This is the first book that I have read by this author and I have to say it will not be the last. Once I started reading I just could not put it down.

She spun her characters in such a way that you felt what they felt and like you were part of the story as it unfolds.

Anne and Pedro compliment each other and I think that made it more appealing to me. I read the book in a day and then felt like I lost a couple o friends when I was finished the book.

The Uncrowned King (The Blood Prince Series) by Ayla Marie – Review by Micalah Weatherholtz

The Uncrowned King (The Blood Prince, #2)The Uncrowned King by Ayla Marie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Uncrowned King is the second book in The Blood Prince Trilogy. Like her previous book the writing was wonderful and absorbing and most definitely enthralling, nothing like what you would expect from a high schooler. Ayla Marie most certainly has talent and I will look forward to reading more from her in the future.

Sleeping with the Enemy (Astoria Royals, #3)Sleeping with the Enemy by Deborah Garland
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the third book in the Astoria Royals Series. I have not read the first 2 books so this book can totally be read as a stand alone. The emotion and the storytelling in this book were outstanding. I was drawn into this book and the characters’ stories. The way the past and the present collide for Priscilla and Riordan is perfect and heart wrenching. I believe I will need to go back and read the first 2 books just to stay in this world a little longer.

Euphoric Wonderland: An Eclectic Collection of Psychedelic Poetry to Stimulate the Senses and Open the Mind, by Ryan M. Becker:
I don’t normally go for poetry, but I love music and often find lyrics are better able to express what I’m feeling when I’m struggling to find the words. I really liked a lot of the poems, most of which read like a poetry-slam to me. Some of the content did get dark and heavy. It did become somewhat harder for me to read through, but I enjoyed it overall.

The Summer I Went Crazy by Laura Koerber – Review by Francis Ball

The Summer I Went CrazyThe Summer I Went Crazy by Laura Koerber
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book is so real. Privileged kids who think they can do anything they want with no consequences, sadly that happens all too often.
I loved this book. I very rarely rate a book 5 stars unless it is Stephen King, however this book deserves 5 stars, there are a few grammatical mistakes but that does not take away from the story at all.
I was pulled in so well that I felt all the emotions that Ben was feeling. I absolutely could not put this book down. The struggle within himself about what was wrong and what was right, what had happened to Claire that night and what was the right thing to do. Should he tell or should he try to forget about it? It was tough seeing this young boy struggling with what to do and the guilt of what he has witnessed. I felt every single emotion with him and at times I felt sorry for him as he realized no one was in his corner and at other times I really wanted to shake him and say “Ben, you know the right thing to do, now go and do it”. However I also realized the trouble trying to understand as a teenager, the struggles within himself. I loved Phoebe and her family, they were great to me, they did break the law sometimes but they loved adventure. Would Ben’s phone call 40 years later be answered and would they ever get closure?
This is one of the best books I ever read and it will stay in my favorites, as I often reread my favorites. I will be looking for more books from Laura Koerber as she is an amazing author.

Destiny of Light (Quirk of Destiny Book 3) by Catherine Greenall – Review by Francis Ball

Destiny of Light (Quirk of Destiny, #3)Destiny of Light by Catherine Greenall
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

The devastation of the world from genetically modified food is terrifying considering it is currently happening to our foods. The story is very well written and Mrs. Greenhall has a way of pulling you in, even if you haven’t read the other books in this series, which I had not read, I do recommend reading them though. I think I would have understood the characters stories much better if I had. This book is a wonderful blend of reality and sci-fi, and I throughly enjoyed it. I would give this book 3 stars only because I hadn’t read the others in the series which would have given me a better understanding of the characters. From now on I will be sure to read previous books if in a series. Mrs. Greenhall done an amazing job!

This isn’t the first book I’ve read by the author. Handle with Care is the first book in the Chase Care Series. I’ve read a couple of the Chase Security books so I know a couple of the characters. This book is an amazing read.

Hunter, a doctor for Chase Security, is losing his mind. His wife is out of town and will be for a while. He feels that she is hiding something from him, but he isn’t sure what it is. When she comes back will he be able to fix what was broken? The quote I chose for Hunter is: “Medical complaints are the most elusive to chase down. I’d rather we overdo than underdo. Keep me posted. Next.”

She doesn’t plan on seeing her ex while she’s in town, but it’s a small town. What will happen when she finds the attraction is still there? The quote I chose for Ginny is: “You are all I’ve ever wanted, Max. I am sorry it took me this long to realize that.”

Max has been in the same town for the last two years. He stayed when he wanted to run. His father in law was part of the reason while the other was the diner. I think you’re not coming back from New York this time; at least not in a capacity to see me. Isaac out with his brother finds a redhead he can’t wait to get to know. A redhead he didn’t give his name to. He didn’t give her his name either. The quote I chose for Isaac is: “Good, me either. I’m going to fuck you hard, Jack. So hard you might not be able to walk to leave tomorrow, but I don’t know how long I’m going to last with the feeling of your bare cunt around my cock. If it’s anything like what your mouth felt like, this is going to be fucking fast.”

Oh, Elinor is at it again. Though this time, she is on vacation and enjoying the culinary treats, she somehow finds herself mixed in trouble again. I love this series because Elinor can take care of herself but the good Duc d’Archambeau is there to assist her. Elinor’s ghost talking skills are called into use when someone is attacked again. I loved the story in this book of the series. The writing flows so well. The characters are well=written and just fit into the story. Elinor is so strong that it’s great to watch a strong female protagonist in a story during a time period where that is not common. I also find that her relationship developing with Duc d’Archambeau is quite entertaining. This is a very good read and another wonderful book in The Ghost Talker Series. Adrik is called Beast because that’s what he is. He has been watching Annika from afar and now he’s in close contact with her. Can he keep her safe? Even if it has to be from himself? The quote I chose for Adrik is: “No. I don’t associate with him. I hate that b****rd. I haven’t seen him since I was seventeen. I don’t even know if he’s still alive. I hope to f*** he’s dead, cause if he’s not, the next time I see him, I’m killing him.”

John found out what he was over seven hundred years ago. Now he hunts demons so they can’t hurt others. He gets a call that freaks him out and goes to a bar before the meeting to have a drink. There he meets Mick the bartender. The quote I chose for John is: “This represents your friend. Tell Asteroth to leave me the f*** alone. And whatever the bartender is in here, do not touch her either. She’s off limits to your mind. Mick’s a cute girl, the innocent human that she is. Feel me, friend?”

Mick is working the bar when a guy comes in. She gives him a bottle on the house before taking care of the others. She lets Sully know that her co-worker never showed up. The quote I chose for Mick is: “He’s been working here longer than me, so he trained me for this job. But as we worked, we became friends. I gave him the nickname ‘Ace’ because he’s always loved the idea of flying a plane. He should’ve been a pilot or something, but life didn’t deal him those cards. He’s tall, dark, and handsome. The usual for a bartender– just kidding. We’re friends and I just know something’s wrong. I can’t explain it. It’s not like him to not text me or anything for more than a day. We’re close. That’s why I’d be grateful if you could find him.”
