s new series, I can’t wait for the second book. I have read all of this author’s books and this is my favorite yet so far. This is a well written story that has a little bit of everything in it including suspense that left me sitting on the edge of my seat just waiting to see what was lurking in the shadows. Her characters are connectable and both good and bad which makes the story engaging and a page turner. Lyla is on the run from the mafia boss but she is also the one that has the control to bring his organization down. She is a great, strong character that has a great control but what will she do with it? I highly recommend reading this book and find out what happens next.

Game of Fear: A gripping psychological thriller with a shocking twist (Fearless Series) by Gledé Browne Kabongo. This book had me completely drawn in and on the edge of my seat. This author knows the meaning of suspense and how to keep readers guessing. From page one I knew I was in for quite the adventure with Abbie, I was hooked and couldn’t put it down. It’s not an overly long book but that didn’t hinder the storyline in anyway, it’s fast paced but not rushed. It’s a well written thriller that I really enjoyed. Characters are complex and well written. If you’re looking for something that keeps you on the edge of your seat I highly recommend this book. Four stars and highly recommended.

Glede Browne Kabongo probably turned into my favorite thriller author! This book took you to a level and then some. I was gibbing my chair and didn’t want to stop reading!
We have Abby who is the model student and human being. Top grades and on her track to Harvard until something in her past comes up. It was something she buried but no deep enough. Someone is calling her out on the events of her past but she has no idea who it is.
I loved reading this book. It kept me on the edge of my seat and it had me guessing who this person could be. I have fallen in love with this book and the author’s writing. The author became a one-click for me!

Game of Fear: A gripping psychological thriller with a shocking twist (Fearless Series) by Glede Browne Kabongo was a fantastic read with a lot of twists and turns that keep you on the edge of your seat. The book definitely lives up to its title that’s for sure. The storyline and characters will keep you engaged and hooked until the very end. In this book we met Abbie who has always been a good girl who has set some high goals for herself. Once her world is turned upside down after she endures the pressure and games at her current school everything could be in jeopardy. Will she lose everything she has worked so hard for? Highly recommend this book, you won’t be disappointed if you love a great thriller.

Game of Fear: A gripping psychological thriller with a shocking twist. Fearless Series Glede’ Browne Kabongo ☆☆☆☆☆ This is a full length novel. A thriller written for YA, but don’t let that stop you. It is a great intense story for all.
As I won’t give away any spoilers, I can tell you that this is a must read! Abbi Cooper is at St. Matthew’s Academy headed towards a major league college. Her nightmare is about to happen and she has no clue who could be behind it all. She must play the game and find out who knows what.
Glede’ Browne Kabongo has a great imagination! Her story is gripping and will keep you turning the page, just to see what happens next. Her characters are typical teenagers. You know the ones you hang out with. This story gives you suspense as well as well as keeps you up all night to finish the book. Once you sit in this rollercoaster, hang on as its about to get real. I enjoyed this story and look forward to spreading the word. This is a new author for me! One I will continue to follow.

This book is not in my normal age group range for characters (high school). I just feel i don’t relate or they’re acting older than they should but this had a nice balance so it held me to the story. Abbie is destined to go far but someone is trying to blackmail her for the one wrong thing she ever did. I kind of figured it out early on but wasn’t 100% sure until closer to the end. Will read more from this author as it seems with the sneak peak at the end the story continues on for Abbie in college and another mystery.

Game of Fear (Fearless Series) by Gledé Browne Kabongo was thrilling and crazy! I loved this invigorating story. I was hooked from the start with this novel. I loved Abbie and her group of friends. It reminded me of my friends from when I was young. She was a talented and strong lead character. I loved how smart and motivated she was. The characters were all developed well in this novel. I also enjoyed the various settings and felt they were described well. This was such an exciting read. I highly recommend it.

Game of Fear (Fearless Series) by Glede Browne Kabongo 4 Stars “Sometimes good girls do very bad things”, and good girl Abbie Cooper may have done something very bad indeed. Abbie has always been an overachiever especially academically and her goal is to get into the Ivy League, Princeton. However at her current school, St. Matthew’s Academy the pressure is immense and is also full of wicked games and dirty secrets. One day Abbie receives a package from ‘The Avenger’, the package contains photos exposing Abbie’s worst and hidden secret, this not only puts her chances of attaining her goal of Princeton in jeopardy but also puts the life’s of her family at risk too. The Avenger, says her secret will be kept but for a price, and Abbie must play the game to find out who the Avenger is, if he exists at all. All Abbie knows is that someone knows her secret and is out to ruin her. I was hooked from page one until the last page, however I did find the book a bit slow to start with but once I got into the story I found it flowed well. I enjoyed this suspenseful thriller and found it was full of twists and turns which kept me guessing until the end and it’s shocking conclusion. The novel is part of a series and I look forward to reading further books by Glede Browne Kabongo.

5 Star Game of Fear – A gripping psychological thriller with a shocking twist (Fearless Series) by Gledé Browne Kabongo is a suspense story that had me on the edge of my seat trying to figure out what happens next. I was drawn in from the beginning and found myself lost in the pages. I couldn’t turn them fast enough. There’s just a little bit of everything from suspense to mystery and even romance. This is my first read by this Author but it definitely wont be my last. Amy has everything going for her all but the one time she did something very very bad. She finds herself in a situation where someone is saying they know what she did. But what do they want with her? What will happen when she is forced to play by his rules? Find out what happens next in this must read I can’t wait to read more from this Author.
