Paladin’s Hell by Manda Mellett a five-star read that will rock you. This is number one in the Colorado Chapter of the cross over Satan’s Devils MC series, you don’t need to have read the cross over before as you can start this, I adore this writer and have loved the characters in her other stories. The multiple POV in this story can get a little confusing at times, but it does get so easy to read. The devotion in this story is just so strong, Paladin and Jaydin will just make you swoon, but they aren’t the only story, and that just gives this so much more.

Laurie Lewis has become an author on my must list. Her books are suspenseful-the kind that keeps you hooked from the first page to the last page. Secrets Never Die is that book. There is little suspense and a little romance all wrapped into one. There are two mysteries taken place one about a female,Tallie whose mother moved around and the other is about a reporter, Jackson who has had problems in his career. Each investigates their lives which leads them down a path that they may not be ready to see or hear about. The story is gripping and is a roller coaster ride. Every decision can lead to a good situation or a bad situation. Will Tallie and Jackson find the answers they are after or will it put them deeper into the rabbit hole?

A Dark Sparrow Boxset by India Kells is a series about six brothers and the ties of family. Each of these books is about a different brother however I personally would recommend you reading them in order as the characters development from the author is brilliant. It would give you a more complete experience. Each book – each brother – is fantastic to read about. Their stories are so different and yet all have that similar feeling to them. And they each find the one person who is their perfect match. The stories are all exciting and fast paced. You are drawn into them so easily and simply cannot put them down. You should do yourself a favour and buy this boxset today.

Paladin’s Hell is the much awaited first book of the Colorado Chapter Satan’s Devils MC from Manda Mellett. I adored the original Satan’s Devils MC stories so when I heard there would be a spinoff series with an emphasis on a Colorado Chapter I was hooked before I even read a single word of it. Colorado is one of my favorite places in the world so add that I would have an awesome new characters to watch enjoying Colorado is a win win in my book.
In Paladin’s Hell we get the full story of Jayden and Paladin. Jayden was rescued by the Satan’s Devils two years ago. This was the first time the two met and it seemed to be an instant attraction for the two. These two have to make a move to a new compound and things will get interesting. Will these two be able to withstand all the obstacles that seem to plague them? Is there any hope for a happily ever after? I can’t wait to see what will come next in the series. I know for sure I will love it so I am just ready for the newest adventure with the Satan’s Devils.

The Dark Sparrow series from India Kells has to be my favorite series of hers to date. When I saw that the first three books were available as a box set, I knew I had to scoop it up. Not only do I have to still devour the first book in the series, I know several gals that would love this series just as much as I have so it makes the perfect gifting option. I have truly felt all the emotions known while reading these novels and the series will keep you entertained for hours with lots of suspense and steamy content. I am so excited to get to read the first book and then re-read the following ones. I will be looking forward to seeing what else will come from the ever talented India Kells. Below is my reviews for books two and three.

This was my first experience reading any of India Kells novels. I had not read the first one in the Dark Sparrow series, but didn’t feel like it affected my ability to fully enjoy this one. Though, since I did, I am compelled to go back and read that, and maybe some more of this author. I really enjoyed how India Kells managed to weave a detailed and complicated storyline with ease and friendly to the reader. It was fast paced and had me on the edge of my seat until I suddenly found myself with no more to read in a few short hours. I found it a perfect poolside read full of mystery, adventure, suspense, romance, and so much more. Our two main characters in this novel are Zoe and Archer. Each have secrets in their past that will come back to haunt them. Will these be detrimental to not only their survival, but also their ability to find a happily ever after that you so want them to find?
I really connected to Zoe. She is a curvy, smart, and sassy redhead, much like myself. To me this really pulled me into the story and had me feeling like I was on the same page with her throughout the entire novel. Zoe is a Dark Sparrow (A soul offered a new life in exchange for a favor to be repaid later.) that has been assigned to infiltrate the Blackwood Corporation. This is where Archer comes in. I found him to be a nice compliment to Zoe. Archer has a very different persona. In his past it was his secrets that has turned him into the cold bastard that he is today. Zoe never figured that she would fall for someone like Archer but finds herself feeling a very strong attraction towards him. Will she choose to follow her heart or fulfill her job above all?
I really look forward to reading the next book in the series. I hope that it will keep me on the edge of my seat much like this one.

Wild Bastard (Dark Sparrow #3)
India Kells really just keeps on outdoing her own self. I have been an avid reader of Kells for a long time now so any time a new book of hers is available I tend to scoop them up without so much as a blink. I’m especially partial to this Dark Sparrow series of hers. Wild Bastard is the third book in the series, but could if you really want to miss out on some fantastic novels read this as a stand alone. They do have recurring characters but India Kells always keeps it easy to follow.
Wild Bastard is Kai and Izzy’s story. I adored these two and really enjoyed reading their journey. The two met and fell madly in love with each other years before but Izzy one day disappeared without so much as a goodbye. Here we are now and we find Izzy and Kai crossing each other’s path again. Will they be able to capture that same love they had before and hang on to it this time? I can’t wait to find out what will come next for the Dark Sparrow series!

I don’t know why I don’t read more MC stories! Every time I do I fall more head over heels for them. I don’t know where Mellett has been hiding! I love this author and her club! This story can be read as a stand-alone but little did I know that the Arizona Chapter is where it all starts. You can tell that some of the characters in this book have their own stories. I can’t wait to go read all 9 of those books! And what is next for Demon and the Colorado Chapter!
Paladin’s Hell is about Paladin and Jayden as well as Hellfire and Moira. I loved how this story had two different couples at two different times in their lives. There are not many books with over 40 main characters so having them in this story is so extra! The twists in this story are beyond great. And I even caught myself laughing out loud at Pal and Jay.

This was an AMAZING box set!! I absolutely loved everything about it! The authors writing was phenomenal and each story was a 5 star read for me! The box set included Lost Bastard, Cold Bastard and Wild Bastard – these are the first three books in the Dark Sparrow series and are well worth a read! The series features 6 brothers and if the first three are anything to go by I cannot wait to meet the next three! It’s difficult to choose a favourite book from this box set as each brother has their own story to tell but if I really had to choose one then I think probably Cold Bastard – there was just something about this story which really pulled me in – it was a little more complex than the other two so I think I was really invested in what was happening and had to work a little harder to fully get to know the characters! This really is an amazing box set that I 100% recommend! I am really looking forward to more to come from this series!

Kells is a mastermind of the romantic suspense genre. This box set is absolutely a must read and must buy. Each book stands solidly on its own but once you read one you will absolutely want to read the rest. I loved each book and love that they are available together now. A Dark Sparrow Box Set by India Kells consists of the three books in this series: Lost Bastard, Cold Bastard, and Wild Bastard. This is a really good series that I enjoyed. Cold Bastard by India Kells is the second book in the Dark Sparrow series. I was really looking forward to reading this after reading the first book and I was not disappointed. The story is about Zoe Somersby and Archer Blackwood. Zoe had been brought in to work for Archer as an undercover agent. The characters are well written and allowed the story to flow. There was lots of suspense and mystery as well as a little romance. I really like this is a well thought out story and the characters are interesting people. Everyone is not always what one would assume. I look forward to reading the next book in the series to see where the story goes next. Wild Bastard by India Kells is the third book in A Dark Sparrow series. This tells the story of Kai and Isabel. Kai is trying to take down his father’s business and in the process runs into his past. Isabel after breaking his heart in the past has become a strong woman who has a life and secrets of her own. Will the two find their happily ever after? Like the other books in the series, this can be read as a standalone. I have enjoyed not only this one but the others as well. Characters overlap and it is nice to get Kai’s story. I enjoyed the characters and wanted to see everything work out for them. The problems they encounter are crazy at times but seem to bring them closer and in a better understanding of one another. I enjoyed this book and look forward to others from this author.

Paladin’s Hell: Satan’s Devils MC (Colorado Chapter Book 1) by Manda Mellett – Review by Randall Murphy This is a great story of young love that prevails through time, doubt, and well-meaning obstacles. The MC life is not for everyone and is a culture unto itself, but there is loyalty and family present that goes way beyond blood lines. This story has plenty of sub-plots and suspense to keep you interested all the way to the end. The characters are well-developed and relatable allowing you to easily visualize the people and the scenes. It’s easy to cheer for the young couple as the older adults mistakenly put obstacles in the way that are well-intentioned, but just drive the two hearts together faster.

Laurie L.C Lewis is a new author for me, and after having experienced her writing I will definitely be looking forward to reading more. This book was an excellent thriller, suspense read that had me hooked & captivated from the start. You were on the edge of your seat with the twists and turns that were weaved throughout the read! I loved the characters that Lewis has created, they were well developed, relatable and likeable. I loved the journey we were taken on, it was a rollercoaster ride of suspense, intrigue, mystery and a thrilling ride of secrets. I’m so glad I got the chance to read this, I can’t wait to read more from this author to see what else she brings!

This was another great new author find. I really enjoyed this quaint little romance. The author has a refreshing style. I found that the characters were realistic. I found myself lost in this book as I would love to visit that part of Scotland featured in the book.
Ailey and Alec are such a good couple. I found myself really interested in Ailey’s character as I have known a few people with alcohol addiction. I like how the author balanced the drama in the book with the romance. It kept me glued to the book and at the edge of my seat to see what would happen next. I really liked how the book was not predictable. I will definitely be reading more from this author in the future.

This is a set of books that will hook you in from the very beginning and will take you on a journey that includes suspense and romance. The books had me turning pages wondering what was going to happen next. I really loved reading about the character of Archer Blackwood. Archer is a man that is considered hard and cold. He finds himself in a world that he never knew existed. Will he also discover love? I also enjoyed reading about the character of Kai. He is resourceful and who with his brothers have the objective of bringing down their father. What will happen when a woman from his past reappears with secrets of her own? I found myself caring about each one of these characters with each chapter that I read. The stories had my emotions going up and down the entire time I was reading them. There are romantic scenes and also bantering back and forth. I also enjoyed reading about the other characters that are introduced. Don’t miss out on a set of stories that will pull you in and not let you go until the final page. Highly recommended.

The Dark Sparrow Box Set contains books 1-3 in the thrilling Dark Sparrow Series by India Kells. It contains the 3 full length novels Lost Bastard, Cold Bastard and Wild Bastard. India Kells is an author I’ve come to love over the last 18 months and these 3 books are a fantastic example of how great an author she is. The Dark Sparrow series is centred around 6 brothers. They are all the bastard sons of their evil father and have joined forces to bring him down. Each book gives us the story of one brother and the woman who has captured his heart. These 3 books contain Alexsei, Archer and Kai. You could technically read each of these books as a standalone but as it’s such an amazing series I’d definitely recommend reading them all, starting with these 3. If you love a great romance story which is filled with drama and suspense then this is definitely the series for you. India Kells sure knows how to write a fantastic story that will take you on an amazing roller coaster of a journey. Added to that is her skill of writing amazing characters who really draw you into their stories and make you want more. I promise that you will absolutely love Alexsei, Archer and Kai. As there are 6 brothers I’m kind of assuming that we are going to get another 3 fabulous books to add to this series. I have loved this series from the first book I picked up. I was excited to see that the first three books in this series is in one box set. Each book is about a different brother, one is rich, one is a beach bum and the other is an orphan. They are hot, sexy men that will take you on a journey of secrets, romance and even some action. A Dark Sparrow Box Set – Books 1-3 (Dark Sparrow Series) by India Kells is a great series you want to get your hands on.
Book 1 Brilliant! Deva is forced to return to a life she left leave behind but it is only temporary, or so she tries to tell herself but she finds herself falling in love with a man who would be her downfall. His world is not a world she wants to be in.
Aleksei is a MMA fighter with ties to the Russian Bratva and a dark, dark world. Aleksei’s fathers is an evil man and he has just discovered that there are others that hate the man as much as he does.
I’m not going to give the plot away, but I will say this was a superbly written story, a gripping page-turner, with a good helping of grit, angst and smouldering scenes. A fabulous read for those who love the genre and I will very much look forward to reading more.
Cold Bastard (Dark Sparrow Novel Book 2) is a real page turner and the chaos start from the very beginning. We are thrown into a world where power and money mean more than blood. India’s stories are cleverly woven together and are definite page turners and she has never let me down. I know I am in great hands when I pick up one of her explosive stories. I was on the edge of my seat and I was unable to put it down as I had to know what was coming. The story complex and multi layered and is full of action and danger, intrigue and suspense, secrets and lies and so much more and sizzling, sexy and hot, hot, hot.
Isabelle is introduced to the Bastards and chosen for her particular ability, to help them bring down a monster. What she did not expect was a part of her past to show and have all her secrets revealed.
Kai is torn between bringing down the man who destroys everything, to the one woman who can bring him to his knees.
India has lead us through a world where suspense and danger are the name of the game. Where secrets and lies could ruin it all. Where monsters lurk and cause havoc. Where love is is found in the unlikely of circumstances.

Secrets Never Die is a well-written tale full of suspense. There is a lot of detail and a lot of twists and turns to keep up with, but the mystery of it all keeps you hooked. The characters are full of depth and complexity. If you want a rollercoaster ride of danger and intrigue, this is the book for you. Just be prepared to be in it for the long-haul. Paladin’s Hell by Manda Mellet is the first book in the Satan’s Devil’s MC Colorado Chapter spin off series.
I’ve read several of the Tucson books and liked each of the characters and was sad to say bye to them but I quickly found myself getting attached to the Pueblo crew and this was the perfect way for them to introduced to us.
Paladin is a good person and will do anything he needs to for Jayden. Their relationship didn’t start in the most conventional way but the depth of their love was a surprise to everyone especially them.
Though Hell and Moira are older then my husband and I, I felt like I could relate to her more because of the stage they are in in their life. Empty nesting is a learning process and Moira probably could have done it and a few other things differently.
I will be keeping up with this series. I want to know what happens to everyone and get to know each of the new guys better.

When I left everything behind to go nomad, I didn’t expect to run into trouble before I stepped foot in the clubhouse I was aiming for.

How this will work out, I’ve no idea. Would I survive on the outside, no longer being a member of an MC? Could I give up everything, even my identity to be with her? Or can I ask my brothers to step in and save us both?
Manda’s life’s always seemed a bit weird, starting with a childhood that even today she’s still trying to make sense of, then losing her parents in the late teens. Going from the tragic to the bizarre, who else could be unlucky enough to have had two car accidents, neither her fault, one involving a nun, and another involving a police woman? There isn’t enough space to list everything that’s happened to Manda, or what she’s learned from it. But by using the rich fabric of her personal life, psychology degree, varied work experiences, and amazing characters she’s met, Manda is able to populate her books with believable in-depth characters and enjoys pitting them against situations which challenge them. Her books are full of suspense, twists and turns and the unexpected. Manda lives in the beautiful countryside of Essex in the UK, the area’s claim to fame being the Wilkin’s Jam Factory at nearby Tiptree. She can usually find jars of jam which remind her of home wherever she goes. As well as writing books and reading, Manda loves walking her dogs and keeping fit. She lives with her husband of over 30 years, who, along with her son, is her greatest fan and supporter. Manda is thankful that one of the more unusual, and at the time unpleasant, turns her life took, now enables her to spend her time writing. Confirming, in her view, every cloud has a silver lining.

This isn’t my first read by this author and she didn’t disappoint me in Paladin’s Hell the first book in the Satan’s Devils MC Colorado Chapter written by Ms. Mellett. The characters are great especially since we have already met them. They are well written, and I loved the plot. Jayden and Paladin relationship has been building through-out the Satan’s Devil series. They met two years ago she has been in love with him as he is in love with her. Paladin gave her time grow and had to wait years for her because she was to young. He knew without a doubt she was his girl. Now they’re on their way to a new compound in Colorado away from overprotective brothers they finally have a chance to be together or so they thought. Jayden and Paladin are just beginning a new club, a new life. But things are different here he doesn’t fit in and he is out of his depth. So instead of the beginning is it the end?
For some reason, Hellfire the president and Moira his old lady wants to force Jayden and I apart. They have been married for thirty-six years and their marriage is on shaky ground spills over into how they treat them. Is it because they see themselves in the younger couple or can it be their just miserable and don’t want to see anyone around them happy? Will they make it work or will outside forces break them apart? Will they get their happily ever-after? You must read this great book and find out. I highly recommend this book….

I was hooked from the very beginning! Wendy Hewlett jumped right in with some difficult topics but has pulled it off in such an amazing and humanizing way. Ailey is one of the most believable characters I’ve read. She hasn’t had an easy time of it, but she doesn’t let that stop her from rediscovering herself. Such a good story of redemption and family. Solid work. 4 stars.

Secrets Never Die by Laurie Lewis is a book jammed packed with suspense and mystery. It grabs your complete attention right from the beginning and doesn’t ever let go. Laurie Lewis has created the kind of story has you on the edge of your seat trying to guess what might be happening. The story is full of twists and turns the whole way through and yet she does such a good job at controlling them all it is easy to keep track of what is happening. The characters were brilliant as well. They are the type that you just want to read more about. I would definitely not be disappointed if we were taken back into their lives at any point. This is a 5* author and an amazing book!

AILEY OF SKYE is the type of book that I thought I knew what was going to happen and settled in for some predictability only to discover, within the first few pages, how wrong I was.
A story of discovering one’s true self and the whole nature vs nurture theory of life (there was very little nurture). Watching the growth of each character as the story evolves held my attention.
This is a well developed story with a realism and honesty about recovery and the tenuous hold we have on it sometimes. Emotionally gripping at times, with twists and unexpected situations, I read this in one sitting.
I will be checking out this author’s other books to add to my TBR.

I found the story Ailey of Skye by Wendy Hewlett to be an amazing book to read. It pulls you in right from the beginning and didn’t let me go until I had read the final page. It is a story that will have you believing in the strength of the human spirit and of the will to survive. I loved reading about the main character of Aileen MacEwan. She is a young woman that has an inner strength that shows for all to see. She at times has to be reminded of it. Aileen is a recovering alcoholic/addict who has come to the Isle of Scotland to a house that her grandmother left her. She is trying to figure out what is next in her life. It is on the island that the past is revealed, and revelations are made. I found Aileen to be strong and independent. Read her journey as she develops a “friendly” relationship with a Scottish football legend and discovers her family ties. This is a book that had my emotions going up and down the entire time I was reading. It also had me hooked and turning pages to find out what happens next. I couldn’t help but find myself caring about Aileen with each chapter that I read. I don’t believe I can put into words how deeply I loved reading this story. I would highly recommend reading it.

This extremely well written book transports the reader into this emotional journey of self discovery with some Scotland on the side. I dove right into these pages and devoured it. I felt transported to the Isle of Skye and felt each emotional tug in our main character’s journey. This is my first book from this author and certainly won’t be my last. Thoroughly enjoyed it and look forward to reading it again.

Ailey of Skye by Wendy Hewlett is a highly emotional book that will easily have you invested in the characters. This book is the first one that I have read by this author so I really didn’t know what to expect. The blurb was intriguing. It hinted at mystery and drama with a great storyline. The book definitely lived up to that. I found it so easy to be drawn into the character of Ailey. She has such a depth and complexity about her. The way the author portrayed her really made her feel “normal”. She could have been anyone of us which made the whole story seem more real. I really engaged with the authors writing style. It was well paced and developed the story well. This was a great book and a brilliant way to be introduced to this author.

Ailey of Skye by Wendy Hewlett. This is the story of Aileen MacEwan from Toronto who is recovering from alcohol and drug addiction. When her grandmother passes away and leaves her a house on the Isle of Skye in Scotland she heads there to try to find herself and decide what to do with the house. Recently being released from Rehab she’s really in a precarious situation. She wants to do this on her own but she’s scared she may feel the need to drink. Once she arrives at her grandmother’s house there is a strange man living in it. The man in the house seems to be the tip of the iceberg when it comes to things she didn’t know and it even becomes dangerous. Her past comes up and she’s not sure she can get thru this without the old crutch she always used. This is a wonderful story of family, love and addiction issues. Once you start you won’t want to put it down.

Secrets Never Die by Laurie Lewis is a fantastic mystery that is full of drama, suspense, danger, action, intrigue, twists, secrets, lies, cover-ups, heartache, questions, discoveries, and cleverly woven details. I always look forward to reading anything Ms. Lewis produces, and this book was no different. This is definitely my favourite of all her books that I have read, so far. I was completely absorbed by the story and was trying to figure it all out before anything was revealed. There is quite a lot going on in the story, with lots of details, and inter-connected elements which were a little hard to keep track of at times, but I soon got in the groove and loved unravelling the puzzle. Tallie Brown has just lost her mother and has been left with many questions she needs answers to. So, she embarks on a journey of discovery which leads her to Cutler’s Ridge where the story really takes off. The more she ‘investigates’ the more questions arise. Her world is shaken, and her mettle and emotions are tested to the limit. Little does she know going in that things will take quite a dangerous turn. There are secrets and cover-ups, and much to uncover on her quest for answers. Jackson James had a promising journalistic career and was on-track to great things, when it was all snatched away, and he has been living with the consequences of that bad decision ever since. When an opportunity to redeem himself comes to his attention, he jumps at the chance. Finding himself in Cutler’s Ridge on the trail of a ‘hot’ story. There he crosses paths with Tallie- and so the mystery begins. This is such a clever and suspenseful story, and I really enjoyed how Ms. Lewis pulled and twisted the tale, keeping the tension quite gripping. I loved the characters- they worked really well together. I would love to read more about them in future books. Perhaps they could have their own ‘investigation’/mystery series. ? Hint, hint Ms. Lewis. ? Highly recommended- definitely worth your time and money to read!!! Can’t wait to see what Ms. Lewis does next!

By the fifth breath she was starting to feel a little calmer, but she still wanted a drink. She wondered if they had AA meetings on the Isle of Skye. She should probably check that out.”
Aileen MacEwan (Ailey) had just finished a stint in rehab in her hometown of Toronto, when she inherits her grandmother’s home on the Isle of Skye. She sets off to figure out what she wants to do, and re-discover herself in the process. But when she gets there, things don’t quite go according to her plans- for a start there’s a strange man ‘living’ in her grandmother’s house. She soon discovers that this is just the tip of the iceberg- uncovering much more than she ever could have imagined. With danger making itself known, and her past coming into play, did Ailey make the right decision coming to Skye? What does she discover? What happens when danger presents itself? Will she return to Canada defeated, or will she find the stability she’s been looking for in Skye? This book has quite a few emotional elements- and some difficult topics are depicted, such as addiction and substance abuse- but the author handled it all in a very realistic, informative, and sensitive way. Ailey has been through so much, and is a lot stronger than she gives herself credit for. Her sobriety is tested, and she has choices to make. There was a lot of character growth and development throughout the book- Ailey in particular learned and grew from her experiences and the Ailey we meet at the start of the book is quote different to who we see at the end. I really enjoyed this introduction to Ms. Hewlett’s work. This may have been my first read from her, but it definitely won’t be the last.
