Checking out this author Kristin Ward for the first time and I gotta say I was impressed not only did this book’s cover fascinate me but the idea was a unique mix of the three sounded like I needed to read it now to see what happens. Even though I’m older than YA, I found it a captivating book. The book weaves a richly detailed fantasy world that is both immersive and original. Ward’s descriptive writing vividly brings the mysterious and dark forest to life, creating a setting that feels both enchanting and foreboding.The plot is well-paced, with a blend of suspense, magical elements, and character development that keeps the reader hooked. The author effectively balances action with moments of introspection. I look forward to reading more from the author .

Back in the Ring is the fourth electrifying installment in The Predator Series. This book delivers a gripping blend of intense action, compelling characters, and a well-crafted plot. Im telling you it’s always a pleasure reading work from this author. The writing is sharp and dynamic, capturing the raw energy of the fights and the personal struggles of the characters with equal skill. The fight scenes are particularly well-executed. That mixed in with Bijou and Noahs character development and their romantic drama add depth to the story, making it more than just a series of high-octane battles. I can’t wait to read the next book. I highly recommend reading this series if you haven’t already.

My son and I always enjoy books about Porter and Midge. We love the rhyming and the colorful pictures. They are educational, while remaining fun. Im not sure where Paws and Pastries falls into the series, but it would be a good first read, since it introduces us to the dogs and their owners. The picture of mom made me laugh, as it looks so much more realistic than the rest of the illustrations. This book is worth its weight, simply due to the recipes included. It is more of a dog treat cookbook, with a little poem/story preceding. We have ingredients for a couple on our list, and plan to try on our pup.

The Crown of Stones Trilogy is one of my favorite reads! I can’t get enough of Ian Troy since the first book. I highly recommend this epic trilogy.
The Crown of Stones: Magic-Price Magic-Price is the first in the trilogy of The Crown of Stones series. This book is a must read, once you get halfway through you will be unable to put it down. It starts out with Ian Troy making a terrible mistake that weighs heavy on his soul. Even though it has been ten years since the tragic event where he took the lives of many. When I first started reading it, I got ‘The Witcher’ vibes due to him having a magic horse, white hair, and set in a similar time period. He is a badass that fights for what he believes is right. After getting further into the story it developed into its own and I was unable to put the book down due to all the revelations. Now to the next book Magic-Scars, as the ending leaves you wanting more.
I highly recommend reading Magic-Price if you love epic high fantasy. Where the main character is not perfect and is trying to atone for his prior sins. There is magic, love, friendship, and forgiveness.

This book is meant only for adults due to the sex scenes and graphic nature of it, they are done extremely well. I loved this book even more than the first book due to feeling a great connection to Troy from the loss of his memories. He keeps trying to do what he believes is right and protect those around him while trying to break the mold he was shoved in. I was shocked towards the end of the book when I believed all hope was lost, I was crushed and cried only to be saved a little towards the end. Now to the last book in the series Magic-Borne.
The Crown of Stone: Magic-Borne Magic-Borne is the third and final book in The Crown of Stones trilogy. Ian Troy is fighting to fix the glimpse into the tragic future that he foresaw five years ahead. As events start playing out like he was foretold he doesn’t know if his presence will be enough to change it. Is his future set-in stone? Will he be enough to stop his father and finally destroy the crown of stones?
This book is even darker than the previous two due to the intensity of the story. The twist and turns had me devouring this book. I loved this epic trilogy and highly recommend it.

Picking Pismo was a new author for me, and I really enjoyed it. The writing is so authentic and I fell in love with the characters. The story is realistic and pulls at your heartstrings. It was romantic without any steamy scenes, which made me enjoy it that much more. I love how the author created a bond between David and Alexis not just David and Claire. The ending was good, the epilogue was a little lacking imo. Took us 5 years into the future but without much added to the closure. I look forward to reading more books by this author, as I genuinely loved her style.

It’s been two years since we meet Jessica in Tequila Midnight. She’s in law school and working as a paralegal. Things are finally calming down with her and her husband Angus. Life is great…until a young girl confides in her that she’s been touched in appropriately by a man in charge of an afterschool program. Jessica is on the prowl to find out more information about this “man” and she will stop at nothing to preserve these precious young ladies. There are twists and turns and at times, you’ll be on the edge of your seat reading how this book ends.
Murder in Prospect is the fifth book in the Eve Sawyer Mystery series. I was drawn to it as I have read and enjoyed the previous book in the series and other stories by this author. Although it is part of a series, it can be enjoyed as a standalone mystery as aside from a few references to earlier adventures it is a fairly self-contained story.
Eve’s friend Bob brings her along to visit Prospect, the town where his late uncle lived. He feels there’s something not quite right about his uncle’s death and Eve’s investigative skills may prove useful. Eve shares Bob’s belief that there is more to the case than meets the eye, and the pair attempt to piece together a bigger picture of Will’s life and death.
This is a captivating mystery with a cast of characters who may or may not be connected with the case. I particularly liked young Serena, who provides some insights that give Eve plenty to think about!
I’d recommend this book to fans of mysteries set in interesting locations – I enjoyed exploring the historic mining town with Eve! It gets four stars from me.

It is so nice to catch up with all the characters from the Rewind series, like a “where are they now” update. My heart aches so much for Adrien and his sister Celeste, their mother is really something, and Adrien struggles so much especially when forced to see her face to face. On the other hand it breaks me that Raphael is struggling emotionally with Adrien and Raphael wanting things Adrien doesn’t. Their brief relationship with Mallory and Eleanor is hot! Enzo is still self conscious about Florian’s relationship with Raphael but, anyone can see how in love Florian is with Enzo. Florian’s mom is a real piece of work as well trying to pull the grandparent card to see Maelis. The rights grandparents have in France are so different than what I grew up with so, I was happy to see Florian gathering all the evidence needed to make sure she does not win. Noah, Yohan and Charlotte still seem to be in a beautiful place together and thriving with their little family. In the end I am happy to see everything working out, not as I expected but, I am satisfied with how everyone’s relationships turned out.
Such a cute book. Animals are amazing and, it is sweet to see CJ and Lora taking care of their pets to go as far as to bake them their own treats. This is a great way to show your love to your animal friends, and to get children involved with taking care of their animals while also trying something new like baking. My favorite part would be all the recipes in the back of the book, I can’t wait to try them on my own pup.

Alchemy of Glass (The Apothecary Series) by Barbara Barnett – Review by Amanda Gray
What I like about this book, is that even the it is the second it a series, it could also stand alone if you had not read the first book. When I choose this as my next read, I did not realize it was the next book in the series to the book I just read, I was pleasantly surprised. I was not ready to let go of the fascinating tale and characters just yet. Barnett does a superb job at building this tale and the multiple times within it. I have always been a fan of historical fiction, not so much of fantasy, in the fantasy world built here, I was sucked into the story, the characters, the history, that I did not give a second thought to fantasy novels not being my jam. It was a highly enjoyable read and I look forward to what is next from Barbara Burnett. Grab both books, you will not regret it!

Murder in Prospect revolves around Eve, an amateur sleuth, who is drawn to a murder case while on a spring break. Her friend Bob is grieving the death of his uncle, who is supposed to have died because of natural causes, but Eve smells something fishy. She puts on her sleuth cap and journalism skills into action and starts digging into this murder mystery. As the case becomes difficult, another murder occurs and now it’s a race against time for Eve to solve the mystery and stop more people from dying. I love the cozy mystery genre; this book was a very breezy read. I look forward to reading more in this series.

Hooked: The Merciless Few (The Merciless Few Series) by S Courtney. I am loving this MC Romance series. I highly recommend reading them in order to get a better understanding of the characters and storyline. This is Fiend aka Jett’s story and he’s a hard headed, hard hearted or wants us to believe he is and he’s made a lot of mistakes but will he be able to get over his own past to have a brighter future? Fiend knows he’s gone down a bad road with a lot of bad decisions and he also feels like he’s not worthy of being loved. When he meets Poppy who comes banging on the MC’s door for help he feels like she might be worth letting down some of those walls but first he has to protect her from her crazy brother. Poppy has always had a thing for the bad boys but she the more she gets to know Fiend the more she knows he’s not a bad guy. She didn’t want to drag him into her crazy family mess but she already has and now she may lose him forever. Will Fiend be able to keep Poppy safe and keep his heart safe? Read this fast paced MC romance to find out!

I love the box set with all three books! I tend to binge read, so whenever I have a series all together like this, I’m in a happy place. Does this series take place in the far past, or the far future? Who cares! The emotions of the characters ring true either way. This was a good 4 star read. This is a YA romance so there is some immaturity in places but I did enjoy the story. Paige is a busy woman, and when she meets Viktor there is potential. But will the ex and the other drama in her life get in the way? Overall I enjoyed this read. The author does a good job with her writing. This was a good, quick read for me. The story flowed nicely and kept the reader engaged. The characters worked well together within the story. The main character always finds herself in some sort of pickle. The author doesn’t nice job tying up her plot lines. I definitely recommend this author.

This is the second book in The Merciless Few series. After reading the first book I couldn’t wait to drive into this one and get to know another member of the MC. This is a MC romance with angst, danger, chemistry and a messed up leading male that you can’t help but fall in love with. One thing i would recommend is a box of tissues as this story will definitely cause you to become emotional as you read about Jett/Fiend’s past, what lead him to become a member of the MC and the struggle he has every day with his demons. My heart broke for him as he sees himself as worthless and not good enough to be part of anyones life. When he starts to keep a big secret from his brother’s this leads him down a path of addiction which only makes everything seem worse. Can the love of a women be the saving grace that Fiend needs to turn his life around or will he push her away and continue on his downward spiral into chaos.
I would recommend reading the first book in the series as the characters do overlap, however each story focuses on a different male lead.

This book is a fantastic follow up to the first – Tequila Midnight. I loved getting back into the story of Jessica. She is such a wonderful character and I found myself engaging with her just as much as the first time. Jessica finds herself pulled back into her old life and sets out to solve a complicated mystery. The story is well written and really grabs your attention. I was hooked from start to finish and couldn’t wait to see how things would turn out. This author has such a skill at writing lasting stories, and this is definitely one of her best. I loved this book and hope to read more about Jessica in the future.
It has been a while since I read a book by this author but as soon as I started reading I was reminded as to why I enjoy her work so much. This was a great YA story that I thought really focused on the characters and their development. Paige seems to be at a crossroads in her life and watching her figure out what to do was great. I loved Viktor as soon as I he came into the story. I thought he was perfect for Paige and together they had a great chemistry. I was less of a fan of the love triangle, but that is just my preference rather than the story. This is a great book that is thoroughly enjoyable.

This is the fifth book in the Buckeye Falls series, but is no less easy to fall into and want to not put down. Mallory Lawson has been in love with Beckett Fox, her younger brother’s best friend, since they were kids. Beckett is trying to cope with the recent loss of his grandfather, who raised Beckett from a young age, alongside Beckett’s grandmother, after Beckett’s parents’ divorce. While Beckett tries to piece his life together now without two of the most important people in his world in it, he gravitates back to Mallory and her brother, Evan for friendship and comfort. When Evan gets engaged, and uses the ring that belonged to Mallory’s grandmother and had been used in a pretend wedding between Mallory and Beckett when they were children, Mallory struggles with the situation, because while she loves her brother and soon to be sister-in-law, she had always held out hope of Beckett proposing with that same ring. When Beckett gets injured, Mallory swoops in to help him recover, giving them a chance to reconnect after all the times things haven’t gone right in the past, the couple finally find their happily ever after. This book is a GHEA with characters you will come to love. This book can be read as a stand-alone, but the whole series is too amazing to miss!

This book is great for ages 6-13 probably. It teaches children how to take ingredients in the kitchen an turn them into healthy snacks for their pets. Even gives some amazing recipes you can try.

The idea of making homemade treats for their puppies does engage the reader. Most kids do want to make special treats for their dogs. This does show the reader what it’s like to bake treats in an ideal environment. The illustrations are very realistic and colorful to catch the reader’s eye with what’s going on each page. I do like the fact that the author does provide recipes and safety tips when you’re in the kitchen.

We are back in the world of Emma and Jeremy on another adventure and mystery. This time they are investigating the murder of a friends brother and have to go undercover to see what has happened and what lies in store. Recruiting his sister and her husband to help the merry band of four of them have to try uncover the secrets with lie ahead.
As always they are plunged into danger, action and thrilling adventures which adds to the twists and turns of the book, as you are taken along the journey you just want to dive straight in and become one with the characters.
I have read many of this authors books in this series and they are all unique and thrilling with the twists and turns and the way the story flows having you anticipating the next jump are clue to the mystery and this book does not disappoint. With all the same old characters which we all love mixed in with some fresh new ones you will be swept away with the whole story.
I can’t wait to read the next instalment in this wonderful series.

I have become a fan of the Game Time Series, but this book is my favorite so far!
Two other Wildcats Players have found their HEA. Now, it’s Finn and Chessly’s turn to share their story. Chessly may enjoy watching football, but she has no intention of dating a football player, especially Finn, the D-lineman. He is constantly surrounded by catty jersey chasers. At least, that is what she keeps telling herself. One night at a bonfire celebrating the teams’ big win, she and Finn can’t seem to keep their eyes off one another, and when he offers her a ride home, she accepts. During that ride home, they learn they have a pretty good bit in common. Both are science nerds. Talking leads to an almost kiss until Chessly’s nemesis ruins the moment, but Finn is determined to get a second chance with his dream girl.
I enjoyed all the characters, except enemy number one, Tory, but Finn and Chessly are my favorites. They are so cute together, even when they are arguing. As with all the other books, Jackson, knows how to use the chemistry between the characters, and she doesn’t rush it, which makes the book even better. Chessly and Finn are perfect for one another. He may be a talented football player but he has an even greater mind. One would think Finn knows a lot about women since so many throw themselves at him, but he is clueless at times. Some of that might be that he is just a nice guy. I was glad that Chessly finally saw that and didn’t continue to think he was basking in all that attention. Chessly is no shrinking violet herself. She stands up for her convictions no matter what obstacles she faces. I thought they made a great team!
The storylines of all three books intersect somewhat, but the things that happen in each book aren’t repetitive. I’m always happy to see my favorite characters from previous books. This is a sweet, spicy read with some angst thrown in, but it was great to be a part of Chessly and Finn’s journey to happiness.

One night at a bonfire celebrating the teams’ big win, she and Finn can’t seem to keep their eyes off one another, and when he offers her a ride home, she accepts. During that ride home, they learn they have a pretty good bit in common. Both are science nerds. Talking leads to an almost kiss until Chessly’s nemesis ruins the moment, but Finn is determined to get a second chance with his dream girl.
I enjoyed all the characters, except enemy number one, Tory, but Finn and Chessly are my favorites. They are so cute together, even when they are arguing. As with all the other books, Jackson, knows how to use the chemistry between the characters, and she doesn’t rush it, which makes the book even better. Chessly and Finn are perfect for one another. He may be a talented football player but he has an even greater mind. One would think Finn knows a lot about women since so many throw themselves at him, but he is clueless at times. Some of that might be that he is just a nice guy. I was glad that Chessly finally saw that and didn’t continue to think he was basking in all that attention. Chessly is no shrinking violet herself. She stands up for her convictions no matter what obstacles she faces. I thought they made a great team!
The storylines of all three books intersect somewhat, but the things that happen in each book aren’t repetitive. I’m always happy to see my favorite characters from previous books. This is a sweet, spicy read with some angst thrown in, but it was great to be a part of Chessly and Finn’s journey to happiness.

This book is the “what happens after the happily ever after”. Short stories used to bring us back into a world of love, hate, acceptance and closed-mindedness. Not a perfect world but this author puts the emphasis on the love and acceptance these characters have for each other and their friends.
I really enjoyed catching up with all the characters from the previous books. It was like checking social media to see what’s new with our friends. The steamy parts weren’t so bad either as long as you like consensual, breathtaking, fulfilling sex.
Recommended for those that have read and enjoyed the rest of the series.

Her Sapphire Blade is the first book in the Guardians of Camelot series by Sarah Biglow. Having loved Ms. Biglow’s Seasons of Magic series and finding out that this story is part of that ‘universe’, made reading this a no-brainer for me, and I one-clicked this baby, happily setting off on the adventure. This is an Arthurian inspired urban fantasy, with quite a bit of a twist to the classic we know and love. Providing an action-packed adventure full of magic, challenges, a tournament, guardian warriors, witches/Fae/dragons, portals, fate/destiny, high stakes, dramatic developments, mythology, secrets, discovery, betrayal/deception, the paranormal, intrigue, mystery, suspense, danger, tension, and much more. Even though Morgan le Fey knew magic was real, she didn’t believe any of the stories that her Aunt Nim had been telling her all her life. They were just fairytales- weren’t they? But with the death of her aunt, modern day London gives way to Camelot and a destiny she never anticipated. Now she will need to face challenges that she isn’t prepared for, let alone have any hope of overcoming. The weight of ‘claiming her destiny’ sits heavily on her shoulders. What happens makes for an enchanting tale. I’m really looking forward to the rest of this series- bring on ‘Her Amber Chalice’ (Book #2). Happy Reading…

I love this series of books. They give great information in easy to read ways. I love the rhyming that are in these stories. The pictures are always cute as well. The story was short and sweet. I love the MANY recipes included at the end. I always find it such an awesome thing when extras are included at the end of stories.
