Devil’s Due: Satan’s Devils MC (Colorado Chapter #3) by Manda Mellett – Review by Karyn Taylor

Devil's Due: Satan's Devils MC Colorado Chapter #3Devil’s Due: Satan’s Devils MC Colorado Chapter #3 by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Devil’s Due is the 3rd book in the amazing Satan’s Devils (Colorado Chapter) by Manda Mellett. Every time I read one of her books I say it is my favourite and I’m going to say it again. With each book she just gets better and better and I’m even more hooked to her awesome group of bikers.
Like many other reviews you may read of this book, I am not going to name the hero as the author wishes this to be a surprise. A very pleasant surprise.
Like all her other books, this had me gripped straight away and didn’t let me go. I absolutely adored the hero and his heroine Stevie. Stevie is one of the most amazing characters I’ve read in a very long time. I loved that the author chose to have a blind character as her leading lady. And I may add that she’s one determined, stubborn, independent lady. She’s totally kickass and I just adored everything about her.
One thing I love about this author’s writing is that she always throws in a good few twists and turns that you don’t see coming. Reading this book I was convinced that at some point we’d discover that Stevie isn’t actually blind as that’s the kind of thing Manda Mellett does to you. But as I’m usually rubbish as guessing her plot twists, I was wrong as usual! Lol!.
As always from this author, this book is filled with so much drama and suspense, you won’t want to put it down. Added to that is a healthy dose of angst and romance. For me, a perfect package.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Devil’s Dilemma: Satan’s Devils MC Colorado Chapter #4 by Manda Mellett. I always go into any book favorite author or not with an open mind and once again this author has stolen my ability to write a review worthy of the world she creates. From book one I’ve been anxiously waiting for the next book and this one was no different. Once again I found myself drawn into this story world created with a killer storyline and characters you can’t help but feel a connection with. Plenty of romance and action to go around. Melissa and Pyro are characters that make you feel everything they feel. It’s well written and paced nicely never feeling rushed or lacking anything. Five huge stars and so excited to see where readers are taken next.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I truthfully was unsure what I was going to find when I got this book in my hands. However I am a fan of Reis’ work and suspected this book would be no different.

I was right.

These characters found their way into my heart and wouldn’t let go. I was unprepared with how emotionally attached I found myself to the main characters.

Reis continues to do a wonderful job establishing relatable characters with an emotional tie that draws the reader in, regardless of whether it is a fantasy or a contemporary romance. Love this book from start to finish and highly recommend.

This series has been a hit for me and this second book – wowza! Picked up right where the first left off and just ran. Just a fantastic tale – the characters jumped off the page to me. I found myself diving head first into this world of Fae and didn’t want to emerge when I got to the final page. Needless to say I’m very impatiently waiting for the next/final installment! A Dark Sparrow Box Set - Books 1-3A Dark Sparrow Box Set – Books 1-3 by India Kells
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Dark Sparrow Box set features the first three books in the Dark Sparrow series by India Kells.

The first novels features three brothers who have secrets and three women who come into their lives.

The brothers are trying to get away from their father but with their life, they never can.

I love the characters and how the men are okay with being alone or suffering from family tragedies until they meet the one that will melt the ice around their heart and show them there is more to life then how they are currently living.

It sounds like there will be three more books and I am excited to meet the other three brothers and see how this series ends.

FriendFriend by M.L. Sparrow
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Friend was a good 4 star read and book three in the What Happens on Campus series.
This is Terri and Jet’s story.

We start with Terri having a traumatizing event that gives her PTSD. It’s been a couple of weeks and she is still struggling with going out in public and her self esteem.

Jet is Terri’s best friend and knows that she has been through alot and he doesn’t want to push her. He wants to show her that he’s there for her when she’s ready to talk. When Jet starts to get her out doing things, she starts to feel a little better.

Terri has always had feelings for Jet, and going through what she did has opened up both of their eyes as to what is in front of them. Can they come together and finally have what they both have been ignoring for so long?

This was an emotional read that pulled me right in. We get dual POV which I really enjoyed, I like getting both sides of the story. Overall I really enjoyed this read and I look forward to reading more from this author. 1-click and get started today.

Friend : A College Romance is the third book in the What Happens on Campus series by M L Sparrow. It was so happy to get caught up with this cast of characters. It’s been awhile since I read the last book and I enjoyed getting caught up with everyone.

Terri and Jet finally have their story and it was so worth the wait. Terri has been through so much with her twin sister, then she was attacked which caused her to withdraw from normal life. Thankfully she had her best friend Jet there to help her.

Jet’s life is a pretty good one. He has friends and it seems like he is a fairly successful self published author. I feel like it hurt him to see Terri because a shell of her former self and as her best friend he decided he was going to be there for her no matter what and then he finally opens his eyes.

I have loved each of these books but I think Terri is my favorite of the group and her story is my favorite to date. She is a good person and pays it forward whenever the opportunity arises.

I’m looking forward to the next book, think Payton’s story will be just as good as Terri’s.

India Kells writes wonderful series with strong characters. What I liked about THE DARK SPARROW series is that while the men are strong and the women are stronger.

Each book is a standalone but there are interwoven stories and characters that tie them all together.

I enjoyed rereading these one after the other. Each story is well developed, has a little bit of everything (including superhero undies) and all have satisfying endings.

I definitely recommend this boxed set.

Protecting His Heart: a Lawson Family Novel (Lawson Family Series Book 2) by Tracey Cramer-Kelly was an excellent read. It was romantic, tragic, and easy to read. I was completely wrapped up in both Ian and Rachel as this story progressed. Both had tragic situations that occurred in their lives at different times but gave each a different understanding of the other. It also helped them connect on a different level. Saying that, I felt like their characters had different layers that were peeled back as the story progressed. This demonstrated excellent character development as well as the authors own creativity. This was an excellent read and I highly recommend it.

I will start this by saying I love this series. Each book will grab you from the beginning and still won’t let you up in the end! M.L. Sparrow weaves such beautiful stories and each one gets better and better! My heart went out to Terri who is a woman who was attacked and she feels vulnerable in its aftermath. She is fiercely independent and never wants to ask for help unless its severely needed. Jet her her BF who she’s secretly in love with. Jet recognizes the interest between the two of them but is worried about the risks it’ll take on their friendship if something happens badly between them. Between the attack and the feelings, what will they do?

Such a unique and original read. Love this series and this book especially!

SAN DIEGO DEAD (Jake Wolfe Series Book 4) by Mark Nolan – Review by Erica Fish

San Diego Dead (Jake Wolfe #4)San Diego Dead by Mark Nolan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

San Diego Dead is the fourth book in the Jake Wolfe series by Mark Nolan. Mark Nolan does an amazing job in that you can read these books as stand alone stories. Nolan’s characters are lovable and believable just like they were in the “real world”. Nolan has a way of grabbing my attention at the first page and holds my attention until the end. This story kept me on the edge of my seat and even caused me to scream out loud to warn what is coming up. The main characters Jake and his dog Cody have come into some sticky situations and in this story there is no difference. Jake and Cody are on vacation, at least they thought they were on vacation. There just happens to be a drug cartel with a deadly package that needs to be found. Jake and Cody are on the case and we will see who gets to the package first. Will Jake and Cody find the package before the drug cartel? Will the drug cartel get the package first which will cause some deaths? Stay tune and read San Diego Dead to find out which party finds the deadly package.

Friend is the third book in M.L. Sparrow’s What Happens on Campus series and please do not try to read it as a standalone, you will feel lost so do yourself a favour and start from the beginning! If you do enjoy college series then you will enjoy the whole series, I promise!
Finally Terri and Jet are getting their story! It has been a long time coming, sort of … I love the stories of from friends to lovers, the journey from being simply friends and becoming more, the anxiety that comes along, the doubts, and especially when we talk about the young ones who are just finding out what and who they want … I loved the care Jet took with Terri after the attack that left her paralyzed with fear and anxiety, how he helped her to find herself again … and convinces her that he truly has feeling for her and it is not just something to make her feel better!
I am looking forward to the next story in the series; hopefully it will be Payton’s!

Protecting His Heart (Lawson Family, #2)Protecting His Heart by Tracey Cramer-Kelly
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Tracey Cramer-Kelly had hit another home run with this second book of the Lawson Family novels, Protecting His Heart. Once again she has tackled a difficult and emotional struggle of abuse, and she has done it with a perfect balance. You can tell the amount of emotion and work that is put into each of these novels with how well they read and how well they manage to make you feel all the feels without being so heavy you can’t enjoy the novel.

In this one we get the full story of Ian and Rachel. These two have both dealt with abuse of some form and are tackling adulthood and romance with these scars. I loved how they were easily relatable and so realistic I felt as if they were close friends that I am regularly rooting for. I loved the glimpse of the past characters in book one and a set up for book three. We should have have another fantastic story with that one and I look forward to getting my hands on it. In the meantime go and devour these two books I promise you will be so glad that you did! Happy reading!

Demon's Angel: Satan's Devils MC (Colorado Chapter) #2Demon’s Angel: Satan’s Devils MC (Colorado Chapter) #2 by Manda Mellett
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

YES! This series is everything! I fell in love with the Satan’s Devils MC in the first series and this is the spinoff series featuring the Colorado Chapter. So, Colorado happens to be one of my most favorite places on earth and I adore feeling like I made a quick trip back to visit with each of these novels that I have picked up. Demon’s Angel is book two in the series, but I suppose you could read them in whatever order that you desire. I would recommend that you read the first series and the first book first for the best experience though. We do get to meet lots of people who are regulars so to speak.

I loved seeing Demon, the newest president to the Club, head up this chapter. We meet him back in book one just a tad as the president of Hellfire at the time. He is a swoony guy that seeps confidence, strength, and sex appeal, giving him the perfect Alpha male persona that will jump right off the kindle screen as you read. He will be faced with his past and obstacles that will test him will make for some great reading I can promise that.

We also get to know Violet more so. She is one heck of a strong woman and kills single motherhood since the death of her beloved Nathan. However it has been ten years and her heart may want to love another. Will everything blow up in their faces or will they be able to decipher the MC code enough to make their desire for one another work? These two will make you believe in love all over again. I can’t wait to see what will come with the next installment!

Elemental Fae Academy: Book Two (Elemental Fae Academy #2)Elemental Fae Academy: Book Two by Lexi C. Foss
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The adventures of the Elemental Fae Academy book two, picks up right where we left off with book one. Claire has been thrust into the world of the Fae with powers and chaos without so much as a little bit of a heads up. She must figure out how she fits in this world and what her purpose will truly be. Along the way we get to meet five handsome, rugged, and swoon worthy men that are by her side and in a part of her harem. If five seems like a bit much and you are skeptical of Harem novels, please don’t hesitate with this one. These authors have perfectly orchestrated this tale to accommodate all of their personalities and brings them to life so perfectly. I could not get enough of this book and truly am anxiously awaiting the next installment of the series. If you haven’t had the chance to read book one start there but these are must reads for fans of paranormal and fantasy romance!

Evil SushiEvil Sushi by C.A. King
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I have seriously fallen in love with the writings of CA King this last year. So much so, that I have started to share some of her work with my tween daughter so that I have someone to discuss these awesome books and the worlds that are brought to life within them. Evil Sushi is one of those books that makes a dystopian world terrifying. I loved this book! As per King’s typical, she has created a world where the environment begins to fight back. I love that just as you think to know what to expect things become very multidimensional and adds twists and turns that one could never have predicted.

I won’t give you much more details other than what is already divulged in the blurb and my own thoughts on the book because I just couldn’t bear to ruin this story. I will say that this book will lead us directly to a second book, Sashimi! I will be anxiously awaiting it to see what will come next. I am sure that I will love it too! In the meantime go grab Evil Sushi and dig in today! Its one you don’t want to miss!

After the cliffhanger left me dangling in part one, I couldn’t wait to read this one. This book does not disappoint! It picks up exactly where the last one finishes and takes you on a roller coaster ride filled with danger, intrigue and so much passion, it will leave you breathless. This is not a stand-alone, go back and read the first part. This series is well worth it!

Exos is taken and Claire feels the loss. It is like a piece of her is missing. Titas tried to help but she needs so much more. Cyrus enters the picture and although he’s an arrogant jerk most of the time, I love him! He’s exactly what Claire needs. He becomes her rock of support and like a tsunami, threatens to destroy anyone who tries to harm her.

More characters were introduced in this novel. Each unique and complex within themselves. I loved each and every one of them for different reasons. Her chosen mates add their individual strengths to her, giving her exactly what she needs. Claire has a lot on her plate in this book. Trying to locate Exos, tentatively getting to know her other mates better and trying to stay alive. Someone is out to get her and they need to figure out who it is before it’s too late.

The development and the growth of the characters was amazing. So much happens in this novel, it will blow you away. I loved this book even more than the first. This series keeps getting better and better. I can’t wait to read part three.

To Kill a Fae (The Dragon Portal Book 1) by Jamie A. Waters – Review by Angela Hayes

To Kill a Fae (The Dragon Portal Series, #1)To Kill a Fae by Jamie A. Waters
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

OMG why have I not discovered this author before now!!! This is one of my favourite books of the year, if not ever!!! I was completely riveted by the story- from beginning to end- and didn’t come up for air till I had wrung every last word off the pages. I got to the end and wanted more- not the more like it was lacking in some way- because this story is anything but lacking! No- the more as in, I don’t want to leave the story- I want to stay in its embrace- and I NEED to know what’s going to happen and don’t make me leave this ‘world’. That’s how good this book is. I NEED the next book STAT! Like today- no, make that YESTERDAY!!!!
To Kill a Fae is the first incredible instalment in The Dragon Portals Series by Jamie A. Waters. As you may have gathered by this point in my review, this is my first read from Ms. Waters- and what an brilliant introduction to her work/style this book has been. After stalking her, I mean ‘researched’ her- I have discovered that she has a whole slew of other book which I can’t wait to explore! They should keep me occupied for a while- and maybe keep my mind off the next book in this series, till it releases.
This is a sublime fantasy- with magic, Fae, action, adventure, drama, demons, dragons, other paranormal/supernatural beings & creatures, secrets, chemistry, tension, twists, and romance.
We jump straight into the action, right from the beginning- as Ms. Waters weaves this exciting tale. Her world building is fantastic- creating a rich and vivid ‘landscape’ in which to set her story. Her attention to detail is remarkable- and her little touches only enhance this otherwise superbly crafted world, making it so believable and ‘real’ that I was transported into the story and experienced everything right alongside the characters. Down to a detailed backstory, history, and cultural touches- nothing was left to chance. Giving the story an added depth and richness that can be lacking in other books.
I loved that this story is told from a duel perspective- as it gave me so much more to ponder. The story is definitely intriguing and suspenseful- and comes with quite a lot of heart-pounding action that had me devouring the pages to discover how things would play out.
The characters are truly wonderful- an absolutely stellar cast whom I couldn’t have loved more even if you’d paid me!! Sabine and Malek are divine. I LOVE every single little thing about them. They are so well developed, and they continued to grow and develop throughout the story. Even the secondary characters didn’t miss out on this attention- and their parts really enhanced the whole story. I loved the addition of the street urchins & Edvar, as well as Blossom & Barley- but especially Bane, Dax, Esme, and Balkin- pure genius on Ms. Water’s part.
I can’t find the words to truly do this story the justice it deserves, and I can’t recommend this book highly enough! So, do yourself the favour and grab a copy and discover all the spellbinding delights for yourself! This is definitely one of those stories that will stay with you long after you close the cover (have you noticed how fantastic this cover is- just WOW).

Kudos, and thank you, Jamie A. Waters- I’m looking forward to our next rendezvous!

Demon's Angel: Satan's Devils MC (Colorado Chapter) #2Demon’s Angel: Satan’s Devils MC (Colorado Chapter) #2 by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Demon’s Angel is the 2nd book in the amazing Satan’s Devils (Colorado Chapter) Series by Manda Mellett. Each book can be read as a stand-alone although the characters from other books, including her Satan’s Devils Arizona series, do appear in all books. I first read this author’s work near the end of the Arizona series and each time I read another, it becomes my favourite. This time is no different. The stories just keep getting better and better.
You would think that after so many books the storylines could become stale or too similar but it’s totally the opposite. This book, like the others before it, grabbed me in from the very beginning and didn’t let go. In this book we are told the story of Demon who is the president of the Satan’s Devils in Colorado. Demon has had a lot to come to terms with recently (as we learned in Paladin’s Hell). Last thing he needs is a woman distracting him but when Violet Palmer comes back into his life needing help, he just can’t resist the one woman who has always had a place in his heart.
This book had all the feels. The intrigue and suspense will have you on the edge of your seat. There are many twists and turns in the story that keep you totally gripped. I absolutely love the way that Manda Mellett weaves a fascinating story with characters that you can’t help but fall in love with. I definitely recommend this book.

4 out of 5 stars

San Diego Dead is the fourth book in the Jakes Wolfe series but it’s only the second book in this series that I have read. The characters were well written and the story was in-depth, intense and very suspenseful. I really enjoyed this story.

Jake Wolfe is a Marine-turned-lawyer Jake Wolfe is on his vacation to sunny San Diego and Cabo San Lucas. While enjoying the white beaches, warm blue water and boat trips among the gray whales he also finds cold blooded murder. He crosses paths with a criminal cartel urgently seeking to reclaim a deadly package.

Jake learns the missing item is a threat to US citizens and vows to stop the cartel from possessing it, no matter what vigilante justice actions he might have to take. Time is running out and thousands of innocent lives are at risk ill Jake be-able to save the innocent lives?

I was a little lost in the beginning because I didn’t know what happened because I didn’t read book 2 and 3 but I will be reading them soon.

The writing is well done and the characters are unique. Ms. Sparrow’s a wonderful storyteller. I did find that some of the pages were a little wordy, leading away from the actual story. I enjoyed the story just the same and would highly recommend reading this book, as well as the previous ones in the series!

San Diego Dead (Jake Wolfe #4)San Diego Dead by Mark Nolan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I can not get enough of reading and visualizing Jake and Cody “working” together. When an officer says she need volunteer DNA sample from a suspect. Jake and Cody say “no problem” and proceed to “scare” the man til he pees his pants. Then smile and say Thank you for your donation. Stuff like this are what make Jake and Cody so much fun to read. Plus all the personable time with Cody wanting bacon or huffing in agreement or laughing(pant, pant, pant) at what Jake says. Cody is a star in his own. He helps make this action adventure story.

Jake ….well Jake is the brains of the operations. He is smart on his own. I love how his brain works to figure things out. He must get that from his Marine days. Think fast and on your feet. He is not afraid and steps right up to danger. His friends are as important as his dog are to him. I love love love his dedication to Cody. I am surprised all the places he takes Cody during the book. When Cody is added to him they are an unstoppable team.

The secondary characters are all helpful in moving the story along. Roxanne, Terrell, Pez and even the agents all have light hearted moments that make this story not quite so heavy. Add in Jakes sarcasm/wit and Cody’s dogginess and it’s a perfect recipe.

I have enjoyed all of these books so far. This one is no exception. It is full of action and moves right along. The characters are fun, dangerous and interesting. It’s easy to forget daily life and just keep reading about Cody and Jake. My only wish is that these would come out on audio.

PS. Thanks for the wonderful new gear I was able to read about. As always I love the Dear Reader at the back so I can find out what is real.

Oh how I loved this story! I was completely hooked from the very beginning and it definitely gave me all the feels whilst I was reading. I have read a few books by this author now and I definitely think that this one was my absolute favourite so far! The characters were just so well thought out and so realistic, I could honestly imagine what was happening whilst I was reading. I felt really involved in their lives as a reader and because of that I felt this deeper connection with them. I loved Rachel and I really did feel for her and the dilemma she faced – what she wanted and her reality really were two different things. I loved Ian – he was so dreamy but his past had me in tears at times! Although Rachel was with Josh I was 100% behind her and Ian being together – I thought they would make THE perfect couple!!
I cannot recommend this story enough – especially if you are looking for one that will give you all the feels and bring out your emotions whilst reading! I can’t wait to read more from this author again in the future!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Friend: A College Romance (What Happens on Campus book 3) by M.L Sparrow is sadly the last book in this series. It is a college romance and has all the angst and drama that you expect from these stories. This series is well written and the characters are complex with all their flaws at that age. Reading these books in order is a must or you will not understand what is going on.

Terri Murphy is still reeling from a terrible and horrible trauma. As she struggles Jet is by her side and the two could not be more perfectly matched but he seemed to only want a friendship with her but is that all she wants? As Jet helps her navigate her way through all the sorrow and helps her put all the pieces together again he realises that there could be more for them. Now all he has to do is convince her.

Friend (What Happens on Campus Series Book 3) by M L Sparrow – Review by Angelina Frazzini

FriendFriend by M.L. Sparrow
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Friend by ML Sparrow is book three of the What Happens on Campus series. This book may be difficult for some readers as it deals with sensitive subjects but it was very well written. This book is a friends to lovers college romance and it has it all. There’s friendship, drama, emotion and so much more.

Terri is the reliable, stable twin. She’s never really had to ask for help and now that she has to, it’s not as easy as one would think. To help herself move on from the experience she wants so badly to move past, she decides to stay back from spring break but so does Jet, her best friend. He really wants to help her anyway he can. As he begins spending more time with her, he starts noticing things that he didn’t see before. He starts seeing Terri in a new light. Will he be able to convince Terri that his feelings are real and not just a way to make her feel better?

This was such a good book. I was pulled into the story and couldn’t put it down until I was done! It was so well written and the characters were fully developed. I felt they learned a lot about themselves as the story progressed, taking us on their journey. I highly recommend!

SECRETS NEVER DIE by Laurie Lewis – Review by Maura Harper

Secrets Never DieSecrets Never Die by Laurie L.C. Lewis
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

SECRETS NEVER DIE is one of those books that I read based solely on the author’s name and nothing else. I have always enjoyed the way this author tells a tale and holy moly, this was quite the tale.

This is a well plotted, intricately woven, always in motion story that holds your attention from beginning to end. There are times that I got a little lost because I was reading too fast and missed important details. I had to make myself slow down so I could absorb what was going on.

Fantastic world building, suspenseful, twists and turns abound while leaning why some SECRETS NEVER DIE.

I think this book would make a fantastic selection for a book club or dinner night discussion.
