What a beautiful roller coaster! This journey (because that is definitely what this story is) will leave you emotionally wrung out and still wanting more. It is beautifully written with relatable complex characters. Comprised of tragedy, sorrow, war, second chances, T. Birmingham has created a universe that I will gladly wrap myself in again and again.

Birmingham – Review by Heather Lovelace
She hasn’t been living. He’s looking for a way to forget it all.
My life went up in flames. All I’m left with is my daughter and ashes. The simple act of breathing is so excruciating, there are days I wish I could stop altogether. So I have no business being at the party, and I definitely shouldn’t be in the arms of the handsome stranger. When his lips meet mine, he breathes life into me for the first time since the day the inferno disintegrated my world. But loving again isn’t in the cards, and there are even greater dangers to face than trying to keep Landon McCabe out of my heart.
Running is my only option. I have to get away from Chicago and the betrayal that shattered my world. I need a new life-one without attachments. The vibrancy of New Orleans convinces me it’s possible to start over. Yet in all the excitement of a new city, it’s Storm Hawke’s dark, sad beauty that draws me in. She isn’t looking for love, and we both need a hot, sweaty release without feelings getting involved. But even the best laid plans fail, and life can leave you burned.
Love can build, and love can destroy. But in the end, love is what raises you from the ashes.
Gwyn McNamee is an attorney, writer, wife, and mother (to one human baby and two fur babies). Originally from the Midwest, Gwyn relocated to her husband’s home town of Las Vegas in 2015 and is enjoying her respite from the cold and snow. Gwyn has been writing down her crazy stories and ideas for years and finally decided to share them with the world. She loves to write stories with a bit of suspense and action mingled with romance and heat. When she isn’t either writing or voraciously devouring any books she can get her hands on, Gwyn is busy adding to her tattoo collection, golfing, and stirring up trouble with her perfect mix of sweetness and sarcasm (usually while wearing heels).

I was nineteen when I became Jayden’s knight in shining armour, her Paladin. At only fourteen, she developed a teenage crush on me, the man who rescued her. I gave her time to grow, waiting for her feelings to mature. As years, when I was forbidden to touch her, passed, I never doubted she was mine. I just wasn’t allowed to show it. Circumstances send us to Colorado, away from the restrictions and over-protective brothers. At last we have a chance to be together. What could be better? What could be worse? A new club. A new life. Out of my depth, I don’t fit in. A different president and his old lady who’ve been married thirty-six years. That their marriage is on shaky ground spills over into how they treat us. For some reason, Hellfire and Moira want to force Jayden and I apart. Jay and I are just beginning. Or, is it the end? After all this time, will we make it work? Or have the years I’ve spent waiting been wasted?
After commuting for too many years to London working in various senior management roles, Manda left the rat race and now fulfills her dream and writes fulltime. She draws on her background in psychology, the experience of working indifferent disciplines and personal life experiences in her books. Manda lives in the beautiful countryside of North Essex with her husband and two slightly nutty Irish Setters. Walking her dogs gives her the thinking time to come up with plots for her novels, and she often dictates ideas onto her phone on the move, while looking over her shoulder hoping no one is around to listen to her. Manda’s other main hobby is reading, and she devours as many books as she can. Her biggest fan is her gay son (every mother should have one!). Her favourite pastime when he is home are the late night chatting sessions they enjoy, where no topic is taboo, and usually accompanied by a bottle of wine or two.

Kent has watched the women he loves the most in his life suffer unbearably, unable to save them himself, and now he refuses to get close to anybody. To most people, he’s a heartless, angry cop without a soft interior. Until one stormy day, fate teases him with a warm ray of Alexa’s sunshine, melting a piece of his icy heart. Caught in Make-Believe (The Caught Series Book 3) by Sharleen Scott was a fast moving, suspense, romance that had me hooked from start to finish.
My first read by this author and this series, I was pulled in right away by the, in your face opening, that not only set the stage it showed us were this story was going to go. I love those cold opens, sometimes being tossed into a story in progress is the best way to get submerged, if done right, and Sharleen Scott more than did it right.
As this being the third book, and me being me, not starting were I should, I didn’t feel like I was missing anything, as this does read as a standalone. As I got to know more about the side characters, I learned that they have stories of their own, and if they’re anything like this one, I’m going to be in for a treat.
Jumping in we meet Sam in a very, unplents situation, we get a good look at her as a person, and I liked her right off the bat. Girl got no time for BS. Now for Jace, even though he came across as a t-bag, there is a sadness to his character, and right away you can’t help but be drawn to him. As we get more into his backstory and his dark past, you get a better sense of why he is the way that he is. As these two get closer and connect, and fall, it just makes you all melty. It progressed at a steady pace, nothing felt forced and you can’t help but root for them.
The overall plot, and subplot is intriguing and gives this story a little something special. The added suspense mystery adds a danger element to the sweetness, making the story feel balanced and entertaining. That aside the writing was easy to follow, the POV switches were clean and clear as who was talking. I never felt confused or lost. This book is damn near perfect, and I can’t wait to dive into the other two books.
Overall this book is worth your time and energy. So please take my super high recommendation and my stamp of approval, that you will get sucked into this world and be unable to put it down.

I am a stay-at-home mom who needed a freaking break from never-ending conversations with five-year-olds about poop and farts. So I decided to write books. And drink whiskey. Sometimes simultaneously.I live on a farm-ish in southwestern Ohio with three kids, one husband, fifteen chickens, nine ducks, a guinea pig, a gecko and whatever else my husband and children think sounds like fun. I love to cook and to pretend like my house is clean. *disclaimer–it never is*I love to hear from readers so you should hit me up. Come hang out in my Facebook readers group and see what sort of random schenanigans I’m currently up to.

The Boss Man is Book 4 in The Manly Series from author Teddy Hester – even though these books are part of a series, these books can be read as stand-alone and still be enjoyed just as much.
This book was captivating and I was totally compelled while reading it. This plot was well written and this author had created some brilliant characters. This was a short read, and at times I think it could have been better if it was a full length novel just so that we had more depth to certain parts in the read, but that didn’t stop me from enjoying it.
Each characters that was created for this story was relatable and I loved reading Jack & Jillian’s journey through this read. They have incredible banter throughout and an undeniable connection from the get-go – I definitely would love to have more from them though. I liked the little twist of the suspense in the novel, it added another level to this read and it was something I did enjoy. I loved how it was written and how you got the countdown to Jack’s deadline.
This was a great introduction to this author for me, and I will look forward to see what else this author brings to this series.

This is the first book I have read from this author and she blew me away. I love a good dark romance and this author exceeded all my expectations. This is the first book of the Monsters in the Dark series. You can’t help but to fall in love with these characters. I was hooked on the very first page and I could not stop until the end. It only took me a few hours to devour this unique story.
Tess Snow is a very lucky young woman. She has only one more semester until she graduates and a man that loves her to death. Tess is surprised when Brax her boyfriend tells her they are going on a mystery getaway for their two year anniversary. She is in love with Mexico the food, drinks, and beaches are like heaven. Tess is having the time of her life with the man she loves. Then their lives are turned upside down. Tess is kidnapped and brought into a very dark world. She is all alone with no one to help her but she finds the will to fight. Tess’s nightmare has come true when she is sold to a new master. She is now a possession not a human and she has to obey him. Tess hates this man they call Q but deep down she feels something that she has never thought she would ever feel, compassion. Will Tess be rescued or will she be his slave forever? Will she run back to Brax or will her new master change her forever?
I absolutely love this story. The storyline has it all dark romance, suspense, mystery, and healing. You will fall in love with these characters right from the beginning. Tess is beautiful woman that is really smart. She is a very strong woman from what she had to endure. Q is the master. He is very dark and also broken. Q is trying to heal from his past but it keeps on haunting him. This is a dark romance that have some scenes that might be a little too hard to read for some readers. This author will keep you at the edge of your seat until the very end. I can’t wait to see what will happen next to these unforgettable characters.

Scotland Yard Exchange Romantic Suspense: The Complete 5 Book Series
By Stephanie Queen
5 Stars
I’ve read many of this authors other books, The Beachcomber Investigations series is actually one of my favorites. Reading this series of books takes me back to before Beachcombers and then it ended with the beginning of that series. I love this author and I love her stories, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…Everything this author does would make a killer television series…One that I would love to watch. Reading all of these had me laughing out loud at many parts and then biting my nails wondering what was going to happen the next. She places twists and turns where you don’t expect them and you never completely have anything figured out till you are done reading.
The books flowed together creating one huge story, but what is so cool about the way she writes them is each one could actually be read as a standalone, although I wouldn’t recommend that because each is so so good and you’d be missing out on some history of these characters.
So to sum it all up…Read these, then move on to the Beachcombers series and then move on to absolutely anything this author writes..She is an absolute favorite of mine and I can’t wait for a quiet weekend with no plans so I can sit down and read every one of these again in order, back to back.

WOW what a great book My Salvation by Michelle Dare was to read! It is the first in the Salvation Series and left me yearning for the next one!
Caliana (Cali) Crawford, has finally had enough of her crappy job, where she is unappreciated. She’s at a point in life where she just wants to do something meaningful and make a difference. She decides it’s time to clear her head and knows the best place to do that is at the cabin her aunt left her. She never expects to run into childhood friend Owen Matthews.
Owen is a man who has done something with his life, but unfortunately he is still missing something. He remembered back to when they were teenagers and shared a kiss, but she left. He never thought he would amount to anything back then but “He worked his butt off and a part of him knew he did it for Cali. He worked hard, saved and invested the money he made. He bought the company he worked for, and the cabin for his mom. He felt like a boy, wanting the girl that was unattainable. The awkward boy who kissed the beautiful girl way out of his league.”
Here they are many years later and his feelings are still strong. He takes a risk and kisses her and is overjoyed when she reciprocates. He feels that maybe new life is breathed into what could have been. “He knew then and there that he would do whatever it took to keep her in his arms. She was his, even if she didn’t know it yet.”
As they begin to see where this could take them, they are both dealing with their own set of demons and obstacles. Cali has been betrayed by someone she loved and has lost her aunt. Owen was betrayed by his brother Ethan who has returned to town. With money and power comes crazy people out of the wood work and for Owen he’s no different. Dealing with his ex Mia and a woman at his office Avery is a little touch and go.
When Owen and Cali find themselves in danger will they solve the mystery together or go their separate ways? Can a teenage crush ever become more than just that? Can your past come back as something filled with love, hope, and a future or will the past simply destroy your present?
Michelle Dare is a vivid writer who wrote with specific details, set up the scenes beautifully, and built strong characters. I enjoyed that she gave some type of a background story to every character even though this was Owen & Cali’s journey. The writing was concise, fluid, exciting, and at times heart-wrenching. This was a wonderful book that I loved. I can’t wait to see if the next one will be Ethan or Erik’s story because it’s a hard choice!
Focus by Annie Jocoby is the second book in the Exposure Series and begins with CJ Parker missing. CJ is gone and Asher Sloane has no idea where she is or why she was taken but his concern is that maybe it has to do with him and his past life. If CJ was taken as a way to get to Asher, he would never be able to live with himself and it would be that much more difficult to get her back. When someone from his past suddenly shows up with information about her whereabouts he is willing to pay any price even if it requires telling a lie and living with the consequences.
CJ suddenly wakes up drugged, blind folded, and scared for her life. She has no idea why she has been kidnapped, where she is, or who has her. As the reality of her situation becomes clearer she immediately panics. She has been kidnapped, bought and sold, and now her buyer is looking to sell her again. She is not the only one in the room, there is another woman Marisa who is also being held captive. By the time Asher puts his information to use and finds CJ, she has already been sold again and the seller won’t give Asher any information about the buyer. He is however willing to sell Asher the other woman, Marisa and Asher soon realizes it may provide him with more information in how to get to CJ.
While Asher is working out a plan to save CJ, she meets her new buyer who hopes to turn her into a sex slave. She is left drugged, beaten, and then by the grace of God has a tragic event happen that makes it a little easier for Asher to find her, only problem is her injuries are extensive in ways the reader would never predict. As she has to fight to overcome her new lifestyle I feel it makes her stronger in some aspects and a little freer. I feel that some of her reservations are not the same and it gives her a new strength to do something she couldn’t do in book 1. The trials that ensue her and Asher continue to have the tug of war of being together and being apart, but there can be great strength in that. I can’t wait to see the ramifications of the choices they have each made in book 3 and if they will ever get their deserved happy ever after.
Annie Jocoby kept me engaged from the beginning. This book had more love, more suspense and more adventure. It had more history of the characters and introduced us to new characters that we may just fall in love with.
