To Kill a Fae (The Dragon Portal Book 1) by Jamie A. Waters – Review by Heather Lovelace

To Kill a Fae (The Dragon Portal Series, #1)To Kill a Fae by Jamie A. Waters
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This epic fantasy has it all! I wa a immediately drawn into this world of fae and never looked back. In fact I found myself so deeply drawn in that I was upset to have to re-emerge to reality after the last page was finished. Grand detail, imaginative characters – this story just felt so vivid and real to me. I loved every single page and am so excited to see how the series continues. My only complaint will be if I have to wait long for book two. Loved it!

Virtue & Vice (Spicetopia #2) by Phoebe Alexander

Virtue & Vice is the second Book in the Spicetopia Series by Phoebe Alexander. I couldn’t put it down once I started reading. This author’s style of writing is just simply amazing and her characters are very well developed and easily relatable. I do recommend reading Sugar & Spice first if you haven’t already. This story picks up where the first left off except this one POV is Moon and Katja’s. These two along with Cy and Jolie want to create a world called Spicetopia where adults can play. An Adult only themed park on a tropical island, sign me up. Find out what happens next in this absolute must read. There is definitely some hot and steamy scenes that will have you feeling hot . I as always can’t wait to read more from this Author.

I wasn’t the type of woman a biker would go for. I’m a homemaker type, not adventurous or bold.

I fought it hard, but he dragged me into his world, and I found I liked it. Loved the family vibe, how everyone would gather around to protect what was theirs.

Until, he vanished. Disappeared off the face of the earth. He’d pulled me in, now he’s gone. The only explanation for him not coming back is that he’s dead.

She wasn’t mine, and never could be. She’d been claimed by someone else. The perfect woman who I could never have as my own.

I stepped up when she needed someone beside her. Held her when she needed a friend. That my brother was dead was something I’d help her accept.

The truth though, that hit the hardest. How could any of us deal with the knowledge that there was something worse than death?

Manda’s life’s always seemed a bit weird, starting with a childhood that even today she’s still trying to make sense of, then losing her parents in the late teens. Going from the tragic to the bizarre, who else could be unlucky enough to have had two car accidents, neither her fault, one involving a nun, and another involving a police woman?

There isn’t enough space to list everything that’s happened to Manda, or what she’s learned from it. But by using the rich fabric of her personal life, psychology degree, varied work experiences, and amazing characters she’s met, Manda is able to populate her books with believable in-depth characters and enjoys pitting them against situations which challenge them. Her books are full of suspense, twists and turns and the unexpected.

Manda lives in the beautiful countryside of Essex in the UK, the area’s claim to fame being the Wilkin’s Jam Factory at nearby Tiptree. She can usually find jars of jam which remind her of home wherever she goes. As well as writing books and reading, Manda loves walking her dogs and keeping fit. She lives with her husband of over 30 years, who, along with her son, is her greatest fan and supporter.

Manda is thankful that one of the more unusual, and at the time unpleasant, turns her life took, now enables her to spend her time writing. Confirming, in her view, every cloud has a silver lining.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book was such an amazing start to a new series and i absolutely loved it. The writing was great and the author had a way of grabbing my attention and keeping it throughout the entirety of the book. This book is about Jayden and Paladin. They are two fantastic characters that went so well together and you just couldn’t help but root for them from the very beginning. The two meet when the Satan’s Devil MC rescues Jayden and she couldn’t help but fall for Paladin rather quickly. They move to a different MC compound in Colorado and life is rocky. Pulled in every direction, its seems like everyone is against them but will their love thrive or parish in beautiful Colorado?
I cannot wait to read the rest of this authors work! This book was an awesome one and i have high hopes for the rest of the series! I would recommend to anyone that loves a good MC romance!
Happy Reading!

Four Star

Friend: A College Romance is the third book in the What Happens on Campus Series by M.L. Sparrow. This friends to lovers college romance is a perfect addition to this series. This book can be read as a standalone but the whole series is great and I recommend you read it in order. This story does contain violence and the aftermath of an attack, which I think dealt with these issues in a responsible way. Terri Murphy is a strong woman overcoming a violent attack, and when her best friend Jet Chang stays with her on spring break. They finally start seeing each other in a new light. This book had me hooked on the very first page and I couldn’t put it down until the last. The write was smooth and the characters were true to life. This is a great series, and I can’t wait to read what M.L. has in store for us next.

Very solid book from start to finish. Lightening fast read, I was concerned that I might not completely commit to the characters with the seemingly low number of pages. But I flew quickly through the pages because I connected with Chase and Carrie. I loved reading this book and learning more about their relationship. And better yet, this is the first book in the series. I cannot wait to continue on and see what the author writes next!

This really was an interesting book. A ghost story with a twist. When I started reading Of Way and Tators, I was a little leary. The beginning just did not grab my attention. But, as I continued reading my interest was peaked and I became engaged in the story. The many twists and turns grabbed my attention and I found myself wanting to know how it would end. My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Flower Shields by C. A. King is an interesting introduction. Our heroine in this story, Tara, seems destined for anonymity. Such a plain mousey young lady doesn’t seem to make for an interesting tale. But in all good stories there is always more than meets the eye. Someone finds her very interesting. By the time our hero arrives on the scene I was quite caught up in the story. The introduction, Flower Shields, to The Four Horseman novels has been intriguing to say the least. I am certainly on board for the next one.

People get more ecofriendly but caring about methane from cows so fish becomes more popular. But because the population has exploded, the seas are becoming ever more barren. Two intrepid fisherman find something in the depths. My first guess was that this was gonna be a twist between Grabbers and Cthulhu. If either of those things tickle you fancy, read on!

Friend : A College Romance (What Happens on Campus Book 3) by M L Sparrow

This was a wonderful book, it pulled me right in. Terri, who we met in a previous book in this series, is a very independent, smart, reliable, and strong woman. She has went through a traumatic experience and it’s hard for her to navigate how to deal with it and how to ask for help when she needs it because it’s not something she is comfortable doing. Her best friend Jet has always been there for her but she has secretly had a crush on him for the last three years. He wants to be there for her and help her he just isn’t sure what’s the best way to go about doing that, but that doesn’t stop him from trying. These two are so adorable and I found myself wanting the best for them. There are characters from the previous books in this book and I love that. This is a must read if you want to know if these two find love together.

Virtue & Vice (Spicetopia #2) by Phoebe Alexander is another excellent spicy and steamy romance. I really enjoy Phoebe’s work and always get lost in her stories. Her character portrayal of Moon and Katja are spot on. You really need to read the first book in the series, Sugar & Spice, before reading this one. The stories are so hot and steamy that will leave you in need of a cold shower. I love that the story has a background story to tell as well. What can I say really, Phoebe’s work speaks for itself?

If you like something oh so sexy and erotic then this is a book you should grab and dive right in.

SECRETS NEVER DIE by Laurie Lewis – Review by Jenni Bishop

Secrets Never DieSecrets Never Die by Laurie L.C. Lewis
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Secrets Never Die by Laurie Lewis is a very, very clever suspense story that keep you on your toes as you try to navigate the delightful twists and turns. It really shows off Laurie’s talent as an author as the plot whilst seemingly random, is one dance that is so intricately woven together, yet delivered to draw you in. The characters are well developed and believable to read. There is a lot of swearing and some violence, so beware if you don’t like that sort of thing, but that only enhanced the reading. There is also action and drama, violence and death, suspense and thrills that will keep you tied to your chair as you try to piece it all together. It is great to see Laurie branch out from the norm of historical romance and produce such a great read.

You need to read and discover the world that Laurie has created so you won’t be getting any spoilers from me.

My Rating: 5 of 5 stars

Evil Sushi (Evil Sushi Series Book 1) by C.A. King was a thrilling read that had me hooked.

Not my first read by this author, so I was excited to see this little wonder appear. The cover captured my attention (as does all the covers for this author) and once I read the synopsis, I was hooked, line and sinker.

As I am a fan of horror, and fantasy, this was a pleasant mix that really kept me reading. The detail was to shelf as per-normal with this author, and the story telling alluring. This book takes you into a darkness that has a bit of realism to it, making this read all the more heart pounding. The tone and flow matched and helped with keeping you not only engaged but on the edge of your seat.

Original and fresh this book is a must read, so please take my super high recommendation and my stamp of approval, that you will not beadle to put this book down, or look at certain things we eat, the same way again.

All That’s Left Unsaid by Rowena Holloway is a well written Psychological thriller that I could NOT put down! Secrets, drama, suspense, truth, lies, and a mother and daughter all rolled into one made this a book that will draw reader’s right into the story. The story The Men of Holmby Hills: Chase (The Holmby Hills Series Book 1) by Allyson Simonian is a contemporary romance book. It is a story that is fast-paced and pulls you in from the very beginning. I enjoyed reading about the characters of Chase and Carrie. Chase is an actor who you could say he is self-centered and selfish. He is finding that his wife, Carrie may be realizing that he doesn’t deserve her. Carrie is a young woman who is kind and caring. She is someone who loves to teach and has compassion for others. She is finding that she and Chase are not connecting. Will Chase be able to show Carrie just how amazing that he believes her to be? What does the future hold for Chase and Carrie? Read this book to find out. This is a story that has emotional moments. With a book being fast-paced, sometimes it is hard to get to know the characters. Not so with this story. I grew to care about Chase and Carrie with each chapter that I read and wanted them to be happy. Don’t miss out on a wonderful story that has amazing characters. I highly recommend reading it.

This is the first book i’ve read from this author and it completely intrigued me. I loved that one character is famous in a book and I wanted to see how it played out.

Carrie is a school teacher and it seemed that her relationship to chase was on the fast track. She was completely enthralled but being married to someone famous was completely different from what we believe it would be. Chase is an awesome hero and wants to change stuff to make his life and image better but there are battles!

This is the first book in this series and I will say I’m intrigued on what else this series holds.

A Dark Sparrow Box Set (Dark Sparrow Series Books 1-3) by India Kells – Review by Angela Hayes

A Dark Sparrow Box Set - Books 1-3A Dark Sparrow Box Set – Books 1-3 by India Kells
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A Dark Sparrow Box Set – Books 1-3 contains the first three amazing books in the Dark Sparrow Series by India Kells. I have loved everything India Kells has written, and these books are no exception. They were riveting from beginning to end- and I though Ms. Kells wove a really gripping, well thought out, and intriguing stories. Each one focuses on one ‘brother’ and the woman who steals his heart. But you will see them make appearances throughout the series. Each book adds to the bigger picture that’s being built- adding more facets to the overall story. So this is a really great way to get all the story without- 3 for the price of one- now that’s a great deal! My review for each individual book can be found on each title separately, this is a general over view of the box set.

The Box Set contains:

Lost Bastard (Dark Sparrow Book One)
This is Aleksei and Diva’s story. So, if you are a MMA/ Russian Mafia romantic suspense lover, then this is one book you won’t want to miss.

Cold Bastard (Dark Sparrow Book 2)
E follow Archer and Zoe through all the intriguing developments in this fantastic second chance romance. Even though I have adored all the books and characters in this series- this one dug itself a little deeper into my heart and is my favourite of the bunch (so far).

Wild Bastard (Dark Sparrow Book 3)
I loved Isabelle and Kai’s story, and I am sure you will too. There is danger, suspense and second chances that will have you hooked right till the end.

These books are so well written with lots of multi-layered and complex texturing- which resulted in exciting and incredibly entertaining reads. There were a lot of funny quips and banter too, which help to lighten the emotional, or highly charged moments which occurred throughout the stories. I loved the way Ms. Kells developed her characters, they were all fantastic and very interesting (even the baddies)- because they pulled me further and further into the story, leaving me with a desperate need to know what was going to happen.
Ms. Kells creates quite brilliant, intricate, and suspenseful storylines which included lots of action, danger, deadly games of cat and mouse, perilous situations, evil masterminds, lots of secrets, difficult choices, shocking revelations, electrifying chemistry… and so much more!
I really recommend this Box Set, as I am sure you will love it just as much as I have.
I can’t wait to see what Ms. Kells has in store for us next!

Thank you, Ms. Kells!

Paladin’s Hell: Satan’s Devils MC (Colorado Chapter) #1 by author Manda Mellett tells the story of Paladin and Jayden and is the first book I have read by this author. I can honestly say that I was a little lost at the beginning of this book that is said to be a standalone novel. The backstory of Paladin and Jayden was told quickly to give some insight into what came before. Once that was done, I found the story to be enjoyable and now I feel like I need to go to the author’s back list and read what I missed. I will continue on with the series since now I am looking forward to seeing what comes next!
