My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Simply Irresistible: A Totally Sweet Love Story by Jennifer L Allen is exactly that a sweet romance story that makes you feel good. This story was fun and made me laugh as well, it is a slow burn tale that was set at just the right pace. This is one of my favorites by Jennifer and the characters are lovable but strong. It is a heartwarming romance and I enjoyed watching the relationship grow. This is a quick and easy read the geeky characters are very realistic and relatable.

Melanie has always dreamed of becoming a fashion designer and is working in a magazine that will hopefully get her there. Tyler work for the same company but in another branch and hates his job. Tyler finally gathers the courage to ask her out but things don’t go as planned.

Will they find their HEA and make their dreams come true or will their love of different era’s keep them apart ? I highly recommend this book.

This is book three in the fantastic series that kept me on the edge of my seat throughout the whole series. Aiden and Lorelei are the main characters and they are great. They were likeable and I felt like I was right there with them experiencing the ups and the downs. They have big choices to make in this book and we get find out if the choices made and the place they’re staying at will makes eternity worth living or will it all crash and burn?
This book was a great conclusion for the series and i thought the authors did an awesome job with the ending. I am looking forward to reading more by these authors!

Epic. I’m sitting here speechless and completely unsure how I can process that Mellett has brought this series to a close. But what a way to wrap it up. This book and series are absolutely a must read. Heart wrenching, ugly crying, emotionally draining, and simply beautiful in all of the mess. The characters jumped off the pages and I just was riveted. From beginning to end … I simply couldn’t put it down. Simply amazing!

Some I’ve read and there is a few that I haven’t but plan to. With that being said I’m doing my review on Sugar & Spice ( Spicetopia #1) by Phoebe Alexander. I don’t even know where to start other than I freaking love this Author she brings the right amount of “naughty “ to her stories. Her style of writing is amazing and I have the hardest time putting it down once I start reading. Her characters are very well developed and easily relatable and sassy. This story is steamy and very hot.The two main characters have a definite attraction to each other and their chemistry is crazy. Then there’s Colleen the boss what’s not to love about her. Find out what happens next in this must read.

I read sugar & Spice by Phoebe Alexander and I always expect great things from Phoebe Alexander and this book was no exception. I loved the characters of Cy and Jolie. I enjoyed the growth and change if Cy’s character through the story. I was also happy to see Jolie open up. This was an excellent story that touched on different issues and gave us all the feels all at the same time. Let’s not forget the moments that made the temperature rise. I don’t want to give anything away, so I will just say that this book was a wonderful read and you don’t want to miss out. This author never disappoints! I highly recommend this book.

A super sweet romance that discusses the age old battle of movies (are movies from the 80s better than the 90s – the answer is yes). OK so that’s not the point of the story, but I wanted to weigh in on the debate…

This story is told in dual POV with banter and well defined characters. The story moves at a great pace and kept me engaged from beginning to end.

This is a wonderful tale that I will be recommending to an older friends’ bookclub.

There’s nothing I can say about this amazing author that others haven’t said already. She’s amazing and all of her stories just suck you in and take you on a journey.

This one just knocked it out of the park (pun intended lol).
We meet Cy, who has to go undercover in the family business and find out who is behind some secret meetings.
We then meet Jolie, who was just amazing and strong.
These two were great and the development between them was fun to watch.

This collection is amazing and a great read. I am reviewing Sugar & Spice by Phoebe Alexander.

Phoebe Alexander did it again. She has the knack of giving you more than you can even imagine in her stories. Sugar & Spice is no different. Alexander has this unique ability to take her characters and make you feel like you are right there feeling everything they feel. Her characters are fully developed and are complicated just enough to make them real for me. She creates a world that I have been there before and want to go back as soon as possible. This story is about Cy and Jolie. Cy was put in place to work at his family’s child theme park as an undercover boss. Cy picks Jolie out immediately and knew he needed to meet her. Jolie is the Red Velvet Queen who is trying to keep her job. She is attracted to Cy. She is trying to play it on the down low. There are secrets that need to be uncovered and through Alexander’s story telling they eventually come out in the open. Will the future hold a place for Cy and Jolie together? One will have to read this story to find out.

By: Jennifer L. Allen
My Rating: 4 of 5 stars

Simply Irresistible: A Totally Sweet Love Story by Jennifer L. Allen as fun sweet read that had me hooked.

This book was a perfect slow lazy summer read that was relaxing, entertaining and funny. It was well written, detail and has this nice cheesy tone that you can’t help but get it pulled into.

I liked that it was told in dual POV, so we got the funess from both sides. That added such a nice element that I couldn’t even pick a favourite POV. Both MC’s are strong and well developed. I loved their interactions and banter. It was natural, engaging, and it had this nice realistic growth that you couldn’t help but smile at. This book really got me in the warm and fuzzy feels. On a whole this read has many familiar elements as any romcom, but also has this freshness that hooks you and blows the normal cliché’s out of the water.

Overall this book is worth your time, energy and feels. So please take my super high recommendation and my stamp of approval, that this book will put a smile on your face, and leave you wanting more.

Happy Reading

I love anthologies that have stories of variety and lengths. It makes it easy to put down and pick up in between adulting.

Sugar & Spice by Phoebe Alexander is like “Undercover Boss” and “Norma Rae” all rolled up into a quick and witty read. I grew up going to a small, family owned amusement park and that’s where this story took place in my mind.

It has romance and sexy times and redemption. It is a great addition to the anthology.

Legacy of Luck (The Druid’s Brooch Series Book 3) by Christy Nicholas – Review by Francis O’Sullivan

Legacy of Luck (Druid's Brooch #3)Legacy of Luck by Christy Nicholas
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Legacy of Luck is the third book in Christy Nicholas’ Druid’s Brooch Series. It’s a fascinating series that I’ve been really enjoying. Each book focuses on a character in a different point in (predominantly Irish) history who inherits a brooch, passed down through the generations, and with it gains some magical powers. I love the glimpses into history, and the way the story unfolds throughout time.
In Legacy of Luck, the heir to the brooch is Éamonn. A traveller with a knack for gambling with dice, Éamonn is desperate to save fellow traveller Katie from an arranged marriage she hasn’t consented to. He has to discover how to use his powers to help him on his quest, and how to do so safely.
There are lots of good characters in this story – I particularly like Éamonn’s brother Ruari as he is kind and loyal and uninterested in the romantic drama that takes over most of the other characters. I also like Turlough with his gift for music.
In this book there is a fair bit of violence and domestic abuse, particularly in Katie’s story. It is addressed sensitively and is a relevant part of the story, but at times it is quite graphic and can come unexpectedly.
For me, this is a five star book. I enjoy the series, and this is a great addition to it! The books do not need to be read in order, and indeed the series order doesn’t follow the chronological order of the time periods that the books are set. So I’ve been reading them in a fairly random order and enjoying the story that way! If you’re particularly interested in Irish travellers or 18th Century history, this might be a good place to start.

With a title like Sugar and Spice, and Phoebe Alexander as the author, I knew this would get delicious.
Jolie and Cy have an instant attraction but as they work together at a family amusement park, things can get a little dicey what with the fraternization and such. Jolie’s attraction also brings up guilt since spending time with Cy would take time away from her boys. Cy has a secret that could threaten the budding romance he can’t ignore.
I’m excited this is the start of a new series so I’m hoping it’s a long one and we get more of these characters.

Sugar and Spice (Spicetopia #1) by Phoebe Alexander caught my attention when I grabbed this collection. The title, of course, led me to be curious about the story to come. I have read other books by this author and was excited to get another of her stories. This is the start of a series that centers around an adult theme park cast-off remotely. The son of the owners is working as regular crew when he meets The Red Velvet Queen. He is working as a regular staff member despite his family. What will transpire between himself and the Queen?
The story is entertaining and fun. I also enjoyed the characters. I also enjoyed the setting of the story. This series could be quite interesting because the setting will lead to some interesting scenarios. I look forward to reading more in this collection and catching more of Phoebe Alexander’s books in the future.

This is my first book by this author, I enjoyed it with every page I turned. I was pulled in right from the first page. This story is written like it is two different stories, one in the past, Meg and the other in the present, Liz. This was done with ease and I didn’t get lost, I was able to keep up with the story. The characters are great, they made the story seem real. What will Liz learn about herself and will it change her forever? I highly recommend reading Liz and Meg’s stories.

Trouble in Mind (Interstellar Rescue Series Book 2) by Donna S. Frelick – Review by Angela Hayes

Trouble in Mind (Interstellar Rescue, #2)Trouble in Mind by Donna S. Frelick
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Trouble in Mind is the second book in the Interstellar Rescue Series by Donna S. Frelick. This is sci-fi romance at its best. With danger, action, adventure, drama, intrigue, sinister forces, hidden agendas, spaceships, alien beasts, secrets, puzzles, emotion, and so much more. I am so addicted to this series, and Ms. Frelick’s writing- she’s definitely on my must read list.
I loved that we got to meet new characters, as well as catch up with some stars from the other books. This is Alana and Gabriel’s story- but Asia and Ethan from book one also play significant parts in this book too. Sam and Rayna (secondary character’s from book #1, and MC’s in Book #3) also contribute to the story. I loved this aspect to the book- how there are such clever interconnected details all woven together into a spellbinding story!
Brilliant!

Thank you, Ms. Frelick!

Sweetest Obsessions a contemporary romance box set with 25 tantalizing and sexy romance stories by some very talented authors. I have only read a couple of the stories so far but will be going back to read the rest.

Sugar and Spice by Phoebe Alexander:

Is a sweet romance story where being born with a silver spoon in your mouth is not always a good thing and being a single mom with nothing can be everything.

Whilst working undercover Cy discovers there is more going on than meets the eye and the truth about his family is brought to light. But the one thing he does find is something he never wanted but can’t let it go.

Jolie works hard to provide for her family but being a single mom can take its toll.

You will be holding your breath to see what happens but in oh so very different ways. Grab a copy, you know you want to.

Legacy of Luck: Druid’s Brooch Series: #3
By Christy Nicholas
Legacy of Luck is the third book in the Druid’s Brooch series by Christy Nicholas. This series are the only books I have read by this author and I have to say I have not been disappointed, Christy has a way of writing that really grabs you and makes you want to keep reading just to see what is happening. The thing I like about Legacy of luck is the story doesn’t start with a bang, it slowly builds up and in my opinion gives a chance of getting to the characters much better. It’s good to read another book with a female character as a main, but also making her a strong character enhanced the story. In this book we have romance and action a plenty. This book can also be read as a stand alone with ease. I highly recommend that this series is read, like me you will enjoy it I am sure.

Undercover (Billionaire Bodyguards Book 2)Undercover by Via Mari
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Undercover by Via Mari is the second book in the Billionaire Bodyguards series. We finally get Matt’s story. I fell hard for Matt when he was protecting Jenny in The Torzial Affair series and that love has only grown since then.

Marenah is also a not new character if you read Sasha and Jay’s story. She is so much more than I expected her to be, which goes to show that first impressions aren’t always right. She has a knack for finding trouble and wanting to fix it.

Matt and Marenah are a hot couple. Their attraction is instantaneous and of the charts. There were a few time I had to put the book down to catch my breath.

I have been fortunate enough to read the two other series that this series is spun from so I know who everyone is and how they are all connected.

I highly recommend this book and series. Can’t wait to see who is next.

Phoebe Alexander has done it again! I absolutely loved Sugar & Spice. This is book 1 in a new series from Phoebe Alexander and can’t wait to see what else is to come to this series. This book was amazing, it was so good that i read it in one sitting! I was captivated, entranced and totally compelled reading it. It had romance & sexiness, it had emotions and secrets. I loved our two main characters Cy a.k.a Marcus and Jolie. I loved following their journey, reading their connection and chemistry develop and just getting to know each other. It was an instant connection with passion and romance. It was written in the best way as-well as we got each characters POV, It really helped us to get to know them, and what their real thoughts and feelings are.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book is perfect! The title not only fits each main Character but it fits them together. They are Simply Irresistible! Each their love of 80’s/90’s movies and music that sparks more than One heated debate. I have so many highlighted passages it’s crazy! Here is one example:

Tyler is trying to date Melanie exclusive and he says this
“Wanna feel my shirt? It’s made of boyfriend material 🙂 “

ha ha ha I chuckled at this so hard. This is just the tip of the iceberg! There are so many more cute passages either said by Tyler or Melanie. I don’t even want to mention what they say when texting each other. Again..so many highlighted passages.

This is a first time author for me. I loved her creative ideas in this book. The story flowed so easily and i was quickly turning pages to see what was going to be said next. The characters were fun and wildly imaginative. Even the secondary characters were flirty and heartwarming. This is a wonderful feel good story that had me smiling and chuckling while reading. It will be a great re-read for when I want that sweet romance.

OH MYLANTA! This contains 25 books from some of you already favorite authors, and I am sure plenty of new ones to discover. I have since started and finished several others that I just adore. I personally will be enjoying many hours of fun and beautiful stories of love from some fabulous authors. I will include a bit more about Phoebe’s addition to the series below, but be sure to check out all of the books and scoop this gem up as soon as you possibly can!

Sugar & Spice is actually the kickoff of a new series, Spicetopia, from Phoebe Alexander. I can tell that this one will be another one of those I will obsess over as each new book in the series releases. I loved how this was written with the same igniting passion and pizazz that I have come to expect from Alexander, yet it was something new and fresh from her all at the same time. Jolie and Cy were wonderful main characters with dimension and history that makes them vivid and believable to the reader. I loved how these two complimented each other and also had the perfect chemistry to keep the reading witty as well. I personally can’t wait to see what will unfold in the coming books. I am sure it will be just as, if not more so, fabulous than this one!

Guilty Pleasures Volume 3: Guilty Pleasures by Joyce McCarthy – Review by Liz Vrchota

Guilty Pleasures Volume 3Guilty Pleasures Volume 3 by Joyce McCarthy
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Guilty Pleasures Volumes from Joyce McCarthy are just that, my guilty pleasure reads. I always know I am in for a hot and steamy reading session whenever I pick up one of these novels. I have read the books in order, and recommend that you do as well for the maximum enjoyment of the series. These are short quickie reads of Brad and his various sexual encounters. So, with that said yes, this book is steamy and contains content that the reader would enjoy if they prefer an erotic fiction novel. If that isn’t your cup of tea I wouldn’t recommend you read this. However, if it is your thing, these books are fabulous options. I love how each of the stories stick to twenty or so pages, so it is enough to wet your palate but not overwhelm you with details. I prefer to read these is spurts before bed each evening when I choose these types of collections. This being volume three we are all aware that Brad enjoys several of the taboo subjects that most are afraid to admit they like, let alone detail. Not the case here as Brad shares all about it from his international flight tryst to the kinkiest of threesomes. Every moment is fun and done with class that isn’t so easy to do. I personally can’t wait to get my hands on the next set of stories.

The following are the titles of each included in this volume…

-My First Time With a Hooker (#1) – Brad and Betsy
-The Hottie from the Mall (#2) – Brad and Amanda
-Naughty in the Train (#3) – Brad and Joanna
-Wedding Fun (#4) – Brad and Susan
-My Hot Summer Training (#5) – Brad and Jackie

Trouble in Mind (Interstellar Rescue Series Book 2) by Donna S. Frelick – Review by Liz Vrchota

Trouble in Mind (Interstellar Rescue, #2)Trouble in Mind by Donna S. Frelick
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I will be the first to admit that I don’t normally pick up the sci-fi novels by first choice. Usually, when I read them it is because the author has done a fantastic job of grabbing me into needing to read the story with the cover and blurb on the storyline. Trouble in Mind is no different of a situation. I had to know what would happen behind the cover that graces Trouble in Mind. I am glad that I did. I did struggle just a tad with the beginning but once I found my footing among the main characters of Trouble in Mind I was soon swept away in the adventure and intrigue that plague them.

In Trouble in Mind we find Jack, Asia, and Jack on a picnic where things go terribly wrong. Asia and Jack find themselves the victims of a kidnapping and Ethan is badly beaten by the assailants. Things only get worse when Ethan becomes the prime suspect. Special FBI agent Alana Matheson, Lana, works together with the telepathic, Gabriel Cruz. Will they be able to find Ethan’s wife and child safely while clearing Ethan’s name? This book really has it all, romance, drama, crime, and adventure and vivid world descriptions that will sweep you away with the story to a far galaxy. I personally can’t wait to get my hands on the next installment in the series, Fools Rush In.
