Simply Irresistible: A Totally Sweet Love Story by Jennifer L. Allen 5 stars
I really loved this book! Two closet decade loving “nerds” meet and it all goes from there. I will say it read pretty fast and that was a sign of a great book. I loved how similar yet different these two were and how well they just meshed. Melanie, loved her. We’ve all been too nervous in certain situations but going to your boss with something so near and dear to her heart, I loved how that played out. And don’t forget Tyler, and his jerk of a boss.
This is a must read, I really enjoyed this and got some laughs too.

What a brilliant introduction to this new author for me. This was such a feel-good read that is heartwarming, sweet, lovable & romantic from start to finish. I was hooked with this read from beginning to end and it was made even better by the characters that Jennifer L. Allen has created. I absolutely loved following their journeys in this read they were both lovable, relatable and you felt as though you were there alongside them with their story. I loved reading about their developing relationship and their connection that grew over, through it all you couldn’t help but wish they would get a HEA.
I can’t wait to see what else this author brings, I know I will definitely be reading more from her with future reads. But until then, I highly recommend this romance read!

Game Changer is a romance comedy by an author that is new to me. There were some very comical moment while reading but also some that made me want to scream. It’s a story that revolves around Poppy and Mac. Poppy gets like a golden opportunity for a career and she takes it to move from Georgia to NYC. Mac is more like the silent type while poppy is like a talkative parrot. There are many other characters that are involved and maybe there is a possible book 2 for involving two of them. I would recommend for anyone that enjoys the rom-com and the banter to pick this book up.

I love this author! Seriously, I don’t feel like I’m reading, I’m immersed in every scene. I enjoyed reading about Poppy and her new adventure moving to New York. Her first weekend in town she gets lost and, well you need to read for yourself as that was one of the best first meetings ever. This had ups and downs and I didn’t expect what happened at all. And I really loved the interweaving of another stories characters from Phoebe Alexander’s Rule Breaker. Will be on the lookout for more from this author as its always amazing.

Simply Irresistible: A Totally Sweet Love Story was my first read by Jennifer L. Allen. It is a super sweet, slow burn, contemporary/friends to lovers romance- with humour, emotion, and fun. Tyler works as an executive assistant for the editor of a men’s magazine. He really hates his job- and his boss is quite a dislikeable person. Tyler has dreams, his ambition is to use this experience to propel him to greater things. He is quite popular with the ladies, but so far has been unlucky in love. He notices a beautiful woman at work, drawn to her gorgeous green eyes- and had been keeping a look out for her ever since. He decides he will need to find a way to get her to go out with him. Melanie works for the same publisher, as the executive assistant for the women’s fashion magazine located in the same building as Tyler. She’s noticed him several times now and is quite intrigued by him. But she’s a little shy and awkward when it comes to social interactions, she can’t even bring herself to even look at him- so she’s going to have to pull up her big girl panties and pluck up the nerve to speak to him. She also has big dreams and can’t wait to put her ideas to work. Melanie loves the 80’s and Tyler is a 90’s guy. Their friendship builds and slowly more develops. What does the future hold for these two? Will they be drawn together in the end, or pushed apart? Will they see their dreams to fruition- or will their dreams be ripped apart? This was a quick and easy read with a great pace and a smooth flow. The characters were very realistic, which made them quite relatable and believable. The story is sweet and touching. Overall, this was a fun and light-hearted read!

Game Changer by Sylvie Stewart is a winner. It is a wonderful romance story that just melts the heart. It is fun, it is hot, it is sad and most of all it has everything needed to keep you in your seat for hours just devouring it and laughing out loud, whilst also trying to keep the tears away in some places. I know whenever Sylvie’s name comes up for reading books I jump at the chance because she never lets me down. I know I am in safe hands as she take me on a journey with characters that you will love and a couple that you will not. If only we could have had more of the story in his POV as well, it would have added so much more value overall to the story but that is my opinion.
Poppy finds herself in a new town with a new job trying to be something she is not. Now she has found the one person she can be herself with, things take a turn she did not see coming.
Mac is a man of few words a little moody, ok he is a lot moody and has dealt with a lot in his life, so when he is thrust in the lime light he doesn’t cope very well. What doesn’t come easily and what he needs is a relationship, one with the beautiful red head, who is a walking contradiction, he cannot get off his mind.

Pure fun. Absolutely 100% couldn’t put it down. This was the perfect book to pick up for my afternoon and I flew through it. The characters – living in the south I ADORED the character of Poppy. All of the characters were extremely well written. This page turner is staying at the top of my list and will be one I gladly pick up on my next lazy afternoon. Wonderful writing – cannot wait to read more from this author.

Simply Irresistible: A Totally Sweet Love Story by Jennifer L. Allen was a fun 5 star read.
Melanie and Tyler work in the same building, they have seen each other several times on the elevator. Tyler finally works up the nerve to ask Melanie to lunch, where they quickly learn they were decade geeks, Melanie the 80’s and Tyler the 90’s.
They both have taken their current jobs, executive assistants as stepping stones to what they really want to do. Tyler does most of the work for his boss and hates him. Melanie designs her own clothes but is too afraid to tell her boss they are her designs.
As they go on more dates, they decide to become exclusive. When Tyler takes Melanie to meet his sister and her husband, she is surprised to see who is brother-in-law is. Wow, didn’t see that coming.
Overall I really enjoyed this book, I had so many LOL moments. I loved the sassiness between them. Neither of them were really looking for love but they were meant to be and made it work so well. I really enjoyed the epilogue and I look forward to reading more from Jennifer L. Allen.

Game Changer by Sylvie Stewart. I have read many many books by this author and I have loved every one of them. I knew this one would be no different. I love Poppy and Mac. I enjoyed how she broke though his rough and tough exterior. There were plenty of times that I wanted to jump into the book and smack the daylights out of Mac. At first he comes off very rough and mean but in actuality, he is just very guarded. I could not put this book down once I started it. I can not wait to see what else Ms. Stewart has for us…. I am hoping for Iris’ book……

Simply Irresistible is the first time I have read anything from Jennifer L. Allen, but I can promise you that it will not be my last experience doing so. I must start with that gorgeous and eye catching cover that graces the book. I probably didn’t even need to read the blurb to know that I needed to find out what the story behind the beautiful cover was like. I am so glad that I jumped right in and can only say that I wish I had found Jennifer L. Allen sooner. I loved that this book incorporated music, something that I love just as dearly as book so this was like having the best of both worlds at my fingertips. I found myself jamming to the 80’s and 90’s for several days after I had finished this book.
Melanie and Tyler are fabulous to read. Their love story is a slow burn that is built on so much more than the first physical attraction they both felt for each other. It is built on support, trust, friendship and so much more that they slowly build together in a fun and sweet way. This book makes romance look sweet and fun again, something that I feel we all tend to get a bit jaded in from time to time. It is nice when you stumble upon something believable and sweet like Melanie and Tyler’s story to jump-start your faith in love and friendship once again. I can’t wait to get my hands on whatever else is available from Jennifer L. Allen while I await the next new release!

Simply Irresistible: A Totally Sweet Love Story by Jennifer L. Allen is a new adult/ romantic comedy. I didn’t know what to expect when I started this book but that didn’t matter because it would have met and exceeded any expectations I had. This book was so enjoyable to read.
Tyler Smith is not someone you would say has trouble with women. The only trouble he has is keeping them but he can admit to himself that’s mostly his fault. Then he sees the green eyed girl on the elevator and he’s intrigued.
Melanie has seen Tyler before. After all, they work in the same building. Melanie is not good with social situations and anytime she sees him she can’t make herself look at him let alone talk to him. Finally they meet officially and Tyler gets the date he was looking for. The only thing that might tear them apart is their love for different decades. Maybe what they say is true – opposites attract.
This story was so sweet and fun. The book leads up to these two meeting and spending time together but there is an instant comfortableness that the characters feel with each other that really added to the story. This was such a good book, I couldn’t put it down.

Simply Irresistible: A Totally Sweet Love story by Jennifer L Allen is exactly what the title says – a totally sweet love story that will pick you up when you feel down and makes you feel good! I have read couple of other books by the writer which I liked very much so I knew when I picked up Simply Irresistible that I would spend couple of fun hours with Melanie and Tyler who are THE couple of the story. I loved how the writer threw together two nerdy professionals – a 80ies fan and a 90ies fan and who have big dreams while plugging away at the same publishing company! They have ambitions and they also have what backs these ambitions up! Add to this all the great New York City and their different backgrounds and you get a fun story where you laugh a lot and suddenly realize that you have fallen in love! So come along and join their journey!

I enjoyed this book from beginning to end. This is one of my favorites by this author. It is a sweet, heartwarming romance that starts out as friendship but grows into something so much more. Tyler and Melanie are strong characters that bring this story to life and made me feel as if I was right there with them. I enjoyed watching their relationship grow throughout the story as well as their chemistry. Will they find their HEA and have their dreams come true? I highly recommend this book.

The story Simply Irresistible: A Totally Sweet Love Story by Jennifer L. Allen is a new adult/romantic comedy. It is a book that I found when reading I frequently had a smile on my face, laughing out loud, or saying “Aww.” It is a story that had my emotions going up and down the entire time. I loved reading about the characters of Melanie and Tyler. They are both young and have dreams other than the current jobs that they are in. They soon find that while they may love different decades of music and entertainment, they also have things in common. There are feelings and emotions between them. Somewhere along the way, they find themselves falling in love. When their dreams get closer to reality what will happen if one of those dreams doesn’t come true? What does the future hold for Melanie and Tyler? Read this book to find out. This is a well-written story that kept my interest from beginning to end. I loved this book so so so much, I met Poppy in Rule Breaker by Phoebe Alexander which if you haven’t read go grab that as soon as possible, the two books work well with each other. Poppy is now one of my favorite female leads. She cracked me up half the time with her inner dialogue and when she was talking directly to me.
Sylvie has a way of grabbing you at the very beginning and slowly transporting you into the story where you forget that anything else is going on around you.
This book had it all and Poppy and Mac had quite a journey, ups and downs and definitely the slow burn the author tells you to expect before beginning. Mac is every girls dream and I fell in love with him immediately, even when he scared me as much as he scared Poppy.
Not going in to the storyline…Just know you need to read this book, it was completely awesome and I know I will read it again in the future.
Can’t wait for the next book I pick up by this author, an automatic one click for me.

Melanie: I can’t even believe I didn’t make eye contact with the guy on the elevator. I’d seen him before in my office building and he was totally awesome to look at. From what I could tell by the way his suit clung to him, he had a hot bod, too. Another missed opportunity! I’m so lame. Next time, I’ll see if he wants to do lunch. I wonder if he listens to 80s music when he works out, because he has got to work out.
Tyler: Dude, that chick in the elevator was mad fine. My sister may think I’m not capable of keeping a relationship, but she’s bugg’n. I’m gonna show the girl with the big green eyes that I’m all that and a bag of chips. Next time I see her, I’m gonna hit her up for sure. I wonder how she feels about watching 90s TV reruns on Friday nights? TGIF!
Melanie and Tyler may be decades apart, but working for the same publishing company brings the irresistible pair together. The ambitious duo is filled with dreams that don’t include being executive assistants for the rest of their lives. Somewhere between the laughter and arguing over which decade brought the better entertainment and fads, they fall in love.
Tension mounts as the pressure and excitement of new opportunities increases and their dreams get closer to becoming a reality…but what happens when one of their dreams doesn’t come true?

Holy mother of David Beckham’s backside this book was great.
GAME CHANGER, has a sense of humor about itself that I found myself highlighting line after line. There are so many elements that are my favorites… Humor, great friends, loving family, a hot guy and a visit to MOMA.
AT 412 pages, this took a little longer than my normal Friday night read yet it was so good that it provided a wonderful escape after a pretty horrible week.
I have always enjoyed this author’s work and I do believe that this is my favorite. Told in single pov the story moves fast, secondary characters add a great element and the cadence is at a great pace.

There are three things I know about New York so far: everybody is late for something, nobody has a freakin’ clue what sweet tea is, and King Kong himself is still alive and well and has taken the form of a growly blacksmith named Mac.
This is no shifter story and I’m not his prey, although I wouldn’t say no if he asked for a little taste. I’ve been saddled with interviewing the beast to secure my new dream job in publishing, but his intense stares and monosyllabic responses are making my job impossible. I just need to get this over with and move on to navigating my new life and career. I’ve got this, right?
But my professional and personal challenges are proving bigger than I realized, and Mac might be the only one who truly understands this game. He’ll be my biggest ally if I let him—and the way he keeps saying my name makes me really want to let him. The thing is, this city is known for breaking hearts, and it doesn’t care if you’re the new girl in town or the beast who calls it home.

Too Hot to Handle (The Catch, Book 3) by Avery Scott was a fun, hot, entertaining read, that had me hooked!
My first read from this author and in this series, I didn’t know what I was getting into. But with it’s enticing cover and raving reviews, I took a chance, and I’m glad I did.
This book was hooking from the start, I love Tony’s voice and his witty sarcastic ways. Gigi, she’s something, and such a wonderful character to read about. Both played off one another perfectly and entertainingly. The overall story reads like a block busting rom-comm, and the detail and steady flow just added to the wonderfullness of this crazy good story. I love how the author took something overused and made it into something new and shiny. These type of books are predictable, so I always love it when authors can take those concepts and make them fresh, and marvelous like a new toy. That my friends is true talent, and love for the craft.
Overall this book is a must read, and if the other book in this series are just as outstanding as this one, I’m going to be binge reading real soon. To end this book gets my super high recommendation and my stamp of approval.

Salty? I mean, it’s better than “f*cking” or “just” but I think it paints an inaccurate picture of my genial personality. I’m assuming that “sexy” or “sophisticated” were too pedestrian or already taken. Joe tells me that I can pretend it’s about how I taste. I ignore that affable deviant as much as possible. Generally, I’m a pretty easy going and friendly guy. My new intern, Kit calls me “Salty” and so I guess it’s a thing now. Joe says I tend to act like an ass around women I’m attracted to.
Am I attracted to Kit? Hell yes and in the past I’ve treated her very well. Several times in one night as a matter of fact. A night we didn’t exchange real names or numbers, it was Vegas, for fuck’s sake.
Maybe I’m a tiny bit salty that I find that the co-owner of my winery, Mikey, hired Kit as our new intern. I’m not the type of guy who sleeps with his interns.
If being stuck working with a woman I’ve been intimate with, who is amazing at her job, yet treats me like I gave her chlamydia pushes me a little in the salty category, then I guess that’s an apt description. Despite her clear displeasure with me now, Kit was once happy in my company. I’m just going to have to figure out if it’s worth making her happy again.
Jen Luerssen grew up in New Jersey and then lived for 20 years in the San Francisco Bay area. She has held various jobs in her adult life. Some examples are nanny, waitress, receptionist, dispatcher, caterer, and finally teacher. She spent 10 years teaching 4th and 5th graders, until she finally felt the call to write. It’s been plaguing her thoughts and dreams for years, and those thoughts finally fought their way out.
Jen loves to read, obsessively. She has an unhealthy attachment to her Kindle and is rarely seen without it. She’ll read anything, but especially loves good smut or a post-apocalyptic young adult book.
After “retiring” from teaching, Jen sat down and wrote a book and then another and another and it was the most fun she’s ever had working. She is self-published even though she’s not sure how it works and hopes that people like her funny stories.
Jen is back in her native New Jersey and lives with her husband, daughter, and dog, enjoying suburban life.

With the help of her friends, she’s determined to dust off the booty, lift up the ladies, and get on with her life, except she doesn’t have a clue on how to do it! Two years ago, my dad had packed us up in the middle of the night and we’d left town. We weren’t allowed to contact anyone or look back – until now. I’d run away, going back to the only security I’d ever known with my best friend Levi and his family.
Coming home was hard. Although I got to see my best friend again, it also meant seeing the man I’d been in love with since I was six years old – Noah Townsend. Working for him brings us into close contact and makes my no fraternization with the family members of my friends rule difficult.
One trip to Vegas to visit his friend Sven and a lot of alcohol later, I woke up Mrs. Townsend.
The problem was, I didn’t wake up in our hotel room or with him beside me.
Noah
“Don’t touch my best friend” my brother told me. It’s like being told not to push the button – you bide your time until no one’s around and then pounce.
Now that Luna was back, I was pushing the damn button, and I didn’t care what he had to say about it. She’s mine to protect, mine to love, just plain mine.
My trip to Vegas wasn’t for the reasons that I told her it was, and there was little room for things to go wrong. But I woke up the morning after our wedding and she was gone.
Luna is my wife, my world, my boom, and I will find her.
I’m a British author who grew up all over the world. My parents were diplomats, so we were posted to all of the corners of the earth and it was a blast. Some wouldn’t seem so awesome if you heard about them, but my parents always made it a fun experience and it molded my brother and I into who we are today.
I live in Wiltshire in the west country of the UK. At random times of the day, I’ll hear a moo from the fields around me, or get a whiff of that…uhhh…’country air’, and I love it! I might not have grown up in the UK, but I’m a British girl to the bone (regardless of the suspicious whiffs coming in from the fields).
I’m a single mother with a son who is nearing his teenage phase. Maybe he’s reached it early? Who knows. But he’s awesome and has a personality and sense of humor that I can only attribute to my family. We’re slightly bonkers, we have a wicked sense of humor and we find the positives in every situation. I’m so proud to be his mum and to watch him grow and mature.
Writing was something that I’d always done. I had a teacher in the third grade who always set us the task of writing a story and making it into a book every weekend. After I left school, I kept this up and wrote as often as I could or just plotted out books. This evolved into me taking the plunge and publishing my first book in 2016 and I’ve been typing ever since.
I’m proud to be an Indie Author, and I absolutely love writing out my crazy Providence characters and the more complex ones in my other series’. It doesn’t matter if it’s romantic comedy or something with more suspense – so long as it has a HEA I’ll do it!
I’ve got so many more planned, so the best is yet to come.
