The Bullet Theory (Dr. Nolan Mills Book 1) by Sonya Jesus
The Bullet Theory is the first book in Dr. Nolan Mills Series by Sonya Jesus. Holy Cow the suspense and twists and turns had me on the edge and I couldn’t stop reading till I finished. I literally finished in one afternoon. This author has quickly become one of my top go to authors. Her style of writing never ceases to amaze me. Her characters are relatable and fully developed. Eleanor and Dr. Nolan Mills, she is a woman who is out to get revenge. Dr. Nolan Mills is a therapist who is helping her with her life. She finds herself working with her ex when there’s a killer on the loose. The therapist could be the person she is looking for. Find out what happens next in this must read. I can’t wait to read more from this Author.

I loved reading the book The Bullet Theory (Dr. Nolan Mills Book 1) by Sonya Jesus. It is a story that had me hooked from the very beginning. One of the reasons that this book is so good is the characters of Eleanor Deveraux and Dr. Nolan Mills. Eleanor is a woman who is living day by day with thoughts of revenge. She is a woman who is intelligent, strong, and intent on a path that she feels will mend her mind. Dr. Nolan Mills is a therapist that is helping Eleanor with her life. He is a mysterious and intriguing character. How far will Eleanor go? What will she do when offered a chance at revenge? Read this book to find out. This story had me wondering what was going to happen next. Eleanor is a character that I couldn’t help but have empathy for. Other characters are introduced that are also interesting to read about. Revenge, manipulation, and trauma are included in this book. This is a story that will have you asking yourself what I would do in the same situation. Don’t miss out on a story that you will not want to put down until the final page. Even then I couldn’t put it out of my mind. Wonderfully written. I highly recommend reading it.

I enjoyed this book and it is one of my favorites by this author. This author continues to impress me with her writing skills and her attention to details. This book is no different. It is full of suspense, action and revenge. The characters are well throughout and bring the story to life. I had no problem connecting with them. The twists and turns left me sitting on the edge of my seat just waiting to see what would happen next. Some of them even shocked me. Eleanor’s relationship has been falling apart and now she just wants some revenge. When she finds herself working with him, she finds herself in her therapists office. There is a killer on the loose that needs to be caught. The problem with this is that the person who is trying to help her could be the one she is after. When faced with revenge, will she take it or will she do what’s right? Eleanor is my favorite. She is strong and really just made the story for me. This was an easy story to read as it was entertaining as well as suspenseful. This made a great afternoon read on a cold day. I highly recommend this book and this author.

Sonya’s a nerd—a cool nerd—who loves science, books, make-up and unicorns. She even has unicorn slippers and unicorn plushes adorn her office. It’s not obsession (or so she says), it’s simply an ode to her imaginative side.

Ummm holy crap?! The Perfect Child by Lucinda Berry is a book that has it all if you enjoy reading mystery, psychological, thriller type books. When I got this month’s list of “First Reads” I thought why not pick this one and I am so glad I did. The story revolves around Christopher a doctor and his wife Hannah who is a nurse. A happily married couple who seem to have the perfect stable life except their desire to have a child has been impossible. They encounter a young girl Janie, who is admitted to the hospital under unspeakable circumstances and soon take her in. What starts out as their dream coming true, quickly turns into a nightmare that you won’t soon forget.

The characters are written well and you can envision each one. I found myself drawn to Hannah and feeling her frustration at not being heard. I could see the pain on her face, the disappointment of slowly losing her husband to a manipulative child. Often, Christopher made me so angry and I was literally saying “Are you fricking kidding me? What are you blind?” This book was enthralling, frustrating, heartbreaking, and kept me on my toes.
The author pulled out all the stops and even though I knew early on what the “truth” was going to be I still found it to be a wonderful read that had so many twists and turns you didn’t see coming. This was my first read by this author but I can promise it won’t be my last. I appreciated the vivid details that weren’t over done and loved the different points of views. The secondary characters were realistic and strong and the writing style was smooth and easy. This is a book that you will want to read as soon as you can. Please note that there are some things that may be disturbing but if you like psychological type books you will see it for what it is.

This cruel, yet touching narrative, with its mix of adoring and sinister characters who exist in its broken world, was at times extremely difficult for me to write, and as each scene unfolds, I expect it will be equally as difficult for ‘some’ to read and accept.
