EverMarked by AJ Eversley a fast-paced four-star read. This is number one in the EverMarked series and shows great promise. This is one that you need to focus on, there seemed to be a lot going on and lots of characters to keep track of, but it kept you hooked and the author has fantastic attention to detail. Sienna and Jayla tell the story and they tell a great story, but there are other characters who play important parts in the story and what a story. As you get deeper into the chapters you get deeper into the story and it just gets deep. This is a great story and with a little more polish and a little less going on all at the same time at points it would make a great five-star read. I for one can’t wait for the next instalment.

I love a novel which is full of suspense, a touch of sexiness and full of twists and turns along the way! The story keeps you on the edge Of your seat eager to turn the page’s to find out what happens next! It is such an intense emotional storyline which takes you on a roller coaster! I just couldn’t pull my eye’s away from the page’s I was glued I had no problem reading this novel in one sitting. Eager to read more from this author fantastic!!!

Lucky at Love: Some Guys Just Never Give Up…is another enthralling read by Cynthia Hamilton. I know I keep raving about Ms. Hamilton’s books and how much I love her writing- but I can’t help it, she really does know how to tell a captivating story and she never fails to impress me. This is another book of hers that I really wasn’t sure about, going into it- I thought it would be a nice and easy read. So, I was really surprised, very early on, by just how fantastic it really was. I definitely didn’t expect to love it quite as much as I did- and I certainly didn’t expect to become so completely invested in the characters as the story progressed. I really want to go on and on about all the elements of the story that I loved- but I think that by giving you those details might spoil the story for you. I think the blurb gives enough of an idea of what to expect but keeping enough back to make this a very intriguing read. This seemingly simplistic story hides a more richly textured, character driven plot that explores so many notions such as human nature, connection, love, romance, emotion, and so much more. A true Pearl of a story!

Distant Heart Sounds by Kate MacInnis a starting four-star read. This was my first by this author, but I really hope it won’t be the last as I enjoyed the writing. I liked Morgan Cutler she was easy to like, with her great sense about her, world weary but fierce, not all will warm but I simply adored her. Watching her open and see life a new was very well done, it left me wondering and with a great feeling meaning I cant wait for more, there were just a couple of bits that dragged for me otherwise it would have been five-stars.

EverMarked is like The Hunger Games, but a thousand times better. Eversley has really outdone herself with this book and I can’t wait for the next EverMarked Series book.
Sienna, a Marked Kid, isn’t a normal kid. She isn’t human, but she’s not a Carbon. She’s a mixture. Things aren’t as she thought and it’s getting hard for her. The quote I chose for Sienna is: “But that doesn’t make sense. What happens when we get out of here? Will they still fear us?”
Jayla, a Watcher, finds herself in the one place she doesn’t want to be. She helps Sienna and Theo out when they find themselves in a tight spot. When things get bad Jayla turns to Cas. The quote I chose for Jayla is: “I haven’t forgotten, Em. I know very well what our job is, and that’s why I say we wait.”
This book is fantastic and I highly recommend it. Two girls, both afraid of the same thing.

Another page turner from Hamilton! I love how versatile Hamilton is and found another heartfelt piece of fiction to gladly add to my collection. I loved this book and found the characters to be relatable and well developed. Will highly recommend to others.

I love how Pulkinen formulates her stories. She is a master at the paranormal romance genre with a comedic touch. They are always entertaining and relatable. This latest installment kept my pages turning as fast as they would go. Loved it and definitely recommend!

This is the first book I’ve read by this author and I really enjoyed it. The plot flows very well and I love the attention to detail. The beautiful cover immediately drew me in and I was fascinated by the story that Eversley wove together. A quick read for me and one I definitely enjoyed. I look forward to reading more in the series.

The three main characters, Priscilla, Phil, & Tobias, meet in a diner in Manhattan. Each of them have different life experiences and issues they are struggling with and this chance meeting starts their healing process. There were some parts that seem to take it slow, which make it a little hard to keep reading but it didn’t make me stop.
I have read several books by Ms. Hamilton. I love how she creates characters who are interesting, believeable, and hook you into the story because you can connect with them so well.

Callan and Shane are a daydream or are they. Shane has a bit of a mistruting after been hurt in the past. Abused so he is very catuios. This book is quite an emotional read and is hard to read in some parts. It a real good read and you feel very connected to the characters.

Finders Reapersis the fourth book in the New Orleans Nocturnesseries by Carrie Pulkinen. As expected, this is another fantastic, fun, sexy, and humorous Paranormal Romance from Ms. Pulkinen. I have really been enjoying my time exploring the New Orleans Nocturnes “world”, with each new book adding more depth and dimension to the series as a whole. Having met both Asher and Jasmine previously in the series, I was really excited to get my hands on their story. Hello! Grim Reaper and Necromancer story- I knew it was going to be brilliant the moment I began. As I have said previously, this series just seems to get better with each new instalment- with Ms. Pulkinen upping the ante with each new release- delivering a captivating, original, sexy, fun, and humorous take on New Orleans’ paranormal life- and giving each book its own unique identity in the wonderful world she’s crafted. This a paranormal romance done brilliantly- with fantasy, ghosts, secrets, magic, drama, intrigue, danger, the supernatural, paranormal activity, demons, suspense, emotion, pandemonium, different realms, mystery, adventure, action, and lots of humour- making for quite a touching, magical, mysterious and spellbinding ride. When the Grim Reaper takes a break to regroup, all hell breaks loose- bringing mayhem and chaos in its wake. Asher’s job just got so much more complicated. But with one powerful, dangerous, and wily ghost keeping him from completing his mission, Asher is going to need some help if he’s to set things right before it’s all too late. I’ll See You Again (Reigning Hearts, #4) by K.G. Fletcher was a great 5 star read. I was pulled right in with this great story. My emotions were all over the place.
I was excited to get Nicky’s story. Nicky is a wedding planner and Mac (Reid) is a famous rockstar. When these two meet there are instant sparks and the chemistry comes right off the pages. Mac invites Nicky to New York for the band’s world tour kick off. When things take a twist and Nicky finds herself in the headlines
Will the headlines cause Mac to leave Nicky or will Mac lose NIcky?
Overall I really enjoyed this read. We get some steamy moments and the bantering was great. All of the secondary characters were great, it was like a reunion with some of them. This book can be read as a stand alone. Rock star romance is one of my favorite genres, I really enjoyed this book and this series. I am not a publisher nor will I be one in the future but I am a reader and curious about the process. I found the definition of terms super helpful at the beginning. There was a clear understanding of what was being discussed. I also loved the discuss of personal experiences.

After Road’s competing days are over, he is in quite the funk. To get him out of, Drummer sends him on a mission to go check out the Utah chapter. Drummer feels that something isn’t right and he wants Road to investigate. While Road clears his head on the ride, he finds it all messed up again when things aren’t as they seem in Utah. While they appear as a normal (and that’s a relative term) Satan’s Devils MC at first glance…inside things are definitely different. He can’t get word to Drummer and he begins to wonder if he will even make it back home.
While this takes a different route in terms of storyline from the other books in the series…it is still amazing! There is so much going on and it had me wondering what was going to happen next. It is definitely not predictable…and I loved that! Once again, can’t wait to see where this series goes next!

Lucky at Love (Some guys just never give up) By Cynthia Hamilton 4 out of 5 stars I wasn’t sure entirely what to expect when I picked up Lucky in Love but I’ve truly come to love Cynthia Hamilton as a writer so I felt it was worth a chance. The book was longer than I anticipated but kept my attention well. It was easy to read and a nice story to relax with at night. What surprised me most about this novel was how much I came to like Jake. Going into the storyline I thought for sure he would be the character you love to hate! What was not as surprising was the fact that I can add this to the list of books I enjoyed by Cynthia Hamilton. If you haven’t checked out her writing yet, why not start here?

Secure Desire by R. L. Dunn is not your typical romance story. R. L. Dunn wrote characters that were believable and lovable. This story takes you on a journey with Chase and Cassie. Be prepared because it is a roller coaster ride but it is worth all the emotions that come along with the story. When you are a soldier like Chase and have some lingering feel about your tour in Afghanistan your everyday life seems so different. Chase came back to get in the security business with his brother and did not expect to run into his love interest, Cassie from 6 years ago. A lot has happened in the six-year in both of their lives. I had to go and read Composed, An Ask Park Novel because I read all of the other books. Meghan O’Flynn does an amazing job grabbing me from page one until the last word. Her plotlines often mirror-like a roller coaster. It has twists and turns that keep you on your toes. It is very important that you keep your eyes and mind focused on the book. Meghan gives enough clues to see what is coming. I know I had to reread parts of the same page because I missed a clue. Her characters are important. They have very important roles in the book. I highly recommend you read the other stories first so that you will understand the character development. In this story, Petrosky is back and he is trying to find a killer. There may be a serial killer on the loose. Has Petrosky met his match? Will he find the killer and protect who he thinks is the next one to be killed? I highly recommend this story to find out the answers to these questions and more.

The story Remember My Name (Remember My Name Series Book 1) by Laurencia Hoffman is a Romantic Suspense book. It is a story that had me hooked from the very beginning. The main characters in the story are Shane Coulter and Callan Reid. Shane is a character that I could empathize with. He hides his true self and the darkness by pushing everyone that he loves and that loves him away. He is in such pain that it hurt my heart to read about how he sees and feels about himself. Callan is a man that wants to help Shane and refuses to leave even when Shane tells him to go. He is a kind soul who doesn’t understand why Shane acts the way that he does. This is an emotional story and I found my emotions going up and down the enter time I was reading it. The book has heartbreaking moments. It also gives you a front seat view of Shane’s behavior and how he feels about himself. Don’t miss out on a story that includes romance, suspense, and mysterious happenings. I would highly recommend reading it.

Enchanted Passion. (The Protector Series. Book 4) by Toya Richardson.
Loved it. I was really looking forward to this next book in The protector series and it did not let me down. Watching the growing relationship between Luna and Rhys, is so heartwarming the forbidden “lovers” you see Luna is a part of the Protector community while Rhys is a Elemental, elementals and protectors are not supposed to fall in love. This whole series is a must read, a fantasy romance at its best. You’ll fall in love which each and every character and just keep wanting more. Another great read, well done Toya.

This was a MM romance and thriller, and I found Shane and Callan to be strong characters that really held the story together. Shane Coulter is hiding some dark and twisted secrets and the only person who ever saw beyond his smart mouth and abrasive attitude to the vulnerability beneath was Callan Reid, his first love. Callan is convinced that Shane’s tough image is just that, and believing that he has suffered badly in his past Callan wants to uncover the truth. However Shane would rather the past stayed in the past and that his secrets remain secrets. In digging up Shane’s past Callan unwittingly brings danger into both their lives as there are people who are willing to kill to prevent Shane’s truths coming out. This was a story about secrets and how the past affects the present and future, but it was also about first love. Shane and Callan were great characters as they were likeable and relatable but also realistic with their flaws. The storyline flowed well and the plot had enough drama and twists in it that it kept me gripped from beginning to end. The author really made me feel immersed in Shane and Callan’s story and I found myself thinking about the characters long after I had finished the book.

This is my first book by this author, I enjoyed it from beginning to end. I look forward to reading more from this author in the future. This is a mystery thriller story that kept me turning pages to the end. I enjoyed being pulled in right from the beginning and made to feel as if I was right there in the story. I had no problems connecting with the characters as they brought on the twists and turns. They made the story easy to read and enjoyable. This is a story about hidden secrets from the past and those who will stop at nothing to prevent them from getting out. There are consequences but will they turn deadly? Are some things better off left in the past? Callan and Shane are great characters that made the story believable. They are strong and supportive and really made the story for me. I highly recommend this book.

Wow. What an enchanting world Pippa J. Frost has created with House of Illusions. She’s not only got a way with words that made my prose loving heart happy, but she created such a beautiful world that I just wasn’t ready to leave when the end came. The prologue had me hooked and by the time I was a few chapters in, I couldn’t stop devouring this adventure. There are so many enchanted creatures in this book, and Frost made it entirely believable that humans live alongside them. I so wish this had been a series instead of a stand-alone just to see more of the characters and magic. This is getting added to my re-read list so I can explore all the “Illusions” with eyes wide open.

Finders Reapers: A Paranormal Romantic Comedy by Carrie Pulkinen is the fourth book in the New Orleans Nocturnes series. This is a brilliant series and each book that comes along just seems to get better and better. Right from the start I found this book to be highly entertaining! I loved the main characters and the chemistry between them. It felt like such fun between them and it is what kept me reading this book with rapt attention. As usual the author has written an amazing book. It had a bit of everything in that you could want and was one of those books that I could not put down. I would highly recommend this whole series and I can’t wait to see what else this author will produce.

Shattered by Lisa Woods is the first book in the Rhodes Family series. This is a great start to this series as it introduces you to the family and to the authors way of writing. I enjoyed reading about the characters of Gabe and Olivia. You could tell they had a strong connection between them which drew me in to their story. I liked the way the author wrote about them too. It didn’t feel like your typical romance story it actually felt like that was a deeper story happening. I became invested in the characters and I enjoyed the secondary characters introduced, especially those we might get to read about in future books. This is overall a great book and a strong way to start a new series. I am looking forward to what else is to come.

I must say I am struggling a tad with exactly where or how I want to place this book on a star scale. I have never had the pleasure of reading anything R.L. Dunn prior to Secure Desire so I was completely new all of her writing style. Dunn has one hell of a knack for detailed writing. While I loved that most of the time I felt like I was right there with the characters and in the moment I could have done without some of it sometimes. It felt a tad heavy. Only because I wanted to get to the the point and found myself several times confused in the novel. There is immaculate research done clearly evident as well, but again, I don’t want to feel as if I am in the History Channel.
Bottom line, I adored the story for what it was, and found myself falling in love with Ian and Cassie quickly. I was invested in them from the get-go and was on the edge of my seat wondering how everything was going to turn out for them in the end. Which I must say was quite unpredictable as well! Another fantastic plus. I look forward to checking out more of the Chase Group Stories and whatever else is available or will be to come from R.L. Dunn.

I have never found a Cynthia Hamilton novel I didn’t thoroughly enjoy and Alligators in the Trees is no exception to the rule. I loved this one and the adventure it took me on to New York City. I wasn’t sure with a title like Alligators in the Trees what we would be getting but this was a deep, thought provoking read that drew me in right from the start until the very last page.
We meet Priscilla, the main connecting point of three main characters, and the seedy dive bar style coffee shop she works at in New York. She herself has a life she wishes could be better in a lot of ways but when Tobias and Phil walk into the shop things will take off in ways she never expected. Both Phil and Tobias have dark pasts that are currently haunting them and making it difficult to move forward in their lives. They will all have to work hard at their own lives to move forward and the journey is one you won’t want to miss out on following. I am also excited to hear there will be more of this novel in a sequel and I am so here for it.

I didn’t know what exactly I was getting myself into with EverMarked, but I knew I had to see what it was all about after spotting a few teasers and that fab cover art. I am new to AJ Eversley’s work but this was a perfect introduction. EverMarked is the first book in a new dystopian series from Eversley and is one that will keep you glued to the edge of your seat all the way up until the cliffhanger that will have you begging for book two NOW.
The idea of the ‘marked kids’ is a good one but is brought to life with the characters of Sienna and Jayla. Sienna has spent her whole life wanting to escape and be done with the orphanage she lives in for the marked kids. Her way out is to fight in the Underground but there is so much more that she is about to find in her path to freedom. This book will keep you guessing and wanting to know what will happen before it gets there. I can’t wait to see what unfolds in book two!

This is a new to me author but the moment I saw the cover I knew I had to see what the story was that laid behind it. Rose by Any Other Name is the tenth book in The Sisters, Texas Series, but honestly I was able to read it as a stand alone just fine. I can tell this may be one to go back and see what the previous books are all about though after finishing this one. This is one of those feel good reads with having some mystery and intrigue binding it all together reads that I just couldn’t put down. The mystery busting the girls in this novel is someone has put a dead body in Granny Bert’s fridge, but who did it and why is the real conundrum. The rest is for you to read and see how things play out, but I can assure you this is one the mystery reader won’t wanna miss out on.
