Devil’s Dilemma: Satan’s Devils MC (Colorado Chapter #4) by Manda Mellett – Review by Maura Harper

Devil's Dilemma (Satan's Devils MC Colorado Chapter #4)Devil’s Dilemma by Manda Mellett
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

3.5 stars

DEVIL’S DILEMMA is Book 4 in the Satans’s Devils MC series and can absolutely be read as a standalone. While there are overlapping characters and story lines, there is enough explanation to understand what is going on.

This is a very detailed, slow paced story that mainly takes place in 5 months time. I will admit that I found myself frequently skimming because it was just too slow for me. It could just be the space I am in but the story just seemed to drag.

I have enjoyed the other stories by this author so I won’t give up on the series.

A side note… I love this cover, it feels like a more real representation of the story.

Another great book from a great author. This is the second book in the spicetopia series and it’s just as good as the first one, it is my suggestion you read the first one before you dive into this one. This book is full of temperature rising moments, great characters and emotions. This author does an exceptional job creating an original story that pulls you in and you become completely invested in the characters and the story line. I loved the idea of an adult theme park, to find out if this idea comes to life you must read this book. This author has easily become one of my favorites and I highly recommend this book.

Run from Love (Bowser Belles Book 2) by Teddy Cat Hester

5-stars

Run from Love (Bowser Belles Book 2) by Teddy Cat Hester was a fun romantic novel that was easy to read. I loved Scarlet, Dilly, Daffy, Nick , and even young Noah. They all had excellent character development. Dilly and Daffy were portrayed as very sweet and obedient pups. They had an excellent connection with Scarlett, their owner. Scarlett had a 6 month rule when it came to dating which to me was odd but made sense as the story went on. I loved how dedicated and determined Nick was in breaking that habit. He was an excellent man and was described as being very attractive. Scarlett and Nick both made the story excellent and very enjoyable. I loved following along as they moved their “non relationship” to a new level. Such an amazing read!

This author has a way of making you feel so connected and invested in her characters story and journey you can’t help but love each character and want them to get a HEA. This is most definitely my favourite MC series to date, along with everything else this amazing author writes.

SAN DIEGO DEAD (Jake Wolfe Series Book 4) by Mark Nolan – Review by Jana Teppih

San Diego Dead (Jake Wolfe #4)San Diego Dead by Mark Nolan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

San Diego Dead is the fourth instalment in Mark Nolan’s Jake Wolfe series. You can read it as a standalone as each book has its own story BUT I would recommend you to read them in order as then you really get into Jake and his friends’/compatriots’ lives. I love how there is a story line below it all that carries on from story to story!
San Diego Dead is an action thriller that is so fast paced that it leaves you breathless! It takes Jake, our lawyer, ex-marine, and covert operative, and his ex war dog Cody after cartels, narcoterrorists, assassins and it is filled with danger and violence and murder and sharks and … what else do you need?! Add to this that the story is told from multiple point of views and I have to confess that one of the best one is through the perspective of Cody!
I understand that the romance is sort of secondary to Jake Wolfe stories, still there were moments when my heart ached when I read about the rocky patches that Jake and Sarah hit and until the last page I was there with Cody, hoping that Jake does his best to work things out with her …
This is already the fourth book of Jake and Cody’s adventures and I cannot wait what the writer will bring us next!

The characters bring the story to life especailly Becca who is such as a bad a$$, loved her. This installment is Becca and Zack’s story. They met each other as children, as adults they met again but this time they have scars. They have great chemistry together. Will they heal each other? I highly recomend this book.

This is a sweet romance story that I enjoyed from the first page to the last. It is a well developed story that made me feel as if I was right there with the characters. The characters are connectable and realistic. Scarlett is a woman who needs to have more confidence in herself. She has a six month rule on her relationships, after that she ends the relationship before she faces rejection. In comes Nick, will he convice her to break her rule? I highly recommend finding out what happens next.

Battling Becklett by T Christiansen was a captivating forbidden step brother romance. I would give this book a four out of five stars. I really loved Greer’s character and could relate to her. She has this quiet introversion that is so genuine that she seems to capture everyone’s attention. I found Beckett mildly annoying with his stereotypical jock bad boy. What redeems him is an understanding of what makes such a young man so jadee. I really enjoyed the pace and struggled to put the book down.

I was so excited when I found out the next book was out in this series. I have loved reading about the Fisher Men from the very first story and this one is an amazing read. It has a wonderful storyline that will hook you in and also amazing characters. I loved reading about Becca. She is a strong, intelligent, beautiful, and stubborn young woman. She is no longer the same little girl The Seh thought she was. Read this book to find out more about Becca. This story had my emotions going up and down the entire time I was reading it. There were times I was angry, times when I was sad and heartbroken, and then there were heartwarming times as well. When reading this book, I went on a journey that I didn’t see coming and was pleasantly surprised at how the author really made you feel for the characters as you read what is going on in their lives. There are some steamy scenes that you read about which makes the temperature in the room rise. This is a story that has characters who touched my heart and also made me laugh. I highly recommend reading it.

By: Teddy Cat Hester
5 out of 5 stars

The story Run from Love (Bowser Belles Book 2) by Teddy Cat Hester is a wonderful book to read. It pulls you in right from the start and I found myself not wanting to put it down until I had finished the final page. I loved reading about the characters of Scarlett Peacock and Nick Schafer. Scarlett is a woman who has rules. One of them is a strict 6-month rule when dating. She doesn’t do relationships or meet children. Her time with Nick is just about up and she knows that she is going to move on. Nick is a man who is up for a partnership in his job and also loves to spend time with his son and Scarlett. He knows that his time is short. Will Nick get Scarlett to break her own rules? What does the future hold for Scarlett and Nick? Read this book to find out. This story was fun to read. It had playful bantering back and forth between Nick and Scarlett as well as times when I had a smile on my face. I also loved that Scarlett’s dogs Daffy and Dilly are included in the story. I enjoy when an author not only puts animals such as dogs and cats in their story, they become a part of it. I grew to care about Nick and Scarlett with each chapter that I read and wanted them to find happiness. This is a book that will hook you in and have you glued to the pages. I highly recommend reading it.

What if you were the Angel of Death, collecting the souls of the recently departed- only to fall in love with one of the souls you were meant to be harvesting? Well this is exactly the dilemma faced by Angel of Death, Sky, when he meets and falls for Caleb- only to then find out that he’s the soul Sky is meant to be taking. He has a decision to make- one that will have far reaching consequences. What will he choose? What does fate have in store for these two? Is there any possibility of a future together? Will love win out in the end?
Lavender Fields by Natalina Reis is a little darker, more thrilling, and more intense than I had been expecting. This really made my reading experience even better than I had been expecting. There is suspense, drama, danger, violence, action, and a wonderful M/M romance.
I have read most of Ms. Reis’ books now, and loved them all- but this one is definitely one of my firm favourites!
I loved every word of this fantastic story, and I can’t wait to see what Ms. Reis has in store for us in her next book!

Thank you, Ms Reis!

Protecting His Heart (A Lawson Family Novel #2) By Tracey Cramer-Kelly
4 stars!!!!

I have to say that even on paper a man in uniform is hot. This is the second book I have read from this author and I was not disappointed. I really find that the author has a great writing style. The characters just come off of the pages.

I could relate with some of the issues the author has in this book. I really like how she writes the real life issues into the story. I really could relate to Ian about his dad and in some respects I could relate to Rachel. There is such a great chemistry between the two as the book progresses. The author creates just enough drama along with the romance to bring a realism to the book. I really enjoyed reading this book and will read more from this author in the future.

Evil Sushi is the first book in the Evil Sushi series. The ending leaves it open for the next book.

I loved the creativity of this story. This book encompasses several genres which makes for an entertaining read. I wasn’t sure what to expect because the blurb was a bit vague, but the intrigue of it all kept me reading. I finished the book in just a few hours because I couldn’t put it down.

I will say that I had a challenge liking the Sally character. I’m not sure what it was about her that gave me difficulty, but it didn’t affect the overall story enough for me to stop reading.

I’m definitely looking forward to the second book!!!!

Tracey Cramer-Kelly. Once again this author wrote a story that me completely hooked. From page one I knew I’d love Ian and Rachel’s story. Each having their own troubles to face. These characters were so easy to feel connected to. The writing is smooth and well paced never feeling rushed or lacking. This story is one that hits a bit close to home and my heart so that helped. This book was just as amazing as book one, and honestly maybe my favorite but don’t tell book one! If you’re looking for a story that pulls you in from the get go go get this one! Darcy’s Caution (Pride & Prejudice & Racecars Book 3) by Zoe Burton. I’m simply loving these stories and this authors writing. This one is probably my favorite. The characters are complex and relatable. Will and Liz just draw you into their world and when it’s all said and done you probably won’t want to leave. There’s definitely times I found myself trying to read faster to know what happened next and read slower because I didn’t want it to end. But all great things come to an end and this was a great story. It’s mix of suspense, racing and romance are perfectly done by the author. I’m excited to see where the author takes readers next. Every time I start reading one of these books I know it’s going to be an all nighter because it pulls me right in and I can’t put it down until I find out how it ends. I love how this story I’d so full of detail that I feel like I’m right there in it. This is a really quick read. I read every word of the story in about 2 hours. The formatting of the book is set up with super short chapters moving the story along in a linear timeline.

The story has a strong middle and end and while I appreciate a less detailed story, this book is written with such an abbreviated beginning it was hard to understand HOW the instalove came about.

It will be interesting to see if Chase will be mentioned in future installments of this series.

Flower Shields (A Four Horsemen Novel Book 1) by C.A. King is an excellent fantasy romance novel. Easily worth its 5-stars. Tara and Michael are the main characters. Tara is somehow mixed up in a scenario involving a key. Michael is looking for it as well but to keep it from landing in the hands of demons. Tara is attacked by demons and is whisked away by Michael. That is when things really go crazy.

This story was easy to follow and fun to read. I loved the development and plot twist. The characters were very creative and the backstory was exciting. It was a different fictional beginning for all life. I really enjoyed this novel and hope other readers will too.

Protecting His Heart: a Lawson Family Novel (Lawson Family Series Book 2) by Tracey Cramer-Kelly – Review by Michelle King

Protecting His Heart (Lawson Family, #2)Protecting His Heart by Tracey Cramer-Kelly
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed reading the second book in the Lawson Family series, Protecting His Heart. This book really resonated with me because it deals with a subject I have dealt with in my personal life, abuse by a loved one. Ian was abused by his alcoholic father as a child and Rachel is dealing with an abusive boyfriend. I’ve been in both of those situations so I can truly relate to the main characters of this book and how they feel. It seems from the moment they met, Ian and Rachel were meant for each other, but can they overcome their fears and deal with the issues in their lives and make a life together, or will they let their fears and pasts keep them apart?

While reading this small-town romance, you feel as if you are a part of the story. Like this is happening right here in my own small town and these are my friends! I can see them all gathered at our local baseball field playing games and having a few beers. It’s a realistic look at small town life, the closeness of not only family but friends as well. It is a story of faith, love, and most of all, forgiveness. I look forward to reading Ben’s story next and highly recommend this series!

Battling Beckett: A Contemporary Step Brother RomanceBattling Beckett: A Contemporary Step Brother Romance by T. Christensen
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Battling Beckett: A Contemporary Step Brother Romance by T. Christensen is a young adult romance story. It is a fun read but our main male character is decidedly a bad person who I did not like, he is the typical rich, entitled boy who gets what he wants . He a bit overpowering in the ego department who made the life of our female lead miserable. I would have liked to see the story told in multiple POV’s.

Greer and her mum are moving in with the Dawson’s, the new step brother and his dad. Beckett is not a happy camper and is out to make life a living hell. A new elite school where our top dog and number one egotistical Beckett goes and is the big football star doesn’t make life any easier for her. Somewhere along the way she finds herself with an attraction to the one who makes life miserable and inferior but will she act on those feelings?

An enjoyable read.

It really shows off Laurie’s talent as an author as the plot whilst seemingly random, is one dance that is so intricately woven together, yet delivered to draw you in. The characters are well developed and believable to read. There is action and drama, suspense and thrills that will keep you tied to your chair as you try to piece it all together and try to work through the puzzles. Laurie has done great job with this story and it is one of the best suspense stories I have read this year.

You need to read and discover the world that Laurie has created so you won’t be getting any spoilers from me.

Devil’s Due: Satan’s Devils MC (Colorado Chapter #3) by Manda Mellett – Review by Angela Hayes

Devil's Due: Satan's Devils MC Colorado Chapter #3Devil’s Due: Satan’s Devils MC Colorado Chapter #3 by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Devil’s Due is the third book in Satan’s Devils MC Colorado Chapter by Manda Mellett. This is definitely my favourite of the crossover series so far. It is full of protective biker action, drama, emotion, sizzle, danger, some suspense, and much more.
After loving the previous series soooo much, I have had some pretty high expectations for this series, and Ms. Mellett doesn’t disappoint. I was excited to read this story, and if you have been following her series, you will want to read this book! Trust me!
As expected from Ms. Mellett’s stories there is always an incredible plot that will hook you right off the bat, with an unpredictability to the storyline that will keep you turning the pages to find out what happens next. With surprising developments and a few twists along the way to keep things really interesting. But it’s the characters who really make these stories so exceptional- and these books wouldn’t be the same without the superbly crafted and complex individuals who make you believe in them, invest in them, and root for them the whole way though.
If you love a really well written, original, and riveting MC story- with complex, interesting and endearing characters- then let Ms. Mellett take you on a ride you won’t soon forget!

Thank you, Ms. Mellett!

Evil Sushi (Evil Sushi Series Book 1) by C.A. King – Review by Cindy Mayberry

Evil SushiEvil Sushi by C.A. King

Evil Sushi
Evil Sushi Series
Book one
By C. A. King
☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆

Evil Sushi is not what I expected! It was so much more. In this book you will experience many feels. Some will have you sitting on the edge, others will keep you reading this book. This story being the first in the series, will keep you looking out for the next book in this exciting series. I will tell you, I am happy that I am allergic to all seafood. For this story puts a new light on Sushi.

C. A. King has such a creative mind. I have read many of her book. But this has really forced me into a side of books, I don’t generally read. The characters are well explained, you will love some had hate others. Which is what makes this story a “Must Read”. Way to keep me up late C. A. King. I just could not stop reading! You can bet I am getting book 2! Bring it on C. A. King!
