What an absolutely fantastic start to what I know will be a truly amazing series. Savage and Dani are such strong characters with immediate chemistry that is off the charts! Their first meeting had me laughing and completely hooked at the same time! This author has created wonderful characters that I am looking forward to getting to know even more as the series develops and a fantastic storyline filled intrigue, heart and steam!! I absolutely loved this and can’t wait to read more about the Hawke family!!

Handle With Care (Chase Care Book 1) by R.L. Dunn – Review by Lisa Helmick

Handle With Care (Chase Care Book 1)Handle With Care by R.L. Dunn
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This story was a huge struggle for me. Getting into the characters and feeling for them was virtually nonexistent. I did a few but there is way too many characters (with code names and military titles) introduced to remember who is who and which name they go by. Flynn is one of the few who pulled my sympathy and worry.

I have read this authors books in the past. In fact some of these characters were in the stories I read. Some I love and others are like this one. If you are in the medical profession and military you will probably understand the lingo used in here. I am neither and was left thinking like I was at the doc office and they are talking a foreign language.

Overall this one is over my head and it struggled to hold my interest because I just did not care. The suspense part was well planned but thats the best I can say. Pick this up if you like medical and military jargon with characters galore.

This is book one of the series. It is a spin off of another series buy this author but can be completely read without having read the original series. I didn’t read the original series and found that I could stay caught up with everything in the book. This book is a romantic suspense genre but I found it to have more suspense than romance. The twists and turn this books takes was everything I didn’t know that I needed. It does have some romance but not as much as I have read in other romantic suspense books. I think that this is great as it will appeal to the romance lover but also the thrill seeker readers. I highly recommend reading this quick read when you are wanting to escape from the day to day. It is well written and will have you constantly turning the pages to see what happens. I am new to this author and will be completing this series along with reading the original series.

I love that this series is a spin off from Chase Security Series. It made me want to keep reading. Dr. Hunter Montgomery is Chief Medical Officer of Chase Care. He had recently lost the love of his life and partner. So basically he is just doing his job, nothing else, no romance, just work. Selma Bryant who is also a Doctor has reappeared in Hunter’s life, but not for long. She has secretly loved Hunter, but now was not the right time. As she is leaving New Orleans and heading out with Doctors Abroad to Africa. What happens next? No Spoilers, I recommend you read this series. The author has once again sucked me in. This is a medical thriller with twists and turns that will keep you reading. I love that some of the characters from Chase Security appear in this series as well. While this story has a lot of medical information, it is also easy to follow. Romance is in the air, but suspense runs this romantic thriller.

My first favorite book of 2023. A romantic suspense that will have you putting the DO NOT DISTURB sign on everything. Hunt, Selma, Flynn and the rest of the gang are involved in some deep drama and undercover adventure. I was drawn in right from the start and engaged with Hunt and Selma, they are a power couple that come with baggage, but work hard to power through it. With deadly antagonists to find and take out, the drama is real and can turn at a heartbeat. The romance is flowing. As Kieran says, it’s “the Chase flu” in the water (love the humor in the story. The characters are very relatable and easy to feel like you could know them. The plot line is thick and has a few subplots that magically all come right back together. I love the teamwork of the characters. The flow of the story is perfect. This book is fantastic and I loved it. It would get more than 5 stars if I were allowed.

The Hawke Family Complete Collection by Gwyn McNamee – Review by April McCoy

The Hawke Family Complete CollectionThe Hawke Family Complete Collection by Gwyn McNamee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Gwyn McNamee gives us a heart throb thrilling series with six books in total. Things start with a bang when Danika faces off with Savage Hawke in book number 1 titled Savage Collision. Sparks fly and you can definitely cut the tension with a knife! After answers about her sister, Danika doesn’t expect to develop the feels and Savage is pleasantly surprised. This book was a rollercoaster that put me in a state of determination to see what came next and what more the author had to offer.

In book 2 titled Tortured Skye we see a female member of the Hawke family burning the pages with another sultry tale of angst and heavy chemistry. Cue Gabe. The best thing aside from keeping me on my toes was the face we were previously introduced to Skye and I am a sucker for seeing a character grow and develop throughout the series! Book two held its weight as a great addition to the growing series.

Stone Sober or book 3 was one I read from beginning to end in one sitting. There was enough build up that I needed to consume it wholly. At this point Gwynn has me hook line and sinker and Stone and Nora took home the cake here. The dynamic between them was so out of left field in the most perfect way and his gruff, straight sex appeal versus her school girl saint naivety had a duo that just had me right up in my feels. by far my favourite *so far* of the series. I honestly think that if you are reading this review and wanting to start the series on book three…DONT DO IT. I don’t know that the effect would be the same if you didn’t have the full story to build on the world these characters are living in and the rules they play by. As always Gywn gave us a solid read that left us fantasizing about our own Stone.

Book 4 called building storm left a storm in my heart. Total goals was the character Storm showcased and I think the reason the book was so addicting was the fact that at some level angst, pain and difficulty are all relatable. This duo had me sobbing and I really didn’t want it to end!

Book 5 was Tainted Saint and it was a definite tale of don’t judge a book by its cover. Saint and Carolines dynamic was fire. They both project whether willingly or not, different people than who they are deep down and I wasn’t sure this duo would survive to the end. Gwyn has a way of entwining us into these peoples lives where you feel as if you are experiencing their emotions and rooting them the whole way through! Another book in the series I couldn’t have put down even if I wanted to!!

All good things come to an end and for this blazing box set Steel Resolve brought it home. The risks were high, my fingers cramped from gripping the edge of my seat and this was a real curveball. I enjoyed the deviation as it kept the series fresh. Left opportunity. Luca is SOMETHING ELSE and man, I was sweating more than once. A true nail biter with this balanced beautifully with the glimpses into the softer side of the hardest people.

This collection was absolutely amazing, that I couldn’t put them down I read all of them in a row. The depth this author wrote the story, and the characters was just phenomenal that I thought I was right there in the story and know the characters on a personal level. All these books were compelling and intriguing, filled with suspense, steamy romance and action-packed not only is there friendship, love and the way the family comes together when needed. Highly recommend these, you might not sleep until you’ve read them all, but its worth it.

This book is the prequel to the series. I could not put this book down and can’t wait to read more of the series. I don’t often read novellas because I feel like it ends just as I get into it but I’m glad I made an exception!

One night, no names. Should be an easy agreement, until it’s not. This book did not disappoint with the hotness. The characters are well written, it’s steamy, what more could you want. I am really looking forward to reading more.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This story kind of kind of felt like a modern Cinderella. We had the wicked stepmother and not only 1 prince, but 3. Stella is just trying to make her life work. It falls apart but she does falls into a dreamy situation. I found this to be an okay story. It’s very steamy. The story was good. I do love it when bad boys get their comeuppance and the good girl wins her dreams. Her struggle is real and the story does a wonderful job of showing it. It’s a good romance for those that love reverse harem romances.

The only thing that kept this from getting five solid stars was the fact that it ended way too soon. There is a LOT of steamy hot sex in this book, but I was definitely drawn to the internal monologue that was being had by both of the Main Characters. I am truly intrigued as to WHO “Jack” really is. The things divulged in this Novella are both intriguing and leave you wanting to know oh so much more. I cannot wait for this spinoff from McNamee’s original series.

The Hawke Family Complete Collection is a collection of six books that make up The Hawke Family series. My first book by this author was Savage Collison and the rest is pretty much history. I never hesitate to read whatever she writes. Her style of writing along with her creative characters make for one heck of a story. Each one is about a different family member and we get glimpses of other characters. Her stories have just the right amount of steamy scenes that will have you turning the pages to see what is going to happen next. Her characters are real, relatable and fully developed which makes it easy to fall in love with them that much easier. I highly recommend reading this Complete Collection by this amazing author. I can’t wait to read more from this Author.

The Hawke Family Complete CollectionThe Hawke Family Complete Collection by Gwyn McNamee

I absolutely loved this collection. The collection includes all 6 books of the Hawke Family. The author gives just enough detail about each character that gives you the feeling that you are a close personal friend but not so much in depth that you get bored with the words. There is a lot of heat and spice throughout the entire series but also each book has an in-depth plot.

Savage Collision:
This is the first book in the collection and focuses on the eldest son of the Hawke family, Savage. We are also introduced to the entire family in this book and get a good glimpse at different character personalities. I absolutely love Savages character development throughout this book, it is shown through each chapter how much he has grown. The romance is between Savage and his employee’s older sister Danika. Savage owns not only clubs, and restaurants but also a gentleman’s club, which makes Dani call him a “pussy peddler”. Dani is a journalist and is working on a big story that deals with the Mob and Mayor. Savage is a control freak who has lost a good bit of control in his life, which makes him even harder to deal with. Dani is also hardheaded and is definitely not looking for love. Will these two be able to even stand in the same room without going completely insane? This book is full of steam, suspense, and action, in addition to the romance.

Tortured Skye:
This is the second book in the collection and focuses on Skye, the youngest daughter of the Hawke family. The romance with Skye also involves her brother’s best friend, Gabe. I absolutely loved Skye in the first book, and I fell in love with her even more in this book. While Skye is a little bitchy and hot headed, I feel she is really more misunderstood than anything. She lost her twin sister and that alone would give anyone major issues. Both of the fight their love and attraction for the longest time, but once they give in, the flood gates are open, and it gets hot and heavy quickly. Gabe is still quite reluctant to be in a relationship given it is a semi betrayal to his best friend Savage. The author shows us in this book that there is always something more going on with a person that what is shown on the outside. The journey Skye and Gabe take is a long winding road.

Stone Sober:
This is the third book in the collection and focuses on Stone, the youngest Hawke in the family. This what absolutely nothing I expected it to be, but it was much better. This is my favorite story of the entire collection. There is a ton of twists and turns in this book that will have your heart racing and fist clenching. The storyline is a little darker than the others which I loved. Stone has just returned home and is on edge, he has a secret that he has been keeping that only one other person knows about. This secret could set him completely down the wrong path, moreso than it already has done. Nora, is an amazing smart young woman who is also an employee of his brother Savage’s gentlemen’s club. Absolutely no one knows her reasoning for giving up her doctor career to become a stripper, besides that it is more freeing. This story is hot, dark and full of secrets.

Building Storm:
This is the fourth book in the collection and follows the oldest sister, Storm. I ended up so wrapped up in this story that I read it completely in one sitting. In this story, you will definitely feel every emotion possible. The author has written it perfectly for you to feel all of the sorrow, the anger and the lust. There were parts where I felt like my heart actually broke from the way Storm was feeling. From the other books we know that Storm has a daughter and was married, but now we get to see how Storm is putting her life back together. She definitely wasn’t looking for love, but it found her anyway. Landon is from Chicago and ends up in New Orleans after trying to run from his problems. They are both broken, but in different ways and they hope to heal each other. Do you think Storm is ready for a happy ending, or are they both two broken to be fixed?

Tainted Saint:
This is the fifth book in the collection and focuses on Caroline and Saint. Caroline, we met back in book one, she is Danika’s best friend, and a friend of the Hawke women. She is fun, feisty, and adventurous. She has her eyes set on a new bouncer of one of the clubs, Saint. This story is smoking hot with so many different twists. One of my favorite aspects of this book is that Caroline is not the type of woman that takes orders very well, like Saint is used to. I felt there was not a lot of the same depth in this story but loved it, nonetheless.

Steele Resolve
This is book six in the collection and is a M/M romance that follows Byron and Steele. We met Byron in the first book, he is the manager of the gentlemen’s club that Savage Hawke owns. This is a forbidden romance, and enemies to lover’s trope. You can’t help but to love Byron, he is sweet, funny, and loyal. This book is full of high-strung emotion. Steele is Mr. Right but also oh so wrong for Byron. Steele is the enemy, and how is Byron going to choose between his heart and his family?

If this is how my reading year is starting I say roll on 2023 !!What an epic way to start 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

So I was spoilt with not but 6 books in 1 ❣️📕 how did I do it , well it’s like eating an elephant , bit for bit 🤭😂 what an absolute treat this was !!

SAVAGE COLLISION

When Danika storms into Savage’s office I brace myself but this girl is afraid of nothing and I wasn’t sure who was more entertained me or Savage😉

There is not a scared hair on Danika’s head and as an investigative reporter that serves her well but it also gets her into a rather precarious position and thank all that is good that Savage and Gabe are around but for every action there’s a reaction and it adds a lot of suspense to the tension between Danika and Savage 😱nail biting , riveting and absolute brilliance !

Savage has issues and demons of his own as does Gabe but these 2 friends are lifers and watching them deal with their issues was a gift , a privelage and it made them human 🤗 I just love these guys and I know I shouldn’t have favorites but Savage you’re it for me 😉🥰

TORTURED SKYE

I don’t blame Skye for kissing Gabe ! If it wasn’t for Savage owning my heart I’d have been all over Gabe like a bad rash 🤭 but this can only get complicated 🙈bring it on 😉

Both Skye and Gabe have had some serious pain and loss and those scars stay behind but these 2 are pure perfection together and HOT 🥰🔥

I must say these 2 have had me on the edge of my seat and emotionally rather drained but it was oh so worth it 😉❣️📕

STONE SOBER

How hot is this cover !?! I nearly self combusted and I hadn’t even started reading 🥰😂🔥🤭

Stone is that every man hates and every woman wants ! Good grief I think he could make a nun denounce her vows #truestory#

Now Nora may be a dancer in the club but there’s a purity and an innocence to her that Stone finds appealing and let me say she’s one lucky girl to have attracted his attention 🫶🏼

This series is like aging red wine each one is better than the previous one and I just so invested in these Hawke boys!

I laughed , I cried , ok I sobbed and just remember secrets always have a way of coming out .

This was beautifully twisted and I loved every single moment ❣️📕

BUILDING STORM

Storm and Landon ripped my heart out !

Storm is an exceptionally strong woman to have survived all that she has and not be swallowed by sadness and bitterness blows my mind !

Landon is hurting and dealing with things and I think that’s what helps him be more empathetic to Storm and he draws from himself to help get heal

When these 2 got together I was panicking , I thought this was going to be a recipe for disaster but these 2 are just pure perfection and they had be all hot and bothered most of the time but there were moments where I didn’t think I had any more tears left , this Hawke family is going to be the end of me yet 🥰

TAINTED SAINT

Caroline and Saint had me all over the place if I must be honest and I’m not sure if it’s because I’m so emotional over the Hawkes that I’m sensitive but I just want peace and serenity for these people and we’ve journeyed together now ,, they feel more like family than friends 🥰

Saint may be a BIG man but he’s a real old softy don’t let his size fool you and Caroline is all bark and no bite and these 2 are soooooo good together 🥰

STEELE RESOLVE

I met the Abellos a long time ago , like 5 books back and they’re not the type I would want to cross but everyone no matter how strong or mean or cruel they seem have a soft spot somewhere , we all have an Achilles, even the Abellos 😉 Luca show us the softer side of his family

This was a different read to the others to a degree , yes it did make me feel a little uncomfortable but that doesn’t take anything away from the pure brilliance of this series in actual fact it shows the diversity of the author and that right there already earns 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Byron managed the club and his “ affiliation “ with Luca had me on edge , there’s so much at risk and I was on the edge of my seat , yet again 😱😂

I didn’t want the series to end but the saying all good things come to an end and I may have got to the last page but the Hawkes will always be in my heart !

Holy Moly!! Talk about hot!! If I was able to give 10 stars…. I would in a heartbeat! This is a prequel to the Hawke Family Second Generation Series, and I definitely recommend reading! It’s a super quick read but let me tell you….it is an attention grabber from the first paragraph! I truly couldn’t put this book down…. the book had me thinking…. Christian Grey who! I’m not going to give away anything from the book, but dang…there’s a LOT of spicy! You want to talk about secrets, romance, plenty of emotion, and of course hot as hell spice! This was an extremely entertaining book and I sat down and read this in one sitting and was beyond prepared for the next book! And let’s talk about the way the author leaves us on a cliffhanger?! All I have to say is that I’m ready for the next book, and I 100% recommend this book…especially if you’re into hot romances with a little bit of mystery! Happy Reading!

The Hawke Family Complete Series is fantastic! If you enjoy steamy, spicy, action-packed drama, romance, and so much more this series is for you!
The web this author weaves connecting everyone worked out beautifully. The Hawke Family is more than just blood relatives, its friends and coworkers/employees as well.
This Collection consists of 6 books, each their own. Each one involves all characters throughout, but each focusing on a specific two. Written from the point of view of both main characters. I enjoy when authors do that because then you know what each character is thinking and what the author might’ve been thinking when writing them.
Savage Collision – Savage & Danika
Tortured Skye – Gabe & Skye
Stone Sober – Nora & Stone
Building Storm – Landon & Storm
Tainted Saint – Caroline & Saint
Steele Resolve – Byron & Luca
I enjoy and appreciate each book in a different light. However there were two books that stuck out to me. Two books that rose to the top for me, which were Stone Sober & Tortured Skye. I loved both of them. I was pulled to Stone even before his novel, I wanted a deeper dive into his character, and man the author definitely did not disappoint. Everything he went through and dealt with reading and digesting it just made me love him even more. Yes, Stone is my favorite Hawke Family member. Stone and Skye were the most troubled Hawke siblings, however they were all broken souls, that gave me hope they would grow and mend themselves even “adopted” son/brother Gabe.
These books are hard to put down, there’s just so much going on, that sometimes it could seem too much. However the balance the author gives throughout gives you time to digest even in thoses moment.
Is there love? Yes
Is there happiness? Yes
Is there tragedy? Unfortunately
Is there action? Absolutely
Those are just a few reminders on why you should jump into this world. Am I going to say what happens in what books? Absolutely not, what’s the fun in that! It’s up to you to read THEM!

One of the best series I have ever read!

Savage Collision
The first book in this series really sets the stage (plot wise) for the rest of the stories. It gets going really quick, and you literally have to hang on for the ride. Loved the build up and the twist the author threw at us! I also enjoyed the details we got to see about the businesses he was running. You get a deep respect really quick for the hero. Loved the chemistry between Savage and Dani!

Tortured Skye
The second book is about Savage’s little sister Skye. Her romance starts out with that forbidden attraction and it is delicious! Gotta love that scenario! Of all the characters, Skye’s personality is my least favorite. With that said, I still enjoyed her love story, and definitely how good her man is for her. The plot line that was started in first book continues, so my advice is to read in order even if someone’s story draws you more.

Stone Sober
Stone is the black sheep in the family, and I was concerned where his story would take us. His romantic interest is also off limits, and it heightens this storyline with a hint of danger. Just reading a few pages will have you worried about Nora, about Stone’s association with Dom, and impending doom for this family you have started to love.

Building Storm
This was my favorite book in the series. Storm is everything I love in a female lead. Landon seeing her pain and determined to help her thru it was one of the most romantic scenarios that I’ve ever read. The way the author wrote their first meeting, second meeting, their love scenes at the beginning with Storm holding back, and the moment she finally lets go was just beautiful. Very realistic to the way grief works. I connected with this character in a way I didn’t expect. I was moved reading this story in a way I haven’t been in a long time.

Tainted Saint
Novella length, but has so much that happens. Saint and Caroline’s story starts off at a masquerade party, and I just love it. They are freaking perfect together!

Steele Resolve
Steele Resolve is an unexpected twist to the stories we have been reading. This one also has a forbidden romance with the two being involved with the mob and the Hawke family. It is a great plot and this story is the final installment of that plot. A great story to wrap it all up even though I am sad it is ending! Seriously, one of the best series I have ever read!

Night Hawke (The Hawke Family Second Generation Prequel) by Gwyn Mcnamee – Review by Micalah Weatherholtz

Night Hawke (The Hawke Family Second Generation #0.5)Night Hawke by Gwyn McNamee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Night Hawke by Gwyn Mcnamee was a fantastic, spicy, quick introduction to book number 1 in the second generation Hawke family series. If you have read the first generation series about the Hawke family you read the books about the characters parents, which is an amazing series, and definitely a worthwhile read. Night Hawke is about Issac Hawke and a mystery girl that he meets in a bar and the instant lust and attraction that they experience. They agree to one night of fun, anonymous, with no names, and agree to leave each other in the morning. What could be better, right? I read this book in about an hour or so but it definitely has me on the hook waiting for book number one in this series to be released.

“Jack” and “Nolan” meet at a bar, like most people do. They both expect a fun time to help them forget their real responsibilities and roles in life. Turns out, that’s impossible. In this short story, you follow two very enticing characters through their 2 days together. I can’t wait to read the next book, which continues this short story. Read this if you like steamy scenes, amazing detail, and character development.

What a great prequel! This book makes me so excited to read the series. This was a quick read that packed a punch with great chemistry between Jack and Isaac, and a weekend full of steamy moments. I have no doubt that the second generation of Hawke’s will be just as good as the first. This author has a way of pulling you into the story line and keeping you entertained. This book leaves you on a cliffhanger wanting more. This is a must read.

If I could give this 10 stars, I would in a heartbeat! This is the prequel to the Hawke Family Second Generation Series! Super quick read but my gosh did it grab my attention from the first paragraph! I simply could NOT put this book down. I’m not writing any spoilers but just know the SPICE is 🔥 for being a short read the connection between the two main characters was incredible! There’s secrets, there’s romance, there’s angst, there hot as hell spice! I loved it all. I fell in love with the characters so damn fast that I need more! I read this in one sitting and when it ended, I screamed. Because I didn’t want the story to end lol. And that cliffhanger? My goodness. I can’t wait to read the next book!! Because I’m addicted to this one! Highly highly HIGHLY recommend!

I hadn’t read anything from Gwyn McNamee before, but I am *extremely* glad I picked this up. I was entranced from the first chapter and couldn’t get enough of this story! I couldn’t believe such a short read could have me so involved with the characters. The author did an outstanding job with this, and I have already picked up another collection of hers as soon as I finished this one. Night Hawke definitely has plenty of heat in it, pick it up and give this incredible author a read!

This is the first book I’ve read by this author and it was a great start. Gwyn did a great job creating the dynamics between Isaac and Jack. I look forward to seeing what happens in book one of this series, especially with the cliffhanger she gave us.

Night Hawke
By: Gwyn McNamee

This is my first book by Gwyn McNamee and it most certainly will not be my last. This was an incredibly steamy romance that, like the characters, left me wanting more. Isaac and Jack were written with such depth and intrigue that I truly enjoyed them. This was definitely one of the best books I have ever read. I will caution that this book is incredibly steamy. I loved that about it though. This is the prequel to the Hawke Family series, however it definitely stands alone. I have not read a single book in this series and I was able to follow it all without being the least bit confused.
