Humiliating Revenge: Contemporary Young Adult Romance by T. Christensen – Review by Raylene Green

Humiliating RevengeHumiliating Revenge by T. Christensen
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Olivia is spoiled and rich. Seems to be disliked by many. And after she dump Callum, not only does the town not forgive her, but Callum doesnt either. He turns into this cold, menacing man who uses his resentment to push forward to teach Olivia a lesson.
Olivia definitely comes off spoiled and stuck up. But she has issues that help make up that appearance. Callum is the exact opposite. He’s the town golden boy, so to speak. Well liked by all and very popular. Theres definitely way more than meets the eye to this story. It captivates from the very beginning. Well done!!!

Forgotten Truth Trilogy: Book One (The Forgotten Trilogy 1) by Virginia Wine – Review by Raylene Green

Forgotten Truth (Forgotten #1)Forgotten Truth by Virginia Wine
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Bryer is heartbroken in this story. Going through a bad breakup. In comes Nathan. Typical playboy but is intrigued by Bryer. Plenty of suspense. And everytime you think you’re over one suspense hurdle, you’re hit by another one. I picked the softer version of this book, but its completely correct when it tells you it has the same intensity. Glad this is a trilogy because after you read this one, you’ll want more!!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the second book in this series so if you havent read the first one, you definitely need to. The picture painted on this book is intricate and vivid. The imagination it took was remarkable! Creativity is absolutely not in shortage for this book! And the names! They are so odd but they work! The whole book works remarkably well! A truly well done read!

A Gentleman’s Stipulation (The Scarlet Salon Book 4) by Jean Wilde – Review by Raylene Green

A Gentleman's Stipulation (The Scarlet Salon, #4)A Gentleman’s Stipulation by Jean Wilde
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I enjoyed the love-hate in this book. It’s number 4 in the series but can be read as a standalone. Lady Victoria isn’t impressed with Blake and Blake isn’t impressed with Victoria. It doesn’t matter that shes attracted to him….she wants love, not convenience. Shes a bit brash which threw me off considering the genre, but it ended up being a decent book.

Mountains Series Boxed Set:(Books 1-3) By Phoebe Alexander – Review by Raylene Green

Mountains Series Boxed Set: (Books 1-3)Mountains Series Boxed Set: by Phoebe Alexander
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I have to admit, I wasn’t sure what to think when I started this series. It gives you a look into alternate lifestyle in an honest, respectful way. Sarah and James know what they want and it seems that while they want each other, they want different things in life they cant give one another. This series takes you through their struggle with them. And its amazing. An eye opening experience with a talented author!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I’m a giant fan of the brothers best friends books; and this one in no exception!! There is plenty of drama, plenty of heat, and plenty of chemistry! But its emotional as well. The issues that Sam has are very real but rope you into the story line of the book. This is an amazing book and the story thats told to you for Sadie and Archer is a new favorite of mine. A best read this year by far!!!!

I cried. A lot while reading this book. And it was such a well written book too. The topic is one that isn’t talked about; you don’t hear about women abusing men. Dane’s wife is more than cruel in many ways. Especially since she uses their son against Dane. This book is a real eye opener. And its pretty amazing. Just wish it was a bit longer.

Brutal & Raw: Mafia Romance & Psychological Thriller (Beneventi Family Book 1) by Sonya Jesus – Review by Raylene Green

Brutal & Raw (Beneventi Family, #1)Brutal & Raw by Sonya Jesus
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book is the very definition of a psychological thriller. Its brutal, it will leave you raw, its twisted, and will tie you up in knots. And most important is the fact that its real scenarios. I wanted to hate Breaker, but his upbringing makes you understand why he is the way he is. This is one of those books that cannot be spoiled. The twisty turns will shock you but this book is awesome. And its quite a ride!! Buckle your seatbelts!!!!

This is Trish’s story of adoption. Its full of growth, angst, and hurt. A renowned pianist, she looks for love and tries to find herself in the wrong men. And then you meet Michael—who has plenty of baggage and no room for love.
Such a powerdul and realistic book! Real! Beautiful! Definitely worth the read!!

Mountains Climbed (Mountains Series #2) by Phoebe Alexander – Review by Raylene Green

Mountains Wanted (Mountains Series Book 1)Mountains Wanted by Phoebe Alexander
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book was a bit different than anything I’ve read. While I’m semi-familiar with polyamory, I’ve never read anything in regards to it. Sarah meets James, a lieutenant. They have great sexual chemistry, regular chemistry as well. She meets Pawel next, a colleague who she finds out is married and in an open relationship. What follows is a story between the 3 that you have to read to completely understand.
Phoebe took a taboo and perhaps a confused and even misunderstood subject and made it something worth reading. I can to wait to dive into the next book!!

Before The Second Show by Thia Ginn – Review by Raylene Green

Before the Second ShowBefore the Second Show by Thia Finn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is a standalone, but there definitely needs to be more because WOW! It starts with your typical teenage crush. Trace gives Emmy her first kiss and she never forgets him…knowing that they have chemistry and wishing for another chance to see him because shes convinced it’s love. And when they meet again a few years later while Emmy is in college, shes crushed when Trace doesnt remember her. Fate brings her Marcus…or so she thinks until fate steps in again in the best way possible.
Great writing, great story line, great chemistry, and all around fantastic book! Im excited to read Thia again!!!!

REWIND Boxed Set (Rewind Series Books 1-4) By Rowan Shaw – Review by Raylene Green

Rewind Boxed SetRewind Boxed Set by Rowan Shaw
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

There was nothing in this box set that wasn’t well written, unrelatable, or well developed. And it’s another subject that isn’t talked about a lot in books, but is explained so very well. It’s a very emotional read and dark as well, but it’s a beautifully written set of books. I absolutely dont want to give anything away. It’s a must read and a new favorite for sure for years to come!!! What a truly phenomenally gifted writer!

Covert Threat (A Gray Ghost Novel, book 5) by Amy Mckinley – Review by Raylene Green

Covert Threat (Gray Ghost #5)Covert Threat by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This author is new to me but this story was amazing. This is the 5th in the series but the first one I read. It wasnt confusing though; very easy to read.
Jules is a genius scientist looking for a cure tobacco rare disease that has killed others. When odd things start happening to Jules, her boss brings in Trev to be her bodyguard, just to be on the safe side. Only things escalate…dangerously.
A strange left on a mirror, mysteriously moved items, and a note from Jules mother that ties the whole book together. This book is fantastically written and brilliantly executed! I’d give it 10 stars if I could!

The Sister Pact: Home is Where The Heart is by Jacquie Biggar – Review by Raylene Green

The Sister Pact: Home is Where The Heart isThe Sister Pact: Home is Where The Heart is by Jacquie Biggar
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I loved dynamic between Holly and Levi. And the characters are set up beautifully. Holly heads home after an illness ends her music career early and seeing Levi again reminds her of their past…and her feelings. Feelings she tries to put on the back burner while she tries to fix her relationship with her sister Susan and Susan’s husband Steve. But those feelings along with family secrets cannot be hidden…or ignored. The family dynamic in this book is amazing!! It’s well written, well thought out, and fantastically full of feelings. A first by this author for me, but definitely not the last!!!

Broken by Love (The Full Circle Series) by MJ Masucci – Review by Raylene Green

Broken by LoveBroken by Love by M.J. Masucci
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I thought from the beginning that Noah was too good to be true. Lexi and Noah’s relationship was believable. Crazy chemistry and very well written. And I wanted more of Lexi and JC’s relationship.
But part of me was completely blindsided by the turn of events. Made for a titillating storyline. I enjoyed it though. The ending seemed a bit rushed is my only negative. Would definitely read this author again. Some major potential.
