Ailey of Skye by Wendy Hewlett – Review by Kerry Baker

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Ailey of Skye by Wendy Hewlett is a highly emotional book that will easily have you invested in the characters. This book is the first one that I have read by this author so I really didn’t know what to expect. The blurb was intriguing. It hinted at mystery and drama with a great storyline. The book definitely lived up to that.
I found it so easy to be drawn into the character of Ailey. She has such a depth and complexity about her. The way the author portrayed her really made her feel “normal”. She could have been anyone of us which made the whole story seem more real.
I really engaged with the authors writing style. It was well paced and developed the story well. This was a great book and a brilliant way to be introduced to this author.
