Divinely Dramatic (Divine Vintage Series) by Sandra L. Young – Review by Beverly Finnie

Divinely Dramatic (Divine Vintage)Divinely Dramatic by Sandra L. Young
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Just a little haunting that’s all, or is it? Divinely Dramatic has a lot going on. And I enjoyed what the author was presenting but it did get confusing at times. Giving the read characters with so much depth that are also gifted. Gifted in a way that they have a special ability. Reading auras, connecting with the unknown, ect. Reading this book was a happy accident and I’m glad I took the chance.
Marcy has been given an opportunity that could go very right or all kinds of wrong. She’s been drafted by her friend to costume a play in her absence. What she wasn’t expecting was a floating white aura and a possible connection to a 50 year curse that she’s determined to figure out sooner rather than later. However once she’s cast in the play in the very role of the person who died she’s determined to come to a conclusion.
Mike lost a bet. Now he has to direct a play not of his choosing. He’s going to do everything in his power to make it successful. However, between Marcy throwing off his senses and unusual happenings around the theater, will he succeed? There’s also the matter of his girlfriend. Art imitating life. It’s hitting rather close to home, meaning their presence and the entity living through similar experiences.
The author gave the reader an interesting adventure. One with laughter, happiness, sadness, and love. I look forward to checking out more books in the future.

Savage Truth (Hidden Valley Elite Series) by Isla Vaughn – Review by RitaWhite

Savage Truth: A Dark High School Bully Romance (Hidden Valley Elite Book 2)

Another fantastic read!

Savage Truth is the second book in The Hidden Valley Elite series.

This book continues with Riley and Cole and their love and hate relationship. A lot gets unpacked in this book, and the author does a good job of unpacking it and bringing it all out to where you can’t put the book down. Riley finally gets the truth about her biological father, who is not a nice guy and gets to lay this part of her life to rest. Now on to college!

When Tess Burton moves to Michigan City and opens her own vintage clothing store, she can’t possibly foresee the changes that are headed her way. On her first day of business, an elderly woman, Esther DeLeon, and her nephew, Trey Dunmore, walk into her store, to inform her of a fashion show featuring clothing from the early 20th century at Esther and Trey’s family home, Carver House. Tess agrees to model, but does not expect to be swept up into a mystery that nobody knew existed. The story had always been that Edward Carver had killed his young bride, Phoebe, on their wedding night, and then himself. However, Tess discovers, through flashes of history brought to her by touching belongs of Phoebe’s including the gown that she is to wear for the fashion show, as well as from Phoebe’s diary, that the story that had always been accepted, may not be accurate. When Trey begins to have similar visions, though he is not open to them at first, the pair must try to sort out the mystery as well as their own feelings for each other and rather or not they are being influenced by the feelings of the deceased couple. This is an excellent book, with great characters and world building. This is both a mystery and a guaranteed happily ever after with ghosts and supernatural elements to keep you guessing.

Marcy Alexander helps her mom, due to her arthritis, works two part time jobs, at a deli and at Divine Vintage, and has gotten herself roped into helping with costuming for a local theater’s production of The Importance of Being Earnest by a friend, Justine, who was going to do the work, but ended up going out of town with her husband to Hollywood to consult on a movie. When Marcy walks in, the director, Mike Figueroa, has minimal faith in her abilities because she is an unknown in the theater community. When his lead actress disappears, and she is also asked to step up and read lines, initially for practice, then for good, he is surprised to find that she has many talents. Marcy has an ability to see aura’s, which she didn’t have before her boss at Divine Vintage, Tess Burton, discovered her ability to see visions of the past by touching objects that once belonged to or were used by, the people involved. When Marcy goes into the costume loft and discovers a bright light that has no known source, she realizes it is a spirit trying to communicate with our world to find peace. With the help of her friends, Justine and Tess, along with Tess’s husband Trey, Marcy must try to figure out why this spirit needs her help and how to help her. This book is the second book in the Divine Vintage series, and is a great follow up with the same excellent storytelling, world building and characters, though it can also be read as a stand-alone. Part mystery and part romance, this one will keep you guessing until almost the end.

Isla Vaughn is an amazing author, and has quickly become one of my favorites. The Hidden Valley Elite series is one of the best series I’ve read in a long time. I love the characters, the world building, the storytelling is amazing. I truly feel like I’m in high school again when I’m reading. I love Riley and Cole’s story. I loved the animosity and the buildup and the everything about it. If you love the drama, the heat, the everything, you’ll love this story. I absolutely suggest this book (and all the others) for you to read! You wont be disappointed!!!

I absolutely loved reading the conclusion of Cole and Riley’s story. Riley has done everything to get under Cole’s skin. Even when they are now living under the same roof since their parents are getting married. Cole wants to absolutely destroy her, but he can’t help the feeling that has wormed its way into his heart. The conclusion was amazing and was like fireworks exploding. Their ending was well-deserved and fitting in my eyes. I was a little sad to see their story end because I had gotten attached to them. But I can’t wait to see what else Isla has in store for her readers next!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Curse of Jean Lafitte was such a fun book! I love historical books, but when they collide with the present day it so much fun to read. The world building was awesome and so much detail was given for the characters, yet it never got bogged down or slow. Right from the beginning I was hooked, and could not put the book down! Would absolutely read more by this author.

When I first read the synopsis for this book I was instantly drawn to the story and I really did enjoy it. I loved Marcy so much, she was such a great, fun character to read about. The story was really entertaining and it definitely kept my attention from beginning to end. The authors writing was really great, I could certainly imagine all of the lovely vintage things she was describing, I love the 60’s and it was great to be transported back there with this story through their love of vintage fashion and the mysterious goings on of 1966!
I can’t wait to read more from this series!

Shadowed Deception: A Psychological Suspense Thriller (Shadow Defense Security Series) by Mavery Ellscott – Review by Jenni Bishop

Shadowed Deception: A Psychological Suspense Thriller (Shadow Defense Security Book 3)Shadowed Deception: A Psychological Suspense Thriller by Mavery Ellscott
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Mavery Ellscott has quickly become one of my go to authors. She is one author readers should get behind. After reading the first book Shadowed Obsession I was hooked. You can read each standalones, but I encourage you to read them in order because the characters interchange and you really will be missing out on all the delicious darkness. The stories just keep getting better and better.
Shadowed Deception is the third gripping book in the Shadow Defense Security series, and I think my favourite so far which hard because they have all been my favourite. I love the thrill of strong alpha males in protective mode and equally strong female leads.
I love a riveting suspense thriller, and this is one thrilling ride with twisty and surprising turns. I found myself on the edge of my set more often than not as the tension is palpable. Lets not forget the hot and sexy ex SEALs.
The characters are well developed and interesting and plot lines that are dark and gritty but feel believable. It is a captivating and engrossing, and an absolute must read you won’t be disappointed.
I need more now. I love a good psychological suspense thriller and Mavery delivers.

I loved the breath-holding moments that had you waiting to see what was coming. The topic of human trafficking has made for some amazing stories and this author did a fantastic job with it. I really hope we get a story about Seb and Alexis. I think there could be something there, just saying. This is a book that will have you so sucked in that you’ll feel you are part of the story. The cast of characters is so well0developed. They feel so relatable and just real. I highly recommend this.

Mavery Ellscott’s first foray into writing was not romantic suspense. She wrote and published a neighborhood newspaper. A pretty big endeavor for an eight-year-old armed with scrap paper and her dad’s old typewriter. Total circulation—two. Fortunately, her later publications fared better. She’s even made it beyond the first round in a contest or two.

A conservationist, Mavery has won a few environmental awards. So, it’s no surprise she yearns to write a high-speed chase with eco-friendly cars.

Savage Truth (Hidden Valley Elite Book 2) by Isla Vaughn – Review by Kristin Boutelle

Savage Truth (Hidden Valley Elite #2)Savage Truth by Isla Vaughn
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The book starts right where it left off from the previous book, Savage Lies. The way this book is written will keep you on edge and will keep you on your toes, so that you will need to know what’s happening next. There is a lot going on at the same time between the main characters, Cole and Riley. I like how the author goes back and forth between the characters, it does give a sense of how they each relate to what’s going on in the story. Overall, as you start this series, be prepared not to get much done around the house.

If you haven’t read anything from this author, do yourself a favor and pick this up! Although this is the fourth book in the Philly Heat series, you can absolutely read it as a standalone. I find myself hoping this author continuously releases books because they always surprise me! We get to read about Hannah and Doyle in this installment, and they both stole my heart right away. Emotions run high in this book as Hannah’s brother was tragically murdered, and Doyle is looking to do all he can to protect her from harm. I loved seeing their relationship evolve and the chemistry between them is electrifying! As with the previous books, I devoured this in one day because it’s a story you simply can’t stop in the middle of. It’s fast-paced, the tension is high, and the characters are divine. I highly recommend picking this book up without hesitation, and you’ll soon see why I rave about this author. I have a feeling you’ll be running to pick up the rest of the series afterward! It took me a little bit to find my groove in the story, but once I did, I couldn’t put it down. One of my favorite parts of this book is the characters. They are strong, unique, quirky and all over relatable. The book itself has plenty of tense situations, danger, suspense, and romance. What would you do if you uncovered a serial killer’s secrets? That’s the big question here. I won’t give anything away but do yourself a favor and get lost in this thrilling romantic suspense this afternoon. You’ll be glad you did! This author comes with a very high recommendation from me!

This is the second book in the Philly Heat Series although you can read it as a standalone. It is simply phenomenal! I devoured this book in one day because I had no choice. I couldn’t put it down, I was addicted. The author has vaulted to the top of my watch list, and I’ll be picking up any and everything they release. This is a fast-paced story that will hook you from the beginning and never let go. After reading the synopsis and knowing it will include determination to bring a child killer to justice, you know it will be captivating. Emotions ran high and I’m not ashamed to admit that I shed tears here and there in some parts, but I won’t spoil any part of this marvelous book. Getting to know Lexi and Xavier and being wrapped up in their world was exhilarating to say the least. The characters were incredibly well-developed, and the plot has nothing missing. What an amazing start to the series! This is the first book in the Philly Heat Series and my first story from this author altogether. I have to say that I TRULY enjoyed the differing points of view throughout the entire book. Kylee and Jayson seem to personify the saying of “opposites attract” because they have had quite different childhoods. She is a police officer with the mindset of everyone and everything fits into a box. But will Jayson help her see that not everything can be that straightforward? This book caught me by surprise several times with the twists and turns the author has cleverly placed. If you are looking for an amazing romantic suspense read, this should absolutely be your next book!

Dancing Butterfly is the second book in the Butterflies Fly Free Series. This one follows Suki that we met for a short time in book 1, although it is something of a prequel as well. While in book 1, Suki was already with Frank, in book 2 it shows their meeting and the beginning of their relationship.
This was an easy read and enjoyable, light on the spice so would be appropriate for YA. I do love books that take a unique time period and bring it to life and this series does that well.

Just a fair warning again , if you don’t take to dark , depraved , violent reads avoid this and if this is your first rodeo start at the beginning role you’ll be doing yourself a hugs injustice ( just saying )

Yes my little dark heart still loves Kingston , I know I’m weak and I think Ava really is the only one that gets me 🥰😱🙈

Kingston and Ava are the definition of love to hate and hate to love the push and pull between these 2 had me screaming , shouting , chewing my nails to the bit and breaking out in hives !

I almost enjoyed this round more 🤫😉

This was a great 5 star read. The author has once again pulled me in and I didn’t want to put it down until I was done. If you like paranormal with some darkness thrown in, this is the series for you. The intense battle with rogue vampires continues and Master Botosoni unexpectedly finds his mate. Catina is a psychic who can see the future, when she meets Master Botosoni things change. You can feel the attraction between these two coming off of the pages. Will she be able to help?

Overall I thoroughly enjoyed this read. We get so much suspense, danger, steaminess and so much more. All of the secondary characters added a great element to the story. We see several from previous books in the series. I will warn that there is a cliffhanger ending. If you are looking for a great series to read 1-click and get started today. A King So Savage (The Savage Duet #1)A King So Savage by April Moran
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Oh be still my beating heart and shattered nerves ! Ava and Kingston were the reason my blood pressure was sky high and my heart beat so erratic 😱🔥

Kingston is a man who wants what he wants and if he can’t buy it it get it willingly he’ll take it and Ava is no different , he wants her , he claims her , he owns her ! He is savage . He is cruel . He is dominant. He is dark . He is a bully .
I can’t help but have a soft spot for him because every “ monster” has a story of how and why they are who and what they are and every “ monster” has a weak spot and Ava will soften Kingston .

I don’t want to focus on Ava’s brother Carson because he’s a waste of space and shouldn’t be allowed to breathe the air we do and it’s because of him Ava is in the predicament she is and that make me sick to to pit of my stomach but my “ dark side” wants to say thank you because she has Kingston and he’ll go to the ends of the earth for her ( yes for his reasons but she’s still his priority ) I know my twisted side likes to comes out and play 🙈🤣🔥

I could just feel Ava’s initial confusion when she comes out of her drugged state , I could feel her her fear , frustration , humiliation and hurt and the story unfolds , Ava has some fight in her though I remember her attacking Kingston in the beginning with an ornament and she gets quite fierce and feisty and she wasn’t easily subdued🤣🤩

If dark, sadistic , violent and mature content isn’t for you avoid this or at least try and look past it and see the characters and their story , see the bond that Kingston had with Garrett ( Ava’s dad) see the pain these people have to experience in their lives , see what it’s made them and how they’ve overcome it … see why I love them 😍

I have loved every book in the Masters of the Consulate series so far, and this ranks as one of my favorites! While you could read this as a stand-alone, there are characters from other books included so it can help get the full effect reading them all. Plus, once you read one, you’re bound to go back and scoop up the rest of the series! With plenty of danger, mystery, romance, and of course, vampires, the author has created a truly remarkable tale between Master Botosoni and Catina. Their chemistry together sparks a fire throughout the book, and I couldn’t get enough so much so that I read it all in one go. The only complaint I could possibly have about this one is that I wish it was longer! I am on pins and needles waiting for the 10th book in the series so I can get wrapped up in this world again. I highly recommend picking this up especially if you like paranormal romance!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Master Botosoni is the ninth book in the Masters of the Consulate Series. I’ve read a few books in this series and while some have been in order I’ve also skipped around and while the characters and small things cross over from book to book they can also be read as a standalone story without feeling like you missed out on a lot. Each story that I have read has been solid and well written with complex, interesting characters, and Master Botosoni was no different. I know that when I pick up a dark paranormal romance novel from Sylvia Black I know I am in for a quick, fast paced, edge of your seat, steamy read. I like how Sylvia portrays the men in this series because what is hotter than Bossy, Alpha, fiercely loyal, loving, Vampire men. Of course the FMC, Catina, is falling in love with Master Botosoni. She is also a big asset to the war between the witches, shifters, and humans that is still going on, and havoc is still occurring in all the masters regions. Will the vampires still be standing in the end or will the shifters prevail? Only time will tell. I look forward to continuing this series.

Cole had me cursing his name a lot but you can’t help but understand that underneath it all he’s just hurt by his past. Master Botosoni (Masters of the Consulate #9)Master Botosoni by Sylvia Black
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Master Botosoni is Book Nine in the Masters of the Consulate series. It is a dark vampire fated mates romance with action, suspense, mystery, intrigue, passion, danger, drama, tension, and emotion galore. This book is part of a series with some overlapping details and background information, so I do recommend reading the other books first. However, it can be read as a standalone because the story focuses on its own two main characters and is told from each of their POV. This book is the story of Master Botosoni, a vampire with a thirst for blood, and Catalina, a down-on-her-luck psychic. Master Botosoni will do anything to stop the rogue vampires and as fate would have it Catalina is the one who can lead him to them. Their romance is forbidden but the chemistry between them is off the charts and undeniable. Will Catalina choose Master Botosoni and immortality in the name of love? A great read with high stakes, vampires, witches, shifters, pure bloods, magic, and a feud that has been going on for centuries. Master Botosoni (Masters of the Consulate Book 9) by Sylvia Black – Review by Naomi McDonald

Master Botosoni (Masters of the Consulate #9)Master Botosoni by Sylvia Black
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book could be read as a standalone, but you’ll have a more comprehensive reading experience if you read the previous books.
If you love romance stories about vampires, chances are, you will enjoy this story. It’s got a bit of everything – romance, danger, betrayal, suspense, steamy scenes.
I will also note that I found it interesting how the author blended the old-world vibe in with more modern vibes. Keeps the reading experience fresh.

Master Botosoni (Masters of the Consulate Book 9) by Sylvia Black – Review by Desiree Ottinger

Master Botosoni (Masters of the Consulate #9)Master Botosoni by Sylvia Black
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Master Botosoni has been tasked with hunting down rogue vampires and traitor shifters who have taken up hiding in his region. When his local bosses send him to a known psychic living in his town, he finds himself in the middle of not only a hunt for the enemy, but also a responsibility to save this young woman from her terrible family. The rest of the masters show up with their mates, and the confrontation is set up. Master Botosoni does his due diligence in furthering the mission first, but will it cost him his mate?

I have been reading this series for a while and enjoy this author. The storyline moved quickly and characters from past books played a role in this book. The traitor was a surprise to me and left me wondering if I had misread past books! I would have liked to have had more information about moments in the book, or more set up for things that occurred. It seemed like an event happened and then there was a little bit of information after the fact. This author is usually very thorough with their writing, so I was a little surprised by it. However, because I have read the previous books, I could fill in information on my own. All in all, this installment moved the series forward and is setting up for the finale.
