I have not read the first book in this series but after this I will be going back and doing so. This book had my attention from the moment that I opened it. This book is so close to home for me as someone who works in the music industry. While its not always that easy to find love in this industry, this book has made me hopeful. The characters are wonderful and easy to relate to since they come from all walks of life. People are not without flaws, of course, but it was great to follow along with Oz and Maria as they both explore a journey that is new for the both of them! I will certainly continue on with this series in the future.

I was amazed at how many things Maria did and what she was thinking. I get that she wanted her mom to approve her but OMG a guy that she one time meet ends up in bed with her. Talk about music into her ears. Not only that she offered to pay for his band. Oh, she wants everything from him.
The author Tami Lund did an amazing job with Maria and Oz. I have to maybe go back to a book and read the other two as well to get a full story. But this story was like wow…

A Way Out gripped my attention from the very first chapter to the very last! I enjoyed everything about this book. This author writes characters that you can relate to even if you’ve never been in their situation, which I find rare and intriguing. The story of Maria and Oz is anything but conventional, but I was still fully invested throughout the whole book. I loved their chemistry, and the flow of this story was perfect. It is part of a series (that I will be picking up) but I read as a standalone and didn’t feel lost at all. Pick it up and get lost in this spectacular contemporary romance for the day!

Maria has finally gotten something she wants: a divorce. Unfortunately, that divorce leaves her with no plan and no house. Her family is a traditional, no nonsense nuclear unit so going home won’t work. Her next best option is going to LA to spend some time with her sister the rock star.

Except, she’s not in LA. She’s run off to Missouri to plan a wedding that Maria is supposed to be at.

Thank goodness for Oz Garcia whose house sitting for her and lets Maria crash while they’re away. Suddenly he’s offering to go to Missouri with her for the wedding, she’s offering to sleep with him, all the while, Maria is now financing Oz’s band…so she’s his boss.

Things are about to get messy…

This was a fun, upbeat and romantic rock star romance with a second chance vibe. I found it to be a whole lotta fun, and I’m excited to see what else this series of books can bring to the table.

Highly recommend if you love fast read romances and rock star tropes!

A Way Out is Book 2 in the Rock Star series. The books are stand-alone, so there is no risk of confusion. The story follows Maria, who is fleeing to her sister’s house after she’s kicked out of her home by her recently divorced husband. Her sister is away preparing for her wedding but Maria stumbles upon Oz who is house-sitting. I really liked this story. It felt like a grown-up, realistic romance. We get to watch as Maria finally finds true love. Oz is such a kind and perfect man for Maria. The story had the right amount of romance and conflict. I fell in love with Oz. This is a very good romance.

A Way Out (Rock Star Book 2)

I did not read the first book of the series but I wish I had. It wasn’t necessary to follow Maria and Oz’s story but I’m one of those people that needs to know everything.

Maria is an amazing mom and will do what she needs to for her daughter Riley which is how it should be. Starting over after a divorce and no job had to be scary but she knew her sister would help her out.

Oz has stepped to help his Mom, nieces and nephew financially by killing himself working three jobs along with trying to get recognition for he and his band. Thankfully they have good people there to assist.

I enjoyed reading this book and will be keeping up with this series.

A Way Out is Book Two in the Rock Star series. It is a contemporary romance full of angst, passion, love, drama, family, friendships, dreamers, and of course a fledgling rock star. Maria is trying to bounce back from a bad divorce to a man that she only married because her mom approved. With nowhere to live and a need to get away for a bit she decides to leave town to visit her sister. When she arrives at her sister’s house, she discovers that her sister is in another state preparing to get married. A sexy stranger named Oz is in her sister’s home and Maria cannot help but be attracted to this fledgling rockstar. Both Oz and Maria are going to attend her sister’s wedding, so they decide to travel together. Along the way the attraction grows, and somehow Maria finds herself agreeing to fund Oz’s fledgling rock band. Now she is technically his boss and business and pleasure never mix. The problem is they are attracted to one another. Can they have both business and pleasure, or will they have to choose? A well written story with emotional ups and downs and great characters that you immediately feel a connection to. Oz has a heart of gold and will do anything to support his family. Maria has been through a tough marriage and she and her daughter have been kicked to the curb after a bad divorce. Their stories really tug at the heartstrings, and you find yourself rooting for things to work out for both Maria and Oz. I highly recommend this book!

This is book 2 in the Rockstar Series. Even though it is part of a series it can be read as a standalone. This is a rockstar romance. It is full of emotion, challenges, drama and chemistry that is hot and steamy. The author does an amazing job of making the characters relatable and bringing them to life.
This is a story of how a chance meeting between 2 people can end up giving them everything they dreamed of and more.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. I felt that it has the push and pull of the main characters that always leads to an epic story. Maria didn’t start out as a favorite character of mine because she seemed almost weak at the beginning but that did change and she had some amazing character growth throughout the story. I did end up really rooting for her and enjoying who she becomes in this story. Oz is amazing and compassionate. He cares a lot about everyone around and almost has a white knight complex. The story makes you feel like Oz would protect anything and everyone he loves from anything they may face. Don’t get me wrong he does have his moments and they just make him more humanized in the story. I had to keep reading this book just to find out what was going to happen. I needed to know not only what happens between them but also the secondary characters in this book are phenomenal. I hoping that they get books as well because they really helped the story flow and me turning the pages. I highly recommend this book to anyone. That’s it, just to anyone who wants a quick read that will make them feel good but won’t leave a book hangover.

Such a great story! Maria is a recently divorced mother who reaches out to her estranged sister because she has nowhere else to go. Oz is the guitarist of a hot new band that is not in the big leagues yet, mostly because of his own home situation. When they meet sparks fly, no matter how much either wants to deny. But can they get past their differences?

This is a love story that gets better and better as you go. The characters are wonderful and relatable, the scene is exciting and adventure filled, and the writing keeps you enticed the entire way. Read this book if you like romance, family, and true talent and hard work. Great story! Can’t wait to read the next one!

A Way Out (Rock Star Book 2) by Tami Lund. This is such a good contemporary romance. Maria has ended up in a dead end marriage all because she thought she would make her mom happy by marrying the “right” guy! Deciding to take charge of her life she divorces him and takes off for LA where her rock star sister is. What she doesn’t know is her sister Holly is in Missouri for a surprise wedding and Maria is supposed to be there. When Maria gets to Holly’s LA house she finds a incredibly hot rocker (Oz) there but he offers to let her stay too. As they spend time together they begin to have feelings for one another and Oz feels incredibly protective toward her and her daughter. Will they be able to make something work out or will the hurts of their past mess it all up. I loved watching Maria become a strong independent woman! Such a fun read!

A Way Out was a hard book for me to get into. I’m not sure if it was because of the story line or just an off day of reading. Nonetheless, I did finish it and would recommend it to anyone wanting to read it. The story is full of drama and chemistry. Maria and Oz run a bumpy first meeting and have that instant connection but it’s a first meeting so it can’t be anything else, right?

Rock star, Single dad, hard working, hot as all, this is the perfect man for this story. There is instant attraction between Maria and Oz. This is the 2nd book in the series but the first I have read and I was not lost or confused in any way. I am sure there is overlap in the characters but that is ok.
I really enjoyed the pace and character development throughout. Watching Maria step up and take over certain aspects was refreshing.

A Way Out (Rock Star Book 2)A Way Out by Tami Lund
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This nice guy, this average Joe, this hardworking, hard-loving family man. This is who rock stars should be. It doesn’t hurt that he has the best butt on Insta!! Oz is caught between his reality and his dream. Can he have both? Maria is figuring out her life was never her own. Now she has a chance to not only discover who she is but grow her relationship with her sister, and finally get out from her stifling mother. Will she take it or will Maria fall back into her old habits?

Oz Garcia is trying to do right by his sister by raising her three children after the immense tragedy that was her marriage. It takes three jobs to keep a roof over their heads, food on the table, clothes on their backs and shoes on their feet. He doesn’t hate it, Oz will do whatever it takes to keep his family together. He is just steps away from his dreams. It is right at his fingertips, if he could find a way to pay the bills when playing rock star with his fledgling band.

Maria married the man her mother would approve of and she is not happy. Maria had her daughter because her husband thought it was time to start a family. The minute he started discussing having a second child Maria decided she wanted a divorce. She wasn’t going to have the life her mother did. When her ex tells Maria that she has to leave the house despite the arrangement they agreed to in the divorce, Maria escapes to the only place she feels safe, her sister’s house. The only problem, her sister isn’t there. She is in another state for the last days before her wedding.

When Maria hears Oz’s band play, she is memorized. The lyrics, the music, the sound, everything is ready for the next steps except a significant lack of funds. Maria takes a leap of faith in Oz, in his band. With the band, Maria finds happiness and a real place where she can feel successful. When family issues arise threatening Maria’s daughter, she drops everything and runs home. Will this cost Maria not only her new life but Oz?

OMG!! Prepare yourself to strap in for this emotional rollercoaster ride! The ups, the downs, the twists, the turns, the flips and swirls are all worth it. The author provides us with the rock star we all can love. He is funny. He cares about his family. He makes sacrifices for them and his band. He is sexy as all hell…o!! Did I mention he is good with kids? He is patient with the teens and the toddlers. He is the next great heartthrob!! Going to catch up with the rest of the band now!! I am hooked. Sell me a t-shirt and a hat, I am a Demigoddess Revival groupie now and forever!!

Maria has decided to get control of her life, divorcing her husband who to be fair she only really married as she thought her mother would approve but as the years have gone on, she has discovered she is bored and has never really been in love. With divorce now final and her ex-husband kicking out of the house with their daughter she has only one place that is safe, her sister Holly’s.

Maria then drive’s to Holly’s only to discover that she is not home but a rather sexy rocker is in her place, once realising that it’s Holly and Sam’s wedding and she should be there, panicking she agrees to stay with Oz and take the trip together, but can she stay away from the sexy rocker or should she just let loose and do something for her for a change.

Oz has agreed to look after Sam and Holly’s house while they are away on honeymoon but when Holly’s sister turns up her has a feeling of protection and attraction towards her and her daughter. Although he has enough in his life looking after his sisters’ children and his mother her is drawn to Maria and Reilly which he can not understand. Swearing against acting on his feelings he is given a great opportunity to go further in the band, but it means that Maria will technically become his boss and those affairs never go well, but can he stay away.

I loved this story of heartbreak but also discovery which had me turning the pages to finish this beautiful tale. Maria’s character in the beginning I felt a bit wishy washy but are the story progressed you saw her come out of her shell and become a strong woman who in the end knew what she wanted. Oz, I have to say has been added to the long list of book boyfriends as his character was so empathic and was also struggling with the internal conversations of being attracted to her but was it right which had me internally shouting “just do it, follow your heart”.

The secondary characters added to the whole flow of the story, and I hope there are another few books along to the to let us into the world of Cash and Travis all but a few. Although this is the second book in this series, I feel this story can be read as a standalone. I look forward to reading more in this series and the others.

Maria is trying to figure out her next step now that her divorce is final…Oz is working three jobs to take care of his family and hope his band will finally get its big break. When these two meet, it is instant chemistry…with a side of baggage. These two will have to put their trust in each other, and stop worrying about all the reasons they shouldn’t be together…which is a lot easier said than done. But, sometimes, the risk is worth the reward.

These two were amazing characters to get to know. They felt so real…like people you know in real life. Their struggles are authentic and I felt myself feeling right alongside them with their push and pull relationship. It was a very good story that I was hooked on from the very beginning…I couldn’t put the book down. It was nice to see past characters showing up in the story…and I look forward to reading the next book in the series.

Having not heard of this series before and this being the first book I picked up I didn’t know if I was going to wind up lost somewhere along the way and have to go back and read the first book before finishing this one. Lucky for me these are standalone books that can be read out of order and still understood.

Maria is going through some stuff, after leaving an unhappy marriage she is like a lost soul trying to refind her path in life and with her daughter in tow. She makes the choice to head to her sister’s house for some familial love and comfort only instead of finding her sister there she finds Oz. Her sister is off planning her secret wedding Maria is supposed to be at and Maria just wants a little peace amongst her chaos. Oz, the caretaker of all things including people, offers to go to the wedding with Maria and as the two grow closer Maria decides to finance Oz’s band. Now as the chemistry builds there is just one problem Maria now becomes his boss. Can the two figure out a good balance between work and the budding chemistry between them? Or is this romance doomed before it ever gets off the ground?

I was pulled in by the characters’ story, the drama and challenges faced that really brought these characters to life for me. Now instead of having to go back and read Ms. Lund’s other books to understand this one I will do so by choice because the writing was fantastic and blew my expectations out of the water. I cannot wait to see what other books she has to offer and dive i to more of her amazing writing.

When I first read the synopsis of this book I wasn’t sure I would like, I love rockstar romance reads but it didn’t grab my attention straight away but I am SO glad I did read it – this was an amazing read and definitely one of my favourite books this year. I didn’t feel like I would like Maria but I was so wrong, she was great female lead, she had a strength that I don’t even think she believed that she had and the chemistry between her and Oz was great. I really liked Oz as well, he wasn’t what I expected at all.

A Way Out
By: Tami Lund

This book features such a wonderful storyline and characters. Maria is a brand new divorcee with plenty of money, but nowhere to live, no job and really no clue what she is going to do now. She really hadn’t planned on being in this predicament. This leads her to the one place and person that she thinks might help. Her sister’s house. But her sister isn’t there and their is a gorgeous stranger standing at their door. Oz is this handsome man at the door. Oz has an incredibly caring nature and they decide to travel together to Louisana, which is where her sister is, and a wedding that they are both invited to is. Enter amazing banter between Oz and Maria, an undeniable attraction and then a proposal that just might complicate things.
This book is the second in a series. It functions as a standalone, but it most definitely wont be the last book in this series that I read. I want to go back and read the first one just because I enjoyed the writing and the storyline that much. I definitely suggest picking this one up, as it won’t disappoint.

This is book two of the series. It can be read as a standalone. It’s the first book I’ve read of this series and now I definitely need to go read book one!

Maria is finally free of her unhappy marriage. The only problem, she has no where to live. Money isn’t the issue, she just doesn’t have a plan in place. Maria decides she needs some time with her sister. However, when she gets to her sisters house, the only person she finds is Oz. Figuring they are both going to the same place, Oz offers to go with her to the wedding. There is instant attraction between Oz and Maria. The only way to complicate things? Maria offers to finance his band. Now she’s his boss and they are walking a thin line.

This book sucked me in and I couldn’t put it down! Who doesn’t love rock stars? This book has some angst, all the chemistry, and all the emotion! It was such a good read! I need to read more!!
