The Mourning Islands by Douglas Wells is a book well worth reading. I have to say that this is not what I would normally pick to read but I am so glad that I went out of my norm, had I not I would have missed a beautifully written story. This book is going to take you on a journey that has a lot of layers, these layers for me anyway are suspense, mystery and a little romance. That’s enough to make the story well worth reading right? Well throw in twists and turns throughout the book, you won’t be able to turn the page quick enough to see what is happening next. I highly recommend you read this book; you won’t be disappointed.

SPEECHLESS…this story left me speechless with my HEART pounding! It’s so so GOOD!
This is not just a romantic story! It is so much more! I really feel as though I am going through this with Layla. (Love her name Btw) Her courage, awkwardness, insecurities and at times her loneliness all got to me. I can see why so many people are giving this all the stars! This is simply outstanding! I usually don’t go for book with too much realism. Because it’s a book and I want to escape. But this one just touched my heartstrings.
Kellan was simply wonderful! I want every man to be like him! Kind, thoughtful and sexy all rolled into one package. He does and says the most wonderful thing to and for Layla in this story. I love his never give up attitude!
The secondary characters deserve a mention. Her parents…well her mother drove me crazy..she almost seemed like a “real” mom. But Even crazy has its reasons. Let’s talk Russell! I almost love Russell as much as I do Kellan!! Best brother ever! Check! Best friend ever! Check! Full of humor and love for his family! Check! check! There is Nothing not to like about this man!
This isn’t my first book by this author but I think it’s her best that I have read by her. This is a little different from what she usually writes but like I said….better! This hits a lot of nails right on the head. Nothing is shy-ed away from. It’s perfect and I wouldn’t hesitate to highly recommend to women and men. Very lovely and touching!

The story Too Hot to Handle (The Catch Series Book 3) by Avery Scott is a book that I loved reading. It hooks you in from the beginning and I found myself not wanting to put it down until I had read the final page. I loved the characters of Georgia “Gigi” Sinclair and Tony. Georgia is a woman who is successful in her social media feed. She is smart and sassy. She is also determined to win back the boyfriend that has called off their engagement. Tony is a firefighter. He finds himself drawn to Georgia, he can’t stop thinking of her. What does the future hold for Georgia? Is one of the two men her perfect match? Read this book to find out. I grew to care about what happened to Georgia and Tony with each chapter that I read. There is emotional dialogue. There are additional characters that were introduced and some of them I enjoyed reading about. There are also those that I found to have their own agenda and didn’t care about how their words or actions affected others. There are romantic moments included. I enjoyed reading about the interactions and bantering that goes on between Georgia and Tony. The author does a wonderful job in making both the storyline and characters come alive. I would highly recommend reading this book.

BECKONED, Part 6: Adrift in New Zealand by Aviva Vaughn Is the final installment in the Beckoned series. This series and this book specifically has been a roller coaster of emotions. The characters in this book are so well written and developed that you feel like you are in the story with them. This author really has a way with keeping you hooked from the first page, and never wanting to put it down. I’m sad this series is over, but looking forward to what the author will do next. Great read and great finale.I give this book a solid 5 stars.

Loved it and need more ASAP! Seriously so much packed into these pages. I am a sucker for a fairy tale and even more so if it’s a reimagined take on a classic. It felt relatable and authentic and just fantastic. I was immediately transported into the story and didn’t want to leave. I cannot wait to continue reading the series.

This paranormal shifter book was an enjoyable read. Some predictive plot developments and some unexpected twists. A very natural ebb and flow between the main characters. A good book to enjoy on a lazy afternoon. If you enjoy shifter romances, pick this one up.

This is the first book that I have read by this author and I enjoyed it. It is a paranormal story that kept me flipping page after page. The main characters are what make this story a good one. I just couldn’t help but like Zander and Chloe. They had amazing chemistry and I was eager to see where their story was headed. I am looking forward to reading more books by this author and I would recommend this to a friend.
What an amazing book! Dragons, paranormal, soul mates, fantasy… it had me riveted from beginning to end. It felt very complete with lots of thoughtful detail that allowed the reader to dive deep into this universe whether reading as a stand-alone or in series order. The characters were richly outlined and relatable. Definitely a recommended read!
I am familiar with this style of writing because I subscribe to several authors who write continuing stories in their newsletters. I find it a very enjoyable way to read because I still get to read a full story with way less pressure in the timing to finish.
The first episode of this serial had great world building. In this world, there does not seem to be a patriarchy because the women are so strong and have leadership roles. “I’ve always had a hard time seeing the woman I’d become who was so different than what I’d always pictured as a child.”
This story is filled with magic and friendships and hellhounds and war.
I absolutely will be following this author so I am alerted to each new episode.

Too Hot to Handle by Avery Scott is the third book in The Catch series. This can be read as a standalone. Georgia has hit a bump in the dating scene and had an accident that requires the assistance of a fireman. In comes Tony to the rescue. Will the sparks explode between the two of them? I enjoyed the dialogue between Georgia and Tony. They have an interesting chemistry because they do not seem to be a match especially in the eyes of Georgia but there is a draw between them. I also really thought the story was fun. I really liked the characters were being given second chances. I will be going back to catch the others in the series because I would like to see more of the other characters and see the other stories.

Out of the Box Collection that features Out of the Box Awakening, Out of the Box Regifted and Out of the Box Everlasting was a 5+ read. My emotions were all over the place and I needed several kleenex to make it through.
We start with Olivia moving to Chicago to be with her husband who just transferred for work. When she gets there his friend Ash is the one who picks her up. And of course her husband conveniently seems to be out of town, alot. She starts to see a side to Ash that is something that she never had with her husband, they enjoy each others company but never cross a line. When Olivia gets some devastating news, Ash is there for her. Can there possibly be a future for these two?
As we move forward through all three books we see so many different levels of life experiences with twists and turns. There is tragedy and some hidden secrets that resurface. I really was rooting for Olivia to find the happiness that she truly deserved and Ash tugged at my heartstrings. All of the secondary characters were great, I loved all the kids and the band members. I did not care for Olivia’s husband and his actions. This story really makes you think about things as you are getting older. You don’t realize how much you rely on some people until they are no longer there and you are left trying to rebuild. The details of the story were amazing and pulled me right in. Having all three books at once was great, I didn’t have to wait to find out what was coming next. If you’re looking for a great second chance romance series, this is a must read. I highly suggest 1-clicking and getting started as soon as you can.

Too Hot to Handle (The Catch Series Book 3) by Avery Scott is a romantic comedy that continues with overlapping characters from previous books in the series. You can absolutely read this story separately, but I would encourage you to read the other books to get a more thorough sense of some of the amazing supporting characters. In Too Hot to Handle, this story had me laughing at some of the character hi-jinks to wanting to hug them or smack them on the head for some of their behaviors. Each of these brought a well rounded edge to the story and made it come full circle! Georgia feels like a lost individual during some parts of the story, but watching her come into her own and figuring out dynamics was well paced in the book. Then Tony, whew, talk about a hottie come to laugh. He gave this story just wanted it needed pairing up against Georgia’s softer character. I love Avery Scott’s writing and I think this is definitely my favorite from the series!

Beckoned, Part 6: Adrift in New Zealand by Aviva Vaughn is the final book in the series. I have not read any of the other books. I feel like this book was good but I should have read the others in the series to get the full effect. I thought the writing was great and I enjoyed the characters. I was surprised at how much I liked it. Overall it was a fun read and hope I get to read others some day. 4 star rating.

Salty Sebastian (Smirk Series book 3) by Jen Luerssen is a contemporary romance/comedy that will knock your socks off. If you haven’t read a book by this author, you are absolutely in for a treat and this particularly story is a deliciously salty addition. The characters in this story overlap with ones that appeared earlier in the series. However, you can read this as a stand alone. The characters are a riot, highly entertaining and will constantly have you wondering what is going to fall out of their mouths next. Sebastian is an amazing and I just wanted to hug him in half of this story, then Kit is just a spicy addition that makes you want to lather them up together to find out what kind of combination you get with them. Hilarious, great writing and will having you laughing throughout!

Wrath is the first book in the Deadliest Sin Series by Gwyn McNamee. This short novella is different from any other book that I have read by Ms. McNamee. This dark and dangerous romance had me hooked from the very first page and I couldn’t put it down until the last. This book started and ended with love, but everything in the middle was ruled by vengeance, ruthlessness and revenge. All I’m going to say about this story is, Ms. McNamee is a great bringer of Wrath. I can’t wait to read the next installment of this story.

Out of the Box Collection by Jennifer Theriot includes three romantically themed novels in this series. This was an enchanting set of stories that pull you into the depth of the stories and the development of the characters from the beginning. Highs and lows are bundled within the story line and take the reader on an emotional charged journey. The story flows effortlessly from the first to the second book and then to the final and third story. I absolutely enjoyed the characters as they battled through obstacles and circumstances working towards where they each ultimately come to within the final story. Beautifully written by a talented author.

Beachcomber Enemy by Stephanie Queen 4 out of 5 stars Beachcomber Enemy is a Romantic Thriller/ suspenseful drama and it book 10 in the Beachcomber Investigations series written by Stephanie Queen. This is the second book in this series that I have read with an explosive beginning, it grabbed me right away! And the tension and surprises just kept coming. Ms. Queen did a great job in this storyline. Dane Blaise& Shana George are private investigators and barely escape the attempt on their lives. Dane insists they need go on the run as ghosts to track down their killers. It’s the best way he knows how to protect Shana from harm. While Shana is uneasy with the plan. Something doesn’t feel right about it’s, as if their killer knows they’re still alive and Dane & Shana are playing into his hands. Should she defy Dane’s plan? They need to find out who is out to get them. Dane assumes it’s an enemy from his past but is it? Can Shana forgive Dane for the secrets? Will Dane come clean to Shana about the secrets his is keeping from her? The characters are amazing and well written the plot was great and im going to have to read the other books in this series…. I can not think of a better early birthday gift than the release of the final book in the Beckoned series. I can not even begin to describe to you how invested I am in these books. I’ve read several books over the past two years and this series, Aviva Vaughn’s writing has stuck with me significantly. Beckoned: Adrift in New Zealand brings us to the end of Soren’s journey. When I began the Beckoned series from very beginning, Soren was not a character I was deeply invested in, I am so thankful that the series continued to show us his story and the character growth that he experiences throughout the pages. I’ve probably said it close to a million times but there is a quality in Aviva Vaughn’s writing that is almost poetic, it touches just about every emotion I have. I truly look forward to reading more from this author. She’s crafted another five star read.

Shattered ( The Torzial Affair Book 1) is the first book in The Torzial Affair series is a book that once you start reading you will not want to put it down till the last page. I’ve read other books and series by this Author. There may be some triggers for some people in this book. We met Jenny in the Prestian Series and know we get her story.This is Jenny and Brian story. She owns a consulting firm, she’s very dedicated to her business. But she’s secretly dealing with some emotional scars. Then she meets Brian who doesn’t do relationships until he meets Jenny. These two are definitely attracted to each other. Both are in each other’s thoughts. I found myself a emotional mess at times. They were all over the place . Find out what happens next. Can Brian and Jenny have a future together? I highly recommend this book. I can’t wait to read the next Book in this series.

Jake the Growling Dog was a sweet Book. Everyone Jake tried to play with all went away scared and thought he was a mean dog because he growled at them. Jake wasn’t very mean at all. He wanted to have friends and play with the kids but every time they heard his grrr they quickly left. One day a black squirrel named Neet tried to make Jakes voice sound sweet. Not every dog who growls is mean. He just didn’t know his sounds scared everyone away. This was a quick sweet book showing how everyone is different.

Beckoned: Adrift in New Zealand is part 6 of the series by Aviva Vaughn. Each book should be read in order. Soren had no had the best of luck lately. Between his relationship with Angela and his family issues. He finds himself in Costa Rica where he ends up staying a lot longer then he planned to.
He takes up surfing and gets the perfect tan and surfer body! Elena is an ex pro surfer and she is the one who teaches him. Soren and Elena end up having a relationship that wasn’t planned but when her ex shows up, their relationship is tested. During the book, Soren runs into 2 women he had been attached to in the past. What are the odds he will see both Elena and Lisbet will both come back into his life at the same time. Will Soren’s luck finally make a turn for the better? This was a great ending to a wonderful series. The author did a great job keeping the reader interested throughout the series.

There is a great story here, but I feel as though it’s buried under so much “but wait there’s more” that it just feels over done. I love a good supernatural story and I was excited for this book, but there was just so much going on and it took me so long to wade through it that I honestly just wanted to give up, but I didn’t. It was like the author had fifteen ideas and decided to throw them all into the first five chapters which made it difficult to see the charm of the characters and appreciate the adventure of the story. That being said, I found the base story riveting, the characters enthralling, and I kept reading to see what happened. This may not have been my cup of tea but I think that it is perfect for people who like a lot going on in a story and can keep track of it all.

This is not a first time author for me but this is the first book I have read in this series. I got hooked by the cover. Who doesn’t love a hot fireman story! That is what interested me so I snagged it.
Tony was great! A typical ladies man. Who can never see himself with the same woman night after night. His distaste for his friend Derron is almost comical at times and I knew it would bit me him in the rear eventually. I love how he calls Georgia “peaches”. His idea of a fake relationship with Georgia worked against him. It was sad to see him fall but i was very happy for him while reading his thoughts. Georgia really had personal growth in this story. I felt sorry for her at times when she went to visit her family. I loved that Tony stood up for her. (I think she loved it as well).
This is an easy read that flows very well. I was able to read it in a day because once it got moving I could hardly put it down. Georgia and Tony have ups and downs in their relationship. I really *felt* for them a couple times. I enjoyed getting to read their story.

Secure Again is the second book in the series A Chase Group Story by R. L. Dunn. This author is becoming on my list of authors to read. Her characters are full of life and that I am relationship with them. I know this is true as my husband keeps asking me why I am having a conversation with Elizabeth. Elizabeth is a trauma surgeon who is asked to help keep Martin alive. There is a past relationship that is surfacing and Elizabeth is wondering what is going on with all of the inmates that are coming in. Martin needs to have Elizabeth to keep him alive but how can she when was heartbreak in their relationship. There is mystery, thriller, and romance in the plot line (which is what makes the book worth reading), I cannot wait to read the next story in the series.

Jake the Growling Dog Children’s book About Kindness, Diversity, And Friendship By Samantha Shannon ☆☆☆☆☆ This children’s story is family oriented, and a fun bedtime book.
What a fun story to read to children. It will open up a conversation every family needs I feel it is the perfect story, for what is happening in the world today. Jake is such a caring dog. When he realizes nobody wants to be his friend, because of his growling. He meets a new friend, Neet the Black squirrel. Who helps him find new friends. I can’t say enough about this story.
Samantha Shannon has written the story with family in mind. Not only does she teach a valuable lesson. She introduces a open conversation amongst the families. Her wording is simple enough for children to understand. I love the pictures in the book as well. Just a wonderful story. Thank you Samantha Shannon for writing such a wonderful, serious, and teaching children’s book!

A great read about duty . Zander is an archangel bound by duty to protect world’s from fallen angels. Over time, he spends his days guarding different worlds. Eventually, he ends up on Earth with a family of his own.. When trouble brews and danger lurks, can he protect his family? A great read. Well developed plot with twists and turns that I just couldn’t put down. Well developed characters like Zander torn between duty and his heart or Chloe standing up for herself but kind underneath. Great cast of supporting characters like the kind Tierney or the quiet Jax. I loved the visual detail throughout the novel especially wirh the scenes in Heaven with the floating clouds and grand golden doors for a sense of grandeur and majesty. Or the vivid colours of the wings in blacks and golds and reds bright and bold and beautiful full of detail for a sense of awe and magic. I loved the sense of world building with magical beings with their own society with its rules and laws The use of dates in chapter titles worked well to display how much time passed and was s great addition. The only issue I would raise is that the childlike narrative of Genna didn’t fit to the rest of the novel and distracted from the main narrative. Overall, a great read and I would give it five stars.

This is the third book in this series, I enjoyed it just as much as the previous too if not more. I enjoyed how this story pulled me in right from the start. The characters are connectable, relatable and they seem to just pop off the pages. It is a well written story that kept me turning pages until the end. Georgia thought she had it all until her fiance breaks it off. She is determined to get him back until she meets Tony who just might change her mind. I highly recommend this book.

This story kind of reads like a child’s fairytale but only the adult version. This story has characters that not only pop of the pages but also keep you reading until the last page. Wren has returned home. You would think that it would be a happy return but not so much. Her story is full of magic, nightmares and much more. She is a strong character that is fierce, determined and fights for what she believes in. This is a great book to pick up, no regrets. I highly recommend Wren’s story.

Well I knew I wouldn’t be disappointed as I already have read previous novels from this author but boy oh boy this novel was on a completely different level! It was a stunning love story but it really wasn’t just that it takes you on one hell of a emotional journey heartbreak, pain, fear, trust, and trying to have hope and faith. You will definitely need tissues and lots of them I’m not ashamed to admit that there was more then one occasion where I cried like a baby the tears were streaming down my face. There is a very sensitive topic in this novel but the author wrote about it in an amazing way true talent right there. I feel like after reading this novel it kind of opens your eyes to how cruel life can be but you just have to keep hold of that hope even if it’s just alittle and keep fighting! Wow just amazing!!!
