Fury of Conviction (Dragonfury Short Story Collection, #2)Fury of Conviction by Coreene Callahan
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

What’s not to love!?!
Dragon shifters and romance make a brilliant combination. This is the first book I have read from this author and even though this is the second book of the series I didn’t feel like I was any missing threads of the story. The author’s writing is well executed and I love the world she has created. It is a short story though, so a quick read. Looking forward to reading more in this series.

Laugh out loud paranormal fun!
Absolutely adored this book. So much fun to read and so many lol moments. The writing is easy to read, the characters brilliant and the story fabulously executed. I was taken along from the first page and engaged right until the end. If you love a mix of paranormal from Greek gods to shifters and everything in between, I recommend this book. I can’t wait to read more from this author.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Sweet, mature romance
I really enjoyed reading this book. This is exactly what it says – slow burn, small town romance. Chloe is a well balanced, easy to relate to individual who is relatively inexperienced when it comes to romance. Chris is also a well balanced individual but is a little more experienced. The multiple POV story follows these two as they navigated their way to happiness. The best thing about the book was the lack of unnecessary angst. This book kept it real which was refreshing.

A brilliant series starter.
What a fantastic world Martin Ferguson has created. I devoured this book and can’t wait to delve into the next. Wonderful characters (loved Alena), excellent world building and faultless execution makes this a series not to missed. The author takes us on an epic journey that brings together the band of misfits ready for the next instalment, which I eagerly await.

Unpredictable, intense psychological thriller
This draws you in from the first page. A brilliant piece of writing, this keeps you glued right through until the end. The major twist caught me by surprise and had me searching for the breadcrumbs scattered throughout the story. Chilling, creepy and captivating – I highly recommend.

Intriguing sci-fi
Alterations is a very intriguing sci-fi thriller. Jane Suen does an excellent job interweaving the character’s stories. The concept of the chip has an originality and drew me in from the start. Easy-to-read and thought provoking I devoured the book. I am really looking forward to continuing the trilogy and seeing what happens with Dr. Kite.

A really great crime read.
This is the sixth book in the series and it was so engaging. Even when I had to stop reading, I was easily able to pick it up and get absorbed back into the pages. Madeline and Mike are so relatable and I was swept up by the drama surrounding the cases. The author executed the interwoven storyline excellently and kept the intrigue going right until the end. If you enjoy a good detective series don’t miss this one.

Confronting and real
This is a second chance romance novel and the third in a series. It does not run along the same lines as other second chance novels I have read. It has a raw edge to it as Glory faces the demons of her past and Kace tries to stand by her side. The author has interwoven a very confronting issue throughout the story extremely well and I was vested from start to finish. A brilliant addition to the series.

Intriguing, intense and entertaining
I have loved every book in this series. Each book just gets better and better and takes the reader on a wonderful journey of discovery in a world that could one day exist. Told from Freya’s POV, this story continues on from book 3 – concentrating on the establishment of family. The story is so well written that I feel the emotions so strongly – fear, hope, sadness and excitement.
T.S. Simons you have done it again. An enthralling addition to a magnificent series.

An hysterical rom-com
From the first pages this had me laughing. The banter between Shel and Simone was brilliant and the pace of the romance well done. I loved the setting being animal rescue, this was well researched and executed wonderfully. The cover model does Shel justice too – ‘swoon’. This was a salacious, romantic and engaging read. Highly recommend.

A quirky who-dunnit with a comedic edge.
Very well written and easy to read with a FMC that will have you equal parts laughing and frustrated. This is the first book that I have read from this author and I didn’t realise going in that this was the second book in a series. There is enough backstory interwoven into this that I didn’t feel lost but I will definitely be going back and reading the first book. The little town is described perfectly that I could picture all the places and the mystery was not too predictable.
Highly recommend this series.

This is my first book by Olivia Sherwood and what an amazing read it was. I fell in love with Annie and Wyatt and the town of Parker Lake. The story is a sweet romance with a comedic flair. Annie and Wyatt each have their own demons from the past and it was a treat to have a front row seat as they navigated their way through this together. Brilliantly written – a series starter that will not disappoint.

Dark, twisted and gripping
The world the author creates is brilliant. It draws you in and twists you about and then spits you out at the end leaving the reader stunned. The writing is flawless and storyline unpredictable. Even after I had finished the book I was thinking about it and trying to rationalise my feelings about Troy. I’m not going to give much more away. If you enjoy a good, unpredictable, psychological story then this is the book for you.

This little collection of well-written stories will get you thinking. Every story is different but draws you in and takes you on a little trip. This is a fabulous collection of insightful prose poetry and meaningful sketches. The use of imagery and rhythm were spot on. My favourite were the Environment collection and Addiction. The short story at the end was very cleverly written and entertaining. Even though this is a quick read there is something that will connect with everyone.

Dark, gritty and thrilling.
Oh wow! So not what I was expecting. This is told from a different character’s POV than the first book but has some crossover. I do suggest that you read these in order as the background from book one is needed to understand the plot. There is a good balance between the romance and the ongoing mystery which I really enjoyed. The character’s emotions are so well written and the struggles with his gift just bled off the pages and had my heart racing. Now to wait to see where the author takes this in book 3.

This was so much fun! I loved the banter between Chelsea and Tom. There were many laugh-out-loud moments as the author captured each moment so realistically. The storyline, romance and steam were nicely balanced and who doesn’t need a friend like Nadia – she’s brilliant. If you like friends to lovers don’t miss this one. Un-put-down-able
First book from this author for me and I think I have stumbled upon a brilliant series. Loved the writing, the characters, the setting and the story line. The story didn’t get caught up on too much angst and just moved along at a nice pace. The maturity of the characters wasn’t compromised to create unnecessary drama – it was fairly straightforward and real. Once I started I was sucked right in and didn’t want to leave. Romance, country music and southern hospitality. Really loved Clay and Katie and hope that we get insights into their life in future books.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Amazing paranormal YA story.
Really enjoyed this story, it was very easy to read and had great pacing. The characters were well developed and Lucy was presented as a very typical 16 year old with all her attitude and ‘worries’. The unique aspect of the paranormal was refreshing and the underlying story for Lucy made me so much more vested in her character. I feel there is still so much more to explore in book 2 and I look forward to it.

It was a very interesting storyline and the pacing kept me reading. The author’s writing style is engaging with a lot of show not tell. Cleverly written sci-fi adventure
This was an exceptional piece of writing. So many layers that one could easily become lost in the intricate web of the multi-verse. The author was very good at providing moments of grounding within each chapter that really helped the reader to connect and gather their understanding. There is a lot within these pages but it all needs to be appreciated as a whole package – so reading on is a must as it all ties in together. As I finished the book it I felt like I had been on an epic journey – just as the title says. Highly recommend.

Danielle Jacks you’ve done it again. This was all kinds of hot! Loved Setter and Casey’s story and I was engaged from page 1. As usual the writing is on point, the characters relatable and the story steaming. Each character’s backstory is fleshed out as the story progresses and I really loved the dual POV. I highly recommend all of Danielle Jack’s books but just be warned – once you start you won’t be coming up for air until the book is finished.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

An original YA fantasy book. I enjoyed the characters and the twist on magic and witches. There was a fair bit if foundation set in this first book of a series but it is executed well. Mikayla is easily relatable and her back story running parallel with witch folklore was intriguing. Like many academy books this takes place in an academic year. It can be enjoyed by all ages as it is clean and easy to read. Not a cliffhanger as such but I will be checking out book 2.

This is my first book by this author and it did not disappoint. The writing is really easy to read and the story has a really good flow. The mix of time travel, witches and romance was very well executed. The characters were relatable and the world building good. The ending felt a bit rushed but came to a natural conclusion. No cliffhanger but the world has been developed to continue with side characters into book 2.

A unique and intriguing insight into the mind of an arsonist by a very talented author. This brilliantly executed thriller had me engaged from page one. The story is very masterfully layered and interwoven but not once was I lost even with multiple POV and storylines. I am also very good at predicting where the storyline is going and not once in this book did I get it right, which was refreshing. Great characterisation and plot twists that will shock you. I highly recommend this book.

Angels, Anarchy, Demons and Destruction
This is the first book I have read by Misty Hayes and it won’t be the last. Amazing writing and wonderful characterisation had me turning the pages rapidly. I devoured this book and just want more. I found out afterwards that this is a spin-off from another series and to be honest it made a lot of sense. There are certain events that occur in this book that are obviously explained in the previous books. This doesn’t really impact the flow of this storyline though. The world building is very detailed that the reader can easily picture the action. For lovers of YA paranormal and fantasy – you won’t be disappointed.

A very well written and unpredictable thriller. Molly is easily relatable, at times I felt she was younger than her actual age but this was a deliberate execution by the author. The twists and turns kept coming and the story unravelling as the past and present collide. I really enjoy Jessica Aiken-Hall’s books and this is another that I highly recommend.

I did not know what to expect going into this book. I didn’t realise this was book 2 but that did not take away from the storyline and I was quickly drawn into the world. I am curious enough to go back and read book 1 though to get the backstory. This is a little bit of a mystery wrapped up in a paranormal world with a bucketload of romance. Teagan is a likeable character and grows throughout the book. This ties up nicely but leaves an opening for book 3.
