A Tale of Two Crushes by Cori Cooper. This is such a cute young adult romance. Its the story of Holland a high school student who has to move to a new school and at her old school she has never met a boy she really liked. On her first day at her new school she meets Asher and he is everything her dream boyfriend would be. She is in love. Then a few days later her locker gets stuck and hunky guy named Chandler helps her get it unstuck. She is smitten with Chandler as well. She is amazed that she is in love with two perfect guys already. Then Holland finds out they are fraternal twins throwing a wrench in the whole situation. Trying to decide between the boys is almost impossible but she sets out to try to pick one. Along the way she has some family drama and dealing with that takes her head out of the boyfriend situation. Which twin will Holland pick? Read this sweet love story to find out!

This is a really good book. I feel like the author was able to cram so much information into this book, that it really could have lasted longer. It is a very quick read and an amazing short story. There is so much depth logged onto the pages that you don’t really notice how short of a story it is. This book will definitely leave you craving for more. There are so many different paranormal things happening in this book that it could really take you anywhere at any given moment. There are vampires, werewolves, witches and romance. The magic that these characters have and the suspense that they are involved in is what kept me turning the pages. The romance didn’t feel forced but really flowed well with the story line. This book is just really well written and I can’t wait to read more.

We meet Shannon who has just awoken to unfamiliar surroundings after spending far too long in cryogenic stasis. With the destruction of Earth a millennium ago, and a new threat looming, there are questions that only she can answer, if only she could remember. Throw in an intimidating, yet intriguing alien male, corporate entities, politics, trust factors, high stakes, danger, chemistry, drama, mystery, and tension- and Shannon is about to embark on an epic adventure, as well as finding love against all odds.

Tasha and the Biologist is the second book in A Better Man series by Amy Q. Barker. Having loved her previous books, I happily one-clicked a copy, and set off to explore the Granger Pond Wildlife Preserve with Tasha and Caleb.
Tasha and Caleb are perfect together- not realising at the beginning that they were exactly what the other needed to be ‘whole and help them heal the pain of the past. I loved the small town setting, and the wetlands/nature preserve aspect of the story= as well as all the ‘birding’/nature facts (about Whooping Cranes etc), the real life issues (which gave the story a realistic and believable feel), family, friendship, emotion, the slow-burn romance, taking a chance on love/finding love unexpectedly, the healing power of love, hope, and new beginnings.
It is another heart-warming women’s fiction story that had all the warmth and emotion I was expecting from one of Ms. Barker’s stories.
I am definitely looking forward to Book #3.

Sanctuary by Bree M. Lewandowski is a good book for slow-burner fans but has adult content. The book is a great fantasy read that has spice. The setting is like an old-fashioned story. The main character’s brother was killed while people were distracted because he was her sacrifice. The main character was really romantic. There were some parts in the story that made me question what was happening. This book will keep you intrigued until the very end of the book.

Amy Barker absolutely knows how men are supposed to treat women, it was heartfelt, cozy, and enjoyable. The characters are wholesome and even after experiencing heartbreak they both found they were ready to love again after all. The character development was strong throughout Tasha and The Biologist and the story flowed naturally. I was a little worried I wouldn’t like it due to the birding aspect, but it definitely surprised me. I’m glad to have picked it up.

This was a great 5 star read. I was pulled right into the story. I really liked the characters. Kylian is a quarterback and his dream is to make it big. When all his sick mom wants is for him to find someone to love. By a twist of fate, he meets Gia. Gia and Kylian come up with a plan to help each other out. Will they be able to keep their hearts out of it? Or will they get a HEA? Overall, I really enjoyed this book. All of the characters added a great element to the story. I look forward to reading more from this author and series. 1-click and get started today.

There is also a growing attachment to him that she did not see coming ever! Her goal right now is to save the planet but his is to destroy it. How will they ever get on the same page. Who can Shannon trust when she is not sure at every turn. People and places are not as they seem and she is tired but knows she has to succeed at this mission. When Shannon realizes the only person she can truly trust is D’lane she has to rely on instinct and hopefully they will end up with the same goal in mind. Will Shannon succeed in saving the planet? Due to an incident with her Grandma, Holland has to up and move to Arizona, despite living in Durango her entire life. She had to start over at a new school and make new friends. On her first day she meets Asher, and sparks fly immediately. But a few days later she meets Chandler and he also has good qualities. She soon finds out these two boys are twins and are known to compete against each other. She doesn’t want to be another one of their trophies but she is still fairly attracted to them both. So they cut a deal and try to win her over.
This story had me laughing out loud and I didn’t want to put it down. I loved the characters and writing. Being from Arizona myself made this even better. Will definitely read more from this author.

After Petra’s brother is announced as dead by supposedly killing himself, Petra takes it upon herself to find out the truth. She does not think he would do that. She goes to the Cloistered City to follow in her brother’s footsteps. Petra slips into the role as a courier and tries to discover more about her brother’s time here.

She meets Rand, a captain in the Shivalry. He seems different from the rage filled fighters that the Shivalry normally have in their ranks. Petra is instantly intrigued by his unique eyes and can’t seem to get him out of her mind since meeting him. In the middle of the Festival of the Late Harvest Moon, Rand brings Petra to a magical garden where Petra accidentally bonds the two together using an ancient incantation.

The pair need to work together and get used to a new life together even though they are from completely different places. Will love prevail or will the empire find a way to destroy them.

I really enjoyed Petra and Rand as characters. The author did a wonderful job with the character growth of both, together and alone. The way they built the world made it come to life. I also really enjoyed the internal monologue.

I honestly think the author could potentially write a second book with these characters. There are some loose ends and the world is big and interesting enough to continue on.

Oh man, I loved this story. Kylian has his hands full. The story is full of romance and drama. Waiting to see if Gia could help him drew me in right from the start. My heart was breaking for him because he’s being pulled in so many ways. This is a wonderful series that I can tell is going to be a must have. It’s full of drama, romance, big emotions and lots of “what am i going to do?: The story has a great flow. I love the dual POV. It has well=written characters.

If you have the opportunity to read this series in order I would recommend starting with book one.

I enjoyed this book. It is book three in a series and I did not read the first two books, but found that I had no trouble reading this book out of order. I think that the back story and understanding of characters in books 1 & 2 would’ve added to the story, but it was not necessary in order to enjoy the book. I liked the dynamic between Abby and Joe. Abby has a secret and Joe knows something is amiss. Navigating through the situation provided a good story to follow and I found this to be a quick and easy read. I did feel that the ending was a bit rushed and the author could’ve developed the story following the revealing of secret and the aftermath a little bit more. But overall, I still enjoyed the book.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story. The fluff was adorable, and even the one spicy scene was incredibly sweet. Would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys paranormal fluff.

Bree has woven a tangled web of secrets and lies in this dark themed fantasy romance. This world is not a simple world it is full of armies and battles, ancient spells, myth and forbidden magic, emperor’s, slaves, ancient prophecies and ancient gardens.
Petra’s life was nothing to rave about but now she had a reason to go beyond it a vow she made. Finding the truth, the reason for her brother’s death and there is only one way to do that. What she didn’t expect was to come face to face with destiny and her fickle ways. She now finds herself inadvertently tied to one Captain Rand Tsenturian of the Third Shivalry. Will Petra find the answers behind her quest, or will she be disappointed?
Captain Rand Tsenturian is bound to the Cloistered City he had no idea one mysterious woman would change all that. A woman who is looking to get herself killed if she wasn’t careful. But what she does stuns him.
When I came upon the ending I wanted more. I felt robbed. There was so much more that could be explored and fleshed out. I also have unanswered questions, I felt things were left unresolved like why there were not punishments for particular crimes/events, because I wanted justice, I wanted consequences to be doled out. I wanted ar$es to be kicked.

From the minute I read the blurb, this book gave me Demolition Man vibes, which I absolutely loved. The premise of this story was great. Waking up years in the future and having to jump into action made of an exciting story. There was so much packed into this book, it really keeps you hooked from start to finish.
I thought the connection between the characters was great. It was strong from the moment they met and meant you became invested in them. This is a well written story by an author I really enjoy. I would suggest this is a book worth reading.

Abby has to decide if she’s going to let the town in on her secret so she can claim her land she has rights to, or let it go and keep up her persona. Joe has had a bad vibe about Abby since she moved to town, he just can’t figure out what it is about her that’s sparking his skepticism. When Abbys secret does come out Joe realizes he may have been wrong about her and doesn’t want her to be shunned for something she didn’t have control over. This was a good small town clean romance. I still need to read the second book in this series but I enjoyed book one and three

Isla Vaughn is one of my current favorite authors and I never hesitate to pick up one of her books. Her newest series is the Fall Lake Ballers Series, centered around college football players and their love lives. The first of the series is Quarterback Keeper. Isla Vaughn’s writing and world building is superb, throwing the reader into the middle of Chicago, home of Fall Lake University. Kylian is the star quarterback, juggling football, his mother’s illness, and his father’s ruthlessness. Gia is the stowaway he finds on his private boat who is running from a violent past. Kylian and Gia’s connection is immediate and just continues to grow, despite several setbacks. The characters are realistic, believable, and I found myself rooting for Kylian and Gia. This fast-paced read was still packed full of drama, romance, secrets, suspense, and a little bit of football. I can’t wait to read the rest of the books in the Fall Lake Ballers Series!

Unmasking a Cowgirl is the 3rd book in the Match Made in Montana series. I have read one other, but not the entire series, and while some characters overlap, it can be read and enjoyed as a standalone story. Abby Whit has recently moved to Herd Montana, and has a big secret. She is a descendant of the Whittier family, a family that has all but been exiled from town. She is back, hoping to reclaim a small plot of land still in her family. But, she is afraid of the negativity surrounding her family’s past. Joe is a teacher, as well as trying to develop his standing as a historian. He doesn’t hit it off with Abby, but is paired up with her to help with the food at the biggest event in town. Joe and Abby must learn to put their differences aside and work together. Will Joe be her biggest supporter, or biggest enemy? Time will tell.
I liked both characters, as well as the supporting characters within the story. There isn’t much romance in the story, but I am growing to love Herd and all its residents. Looking forward to the final book in the series.

Kylian is working hard on the field to get an NFL contract that will allow him to care for his mother. Kylian’s mother is dying, and he wants to make her happy…by making her believe that he has found love. The opportunity arises when he finds Gia, a stowaway on his boat. The two believe that they can help each other out via a fake engagement. Kylian will be able to bring happiness to his mother while Gia will have a safe place to stay. However, with Gia’s secrets, and Kylian’s father and Gia’s ex there to add some drama…can these two find something real in their web of lies?

This was another great story by Isla Vaughn. The characters are enjoyable, including the supporting characters. Kylian is so caring and protective of the women in his life….which came through the pages of the story. I will definitely be checking out the next book in the series!

This is the second book I have read by this author and it was marvelously heartfelt! The characters are by far some of my most favorite that I’ve read this year. The strength of this story definitely lies in its character development. Tasha, a bird enthusiast and a nurse, finds herself drawn to Caleb, a biologist with a captivating knowledge of whooping cranes. She is deeply caring while he is charming and vulnerable. I was fully invested in both of these characters almost immediately as the author pulls at your heartstrings. The flow of the story is magnificent as everything unfolds naturally. If you are looking for a touching love story filled with charm and depth, this one should be your next purchase! It is sure to leave you with a renewed appreciate for the beautify of the natural world as well as the fragility of relationships. I can’t wait to see what else this author has in store for us!

Yet his personal life is crumbling around him. His mom is dying of cancer and his father is a S*B. If Kylian doesn’t do as his father demands his mother’s treatment comes to an end. All his mother wants is what is best for him, all his dad wants is what will make his political image look great. All Kylian wants is the open waters on his sailboat! Little did Kylian realize that he had a stowaway on his boat. Gia/ Aurora was running for her life and finally found a place to hide out. No one had been to the boat in over a week so she felt safe until she wasn’t. Kylian realizes he has someone on his boat but realizes so much more! Gia needs a place to stay and Kylian needs his mother to believe he has found love. However, could there ever be a happy ending with Kylian’s father and Gia’s past catching up with her? Could a deal of convenience end up with these two actually in love?
This is yet another example of what an amazing author can do with a computer and a great ability to make characters and stories come to life!! Keep them coming because this author is AMAZING!!

Quinnlan has been given a second chance from the paranormal gods – if he can find a mate that accepts him in the next 3 days, he will not have to return to purgatory. When he is dumped at a motel in the middle of nowhere, his chances of finding a mate are bleak. However, thanks to some werewolves wreaking some havoc, he is forced to choose on saving a man’s life and potentially creating a bond with someone who could reject him. Does he save a life and risk returning to purgatory? Or letting him die and continuing on his quest before time runs out?

This was a quick m/m paranormal read that I enjoyed reading. It is a different twist in the paranormal realm that was unique and made for a good story.

Quarterback Keeper by Isla Vaughn is a modern fake romance.

Kylian is willing to do anything to make his dying mother happy in her last days. Her one wish is to see him happy in a relationship. He runs into Gia, as a stowaway, on his boat. Gia  has lots of baggage from her previous relationship and is very skittish. They agree on a fake engagement to show Kylian’s mom he is happy and Gia gets a place to sleep and a sense of security. Between Kylian’s shady father and Gia’s ex, their relationship is very messy.

Isla Vaughn did not use a lot of dialogue in this book. It was more mental thoughts that portrayed the scenes. Because of that, you didn’t get a strong connection between the characters. It felt like the main characters had more of an inner battle with themselves that outshined their external feelings.

This is a new series by an author that I have enjoyed reading from the first book I picked up by this author. I enjoy this author’s writing style and her creative, steamy characters. Lies and secrets tear relationships apart but will this happen to Gia and Kylian? Will they find a way to build a future or tear one apart? I enjoyed both of these characters. They took me on an emotional rollercoaster like no other. I enjoyed watching their growth as well as their chemistry throughout the story. They are connectable, relatable and kept me turning pages fast just to see what would happen next. This is a hard to put down story that you don’t want to miss. I look forward to seeing what is next for this series. I highly recommend this book.

This was a really great read. My first from this author. Poor Aurora and Kylian. Both are dealing with some heavy issues. Deep enough that they both have trust issues. I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
