This is such a heartbreaking story. This story follows the lives of three different young ladies that each find themselves pregnant and unmarried. This book really tackles the sexism and the racism that unfortunately were so prevalent back then. They were forced to give their babies up and in the midst of their fear and forced silence they bond and become friends. Years later they’re brought back together and searching for answers. There are some unexpected twists in this story and I’m so happy that they all get closure in the end. This is a must read that will really open your eyes to the emotional turmoil that so many young women suffered through.

This is a great historical romance with a twist. This book really pulled me in from the very first page. Poor Emily ins her self put up as collateral in a bet by her stepbrother. She quickly discovers there are far worse things than being won by such a handsome man. Philip may be drunk and she may be terrified but they are both drawn to each other and their hearts call out to the other. As they start to get to know each other their feelings grow. There are some unexpected twists and turns in this story that really kept me glued to the edge of my seat! If you love historical romances this is one that you definitely won’t want to miss.

I really enjoyed this story. The story was dynamic and full of twists and turns. A daughter and father are off travelling to ease the pain of losing their mother and wife. They go on an adventure that begins in India where her father works as a doctor to help the locals. Once his contract is done in India they are off for a vacation in the very cold Yukon. The story revolves around the bond between father and daughter and the strength it takes to be brave in the face of fear and the unknown. A guiding grace helps on this amazing journey.

This was a really good book! I was immersed in this novel from the beginning and it didn’t let me go. This was enthralling from the get go and as a result I had trouble putting it down. It made for a very quick read. The book was descriptive and very well written. I loved the characters and I felt like I was right there with them through the whole thing. I can’t wait to read more of this series and more from this author. I can’t wait to see what happens next and with more characters!

Apocalypse Thoughts (The Pox Series Book 5) by Kendra Griffin. This is a great young adult read. Its the 5th book in the series which I didn’t realize so it can be read as a standalone.The story revolves around a 17 year old girl named Kella who has taken to the Appalachian Trail to find a cure for the POX virus that has turned tons of people into cannibals and mutating everyday. Kella is determined to take care of her brother and keep him safe. Her brother Huck and her cousin Jumper travel along trying to fight for their lives and find a cure along the way. Kella has the best outlook on things which I think helps everyone along. She’s funny and tries to keep everyone uplifted. With this last installment of The Shadow Chronicles, I was sad to see it end. I was so invested in this little family of three. This story picks right where book 2 stopped and it continues in a fast paced setting. You learn so much that is still going on and has much to finish and wrap up. Tasha’s and Levi’s love for each other never stops growing. It gets so much better when Tasha decides that she’s not just going to let Levi walk all over her. She pushes him to be the best that he can be and lets him know that no matter what she is his equal in every shape and form. It was a nice little tidbit seeing some of the Greek mythos introduced in the beginning. It gave a good little back story to what lead up these events. This last book does not disappoint it’s readers and does leave you wanting more, but sad knowing that there is no more. I cant wait to read other books b this author because I greatly enjoy their storytelling and their beautiful writing. It sucks you in and it’s like watching a movie right before your eyes.

There is soo much to say about this book! Its a truly gripping tale that takes you on the best emotional roller coaster ride you didn’t expect to go on. I felt such a bond with many of the characters in this book, and felt may self-reflective moments about how this could be me or someone I love living this story. I can say I was rooting for everyone in this story to make it.
The main character and narrator is a brave, loyal, independent, coming of age girl named Kella. She tells her story with honesty, optimism, clarity, anxiousness, fear, and of course bits of anger. The Apocalypse is now and Kella just wants to survive and take care of her brother Huck. With Huck and her cousin Jumper they begin a trek to along the Appalachian Trails armed with vital information that could change everything. As they fight to survive they come across many people who want what they have and are out to get them, or who have been infected with this virus and are trying to infect them. This journey brings in many characters that become new friends/allies in this deteriorating world, and then others who are that wolf in sheep’s clothing. What will become of Kella? Will her and her companions make it through to the end, or is all lost?

I often struggle with YA books and the fact that they either villianize adults in general or make the kids not kid like, or not smart enough to handle scary scenarios. (But who doesn’t like a good dystopian style book?) This book is so well written, shows the strength kids, their perception and wittiness, how capable and intelligent they are – while still keeping them relatable and realistic. Kella is truly a good, likable character and such a great narrator. I really enjoyed this book and will definitely read it again. I’m watching this author, her writing is so well done I couldn’t put this book down.

I enjoyed reading this with my daughter. She enjoyed the strut and learning about a new country. She’s a little younger than the age group this was intended for, but we made due. It was a cute story with a little bit of everything in it.

5 Stars. Would give it more if I could!
I admit it, I’m in love with he Bully Romance genre/trope, and I don’t care who knows it. This one though is up there as one of the best I’ve read in terms of keeping me engaged and wanting to know what happens next. I could NOT put this one down (legit stayed up all night reading it…whoops.).
While this novel doesn’t have much else to it other than the bullying and the relationship between Brock and Kirsa, it was believable and an enjoyable read. I will say I figured out the endgame pretty quick, but I desperately wanted to know how they got there. Sometimes it’s not about figuring out the ending, but rather the journey to get there. You will want to pul your hair out in frustration at times though due to Brock’s thickheadedness, but it’s oh so worth it.
I think one of the reasons I enjoy the bully trope so much is because of the strength of the character being bullied, to deal with everything being thrown their way, but still forging forward and seeing the good in people and a future without the bullying, and Kirsa does not disappoint in that aspect. Even when we see her pushed down and ready to give up there’s a strength and resilience about it that says she will not stay down.
Brock does semi grow up throughout the novel, realizing he’s not as certain as he thought about the circumstances, but of course it had to take him being jealous to come to that conclusion (oh the romance genre falling back on good ole tropes). I can appreciate the reason behind him being so stubborn though and what that means for/about him as a person (well, character).
Also, I loved Rylan as a side character and would love to get a novel, or at least a novella, about him and his journey to finding love.
This novel is more of a New Adult novel as it does include graphic language and explicit sexual situations, and does start with the characters fairly young, but I was reading way worse than this at 13/14 in terms of sex content. I don’t know that I would have been okay with the bully aspect included here at that age though. This is also a novel about high school characters, so if age is an issue I recommend something else, where the characters are in college or older.

I was so excited to take another journey into the New Orleans Nocturn Series and this book was just what the doctor ordered. I have read this series from the beginning and all I can say is it just keeps getting better. I like how it is paranormal and funny with just the right mix of romance to boot. The characters are endearing and the storlines unique. I didn’t want to put this book down. I also enjoy how diverse the character base is and that all Supes are included shifter alike. I cannot wait for the next book in this series. Definitely one of my top 10 favorite authors.

No Names to be Given is beautiful and enticing. I knew within the first three chapters this book would leave me with so many feelings and it didn’t disappoint. It covers the tough, yet touching, topic of adoption and shows how much pain can be in any decision.
I’m so happy to have a copy of this book for my shelves and plan to pass on copies to others. This is probably the best debut novel I’ve ever gotten my hands on and is 100% the best story I’ve read in a long time. I’m itching for more from this author. Thank you for such a beautiful story!

New Orleans Nocturnes is a great series and this book is no expection to it. Katrina is a succubus looking for her own freedom so. She’s been behind a massive dating app for supernatural to join the dating market. Gabe chacter is cheeky and quirky and naughty. I throughly enjoyed the tongue in cheek witty banter and humour.

This book starts off running with strong female characters, and I am here for it. Starting in 1965, this book centers around three women who are faced with tough decisions through impending motherhood and is based on real events. Sandy, Becca, and Faith embark upon a journey that will keep you at the edge of your seat as you root for their endearing and intriguing characters. These three women are pressured by not only the societal standards, but familial and internal standards, as well, and struggle to do what is right for them. I really appreciated this book. The story is quite easy to fall into and stay hooked until the very end – the characters are the best part about it. It left me wanting to learn more and experience more from each of these characters once I was finished. I give this book 5 stars and would love each character to get her own book!

“Tally and the Angel: Book One India” is an excellent book for young readers aged around seven and up. It teaches the reader many life lessons. The reader learns inspirational lessons like healing after loss, love, believing in yourself and thinking of others before oneself. At the same time readers are learning about the culture and people of India. This book has elements of a good mystery and a good fantasy. The story flows well and grips the reader from page one.

This story has many avenues to experience. It is also a Western Romance with Suspense to keep you reading. Becky is back! She has become quite the Country singer. But once again she continues to show her strength and as well as her faith, to bring her positive outlook in life. Becky highlights Little Cassie in this book. She too is a strong little lady and you can’t help falling in love with her as well. This book is a page turner forsure. You get the need to continue reading it from start to finish. I was drawn in on book one as well as book two, book three did not disappoint. I love this author’s style of writing! She never drags on and always thinks of every detail. Her story has many roller coasters you will board. It is not required, but I recommend you read this series in order. Get to know the characters and their part in this the final book of this series. Betrayal at the Beach was a great cozy mystery story. You can’t help but be drawn to Sunshine Baker and her amateur sleuth skills. This was just the type of book that you would want to read on a cold and snowy afternoon in a blanket with a nice warm cup of hot chocolate, like I did.
I felt that Sunshine was a very strong character whose quirkiness came through beautifully. This was a lighthearted read and the perfect way to start a new year. The secondary characters all enhanced the story and I’m hoping that as a series goes on will get to know them even more in depth.
It had just the right amount of mystery you would expect for a true cozy book. It was a very quick read that kept you engaged from page one to the last page. I very much enjoyed this authors writing style with just the right amount of humor.
If you enjoy quick reads, and true cozy mysteries, then you will want to pick this book up and give this series a try.

The chronology is somewhat distorted, which, having a migraine, like the main character does in the beginning of the story, is a typical occurrence. So with that disruption of linear time, we go on a self reflection for a better understanding of self. interesting concept with interesting characters and I can’t wait to continue the story in the next book.

This is book three of the series and can be read as a standalone. I highly recommend reading the whole series because each book is fantastic!
Colleen is Parker’s only hairstylist. She’s not had much stability in her life and lacks confidence so she really tries to steer clear of many people. Brant has never had any ties accept for his adoptive mother. If he can stay in Parker for three years, his school loans are free and clear. He’s sure he will walk away after three years no problem. Best laid plans and all that. Brant and CC meet after an auction date is purchased for CC. Both of them have baggage that weighs them down. Will these two work passed the demons of their past or will it all be too much?
I really enjoyed this book, much like the others in the series. I couldn’t put it down! CC struggles with confidence but works to help everyone else feel great about themselves. She’s so selfless. I really enjoyed both CC and Brant as characters. I highly recommend!
Fun, flirty and fabulous What an entertaining read. Katrina is so funny and with such an angry streak and filthy mouth she had me in stitches. Satan in all his villainy was great and Gabe was intriguing. With miscommunications and uncontrollable feelings, the stage is set for an enjoyable romcom ride. A great afternoon read. Recommend.

The heat between Sam and Ellie is smoldering but there’s a much deeper connection between them, just longing to be explored. Fate had Sam dial Ellie’s number that night when they were each so close to ending it all. They found a lifeline in each other and the evil monster that is his father brought them even closer together. When I read what that monster did to Sam when he was a young boy my heart absolutely broke for him. No child should have to go through that. Ellie is just the gentle soul that he needed to begin to heal his wounds and allow him to feel his heart again and give him a reason to live. There is so much action and danger in this story and so much heartbreak, until the very amazing ending that took my breath away. This story is incredible and absolutely one not to be missed!

This is such a great crime read. I love Graces character and her motivation to prove Zoe’s innocence. Trying to move on and heal from her own personal stuff Grace has to push through to save Zoe. The race to find the truth keeps you wanting more. I loved the authors writing. The words and story line just really flow and make for a great read. I definitely would not be opposed to reading more about Grace!

Tally and her angel, Jophiel, are back for another adventure. This time they will face a mystery and evil forces in Canada. This is a great read for young readers. It’s exciting with plenty of action throughout. Another thing I loved about this book is that Tally learns about bravery and sacrifice. At the same time she also learns how people survive in the Yukon in Canada.

Brant Billings is in the same smalltown but not because he wants to be. Brant has found a way to get his student loans forgiven, spend 3 years in rural America where there is limited access to health care. He is two and half years in. Brant noticed the extremely attractive hairstylist shortly after getting to town but she, CC, seems to avoid him.
Brant agrees to partake in a bachelor auction that the town is holding to raise funds to help CC make her dream for her extra building come true. This is just the start of CC and Brant being in the same place at the same time. As their mutual attraction grows, so does their friendship. Will this be the beginning of something special? When his time is up, is Brant gone?
This endearing tale of love and finding more than what you expect is cleverly written. The colorful cast of characters grab you from the start. The townsfolk keep the excitement and the laughs coming. Be prepared to laugh out loud, like milk (or water, in my case) coming out of the nose laughing! I am just jumping into this series but I plan to make a u-turn and find out what I missed. Great read with a little steam!!!

This book is the story of three women who meet after they all get pregnant out of wedlock and go through their pregnancies in a maternity home. This book is emotional and covers so many topics going through the 60s to early 2000s and all of the events of the times. From interracial relationships, rape, and abuse. Sandy, Becca, and Faith all go through different walks of life, but bond as they are going through one of the toughest things in their life. The story continues the story after the birth of their children and how it effects them each over the years and what happens with their children afterwards.
I loved this book. It was emotional and beautifully written. I had a hard time putting it down. I wanted to keep reading it and would love to read more by her. There are so many incredible stories woven through this book. This had everything; tragedy, romance, heartbreak, happy moments, and at times very intense.
I would recommend this to anyone who wants to be in their feels. This will give you that. Events such as the ones portrayed in this book are relatable and were happening throughout the years.
