Piasa (The Legends Series #3) by Maggie Adams

This is the first book I’ve read by the author. Piasa is a great read and I really hope to see more of the series. The Legends Series is fantastic and I’ll be looking for the first two.

Delta is daydreaming when her friend comes into the shop. Being a shaman isn’t everything it’s cracked up to be. The quote I chose for Delta is: “It’s nightmares. The night I almost died replays in my mind. I see many different scenarios on how it ended. I’ll get over it.”

Jackson is a Dragon shifter and is the last of his kind (from what I’ve gathered). His buddy shows up to tell Jax bad news. The quote I chose for Jackson is: “And where the hell are we, Noah –the fucking Bronx? We are in the middle of the goddamn Great Plains. And I know it’s possible because I killed him myself. And another thing – the damn thing has human-like characteristics because it possesses human beings. The wendigo is known to encourage the desire to cannibalize other humans, as well as the propensity to commit murder. You know that my ancestors were associated with them according to the folklore.”

This is the first book I’ve read by the author. Ember’s Secret is a great read and an easy one at that. The next book is something I’m looking forward to.

Ember has always had a dream, but doesn’t think she can make it happen. When she meets Austin it’s close to Solstice. With his help will she be able to make her dream come true? The quote I chose for Ember is: “These dishes turned into a blend of traditional and … something. I wouldn’t call it fusion, but it’s different. Maybe more Americanized than I’d like. I tried a new appetizer and new entree. Wanted to get your opinion.”

Austin is a foodie by heart and wants to own his own restaurant. Breaking down in the middle of nowhere may be a blessing in disguise. Can he make his dream of settling down and being a chef come true? The quote I chose for Austin is: “Getting down those ideas you mentioned last night and implementing them as soon as possible.”

This is another fantastic read by the author. Each of the Dark Spell Series is good, but this tops the charts. Kissing Darkness is an amazing read.

Isra is a good witch for now, but she’s close to being a witch of darkness. She is trying to be stopped, but can she be stopped? The quote I chose for Isra is: “Huh? You know about me, how interesting! That’s my dragon. His name is Franco.”

Astrid overhears a conversation he wasn’t supposed to. James won’t befriend Isra and Sam wants to stop her. He gets to Isra before they can. Can he bring her to the dark side? The quote I chose for Astrid is: “Actually, I’ve just come back from witnessing Isra give up her heart to darkness.”

Thief of Magic (Shadowed Minds #1) by Bree Moore

This is the first book I’ve read by the author. Thief of Magic is the first book in the Shadowed Minds Series. I love this book and can’t wait for the next book. The author is now on my list of many authors that I’m on the watch for.

Lee is a Liminal and going to die if she doesn’t get the cure. The only thing she’s gotta do is make it until she can get to the people who made her this way. Finn being the new guy is also the one who may be able to save her. The quote I chose for Lee is: “Agent of the devil, hellion, whatever it was? Yes, yes I did. Every newbie needs a chance to prove themselves.”

Adam is an FBI Agent and needs to catch a Liminal. Catching her might prove to be difficult until he gets the chance to join their team. He falls for her and might be the only one to save her from herself. The quote I chose for Adam is: “Our department is the only one using the funding! Unless you’ve already started funding the CSI, there’s no reason the money can’t be used to purchase relevant tech or hire new people for the FBI.”

This is the first book I’ve read by the author. It’s the third book in the Thrill of the Chase Series. Jared and Madison are cute and I was very happy to read their story.

Jared is after one thing and one thing only, getting the best care for his father. So when the new caregiver is being a pain he goes in person to confront her. Then he’s grateful for her and asks her to be his father’s private nurse. The quote I chose for Jared is: “That’s the first s-s-song I ever played. I l-l-learned it for my f-f-father because I knew it w-w-was his favorite. Because he w-w-was my hero. S-s -still is.”

Madison loves her job and gets attached to her patients. She gets protective of Mr. Christopher and when things go south she thinks of his safety before her own. She can’t help but fall for Mr. Christopher’s son although she knows she shouldn’t. The quote I chose for Madison is: “Sounds good. Mr. Christopher, you sit tight for just a minute. Cookie will be right back, okay? Ethan is going to find a good station on the radio. He’s not from around here, so maybe you can help.”

This isn’t the first book I’ve read by the author. The author knows how to keep her readers entertained. This book is amazing and had me hooked from the beginning. I had a hard time putting it down.

Amber hasn’t ever had a Christmas that she has liked. When she meets Giovanni he opens her eyes to Christmas. The thought of him having a daughter scares her, but it doesn’t stop her. The quote I chose for Amber is: “He’s making breakfast? Of course he is. He’s a chef, Amber. Act surprised and enjoy every delicious morsel. And for God’s sake, don’t even suggest mimosas. Can’t have another repeat of last night.”

Giovanni is a single dad who is now living with his grandmother. He’s taking over her shop and needs to live up to her name. When he learns Amber’s story he vows to make it the best first Christmas she’s ever had. The quote I chose for Giovanni is: “I want to kiss you, Amber. I’ve wanted to kiss your pouty mouth all evening.”

This is not the first book I’ve read by the author. The Dark Sparrow Novels get better each one I read. King Bastard is by the far the best and we get to learn more about the head guy.

Lazarus is known for protecting his brothers from their father. So far each of them have found their happily ever after. Sasha came into his life when it was at his lowest and she just might be the best thing that has happened to him. The quote I chose for Lazarus is: “I didn’t know you’d worked with her so many times during your missions.”

Sasha comes back to the states after being away for a while. She gets a call from Lazarus’ mother and now has a place to stay. Can she get through to Lazarus that they can be more than friends? The quote I chose for Sasha is: “Sorry. I don’t come home a lot, and when I do, my brain takes time to adjust. I compare the life here and back there, seeing the inequalities, and it blows my mind.”

This is not the first book I’ve read by the author. I’ve read most of the Satan’s Devils MC Series and I’ve got to say they keep getting better and better. The author knows how to keep the readers interested.

Red has worked his way up to being Prez. When he runs into an old flame and sees that the kid she has looks like him things change. Can he accept his kid for the way they are? Challenges come, but Red isn’t backing down. The quote I chose for Red is: “Your mom and I need to have a conversation. To say I didn’t expect things to turn out how they have when I came here today is the understatement of the century. But whatever, you’ll be seeing me around. Now I know I’m your dad, I’m not going to stay away.”

Cheryl is now going by Cher and has been raising Zeke on her own. She wanted to let Red know, but had no way of contacting him to let him know. Zeke isn’t like most kids and prefers to be called them and they. Can she let Red back into her life? The quote I chose for Cher is: “I was stupid. This isn’t the first book I’ve read by the author. Another amazing book by this amazing author. Conveniently Yours is a great read.

Caspian is a playboy and he isn’t afraid to show it. When he is told by his uncle that he is to find a girl and stay married for a year that changes things. Then he meets Paisley and they both may get what they want. The quote I chose for Caspian is: “I’m not in the market for anything more than sex. I don’t like attachments, even brief ones, so this is for the best.”

Paisley is freaking out when she gets a call saying her mom has been moved. She isn’t doing well with money and is about to be kicked out of her place. She needs money and Caspian is more than willing. The quote I chose for Paisley is: “I’m not sure I understand. Has her condition gotten worse?”

This is the second book I’ve read by the author. Luke is another amazing book. So far the Default Distraction Series is amazing. I will be on the lookout for more.

Luke has had it hard his entire life. In comes Nikki and she changes everything. Luke is nostalgic and thinks of someone from the past. The quote I chose for Luke is: “She could have had it with us.”

Nikki is one of the few who get to get close to members of Default Distraction. When she catches Luke’s eye things change. The quote I chose for Nikki is: “Would it work if I said I wasn’t hungry?”

This is the first book I’ve read by the author. Cade is a good book and I can’t wait for the other books. The author did an amazing job and I’m looking forward to the other books.

Winter is a manager from her brother’s band. She has caught the eye of one of the band members. She can’t let herself fall for him or things will go bad. The quote I chose for Winter is: “Don’t flatter yourself, you wouldn’t have the skills to satisfy a woman like me.”

Cade is a cocky one and he knows it. He likes Winter, but doesn’t want to lose his bad boy status. When things change between them they change all the way around. This is the first book I’ve read by the author. This is for 18+ because it’s a detailed sexual violence book. Broken Chains is a great read.

Liz is a wanna be author and it doesn’t end well for her. She soon changes her mind and goes to school. She is approached with a job offer. The quote I chose for Liz is: “Hey. Where are you? I’ve been waiting ten minutes. Oh, I see. Okay. No- don’t worry. I’ll catch up with you later. Sounds like fun but I can’t make it, something’s come up. You know how it is. No, don’t change your plans. I’ll sort something out. Okay. Yeah, see you soon. Bye.”

Alex is part of the M15 and is watching Liz. They bring her in because they are suspicious of what she is watching them for. He soon finds himself falling for her, but is it too late? This is the first book I’ve read by the author. The author knows how to get a reader’s attention and keep it. Still Taking Chances is a great read.

Elgin is back in town after 15 years. When he gets to the house he hasn’t been to in several years he sees someone in the yard. He soon learns her secret and is intrigued. The quote I chose for Elgin is: “The name is Hud, and, no, Mistress, I won’t touch you without permission.”

Mary Beth is shocked when she is told to get away from the house. She doesn’t think anyone will find out what she has hidden for the last five years. She learns that maybe she can help him out. This isn’t the first book by the author that I’ve read. Each of the Her Three Immortals books keep getting better. The Box is about all of them and is an amazing book. The author knows how to keep the readers interested.

Vanessa is sent from her Gods and is now in front of Aroz’s mother. As Vanessa puts it, The Ice Witch (change w to b) sent her on another task after destroying the vial. Now Vanessa’s got to appease both the Ice Witch and Grey’s mother. The quote I chose for Vanessa is: “If I’d been thinking…Ugh. It’s not like I didn’t know he was alive and that Gorgonita turned living beings into stone. I just got used to not having to worry about it in the Underworld, and…Poof! Raef appears, alive and well, until I introduced them.”

Grey is worried about Vanessa when she disappears from him and his brothers. He then says that he’ll talk to his mother while Aroz talks to his mother. Grey is stuck in the Other world until Dorian completes his end of the bargin. The quote I chose for Grey is: “Dorian. Forget it. You have twelve hours to find your last tainted soul. And remember, they must be willing. I will not sign a contract with anyone who has been coerced. I’m going to get some rest, assuming your mother will let me back into her house. Call me the moment you’ve found your final candidate.”

Raef is tired of being mortal while his brothers are immortal. He tries to off himself once he knows that Vanessa has been sent on another mission. The quote I chose for Raef is: “Disaster averted. Vanessa, please don’t blame yourself. I knew coming here wouldn’t be a garden of roses. At least looking at Gorgonita didn’t turn me all the way to stone, so I’ve plenty to be thankful for.”

Aroz goes to talk to his mother only to be trapped. He is trying to get out of the cage so he can help Vanessa. His mother doesn’t know that he and Bow are now one. The quote I chose for Aroz is: “You are my lioness, mia bella. But I will get myself out of this mess. Worry about your task and keeping yourself and Raef safe, and let me worry about escaping my mother. I promise I’ll come and help you as soon as I’m able.”

This is the first book I’ve read by the author. A Sweet Christmas is a great read. It’s a Sweet Confections Novella and I will be on the lookout for more by her.

Thea owns a bakery and sells everything but cupcakes. She does get asked on several occasions, but the answer is always the same. When Ben comes by looking for them he catches her attention. The quote I chose for Thea is: “He’s probably one of those rich and cocky playboys. The type that’ll say all the right things so they can get laid. Maybe he was fishing to see if I had a boyfriend or better yet, maybe he thought I would be easy.”

Ben is falling fast for Thea. He didn’t think things would work out for him, but things are going good so far. He enjoys spending time with her and can’t think of anything else, but being with her. This is the first book I’ve read by the author. The author sure had me hooked from the beginning. It was hard for me to put down once I started. This is the second book in the Parker Lake Novels.

Breckin has lost her husband to a newly graduated cheerleader. When she doesn’t leave town to get away from the gossip it may be a good thing. She meets Griff who is a gentleman and she can’t wait. If only she could get to work on time. The quote I chose for Breckin is: “Ugh! For the love of everything holy, please get the damn donkey out of the middle of the road!”

Griff comes home after the horrible loss of his girlfriend. He takes over taking care of his grandmother and running her around for errands. He also takes over his grandfather’s bar and when he meets Breckin he thinks he may have a chance. The quote I chose for Griff is: “It doesn’t really bother me. I met her dad at Meemaw’s party. I like him. Plus, I know Meemaw posted a picture of his butt on Instagram so I kind of have the upper hand on him.”

This is the first book I’ve read by the author. This is the fourth book in the Caught Series, but can be read as a standalone. Caught in Midnight Shadows is a great easy read.

Brant has lost his mother in a strange accident. He doesn’t think it was quite an accident as he thinks someone is after him. He sends his kids with their mom, but what he doesn’t plan is to fall for someone while they are away. The quote I chose for Brant is: “Like I said, it isn’t safe, and I don’t want to bring trouble to Eric and Joan. We don’t know who is behind all this stuff going on around here, and I can’t risk you and the boys. You’ll stay with your mother in Chicago until I get back.”

Aubrey has been taking care of her aunt and bartending. After that is said and done she wants to get out of town and not look back. When she meets Brant she thinks that he may be enough to convince her to stay. The quote I chose for Aubrey is: “It was a midlife crisis or something, and I can’t get rid of him now. Crap. This is another great read by the author. She knows how to drag you into her world and keep you there. Blood Path is the second book in the Mafia Elite Series. It can be read as a standalone.

Sofia is in danger, but it’s leading her to the man of her dreams. What happens when there’s a contract and the other party isn’t dead? Keeping secrets isn’t what she likes to do, but one she has to keep is this one. The quote I chose for Sofia is: “So? That doesn’t mean anything. He could have seen movement and looked up. Who knows? Besides, it doesn’t matter. I leave for Italy soon. Ivan is here.”

Enzo doesn’t know that the other party of the contract is alive. He is still dealing with his sister going missing and Elena being dead. The quote I chose for Enzo is: “They took my sister. This is the first book I’ve read by the author. Surprise Baby for Mr. Fischer is the second book in the Curvy Ever After Series. This book tugged at my heart strings and really makes me want a real life fairytale.

Harper is a plus size woman who still has insecurities about it. When she is saved by a guy who she thinks is Prince Charming. She then finds out she is pregnant and she has no way of contacting the father. When he comes back into town she tries to ruin what may have been a good thing. The quote I chose for Harper is: “Right now, we can forget about the outside world, but what happens when we can’t do that anymore? Someone will figure out you’re here for more than a vacation, and then what ? It’s like we’re in this little bubble, and at some point, it’s going to pop. Knowing we have an expiration date scares me.”

Lincoln is an actor looking to get away for a while. He thinks he’s doing someone a favor by saving them, not once but twice. They end up spending the weekend together. Then he comes back into town and gets the shock of his life. The quote I chose for Lincoln is: “But I’ll come back, Harper. The second book of this series, just like the first, did not disappoint. This is a story about mafia princess Sofia who is being “hunted” by the Russian mafia. Sofia is a designer who is about to take off in the fashion world in Milan. However, prior to this adventure, a person from her past shows up and everyone knows that trouble is coming. Sofia has brothers who will not let anything happen to her, however, another would also come to her aid and much more. Enzo is the son of a high ranking mob boss, but has always pledged to keep Sophia safe. When they were younger they performed a blood oath and he always promised to keep her out of harm’s way. They have been “estranged” ever since his promised bride went missing along with his sister. He thought by staying away from Sophia, it would help keep her safe but he was wrong. So, Enzo and Sophia end up taking this journey together while he plays bodyguard and they both try to ignore their feelings for one another.
I always love a great, steamy, romance between friends that becomes more.
Some of the best relationships start out as friends and the bond can become something so different. That seems to happen for Enzo and Sophia. I really enjoy this series. The characters, the steaminess, and the combination of bad boy at the whims of the woman he loves just truly does it for me.

This is the first book by the author that I’ve read. It won’t be my last and I am certainly looking forward to the next book. Twilight’s Curse is book 1 in the Twilight Realm Trilogy.

Zoe is the daughter of the one who is taking over Twilight Realm. She is not really loved as she is being used. When she meets Nix she knows something is different about him. The quote I chose for Zoe is: “Where to? Surely you’re not allowed to try another tattoo after what happened the last time.”

Nix was thirteen years old when his parents were killed. What the murderer doesn’t know is he watched his parents die. The quote I chose for Nix is: “Elek, my father. What did he mean when he said that he sacrificed himself for the Twilight Realm?”

This isn’t the first book I’ve read by the author. The author creates a world we can escape to. The Mating Call is the first book in the Long Claw Pride Series.

Cheyenne is eighteen and ready to be on her own. She goes to Cali to find herself before the call comes. When it does come she is ready to go home. There she finds her mate already waiting for her at her house. The quote I chose for Cheyenne is: “And I’m not. I just want to find my own footing before I have to let nature take hold of me.”

Lane is busy working away when the call hits him hard. He drops everything and follows the pull towards his mate. The only thing he is missing is his court date. He finds his mate only to be taken from her. The quote I chose for Lane is: “No, I want to be able to tell our grandchildren someday it was me who put every log up, who nailed in almost all the nails to seal our home closed to keep the love in, and I want to be an example for our children, grandchildren, and all the generations to come how hard work can be so rewarding.”

This is the first book I’ve read by Moody. The Elements of the Crown is a great read. This is the first book in The Elements of Kamdaria Series.

Talise is being sent away and she isn’t sure how she will deal with it. She is supposed to be the big deal, but then comes along another person. This guy will be the downfall of Talise or so she thinks. The quote I chose for Talise is: “How will you survive? Academy training lasts ten years.”

Aaden goes to the academy thinking he’s the best of the best. When he gets there he finds that he’s got to beat another person for the highest spot. The quote I chose for Aaden is: “Let’s go. I’m sure the emperor wants you back in your living quarters.”

This is the first book I’ve read by Rice. This is the fourth book in the A Wilton Hills Christmas Series. Although it can be read as a standalone. Snowflakes & Stockings is a great short read and a wonderful story.

Liberty is on the lookout for Maine’s Secret Santa who gives thousands away during Christmas. When she gets down to three people one of them sticks out more than the other two. When she meets Sawyer she doesn’t think it’s him because he doesn’t have Christmas spirit. The quote I chose for Liberty is: “Oh my gosh. I love Noodle, and I haven’t eaten all day either. I swear, if it wasn’t for my camera crew or for Lizzie, the assistant manager at the station, I’d go days without eating. No, that’s not entirely true. My family wouldn’t allow that. It seems every week we have a gathering that involves copious amounts of food. Anyway, I digress. I apologize. A dinner meeting is perfect.”

Sawyer doesn’t really like Christmas because of the loss he and his family had. He meets with Liberty under the assumptions of doing an article of Campbell Tech. The quote I chose for Sawyer is: “Baby of the family? I don’t see it. You’re an established professional working in a field that requires deadlines. You wouldn’t be where you are if you didn’t meet them. And you wouldn’t be where you are by riding someone else’s coattails. I may be wrong with your birth order but I’m right on all other accounts.”

This is the first book I’ve read by Hanna. It won’t be my last as I’ll be looking for more. The Groomsman is an amazing story. It’s an easy read and will have you wanting more.

Lauren is a bridesmaid who isn’t the luckiest when it comes to love. The last relationship didn’t end well because he was married. Now she’s sleeping with a groomsman. The quote I chose for Lauren is: “The bridesmaid hooking up with the groomsman, so bloody original.”

Mark has found himself in bed with a hottie. He knows who she is and that doesn’t stop him from wanting her. Can he get Lauren to break down her walls? This is the first book I’ve read by Lewis. I will definitely be on the lookout for more by Lewis. This story had me hooked from the beginning and I had a hard time putting it down.

CC is offered the job of the century. She thinks things are going great for her until she crashes. Not only does she crash her car, but she also crashes into a man’s life. The quote I chose for CC is: “Give me a list of what you’d be doing if you weren’t studying.”

Reese wasn’t expecting company and not the way he got it. Christmas isn’t The man’s favorite holiday, but when he lets CC stay things change. The quote I chose for Reese is: “Hold on a minute. I’ll have to dig you out a bit.”

This isn’t the first book I’ve read by Barrett. Snowfall Serenade was an amazing read and I know others will enjoy it. Barrett has outdone herself with this series.

Scott can see ghosts and it’s taking its toll on him. He has these life-like dreams and wakes feeling guilty. His wife is someone he can turn to, but he feels like she may leave him because of his obsession. The quote I chose for Scott is: “Still doesn’t solve the guilt thing, though. That’s the biggest. This anniversary will pass, but ghosts needing me won’t.”

Zelda is used to her husband seeing ghosts. Now it’s not only her husband, but her daughter as well. She can’t carry Scott’s child and any time she sees a kid she pictures Scott. The quote I chose for Zelda is: “Go. Get the hell out of here. You can’t be seeing Scott in random kids.”

This is the first book I’ve read by Zak. Rock Me to the Top is a great read. I will be looking forward to other books by Zak. I hope each book is just as good as this one.

Melody is the daughter of legendary Rock Star Leo Sterling. She is also Joe Grace’s best friend. She’s always had a dream of playing for the LA orchestra, but things didn’t work out for her. The quote I chose for Melody is: “Guess I can’t totally fault Dylan for last night. I’m sure it’s going to be hard to trust the guy who stole his girl.
