Having read No Way Out, I instantly started looking forward to this second book in the series I picked this one up as soon as I could and got transferred back into the Mafia Elite world. I ended up reading it in one night. I enjoyed this second book! I enjoyed reading the flashback near the beginning of the story which described their relationship from when they were kids and how it had morphed to what it was in “current day.” Enzo is next in line to be one of the mafia boss heads but is also a protector for Sophia, a friend and woman he has desired for years. Sophia is an up-and-coming fashion designer who is getting her big break with a fashion showing in Milan, that is if she can ever get there with the threat to her life and her family’s overprotective ways. I look forward to reading the rest of the series.

Wow, there are not enough great things to say about this book! From the first chapter to the very end of this book I was HOOKED and could not stop reading!! Lexi is a headstrong independent female character which made this book that much better! When she had to work with Xavier she was not thrilled but made their story THAT MUCH BETTER. The ending was just the icing on the cake! I will be reading all of her stories now because the writing style is just superb.

Rebecca Steele Living The Dream (The Rebecca Steele series Book 3)Rebecca Steele Living The Dream by Joanne Patterson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Where to start? This book is excellent. It is book 3 in the series. The conclusion of Becky and Chance’s story. Toss in an ex-wife that just can’t get a clue, ex’s that come back around, and some extra powerful drama. Becky and Chance are dealing with all of this around her doing a concert series once a month and the rodeo. They face some strong struggles but their love seems to be very strong. Can they get through this. Will their love survive? This story caught me from page 1. You are going to feel the emotions roll through the whole story. It’s going to be an emotional roller coaster. I can’t give anything away. You have to read this story. You will not be disappointed. This is on my list of favorites for 2021. Well-written with fantastic characters that are so easy to relate to. I wish I could give it a 10, but they will only allow me to give it a 5. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I had not read the other books in this series, but the cover really attracted me in this one. Being a country girl myself, I was truly ready to get my saddle on and give this book a whirl. In small words, I loved this book and the characters. I laughed and chimed in with a good beat all the way through. I will be going back to the previous novels for sure and seeing what else the author has written for me to enjoy reading!

I must say Rebecca was a treat to read on. I truly loved how she was written, and truly how real she was to myself as a reader. She faces and goes through a lot of struggles. Only after things seemed to finally from what I gathered from past events, seem to be going in the right direction. I loved how things seemed bad, she kept that hope and the will to keep on going alive within her soul and her heart!

I think a lot of us can relate to Rebecca in different ways. She was a strong willed character, and was one not to be messed with. She was knocked off her horse a few times, but she never gave up and kept on going. O lived that quality of her, and her determination was real and a very admirable trait! I also loved the other characters, which were a joy to read on as well. This book was not predictable as well. i was surprised with twists and a little bends here and there. It made the book more than I expected. I loved the book and how easily it flowed as I read, I could not get enough. I am so happy I got to read this wonderful book and discover a beautiful series by a very talented author!

As said, this book was a fun ride! I loved how easily the book flowed and everything came together, and really how relatable the characters made the book easy to meet on level with! I will be reading the first two for sure! Needless to say, this is a must read book and a must read author! highly recommend both!

Becky meets the obstacles in her path with strength. How much can one woman be expected to take in a lifetime? Poor Becky thinks she finally has her life figured out and on the blissful path that she’s been longing for when suddenly obstacles are thrown in her path. She faces tragedy and so many struggles that I never saw coming in the finale to this series. She is such a strong amazing woman that she finds a way to persevere and make it through to the other side. My mouth literally fell open in shock at several twists in this story and I was so very happy to see how the series wrapped up. The ending definitely made me tear up.

This is such a sweet story of starting over. This is a really great romance centered around country life. Becky has had such a hard time with men and it’s made her really cautious about opening herself up to another man and really giving it her all. Chance is so different from the other men she’s met. He sees something special in Becky the first time he lays eyes on her and he’s willing to wait as long as it takes and to take things as slowly as she needs to be comfortable. When she finally does let her guard down and lets Chance in they are so adorable together and Cassidy is just the incing on the cake. There are twists and turns in this story that kept me turning the pages until I reached the absolutely beautiful ending. This is a sweet wholesome romance not to be missed.

This series is so wonderful to read. I love Becky’s strength and her belief in others. I can relate to the characters and the faith they have in each other. This installment in the series is my favorite. Starting in the opening pages, you feel the love Becky and her family shares. Although I did not read the fist book in the series, I remembered many of the characters from the second book and liked meeting the new characters. Overall, I really enjoyed this book.

A Dark Mafia that will have you wanting to join the fight. A Mob Boss and Mafia Princess that have always been in love but never found the perfect moments to declare their feelings. Stefano and Emiliana have to tackle twists and backstabbing just to find the happiness they deserve.

This might be the third book in this series, but you can read it without feeling lost and disconnected from the other stories. Great characters and a page-turning dark romance.

With this being the final book in the series, the best was surely saved for last. I loved every single gripping aspect of this story. From the characters, the story, the incredible atmosphere it created in my mind. Simply everything was magnificent about it. Highly emotional, yet sweetly endearing. It was not a long story, but it was a good one, and left a lasting impression. I would have loved more in this series, but what I have read won’t be forgotten, and will be re-read again soon. 5 stars.

This is the third book in this series which is just as enjoyable as the previous book I have read in this series. Becky is back and has no idea what fate has in store for her. It is a well written story that is full of love, faith and a woman with attitude. I enjoyed seeing the previous characters as well as a couple of new ones. They are connectable and bring the story to life on each page. I enjoyed watching their growth throughout the story. They are supportive and keep the story engaging. I enjoyed how fast paced and hard to put down this book is. This is the final book in this series and what an ending it was. You don’t want to miss this one or this series which I highly suggest going back to read the previous books to help your enjoyment of the characters and the author’s writing style. I highly suggest this book.

This book took me under and kept me hook. Lexi is such a great main character that brings a lot to the table. It can a bit dark with the past, but man does it keep you wanting more. Xavier is also a piece of work with a lot of package, but once again, worth the read. Great job to the author indeed!

King Bastard (Dark Sparrow, #6)King Bastard by India Kells
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I foolishly started with book 6 of this series and while I loved the story and was able to follow it well, getting to know all the characters a little, I truly believe had I started from the very beginning my enjoyment would have been enhanced. I HIGHLY recommend starting from book 1 and reading the entire series… this exciting action packed world will captivate you from the very first word.
This story brings the events effecting all these wonderful characters to an exciting conclusion but especially the story of the very very Alpha Lazarus and the woman to capture his heart through all the turmoil, the Beautiful Dr Sasha. Lazarus seems to take on the weight of the world in this powerful story but Sasha is strong enough to see through all his walls to see the true Oz and together they will fight the battles before them.
If you are looking for something new to read this series is a MUST read from this fabulous author.

I will admit I was dreading starting this book, not because of the story; but because I wasn’t ready for the end of this series. I quickly became invested in the lives of the brothers and was looking forward to seeing how they overcame the obstacles that were thrown their way by their father. Lazarus and Sasha’s story didn’t disappoint. I was hooked the moment that I started. The chemistry between them was tangible and I loved every minute of this book. I hate seeing it end, but man this story was the perfect way to go out.

Great detective romance story. The story line was great it pulled me in especially with the massive plot twist. Detectives Lexi and Xavier are on the hunt for a child killer but Xavier has a hidden agenda and it could jeopardise the whole case if he concentrates on what he has been hired to do. Lexi and Xavier are spending so much time together on this case that feelings start to grow between the pair can they remain professional and ignore these feelings

An engaging, well-written romantic suspense/crime novel! I thoroughly enjoyed this book and read it in a couple of sittings. It was hard to put down; the story was fast-paced with fully developed characters drawing the reader in deeper. The world building was also excellent, making the reader feel like they are in the middle of the story, with vivid details. The author tackles many difficult themes in the story, including suicide and loss of child to murder, which makes the book feel a bit darker and could make it challenging to read, but I found her writing flawless and her ability to capture emotion of characters excellent, doing proper justice to difficult subject matter. Overall, this was an excellently written book and I look forward to more from this author.

If romantic suspense is your thing, you’ll definitely want to give this book a chance. I was on the edge of my seat and couldn’t wait to finish this one.

Lexi’s career is on the line and a lot of things factor in to that but she is determined to bring justice to Arthur. Xavier is brought on to determine if Lexi is capable of doing her job and doing it well but Lexi is not privy to that information. Xavier doing his job could very well compromise the case Lexi is working on to serve justice to a child murderer. I don’t want to say too much so as not to give anything away as the suspense is part of the experience. This was such a good read. I definitely recommend!

I love detective stories. I enjoy trying to figure things out with them. Top that with the pain and past Lexi tried to bury deep within herself and the trouble it was causing her with work, I was hooked. I needed the bad guy to get caught just as much as she did. As a parent it was rough hearing about the cases. But it made me connect more to the story. Despite the real reason Xavier was transferred to Lexi’s department I kinda hoped a romance would bud. This story definitely keeps you interested. I also like some of the references that let you know it takes place in current time.

This book was a suspenseful 4 star read. This was my first read from this author and I was pleasantly surprised. Her writing pulls you right into Xavier and Lexi’s story.

Lexi is on a mission to capture a child killer. Xavier joins Lexi as her partner in the investigation.
When these two meet there is an instant attraction, can Xavier keep things professional? How would Lexi feel if she really knew who he was and the real reason he has been assigned to work with her. What will happen when she finds out his secret?

Will they be able to find the killer before it’s too late?

Overall I really enjoyed this book. We get suspense, emotion, drama and so much more. My emotions were all over the place. I really liked both of these characters. I can’t imagine being a detective and having to deal with the things that these two did. They had a great connection as well. If you’re looking for a great thrilling read, 1-click and get started today. I look forward to reading more from this author.

Fall to PiecesFall to Pieces by Becky Flade
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

First off this story is a wild ride full of emotional and physical suspense. The cat and mouse analogy seems to tame to even describe what the author has pulled off with her writing. Our main character Lexi is deemed a loose cannon at work, someone the bosses are trying to force out before she damages the reputation of the force or costs them a lot of money. Meanwhile Lexi is just dealing with past traumas that she can’t seem to outrun from the loss of a kid to her husband who committed suicide in the home they shared. Enter Xavier Knight who is brought in to test Lexi’s demeanor and see whether she is truly fit for duty or the loose cannon that everyone thinks she is.

Xavier is assigned as Lexi’s new partner in his undercover work with internal affairs as he evaluates Lexi. However, their first case throws them and their relationship into a tailspin when it is the body of a young boy. Once again Lexi has to confront the same man that her husband lost his battle to Book. Tempers flare while the investigation is happening and to avoid further lawsuit after a confrontation at the station with Book, Lexi and Xavier are pulled from the investigation. Xavier finally starts to realize that the department is forcefully trying to remove Lexi even though she is a good detective. He also finds that she may be right about Book’s involvement in the boys murder and agrees to investigate him with Lexi in secret. Both Lexi and Xavier are trying to hold their secrets close to their vests but what happens when they come to light? Will the ticking time bomb they are tiptoeing around implode taking them down with it? Or can the bring a murderer who has bested them to justice? This is one of the best books I have read this year and will look for other titles this author has written. Her characters are dynamic, the storylines explosive and the twists and turns keep you coming back for me trying to put all the pieces together before the characters themselves do.

This book has so many interesting elements—a great storyline, fantastic characters, and enough romance and suspense to fill a few volumes. I’ve never been what one could call a “fan” of police dramas and mysteries, but this book has certainly given me pause in that viewpoint. I couldn’t stop reading, too intrigued and drawn in. The characters might as well be real people with how well they were written. Even the background characters were amazing and integral to the story. If you enjoy books with suspense, crime, and an ensemble of characters you’ll love, this is for you.
