The Sacrifice (Dragonpets Book 1) by R. L. S. Hoff – Review by Trista Priest

I started off very interested in reading this YA fantasy. However, I feel like it dragged throughout a lot of it and there was not a lot of character development. I was very confused in the beginning, but the author quickly explains what is happening. I would recommend this series for preteens-young teens.

Taming Beckett (The Playmakers Series Hockey Romances Book 1) by G.K. Brady – Review by Trista Priest

Taming Beckett (The Playmakers, #1)Taming Beckett by G.K. Brady
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

A bad boy hockey player almost destroys his career with his reckless choices. While having to pick up the pieces he meets or remeets Paige a girl from college. Fairly predictable and slow at times, but not a bad read at all. There are several more books in the series so I am curious about where the author goes from here.

Kiss Away Your Pain (Wounded Hearts Series Book 2) by Debbie Cromack – Review by Trista Priest

I have to start by saying that I loved getting even a small glimpse of Nicco and Destiny’s wedding when I first started this book. In the first book, we didn’t learn a lot about Candi other than she was Destiny’s best friend. Debbie did a good job further developing her character and giving insight as to why she tends to hold back. Debbie used this story and showed that despite the hardships we experience, we can learn to love again. Look forward to reading more of her work.

Well written romance! I enjoyed the dynamics between Nicco and Destiny. I was pulled in from the photo shoot and didn’t want to put this book down until I finished. Definitely a slow burn and I typically read things a little more fast passed, but it was very enjoyable.

What an amazing well written book. This one sucked me in more than most, because it was so relatable. I’m a mom of two kids, whose father was killed in a work accident. I’ve struggled with many of the obstacles Peggy does throughout the book. Diane did a fantastic job with developing everyone of her characters and truly making this an amazing story of a woman’s transformation.

What a fun Romcom! I adored Emily from the first chapter. She’s had her best friends back since elementary school and proved she would stand by her side through anything. I just got back from my first cruise and the author did a wonderful job describing everything perfectly. I look forward to finding more by this author.

And Then She Fell by Dreena Collins – Review by Trista Priest

And Then She FellAnd Then She Fell by Dreena Collins
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Dreena did a really good job with this thriller. I kept trying to figure out what happened to Susie right along with Catherine only to be left puzzled and suspicious throughout the entire book. Dreena did an outstanding job developing her characters and even though Susie is deceased you got a sense of who she was right along with everyone else. I look forward to reading more by this author.

Wow. What an amazing start to an action packed series. The author did a fantastic job with building her characters and bringing them to life. She pulled me in from the very first explosion and kept me wanting more with every page. Can not wait to see what is in store for Jasper and Jordy and the rest of the circle members.

Absolutely loved Emery, Amy, and Dia’s stories. Can not even lie, as I was getting close to finishing this third book I was getting disappointed at myself for binge reading the series so fast. AND THEN find out Catherine has a fourth book in store for us. I highly recommend this shifter series, it has a little bit of everything. Steamy, RH, action, and mystery.

This was a very fast paced. well written novella. The author definitely left me wanting more about Falcon and Ivy’s story. The book is dark, twisted, and features jealous lovers. Check trigger warnings.

Weep, Woman, Weep: A Gothic Fairytale about Ancestral Hauntings by Maria DeBlassie – Review by Trista Priest

Wow! I absolutely loved this book. The author did a wonderful job writing it as if Mercy was directly speaking to the reader. Mercy goes from being scared and sure she is going to live with La Llorona always after her. And it’s only after many years does she see recognize her own strength.
