I love this series so much. I was so excited to see that this is a series because I really loved Hot Flashes and Hockey Slashes. I really love this series because it’s about women in their 30’s-40’s going through life as single women and fighting for love. This book really drew me in because Kaitlyn with a “K” is a career woman and reality starts to change right in front of her eyes and VERY quickly. As a single career woman myself, I found it so fun to sit down every night and read a little bit more about how she handles her career, her heels, and her dating life. I think this book is a GREAT read for all ages, but especially single women in this age range. It gives me a little bit of hope that a Hockey player will come and sweep me off my feet. (Kidding…kinda)

This is the second book in this series and while you can 100% read it as a standalone this is a series that will bring up characters from previous books so it may add to the experience if you read book 1 first (but you don’t have to). Jamie and Laramee are two people who are dealing with past issues and have to interact with each other. There is humor and wonderful character development. Their romance is gentle despite the head butting and is very sweet to read. This was a lovely book.

This was my first book by these authors, and it blew me away! After seeing the cute cover, I had a feeling I would pick it up. I love that they put the tropes up front because I knew I was in for a good read after seeing them. I won’t give anything away, but it was truly refreshing to find that this was not a typical sports romance book. Kaitlyn is a force to be reckoned with which had me hooked instantly. Banks had me flustered at first, but after awhile I found a soft spot for him. Don’t let the cover fool you, there are some spicy scenes in this book that will surprise you (in a good way). I loved their chemistry, their banter, and the forbidden romance of it all. I finished this in one day because I couldn’t get enough! If you are looking for a funny and steamy sports romance, look no further than this. I highly recommend picking it up and giving it a chance!

I’ve enjoyed a few books by this author, but this one ties for my favorite! It’s a slight change from their historical romances yet somehow, they still wove an incredible and inspirational romance tale. I didn’t realize this was the second book in the series, but I believe it can be read as a standalone because I wasn’t lost at any point. I will be circling back to pick up the previous one anyways just because this one was sensational! The characters are relatable, and the flow of the story unfolded naturally. Laramee’s situation pulled at my heart so much, but Jamie also held a special place for me. This was a bit of an emotional rollercoaster that was pulling me in page by page. I love Colorado and the author brought the area to life in my mind. If you are looking for an intriguing romance to cuddle up with on your weekend, this should absolutely be your next read!

A heartwarming romance which kept me happily turning the pages. Laramee Stone returns to her family’s Colorado ranch after leaving five years ago following a family tragedy. Meanwhile, Jamie Cannon, after making some youthful mistakes is now a successful partner in his family’s real estate business. Jamie arrives at the Stone’s remote ranch to carry out an appraisal as Laramee’s ailing parents are considering selling the place. Whilst Jamie is dedicated to fulfilling his assignment, Laramee is just keen to get him to leave her family’s ranch. However, with her family’s financial future at stake the couple reluctantly agree to work together. They soon discover that they have both had tragedies happen in their pasts, but just as their relationship develops Laramee’s ex-fiancé returns. Sutton makes it very clear that he wants to get back together with Laramee and having discovered Jamie’s past makes it clear that he thinks he is the better man for her. Jamie must then decide if he can make Laramee happy despite his past baggage and if so needs to tell her how he feels. Both Laramee and Jamie are likeable and relatable characters who’s chemistry came across in the narrative. The Colorado ranch setting was brought to life through the descriptive narrative helping me feel immersed in the storyline. An enjoyable and engaging romance which I recommend reading.

The Ghostly Diva is the 3rd and final book of the Divine Vintage and while I am sad this series is completed….I really enjoyed this series and the final book. This story gave me all the feels of spark, chemistry, enemies to lovers (which I love), drama and ghosts. While each book could be read as a standalone, I truly recommend reading this series from the beginning. This is a wonderful and fun series and I am looking forward to what the author may have in store in the future.
Justine Saunders is all about finding the best treasures in vintage clothing. When the phone rings and an opportunity arises to look at vintage clothing items from a deceased actress…she jumps at the opportunity. All Jackson Maddox wants to do is just unload all the unwanted clothing and his burly attitude is a bit standoffish with Justine. What Eyes Can’t See (Bold Journeys Series) by Paulette Stout. This is a great contemporary women’s fiction book with some romance and political justice. Barbara is a young black woman who has already had great successes being an attorney. She has had to work twice as hard because not only is it a man’s world its a mainly white man’s world. Barbara grew up very well off due to her dad having his own successful law firm. When she finds her fiance in bed with another woman right before their wedding she is heartbroken. It was a non refundable destination wedding so she gives it to one of her friend and becomes a bridesmaid at what should have been her wedding. While there she meets Sebastian who is the exact opposite of Barbara, white,poor, single mom, and a general hard life but they are attracted instantly. He’s become a successful lawyer and when they get back home and Sebastian gets the promotion she has been working so hard for. Will they be able to work thru this horrible situation? Barbara isn’t going to back down but to what end will that be? Read this great contemporary romance to find out!
This is the second book in the Silver Buckle Brides series. This is a beautifully written, heartwarming second chance romance that really pulls on your heart strings. This author does an incredible job of writing moving stories with characters that you cant help but fall in love with. In this story we are with Jamie and Laramee . Both of our characters have flaws and pasts they aren’t proud of. Laramee returns back to her family’s ranch after time away. She has avoided returning home after she left escaping a tragedy that hit her family. Now she has to return to take over her families ranch as they get older and their health gets worse. Jamie is a real estate partner who has been sent out to value her parents ranch. When they meet Laramee is frosty towards him to say the least. However the more time they spend together the more Laramee starts warming up to him. Could this be the start of a romance? Well not without some drama first. And that drama comes in the shape of Laramee’s ex Sutton. Sutton returns wanting Laramee back and Jamie out of the picture and after finding out the secrets of Jamie’s past he plans to use that against him. Now Jamie has a decision to make. Mood Swings and Hockey Flings by Marika Ray and Sylvie Stewart follows hockey agent Kaitlyn and Hockey superstar Banks as they went from an instant connection in an airport to becoming enemies and rivals. As they find a way to work together, that fire starts to come back. Will they skate away together or melt the ice?
I love the enemies to lovers trope and this one delivered. The chemistry between the two was palpable, but it was how well rounded and fun they were that really drew me in. The banter kept a smile on my face until the last page.
The authors did an amazing job at presenting the dilemmas the characters faced while still keeping the humor. Hot Flashes, mood Swings and love…oh my. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and can’t wait to continue the series.

I really enjoyed this from the standpoint of the characters are facing new life scenarios, they are older. It was refreshing not to have a prime twenty something but characters that appeal to another generation. At times this book lost my attention briefly but there were also parts where I was all in and couldn’t put it down.
Kaitlyn with a K is good at what she does but second guesses herself and worries too much about what other people think. Don’t we all?!?!
Hot Shot or Ben or Banks depending on the day is a hockey star that seems to be up shits creek due to age but can he salvage his career with the help of the right agent?
Is it a coincidence that the lady he met in the airport is the women he needs ten years later?!?

Kaitlyn is a sports agent in a man’s world of hockey, and has to be as badass as it sounds like she does to deal with the alpha males in the sport. She started in football under a highly misogynistic male boss, Ed, but put up with all the comments and BS associated with women in a men’s highly competitive sport because she knew she wanted to end up being an agent with her own company.
As she is rushing through the airport to meet up with her first hockey player who took a shot on her, she meets an insanely attractive man named Ben at the airport bar and they had a great day eating grilled cheese sandwiches and sitting next to one another on the flight. They both walked away with many secrets they didn’t share and many thoughts of one another into the following day – when Kaitlyn meets Banks on the ice as she meets the team of her new athlete. Things go from having great chemistry, a lot of fun and positive thoughts to quickly making enemies of one another. They spend the next decade absolutely devastating each other with the horrible burns they dish out when they aren’t totally ignoring and avoiding each other.
10 years later, Kaitlyn has 3 players on the team, Banks is the oldest player at 38 with bad habits that make him look like he doesn’t take his job seriously, contract negotiations in the very near future and a retiring agent who has dropped him. The retiring agent just so happens to be Ed, and Kaitlyn is offered the suggestion of picking up Banks so he can finish his career with a bang. In addition to making herself look like a goddess in the world of agents, she also would get to make Ed look bad, negotiate a ton of money for making Banks look great, and offer herself a challenge in the meantime. While it takes a touch of work and help from his best friend, Banks takes Kaitlyn up on her offer.
The 2 have incredible chemistry, incredible dislike for one another, a passion for hockey and an absolutely hilarious cast of characters that offer laugh out loud fun for this super quick read. I planned to read a bit at a time but I couldn’t put this book down and finished it within a day. Absolutely recommend. Fantastic fun, funny and steamy read.

I liked this, I love a good romance and this didn’t disappoint! It follows Laramee and Jamie as they are thrown together. Laramee’s parents are thinking of selling the family home and Jamie has been tasked with assessing its potential value and seeing what work needs to be done to get it ready to sell. Both have baggage they are still holding onto but as they work together on the property they are drawn together. This is a lovely story, beautifully written in gorgeous surroundings. I love a good romance and this was right up my street, thoroughly enjoyed it!

Banks and Killer Kaitlyn are a power couple, except they are not a couple in that sense of the word. They are beautiful, funny, sexy and flawed and determined. However, time is ticking for them both. Banks is aging and his hockey career is in jeopardy and for Kaitlin, she is aging and her hopes of becoming a mother are slipping away as her eggs begin to become “seasoned”. Working together may get Banks the deal of a lifetime, but can they also make Kaitlin’s dreams come true.
As a hockey fan, the references to the game and the players’ positions were spot on. Being of the perimenopausal group, those symptoms are spot on as well!
So glad this is a series! Looking forward to reading more hockey stories!

This author never fails at heart breaking, heart mending and heart warming stories. And boy oh boy does this story have all the feels. It is sweet, funny, satisfying with a touch of heavenly influence.
This story is about forgiveness, hope, love, 2nd chances and family.
“No matter who you choose to pursue, don’t sit back and hope love finds a way. Sometimes, we must open a way for love to work.”
So many relationships dynamics, friends, father-daughter, mother-daughter, father-son, brothers, brother-sister. Communication, understanding, forgiveness and love is needed for all of these relationships to work.
Discovering things about yourself helps create a better person. Sharing those things isn’t always in the best interest of others. Jamie and Laramee discover how to love and believe in not only each other but themselves as well.
The title of this book leads us to believe there are others in this series so I am looking forward to discovering those and reading more from this author.

The Better Man by Laurie Lewis introduces us to a family, a realtor, and an ex who is trying to find his way back into the picture. I really wasn’t too sure what to expect when I picked up a copy of this book to read, but I will say I wasn’t disappointed at all! Laurie took two characters who had some big time, real struggles in and with their past lives, some crazy family dynamics, a ranch, and so much more! Apparently, this is the second book in the series, (I am notorious for not ever reading the first book!) and I really felt like this could be read as a stand-alone. But I will say that I’m going back and am going to read the first book since some of the not main characters (lol) are mentioned in this book. Laramee, finds herself going back to Colorado after receiving a disturbing phone call from her mother about her father’s health and the issues that her parents have had come up. Jamie is a realtor who is just trying to do is job and appraise the house and ranch properly and quite honestly has no idea what is in store for him! Laramee and Jamie have a rocky, funny and honestly, not very cute start to their “relationship”. It seems that each time they run into each other, it’s more humorous than the first time! At first, Laramee seems like the uptight, snotty, wound-up kind of character, but once you learn about what she is facing, you definitely warm up to her! Now as for Jamie….he seems to be such a sweetheart, he’s patient, kind and has an all-around good guy demeanor to him. He gets where Laramee is coming from with her family issues, he has been there and knows all about what she is currently facing. I really enjoyed reading about how they had a rocky start and it slowly started to build into a friendship and more. There is a sweet romantic dynamic between our two main characters that continues to build throughout the story. But one thing that really got me was how the author put themes of healing, learning and friendships into the storyline. She made me feel like we don’t have to be alone and struggle, there’s always that someone who can help you heal. And just so you don’t think it’s all about sadness and struggles, there is plenty of humor and fun throughout the story to keeping it well balanced. But don’t take it from me…. pick up a copy for yourself and get lost in the story about Laramee and Jamie!

This is a great addition to this series, and I didn’t want to put it down. With a mystery to solve, and a ghost to help, and a love story to watch unfold, what more could you want? I enjoyed Touched from the very start! Curious fairies and everything mythical is where it’s at. Definitely not your typical romance! Getting to know the characters and also go on their journey to love and battling their enemies is a rollercoaster. I love getting the perspective of both main characters. Can’t wait for the next one!

This was my first hockey romance and I’m glad I jumped on the band wagon. This was a steamy, enemies to lovers, slow burn. With a meet cute in the beginning.
Kaitlyn assigns herself as Banks’ new agent to try and save his career, which is plummeting due to his age and other agents dropping him. They agree to work together to get back at his old agent, who Kaitlyn also has a connection to. Over ten years, there’s a lot of tension and built up grumpiness from both sides, but once Banks shows who he really is under his tough exterior and they stop trying to push each other away, they both end up falling. Great characters, great banter.
I was already a fan of Sylvie Stewart, so when I saw this come out I knew I had to grab a copy. She and Marika Ray did a fantastic job. Will definitely be reading the others in this series.

Sure As Hell is Book 4 in the Life is Hell Series…and I was so excited to read Jaru and Lark’s story. I highly recommend reading this series in order as the characters intertwine through out each book. The storytelling, unique story and characters….I love this series so much. The feels of paranormal romance with a mix of magic, secrets, revenge, mystery, danger, friends to lovers MM Romance… I loved it all!!
Jaru and Lark have a strong friendship of being best friends…unfolding to the possibility of something more. Jaru is wanting to be more “adult like” and responsible opening a business of his own. Lark wants to spend all their time being with Jaru without “adulting”….but this could cause issue between them when Jaru is trying to be serious. When evil lurks around the corners and secrets are discovered…will Jaru and Lark’s budding relationship be tested or should they remain friends….
I love the characters in this book. Jaru really melted my heart and it broke me with his low self esteem at times…and I love how the characters in the book really support each other, especially when times get a bit tough. I really enjoyed this story so much. Highly recommended!!

Come Home to Death I really enjoyed this book and finished it very quickly. It is intriguing and has some twists that I did not expect, which is always nice in a mystery! I was rather frustrated with Erica at times throughout the book, but I believe the author did a very good job conveying her youth/naivety in the storyline. It was annoying to me how she handled (or didn’t handle) her problems and responded to her aunts when they were helping and looking out for her.

Upon finding out that she is about to become a multimillionaire, Erica also discovers some harsh truths about her husband and realizes she doesn’t really know him at all. After some attempts on her life, and her husband’s murder, she finds herself returning back home, a thing she swore she would never do. However, even there the trouble follows her and intensifies. Happy endings and a new love wrap up this book nicely.

Murder on West Main: A South Shore Mystery by I. M. Foster was a really good book! I was hooked throughout the entire book, it kept a decently fast pace and the tone of the book reflected the attitudes of the time very accurately. When a universally disliked man in a small town is unexpectedly found to be the victim of a homicide, there are many suspects, and no one is shedding any tears over the man. Primary suspect, and who found him at the scene, is Colin Brissedon, brother of Kathleen Brissedon who is the love interest of the town physician and coroner- and lead investigator on this case. When Kathleen insists on doing some investigating of her own, things start to get interesting. Intrigue and romance, danger lurking in the shadows, and witty dialogue. This book was a really good read and I loved the historical accuracies and how they were later explained in further depth at the end of the book.

Barbara thought she was in the begging of the next stage of her life only to have it fail fully in heartbreak. At thirty-one she envisioned a different path and she is beginning to question the carefully fabricated life she has lead with her father’s push towards excellence in everything she does. Meeting Sebastian is a breath of fresh air, he is completely different than any man she has met. Barbara begins to open her eyes as a successful black woman she thought she had gained everything on merit, but she couldn’t be more wrong. Everything changes for Barbara and she starts to forge the life she wants for herself which includes Sebastian.
One of the terrific things about this book is the growth in Barbara, reading her transformation was inspiring and thought provoking. The chemistry between Barbara and Sebastian was wonderful. I loved Sebastian’s story as well but Barbara was the stand out for me. Fantastic story.

This is the first book that I have read by this author and it certainly will not be the last one. Once I started reading I just could not put it down.
Laramee got call from her parents about selling their farm. They wanted to give her and her brother a chance to take over the ranch if that’s what they chose to do.
As she is driving she runs into Jamie, who is the real estate broker that they have hired to access the property for them.
I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait to read another book by her.

Barbara devastated by finding her fiance cheating has given her wedding venue to one of her best friends. While at the destination wedding she meets Sebastian, former bad boy turned lawyer. Barbara’s parents always told her she had to work harder than her white counterparts to get places in life. Sebastian is a white man, not Barbara’s usual interest.
This isnt the usual genre I read but I figured I would give it a shot. I like Romance but typically read romantacy. This book was more real. It had real scenarios, real feelings, real loss, hurt and pain but also growth, love, and potential happiness. It’s a nice read if you are looking for a romance that is believable, and relatable.

The Ghostly Diva by Sandra L. Young is a romance novel about a Museum assistant director ( Justine Saunders) who can see and speak with ghost. While appraising items at Jackson Maddox’s request, she stumbles on to a family secret. Meanwhile her job may be in jeopardy due to budget cuts. While trying to navigate her own life, she helps Jackson navigate the revelations of his family and may be falling in love.
I absolutely love Justine. Shes smart, tactful and sweet. She’s open to change and she’s helpful. Jackson once the layers are peeled back is a real stand up guy. The supporting characters all have great personalities and you definitely get that small town feel. Everyone knows your business but they have your best interest at heart. The Ghost in the story is spunky, fierce and very insightful.
I highly recommend this story for any romance reader. There is some adult content but it isn’t too raunchy. I smiled slot while reading the book. The interactions between the characters are delightful. 5 stars!

The first book in the series was a delightful read, and this one was even more enjoyable. I found myself completely immersed in the story, eagerly turning the pages to see what would happen next. It was a truly satisfying experience.
Banks and Kaitlyn met at the airport 10 years ago and shared a sweet, memorable flight together. Little did they know they would meet again, and a misunderstanding would color their relationship for the next decade. Gone was the sweetness and bitterness, and possibly hate replaced it. Now, all they do is snipe at one another.
Banks is the oldest player on his hockey team, and his reputation isn’t the greatest either. He has just been dropped by his agent and desperately needs another one before he is traded. It looks like his old enemy, Kaitlyn, holds his fate in her hands. If anyone can turn his reputation around and make him into “the golden boy,” it’s her. She also wants to stick it to Banks’s ex-agent as he is her old boss and always treats her differently because she is a woman. Can they put aside their differences for their common goal? What’s with the annoying attraction they are beginning to feel for each other?
I was deeply moved by Banks and Kaitlyn’s journey. They were a couple in the making, even if they were oblivious to it. The realization that their past misunderstanding had clouded their perceptions of each other was a poignant moment. Banks was not the immature ‘man child’ she had labeled him, and she was not the ‘ice queen’ he had believed her to be. Their gradual falling in love was a beautifully crafted slow burn that I couldn’t help but root for.
As I said, I’m a huge fan of this series This fabulous writing team keeps getting better! They created a great pair of main characters and a hilarious cast of secondary ones. I can’t wait to see what the next book holds.

An enjoyable and engaging read which kept me happily turning the pages. Barbara, a confident Black lawyer balances her career within the NYC corporate world with family expectations. Sadly whilst her career is going well her engagement ends leaving her heartbroken. Barbara decides to go alone to the island paradise where the wedding was going to be, as the destination wedding is non-refundable. Here she meets Sebastian, also a lawyer and they have an instant connection. Although they come from different worlds, Barbara from a moneyed background and Sebastian from a poor family the couple see past their differences. Sebastian is then given the job meant for Barbara and she suspects it’s due to racial discrimination. When Barbara challenges her boss in court the couple find themselves on opposite sides of the battle. However, although Sebastian is supportive of Barbara their love is tested as they decide what they will risk for justice. I was hooked throughout by this fast paced contemporary romance, which along with a spicy love story also deals with social justice. I love that Barbara is a strong, independent heroine who is not afraid to stand up for what she believes in. The chemistry between her and Sebastian really came across in the narrative, and I liked how their relationship developed throughout the story.

This book is a brilliant addition to the series and I found it to be fun and entertaining right from the start. The book is definitely all about the characters and their connection. I found it so easy to relate to them both. They were engaging and I loved watching their connection develop. The book is a really well written story and really fits in with the rest of the series well. The author builds up the story as the book goes on and I found myself invested in the outcome. I really enjoyed everything about the book and I it definitely made me want to read more from this author in the future.
