Finding Starlight (Quimby Grove Book 1) by Shannon Nikole – Review by Audrie Harrington

Finding Starlight (Quimby Grove #1)Finding Starlight by Shannon Nikole
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book had twists and turns throughout! The main character, Ellawyn, leaves an abusive relationship and escapes to the quaint small town of Quimby Grove. The small town and town square are written so well, the benches surrounding, the marquee on the theater lit up, the window fronts, it all sounds like such a cute town. Ellawyn is brave and trying to start a new life that she has control over. She finds the bookstore and the man who runs it to be a place to feel comfortable and starts to open up. Benji knows she has a dark past or is running from something, but he takes her in and she becomes part of his family. Benji always has a smile to give and runs Starlight Books by himself. Benji’s grandson, Beckett, returns to town to help run the bookstore and cafe and take care of Benji as his health is dwindling. Ellawyn and Beckett slowly get to know each other and the trust builds into more. Then you get hit with a twist, Ellawyn has a stalker. This book was good and I didn’t want to put it down so I could find out what happened. I do have a few unanswered questions about some of the story but it was still a great read.

King Bastard (Dark Sparrow, #6)King Bastard by India Kells
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is a 6 out of 5 stars for me!! I didn’t want this book series to end but WOW what a perfect ending! This band of brothers has been battling their father this entire time but none as fervently as the oldest son. Until the love of his life bursts into his life! While shie is very strong & capable, she has a wonderful capacity to understand & trust him. That is IF he lets her!! I highly, highly suggest reading the previous books before this page-turner. I will definitely follow Kells for her future masterpieces!

I am officially a Kells fan! It was so wonderful to see all the boys join forces! The main heroine this time, however, is so unique! She has strong responsibilities that keep her away from our strong, wounded cop, but all she does is ignite his protective instincts! And the epilogue?! I just can’t wait for the next one!

Cold Bastard is such a whirlwind!! I am a sucker for the classic cold, stern, control-freak male lead whose entire routine-only life gets totally disrupted by the leading lady! Curves & glasses tempt him too far. And he doesn’t even know how much she will corrupt! You HAVE to read this one!

Lost Bastard had me a little nervous to start because I am not a huge organized crime fan. It swept me off my feet! The female lead is so powerful in her own right! And a witty alpha male is always swoon-worthy. Wrap that all up in an action-packed page turner and watch the sparks fly!

Finding Starlight (Quimby Grove Book 1) by Shannon Nikole – Review by Jasmin Marie

Finding Starlight (Quimby Grove #1)Finding Starlight by Shannon Nikole
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

An excellent debut novel! I absolutely loved the characters. Ellawyn is relatable, kind, and all-around someone I can imagine being friends with. Beckett is charming, thoughtful, and just perfect for Ellawyn. The other characters, though minor, add extra elements of emotion to the story. The small town vibe that makes up Quimby Grove is exactly what I needed from this book! The characters kept my heart in this book, but the drama and twists left my brain wanting more and more. There were a few inconsistencies in the story, hence the 4-star rating, but I am looking forward to reading more about this small town and from this author!

Wow just wow I’m not even sure what to say because this book might have left me speechless. But here’s my thoughts, you you’re looking for a story to keep you on your toes and the edge of your seat but also give you all the emotions you could think of go one click this bad boy. From start to finish I had no idea how things would go and I loved every minute of it. The characters are complex and relatable, they simply pull you into a world you’ll find it hard to leave at the end. It’s well written and paced nicely, the characters will stay with well after you reach the end. Five huge stars and highly recommended!

Dark Sparrow Box Set: The Complete 6-Book Series (A Dark Sparrow Novel) by India Kells – Review by Vanessa Watts

Dark Sparrow Box Set: The Complete 6-Book SeriesDark Sparrow Box Set: The Complete 6-Book Series by India Kells
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is one sexy, sinful box set that keeps you coming back for more. Each book in this set is a different storyline to follow, all the sexy alpha’s who have forged their own path in life and the women that have turned them inside out. I absolutely loved how each of these strong burly men found something in a woman that was so completely opposite of what they are. There is really something about opposites attracting and this author does an amazing job integrating that into her plots. I have made it through each of these books and the only thing I can say is that you need to read them for yourselves. It is so easy for me to regale you with things that happen in each of these books but experiencing them yourselves will allow you to travel on this journey as we find out just what it takes to bring these “bastards” to their knees. If you like romance novels with mystery, intrigue, and combativeness this is the series for you. I could not stop reading these books and you may need a cold shower after following their escapades.

I absolutely loved Finding Starlight from the beginning. We start with the scene of Ellawyn escaping her abuser and running from all she’s known in hopes of a safer existence. She lands in Quimby Grove and soon discovers Starlight Books. The owner, Benji, and his grandson, Beckett, become a family to Ellawyn and allow her to become herself again. Unfortunately, Ellawyn soon attracts a stalker and she and Beckett work to keep her safe. This book covers many topics such as abuse, cancer, and death. I was not expecting so many tear jerking moments from this read. I’m excited for book 2 in the series.

Devils breath was such a good read! Cassius is AMAZING and he’s seriously the best. Sera has been dealt the life of crime. Her dad sucks and he’s money hungry. Sera has a tough decision to make..will it be her dad or the person she’s falling for? This book has suspense, crime and some spice! We all love spice lol at least I do. I give this book 5 stars because it kept me interested from the first page. And it was one of those books where you don’t realize how many pages you’ve read because it’s THAT good. You don’t have time to check page numbers. HIGHLY recommend this one.

Finding Starlight (Quimby Grove #1)Finding Starlight by Shannon Nikole
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

First, I want to say, I love the main character’s name, Ellawyn! Shannon Nikole delivers a page-turning story in Finding Starlight. I was drawn in quickly from the very first page and couldn’t put it down. The story has romance, heartache, twists and turns, suspense, and drama all rolled into one. I did feel like some elements of the story were rushed while others were kind of left for the reader to draw their own conclusions. But, overall, Finding Starlight was a great start to a series. The main characters were well thought out, realistic, and relatable. I found myself wanting to transport myself to Quimby Grove to become friends with Ellawyn, Beckett, Benji, and Max! This book definitely contains some triggers such as domestic violence, stalking, assault, and terminal illness. But, I would definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for something to stir up emotions; sadness, love, fear, anger. Finding Starlight has it all.

Vive la Resistance (Donovan Trait Book 3) by Seelie Kay – Review by Angela Hayes

Vive la ResistanceVive la Resistance by Seelie Kay
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 Stars

Vive La Resistance is the third book in the Donovan Trait series by Seelie Kay. It is an engrossing paranormal romantic suspense- with vampires, vampire politics and law, danger, drama, conflict, high stakes, humour, race wars, tension, and plenty of originality.
Ray Donovan and his wife Shirley have been through so much, but the stakes have gotten even higher now with not just their own safety at risk, but also that of their children, as well as the entire half-blood population. War is upon them and there is much riding on the outcome of their battles. So, strap yourself in as things are about to get interesting!
If you have yet to read the first two books in this fantastic series, then I highly recommend that you do before starting on this one. There is a continuation of storyline as well as having important backstory, character details, and other key information to discover in the other two instalments which will certainly enhance your reading experience of this book.
Happy Reading!

Thank you, Seelie Kay!

This was a wonderful debut novel by the author! From the first page it hooked me in and I couldn’t stop reading until the final page. I found it a well written story with well-developed characters, and I absolutely love the name Ellawyn or Ellie for the main character. You could really relate to the characters in the story, they weren’t perfect and I thought the author did a fantastic job of show realistic reactions to the different events in the story. There was a nice balance of mystery, suspense, and romance throughout the storyline. The small town vibe felt spot on and it seems like such a wonderful place to visit. I loved the interactions between Ellie and Benji and how sweet they were together and it was a pleasant surprise at how steamy the relationship between Ellie and Beckett got. I am so excited to read the second novel coming out later this year!

So many things going on in the lives of Donovan Trait and his family! A war with the Vampire Coalition, trying to keep their family alive, and at the same time keeping the humans from finding out. What a great book! The story grips you even if you haven’t read the other books in the series, which I plan to read in the very near future. I really felt that I connected with and understood what they were going through.
I have read other books by this author and enjoyed them a lot. Love how she adds some humor to the stories. Can’t wait to read more of her books!

Finding Starlight (Quimby Grove #1)Finding Starlight by Shannon Nikole
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

It was so easy to fall in love with the characters in this book. Ellawyn had gone through so much, and she really had to stop and figure out how to take care of herself, at the same time she was learning how to let people back in. Beckett was such a gentlemen throughout the whole story, he never once pushed Ellie, but always made sure he was there for her. And of course we cant forget about Benji. He might have been my favorite. He took Ellie in when she first arrived to town, and of course introduced his grandson Beckett to her.

TW: domestic abuse, stalking

I think the recovery one has to go through when they are a victim of abuse is very difficult to understand let alone write about and i think that Shannon did a great job. She was able to showcase Ellie’s fear in a way that was understandable to someone who has never experienced abuse in their life. How to can be hard to move forward, but even when you do you might still have a set back from time to time. Its just one more thing to work through.

Will definitely be reading more from the author and I cant wait for Quimby Grove #2.

I loved the first two books in the series, and this one was certainly no different. I loved the story development as well as the character development between the first two books and this one! As always the author crafted together a wonderful engaging story, with everything I love about their writing!

Donovan and Shirley are facing the dilemma at hand, and at the same time raising their kids and giving them the best life possible. What would that consist of in a perfect world? Perhaps living free, and not fearing of a law broken for well, living your life! A decision for war was made, and Donovan and his wife knew what was on the line, meaning they may not make it. I found this character development very commendable. Despite what they could lose, they cared more on what they could gain! This book brought on a lot of feelings, a lot of action, hardship, and of course suspense. I was not sure what would turn out as I turned the pages. The author is very gifted at all that they do! I was engaged and wanting to know more, the author doesn’t give away what could happen, they keep you in suspense and to keep reading. I seriously love this series and the writing of this very amazing and gifted author!

I loved the first two books and I highly recommend reading those two then reading this one for a good story development . I loved this one truly as I do this author. I highly recommend this series, this book, and this author! All are must reads. For sure, not ones to be passed up! Truly a remarkable read!

Vive la ResistanceVive la Resistance by Seelie Kay
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the third book of the Donovan Trait series and it is just as good as the first two. Still in hiding Donovan and Shirley are raising their twins while trying to protect them and themselves for the coalition that wants to take away their children. Born behind the coalition’s back, the council did not take too lightly to it. The birth of the twins showed the other vampires that someone has been lying for years now they are covering their tracks.

Donovan and his family have declared war on the coalition. If they are going down, everyone is going down with them. The coalition retorted with genocide of any vampire who is not of pure blood. Everything seems to be working against the Trait family.

This book was by far the most action filled of the three. I was rooting for the Trait family from the very beginning. I love Donovan and Shirleys relationship. They are a power couple so in love. The twins are loved by all and have complete opposite personalities. They are an adorable family.

This is book 3 in the Donovan Trait series. I have been gripped by these stories from the first book and this one is no exception. I would highly recommend reading them from the beginning so you have a full picture of the characters and the story. If you love a paranormal story with vampires, Were shifters and humans and a fight between them all then this is definately a series for you.

We are back with the Trait family forced to go into hiding by the Vampire Coalition Donovan and his wife Shirley are going to war in a fight that could mean losing their lives.

The Trait family are forced to fight after the Coalition put warrants out for the capture of Donovan, Shirley and his kids. The Coalition is on a rampage trying to destroy everyone who isn’t pure vampire or half- breeds as they are called. The Coalition have ruled the vampire race through fear and lies and because Donovan and his family threated to reveal those lies the Coalition want them gone.
So now Donovan and his wife are set out on a mission to recruit as many half- breeds and pure bloods to their side as possible if they are to stand a chance of winning this war. People should be free no matter who or what they are and that is what Donovan and his family are fighting for.
Can they win this war and protect their innocent children and at the same time save everyone who doesn’t follow the Coalitions rules or will the Coalition be too strong and people to afraid to stand against them which will result in Donovan and Shirley losing their lives.

I loved reading this book. This is the third book in this series which I highly suggest you read the previous two books as they are just as great as this one. This is an author that I never hesitate to pick up. One of the things I love about this author is her writing skills. They are such that she makes her story pop and come to life. This book is no different. I enjoyed being pulled into the story from the start. The characters are not only connectable but also made me feel as if I was part of their story. This is a well written story where the characters battle for their lives as well as their family lives. This is a story that is full of action and is fast paced. A story of vampires and a hard to put down story. I enjoyed watching the growth of the plot as well as the characters. This is a must read story that you don’t want to miss. This is book three of the series. This has been a most exciting series. Donovan and Shirley have fought a very good fight for half-bloods and their right to life. In this installment, the war has been declared. They are still on the island and are battling by cyberwar and technological attacks. It’s kind of scary how much the plot could apply to real life. Well-written, the battle is for everyone, all half-bloods. They have been lied to for so long. The line is the sand has been drawn. I enjoyed the fact that even during all of this, they are still dealing with parenting struggles. The character interactions are all melding together so well. It’s a great finish to a terrific series. I enjoyed the series. I think other paranormal romance readers will also.

What a lovely feel good read.
We follow Ellawyn as she leaves a very toxic and abusive relationship, not only leaving her ex behind but also her family. Quimby Grove is the little town that she stops at and Starlight is the name of the shop where she hides herself daily. Hiding, healing and finding another family in Benji, owner of Starlight.
Beckett returns home to look after his grandfather. The relationship between him and Ellawyn is not always smooth but you find yourself following the path that the author lays for you. The characters are well written and grow with the story. I enjoyed following the tale of sadness, self-belief, heartache and making peace with the past and thankfully a happy ever after.
I hope there is more from Quimby Grove.

Right from the very start of this fabulous book you are drawn straight into the lives of these wonderful characters this amazing author has created. I fell for Ellawyn, Beckett and sweet Benji right from their first appearances in the book. I knew their stories were not going to be easy ones but the entire time I lived in hope that the good would outweigh the bad in the end. For me it was one of those books where you are torn between wanting to read it as fast as you can because you just have to know what is going to happen and wanting to take your time with it because you don’t want it to end. I can’t wait to return to Quimby Grove to see what is next for this gorgeous little community and it friendly residents.

This is the first book that I have read from the author, and I really enjoyed the read. Anyone who is really loves romance novels this is the book for you. You will not be disappointed with this read. It was a emotional and suspenseful read that kept my attention from start to finish.
A woman looking to escape her past. A man returning to his roots.
And someone just beneath the surface, watching their every move…
Quimby Grove, Pennsylvania is the perfect place for a fresh start. After leaving her old life behind, Ellawyn Calloway spends all her time at Starlight Books, a quaint bookstore café, and develops a friendship with the elderly shop owner, Benji. Everything changes when Benji requests that his grandson, Beckett Walden, return to Quimby Grove for a visit.

Dark, Spicy, Edge-of-Your-Seat Suspense…this book has it all. I was hooked from the blurb of the book and Lang Johnson just kept pulling me in. This is definitely not a book for the faint-of-heart. There are lies, betrayals, *spicy* times, love, hurt, anger, and so much more. I loved how Johnson developed Sera’s character and made her this total badass who knows want she wants and goes and gets it. She is smart, feisty, sexy, and knows how to use each of those to her advantage. Cassius is my favorite type of character…broken and flawed, but not ready to give up on the world yet. He’s kind and loving and is a genuinely good guy. I love the banter between Sera and Cassius as they are figuring each other out and what they mean to one another. Johnson’s plot development is also *chef’s kiss* amazing. It was a very fast-paced novel, but it never felt rushed. The drama and action sequences were done extremely well, as were the spicy portions of the book. Lang Johnson is definitely an author I will be putting on my To-Read list. I highly recommend this book!

I really liked the 3rd installment of this series. The thing that was kind of disappointing was I felt the issue with the Matron from the first book was left unresolved, I kept waiting for something to happen. I did enjoy the final confrontation with the coalition. The old Vampires on the council were sick, and the way they treated half bloods, and the vampire women was just terrible. The ending was awesome, I liked the battle and the look into the future right after the battle, and how all their lives turned out. I do look forward to more books from this author.
